Well, you've read the notes, the notes were quite Swedish, and now it is time for you to post until the Swedish Cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ONOMASTICS!
-
Non-chocolate candies. I shall mention "Fruit Tingles" much loved by Princess Mary of Denmark. Some of the Hainsies have partaken of these tingles. I suspect all my other favourites would be unknown to North Americans. (DR Jose may have some knowledge but I think he was too involved in chocolate tasting when he was here).
-
Word of the day. I think that is something to do with Yoko's piano compositions.
-
I love Swedish Fish, but I made myself so sick on them once.
Yes, it appears I documented it too. http://singingnymph.livejournal.com/202366.html

So, I think I know what I'm doing after I see the BRAIN.

Benny & I were going to get together & sing Beatles songs as an ongoing jam thing, but I ended up moving home to Fresburg before we ever could. That has nothing to do with his band, but they're really good & I hope I get to go.
-
Fruit Tingles???
Are you sure that wasn't someone's drag name?
-
If all goes well, I should hit 200 today. Go team!
-
And the word of the day is: ONOMASTICS!
Casey would waltz
With a strawberry blonde,
But because he was not skilled in the field of ONOMASTICS
She remained a "strawberry blonde" without a name.
-
Either that, or it is the title of an avante garde film by John Lennon's widow, where we get to watch her masticate.
-
Word of the day. I think that is something to do with Yoko's piano compositions.
I regularly post my word of the day ruminitions before reading what anyone else has posted.
Like minds.

And now I must already get ready for work. This one is going to be a bruiser.
Pray for Rosemary's Shopping Cart.
:P
-
And now I must already get ready for work.
Which somehow entailed awakening me to announce "It's dark out!" - I agreed, and suggested he wake me up when it was morning. NO sun - NOT morning! (I'll take that "hour" we "saved" back now, thak-you.)
And frost on the windshield - one more insult!
And elmore is on Pacific time, and not here to keep me company.
I think I'll sulk.

Tuesday morning greetings! Here I am at work and won't return home until tomorrow evening. I'll drive to Columbus after work tonight and be there (in Westerville, actually) for an all-day workshop tomorrow). The workshop's about online social tools - blogs, RSS, wikis, podcasting, instant messaging, etc. I'll probably be the oldest one in the class ::)

My sentiments, exactly, although I do like caramels, jelly beans, candy corn (mixed with dry roasted peanuts - yum!), Starburst, and Brach's Butterscotch hard candy. I also like coffee flavored hard candies, like Brach's Special Treasures, which come in 4 flavors - Irish Creme, Swiss Mocha, Amaretto, and French Vanilla.

Good morning, all! I'm will not be around much the next couple of days until I finish the enormous pile of underscoring. It isn't difficult work, but it's frustrated by the general lack of awareness at LACC about the musical side of a new production. I have no workspace, no intern/student/assistant to run the mundane work of taping, fetching, or photocopying (why the hell doesn't there seem to be an accessible photocopier in the theatre dept?) and as aresult, I wander from pillar to post looking for a corner to set up shop andf work. I love the students, my friends in the show and the band, but I've yet to be officially introduced to any of the faculty.
I should have stayed in the "music dept." all night and worked but I had to be out at the end of rehearsal and all I could do was schlep everything back to my hosts, work, crash, get up and do some more and inb another hour I'll schlep all this crap back down to LACC and wander around looking fgor a work space before I can continue to work. This is most unseemly, unprofessional, and counterproductive, especially since my goal is to get around 90% of these bits into the band parts tonight and the entire show numbered! I am not unhappy; I am fruistrated.

DR Elmore - I was going to suggest the college library, until I checked their hours. They close early!
-
Good morning!
Another clear, cold, beautiful day. It's what December is all about!
-
DR Elmore!
I feel your pain, and I'm so sorry. I cannot imagine putting on a original musical and not having a convenient work space for anyone involved with the music. It really is unthinkable.
-
I've been operating under the delusion that I would be auditioning for OLIVER! this coming Sunday. However, I had it pointed out to me yesterday that the auditions are actually next Monday and Tuesday, so this gives me another day of preparation. Imagine my surprise if I had shown up at the theater, and it was dark!
-
I have two hours of DVR programming from last Thursday and Monday to watch.
I also recorded quite a bit of TCM last night. They were showing the pre-Code films that just came out in a boxed set of DVDs (the first version of WATERLOO BRIDGE, RED HEADED WOMAN, and BABY FACE) plus a documentary featuring actresses talking about those pre-Code days.
I didn't buy the DVD set, thinking I could get it used later if I liked the films. I have never seen any of them before. I will be checking them out over the course of the next week.
-
DR Elmore - I was going to suggest the college library, until I checked their hours. They close early!
I probably should have been given a temporary staff pass or something to permit me to stay inthe builfing after hours - if such things exist - but I should have been more emphatic on my own demands four months ago! I'm certainly having a good time, but I need a bona fide work space of my own - preferably not far from rehearsals - as a music prep dept. If this were a major production, I'd have farmed out the incidentals to an assistant or an unemployed friend, and the copyists would be dealing with the librarian work as I turn in numbers. They would have set up the numbering on the show which I finally did with the MD yesterday when a lot of easy cues that could have been notated as lead sheets severasl weeks ago were finally notated by me.
One question today - hinging on how quickly and accessibly we get to a photocopier -is if we copy the 9x12 sheets of manuscript, will we locate a paper cutter to cut the 11x17 sheets of paper down to size? It's gonna be a day of cutting and taping, buit only after the writing's done. Oy!
-
Much of what I'd want to watch tonight is reruns. (nip/tuck is a new episode.)
I think, however, that I will rewatch the season premiere of VERONICA MARS that's showing tonight so I can see if the producer/writers/director placed any clues as to the rapist's identity in this first episode.

DerBrucer: Not to disagree with MattH, but my kids loved A Wrinkle in Time two years ago, when they were 8 and 6. From the mouths of babes (and/or my kids), here are books they've loved recently (they're now 10 and 8 ):
Dragon Rider
Eragon
Eldest (sequel to Eragon)
The Golden Hour
The Bartemeus (sp?) Trilogy

About four or five years ago, I found a treat called Sour Cherries at a drug store during Valentine's season. They were scruptuous! I bought every bag I could lay my hands on, but the next year, they were nowhere to be found around here. DR Ron found some at a store in SF/Oakland and graciously send me a supply. Alas, I still have never seen them again around here.
-
I was basing my estimation of A WRINKLE IN TIME from years ago when my seventh graders would come eagerly into my room at the first of the school year wanting a book as good as that one which they had read in sixth grade. As with all reading, ages vary according to ability, interest, and exposure to good literature. I suspect many of those sixth graders had read the book before they got to sixth grade but went along with the rest of the class who might not have already read it.
-
DR ELMORE,
So sorry you're going through all this. I can definitely relate to needing one's own space! I'm often amazed at how some people work on airplanes; I'm limited to how much I can do in such cramped quarters. Can't offer more than sympathy, but do hope that you see some improvement today.

Now I'm heading down to get started on preparing spaghetti sauce. It's so chilly outside today that I thought this would be a good day to have spaghetti.

I find it odd that they do not give you access either. NDSU has given access before to guests associated with a production. His name escapes me right now, but he was a guest producter last year on campus for their production of Chorus Line and they gave him access to the building and related services.

I also feel elmore's pain, but I feel my pain, too. They haven't done a musical in over twenty years at LACC, let alone an original musical of this size. All this should have been discussed months ago (in terms of needs) and then it could all have been dealt with in advance. But, we do what we can - my assistant was busy doing sound cues last night so I had to scribble my own notes (which were all sound and light related and not show related) and scribble them in the dark. Ridiculous. They have to assign a student to the sound person, which WAS mentioned long ago and never got done. Hopefully, that will be taken care of this evening and I can have Adriana back.
The problem with space at LACC is that it is a school and there are classes going on in all their available spaces. That said, the lobbies of both theaters are always empty.
-
Feeling the pain of the BRAIN staff.....
I am sure it will ALL be worked out.
As a director, for some reason....I am always frustrated by the SOUND people who swear things couldn't be happening as I hear them.....and they NEVER believe you, until it is PROVEN to them.
Your show becomes a slave to those *&#*ing wires and I hate it!
But tonight it will be better.
From what I read yesterday, it could be much worse....you could have Dorothy Provine in your show.
I have the WB album on CD courtesy DR MBARNUM and it is a fun holiday novelty item.

I am sure The Brain will come off perfectly, and those of us in the audience will have no idea about any of these problems you are having behind the scenes. I hope.

What book will America base it's values on, the Bible or the Koran?
Take Action
1. Send an email asking your U.S. Representative and Senators to pass a law making the Bible the book used in the swearing-in ceremony of Representatives and Senators.
Note: NO book is used for the offical swearing-in ceremonies. There are un-official ceremonial swearing-in ceremonies (Photo-Ops) where a Bible is often used.

COMING SOON (http://beanballinc.blogspot.com/2006/12/elvis-is-everywhere.html)
AdAge tells us that Reese's is announcing a limited edition Elvis Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, patterned after the King's favorite fried peanut butter-and-banana sandwiches, to be produced next summer in honor of Elvis having kicked the bucket 30 years earlier.
Notice that Reese's is avoiding the whole Fat Elvis vs. Young Elvis controversy by going directly with having a picture of the much-prettier Young Elvis on the wrapper, even though you can bet the soon-to-be-dead Fat Elvis would've scarfed these down a hell of a lot more frequently.
Rumors that Reese's is planning to launch a limited edition Dr. Nick's Percodan & Peanut Butter Cup to coincide with the Elvis Cups are considered false, however.

Re: Last night's "Heroes"
SPOILER
Interesting episode. I don't know what I expected. I was intrigued that the girl who set out to kill Sylar seemed to be a "good guy". I finally got clear on who that black guy is who is always near her. "The Haitian" who never speaks....who drowns out the cop's ability to hear thoughts...and who is apparently intent on "saving the cheerleader" from her father.
I wish Hiro had learned the cheerleader is alive. I wish Peter Petrelli wasn't the man who will explode. I thought the vision he had was wonderful, but it doesn't bode well for this Peter Petrelli fan.
I think Niki gets her strength from her husband and child. She maintained her integrity when she was with them and let her love overwhelm Jessica. Alone, she's bound to succumb to Jessica's strengths.

At the holiday luncheon I just attended, we had an exchange in which each person who brought a gift-wrapped doo-dah (what I call nonprofit nick nacks) received one. My present, from the Victoria Theatre Association (http://www.victoriatheatre.com), contained a ceramic mug. The painted scene faces the proscenium and when you pour boiling liquid in the cup, the curtain rises to reveal the VTA appreciation message: "You are the Star." I'm drinking Lady Grey tea out of it right now.

What a great gift, DRGINNY!!

I am trying to keep up with my DVD's as well DR RLP....so far so good....
And in the For what it's worth Dept:
I just listened to some of the DREAMGIRLS soundtrack:
I like it a lot! I like the title tune....really nice vocal and instrumental orchestrations....the "fight" in the dressing room when Effie is moved to the back is great...."When I First Saw You" is superb...and "I Am Telling You"...well....three minutes in when Jennifer Hudson lets it go....well...I can hardly wait to see this movie!!!
-
I am looking forward to Dreamgirls. DH Richard and I saw it on the stage in Cincinnati, but it was at the dumpy old Taft Theatre. The sound system was bad, full of distortion and static, and we couldn't understand any of the words (spoken or sung).

I spent a nice portion of the afternoon enjoying the first four episodes from Season 1 of BONES.
As a crime procedural, it has a wonderful sense of humor and a camaraderie among all the actors that make it the most playful and engaging procedural currently on TV. (I like the grim ones just fine, and that tone is appropriate; BONES is a nice change of pace.)
-
The pilot set the tone just perfectly from the start as a skeleton is recovered from a lake and is discovered to be the lover of a married senator. As with all of the episodes, lots of surprises as the investigation probes into the people in the dead woman's life.
-
Thanks for the photos of the "dreamcatchers", JRand56.

For those who don't know about Clowes Hall...it's pronounced "clews"...and it was, when I lived in Indy, state-of-the-art!
-
Back from lunch -- meatball soup, rainbow trout, steamed veggies and herbed rice.
-
Other episodes on the first disc involved the explosion of a suspected terrorist, a prep school student found dangling from a tree limb, and my favorite of the four episodes on the first disc, a human hand found inside a bear.
The latter involved a trip to Washington state to a town with about the hunkiest male population on the planet. Now I can see why some of you H/Ks stay there! :D
-
Only 3 1/2 workdays till my vacation starts!
-
I finished the afternoon with another MURDER SHE WROTE episode from the fourth season. An excellent mystery involving murder and attempted murder at a winery.
The guest cast included Eli Wallach, John Saxon, Grant Goodeve, and an impossibly young-looking Billy Zane. Oh, my, what a heart-breaker he was!
-
BONES is a nice change of pace.)
I find it a bit simplistic and think the writers have dumbed the audience down with all the unnecessary exposition in every episode about the qualificaitons of the lady they call "Bones" and the qualifications of the FBI agent who buddies/partners with her.
Every time they do that, I throw something at the TV before chaning the channel.
-
I have not had one minute to catch my breath since eight this morning, but all packages save for orders that came in yesterday and today have been shipped.
I must now get a bite to eat and then be on my way to LACC.

Thanks for the photos of the "dreamcatchers", JRand56.

Yes Clowes Hall is still a great place to see a show. The acoustics are first rate. You can hear from every seat....not MANY sight line problems except in the upper reaches.
It's my favorite place to see a touring musical....the Murat is abysmal.

The B-movie luminaries attending the opening night of THE BRAIN IN SPAIN - oh wait, that's the sequel! - just keeps growing.
In addition to a Reform School Girl, and Puppet Person who was also The Queen of Outer Space, also in attendance will be the ORIGINAL Seymour!!
Kudos to DRMBARNUM for making it the night of a dozen OR MORE stars.

I don't think they're dumbing down to the audience at all. When they do that (not in every episode), I assume they're trying to attract new viewers who might not have been with the show from the start.
At any rate, to each his own.
-
In 15 minutes, I'll be heading east to Westerville. Don't know if I'll have computer access tonight or tomorrow.
Bye for now (and maybe until tomorrow evening).

The only "candy" I love that isn't chocolate is a Zero Bar.

I'm heading down now to clean the living room and then get back to last night's shows recorded but not watched as yet.
Even though NBC has renewed STUDIO 60 for the season, it didn't record any advance in ratings last night at all even though it had a huge lead-in from HEROES and CSI: MIAMI was a repeat. I'm thinking NBC may change its mind about the "back nine" episodes and curtail the episode order.
-

It was an excellent episode, although I pondered the possibility that it may be too "insular" re: the world of infotainment and all the machinery they have to contend with.
I also think the time slot sucks. After "Heroes," "Studio 60" takes an effort to adjust to.

Hello, all!
I had a very rude awakening at 5:30 this morning. Ociee, the little girl cat, lost one of her toys in a plastic bag. She crawled into it, and poked her head through the handles and couldn't escape. So she went flying all through the house in a panic. Before we could catch her, she ran under our bed, somehow turning on the dust buster in the process. It was extremely loud and frightened us both---we didn't know what was making that sound because the bedroom was dark.
Ociee was so scared that she just have done the cat spraying thing. So now after spending all that itme cleaning, my house smells like one of those that belongs to someone with "too many cats". Argh. It took an hour for everyone to calm down and all the cats to unpuff.

You've put me in mind of a double bill of my own, DR TommyovOz!!!!!
I'm quite in the mood for "Strictly Ballroom" and "Prisicilla, Queen of the Desert."
Priscilla's cast has enough rouge for you to avoid that other (almost "The Others" reference) show with the ex Mrs Cruise.
A fun double Ron.

DR Elmore, sorry to hear your troubles. When we did our "Ociee" scoring session, the orchestrators brought their own tables. They used computer programs to do the charts and portable printers and prepped the music on site because of our tight deadline.
I wish I could be there to help you. I've taped many a sheet of music in my time!

Half-Breed Wolf Dog Hero Rescues Elderly Owners From Snowstorm (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,234599,00.html)
Tuesday , December 05, 2006
By Liza Porteus
NEW YORK — When Eve and Norman Fertig rescued a sick, two-week-old half wolf, half German shepherd puppy from a breeder almost seven years ago, they'd never dreamed that the animal one day would save their lives.
"God is watching; he's watching all the time," Eve Fertig told FOXNews from her home at the Enchanted Forest Wildlife Sanctuary in Alden, N.Y.
He apparently was watching on Oct. 12, when the 81-year-old Fertigs were treating injured animals in the forest sanctuary on their property. One such animal is a near-18-year-old raven, while another is a crow who was shot, blind in one eye with two broken legs.
It was routine for the couple to feed and exercise the dozen or so animals there around 7 p.m. every night.
"While we're in there, the lights go out and I realized something's wrong," Eve Fertig said. "We go outside to see what's happening and down comes one massive tree … the trees came down across us."
The massive storm that hit upstate New York that night felled trees, blocking the Fertig's path to the other sanctuary buildings — such as the school and storage building — and to their home, which was at least 200 feet away.
"We were in big trouble. … I said to my husband, 'I think we could die out here,'" Eve said.
'The Most Heroic Thing I've Ever Seen'
The Fertigs huddled in a narrow alley between the hospital building and the aviary, where they were sheltered from falling trees. They couldn't climb over the trees without injuring themselves. Neither had warm clothes on since it was a clear, crisp fall day just a few hours ago. They hugged each other for warmth, since by 9:30 p.m., temperatures had dropped.
"I wasn't prepared for this … I thought, 'we're trapped, we're absolutely trapped,'" Eve said. "That's when Shana began to dig beneath the fallen trees."
The 160-pound dog that habitually follows her owners around — Eve likens it to "Mary had a little lamb," when the lamb went everywhere Mary went — eventually found the Fertigs and began digging a path in the snow with her teeth and claws underneath the fallen trees, similar to a mineshaft, and barking as if to tell them to follow.
A reluctant Norm said, "I had enough in Okinawa in a foxhole," referring to his service in World War II.
"'Norman, if you do not follow me, I will get a divorce,'" Eve said to her husband of 62 years. "That did it. He said, 'a divorce? That would scandal our family.' I said, 'all of our family is dead, Norman!'"
After Shana tunneled all the way to the house — a process that took until about 11:30 p.m. — she came back, grabbed the sleeve of Eve's jacket, and threw the 86-pound woman over her back and neck, which Eve described as "as wide as our kitchen shelf."
Norman grabbed Eve's legs, and the dog pulled them through the tunnel, under the trees and through an opening in a fence to the house, at which they arrived around 2 a.m.
"It was the most heroic thing I've ever seen in my life," Eve said. "We opened the door and we just fell in and she laid on top of us and just stayed there and kept us alive … that's where we laid until the fireman found us."
There was no electricity and no heat in the house, so Shana acted as a living, breathing generator for the exhausted Fertigs until the local fire department arrived the next morning.
Concerned neighbors — many of whom had children Eve taught — who couldn't get hold of the elderly couple via telephone throughout the night had called the Town Line Fire Department.
But when the fire department urged the Fertigs to go to the firehouse to take shelter along with 100 others, they told them they would have to leave Shana behind.
"We said, 'we don't go anywhere without her.' ... I said, 'we'll stay until the people are gone and we'll take Shana,'" Eve said.
So the couple stayed at home with Shana until Sunday, when the firehouse emptied out. During the three days in a house with no power, heat or hot water, Shana slept with her owners to keep them warm.
"She kept us alive. She really did," Eve said.
Also during that time, firefighters not only helped clear trees from their grounds, but they brought food and water for both human and animal.
"They kept looking at that tunnel and said, 'we've never seen anything like it,'" she said. "I can't thank them enough — they're heroes."
When they went to the firehouse Sunday, Shana followed the Fertigs everywhere, even to the bathroom. And she was 'spoiled rotten' by the fire crews there, Eve said.
She said the fire chiefs said her story of being saved by her pet rejuvenated exhausted fire teams. "The story, they said, just gave them new hope."

In poor taste, perhaps; funny, I think so.
University of Texas students set up an "ACLU Solstice Barn" on campus (http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53247)
In tongue-in-cheek deference to the American Civil Liberties Union, students at the University of Texas displayed an "ACLU Solstice Barn" on campus, featuring politically correct figures.
"We've got Gary and Joseph instead of Mary and Joseph in order to symbolize ACLU support for homosexual marriage, and of course there isn't a Jesus in the manger," said Tony McDonald, chairman of the Young Conservatives of Texas branch on the Austin campus.

A combinaiton. If it's instrumental, I usually choose. I chose all the music for the short film I've been cutting for the Turner film festival.
(Peter Gabriel, some Indian music, Galliano and Klaus Nomi!)
"Nothing Left To Lose" was chosen by a producer. Most of the pop songs they bring in with them, because they're younger and hipper than I am!
I'm using that song for a sales piece I'm doing now. Or rather, that I"ll do on my return, because now I'm on VACATION!

Have there been any comments (observations) about the use of "stand-alone" credit panes for the Closer main opening credits? I actually like the fact that I can actually read the credits without fear I'm missing some action (but I suspect I'm a minority voice).

We are back from another day of filling gift bags. It was a productive day. We had some new people show up (Anthony sent out an e-mail to friends who passed on the information). We went to Toys 'R Us on 44th and Broadway and brought over 1000 stuffed animals donated by the store. It was a zoo on Broadway, what with the Christmas season (and Charmin's free toilet facilities a block away) but we got our hand trucks full of boxes back to the Equity offices (after two trips). It was worth it. We don't have as many donations as in previous years but the folks will still get some nice gifts. Everyone gets a sweater, a hat, a scarf, a pair of gloves, a pair of crew socks and a bag of candy with a scratch-off lottery ticket (we have never heard in the 21 years we've been doing the project, if anyone has won anything). We then put in other things which we have acquired over the year. This year we have an assortment of CDs and Colgate Palmolive has donated 3000 units of Speed Stick (both men's and women's). We also have some nice shirts for both men and women and some unisex pajama bottoms. There are approximately 850 childrens bags included in the project (last yeard we made 2900 gift bags). The children will receive the stuffed animals along with some other toys, games and clothing. This portion of the Project is coordinated by the Barry Manilow Harmony Fan Club in New Jersey. Say what you will about Barry (I know many people, not necessarily here, think he's kind of cheesy) but these fans are a beautiful group of people. They work year long for these two weeks, buying toys and clothes to make sure the children (some with HIV/AIDS and others whose parent(s) or primary care giver has HIV/AIDS) have some kind of happy holiday.
The Project began in 1985 as a way to help performers living with AIDS/HIV so we always try to put special things in the Actor's Fund and Aurora (a supportive housing facility with a focus on performers, especially those with disabilities and those living with HIV/AIDS) bags. This year we received some low-end digital cameras so those clients will have a nice surprise on Christmas day. Also, one of the staff members at Actor's Equity has spent this past year knitting scarves. We have 100 hand-knit beautiful scarves which will be split up between Aurora and the Actor's Fund. I hope that employee gets a bonus!
I am tired but happy so I will check in tomorrow morning before I head out to midtown.

I'm really tired of feeling "sickie-poo." This post-nasal crap and the overall fatiguishness is quite rude.
I wonder if it was coming on anyway or whether the flu shot may have triggered it.
I've been fighting the same sort of thing for the last few weeks. I get better for a day or two, then relapse. And I don't do flu shots. A friend I'm collaborating with on a special project, who is quite young and hunky, is now sick for the third time. My theory is that the bugs are getting tougher. I'm using an herbal supplement containing lots of onion and garlic, among other things, and it does help. (Let's me have lots of time alone!)

Thanks! I'll tell*her*! It's funny because she's head of originals promotion and has been beating us over the head to hype things. (The most dramatic/unforgettable/exciting blahblahblah episode ever.) Then when she wants to do her own spot every once in a while, she makes an HBO-type combo spot like this. No hype! I didn't do this one but I did the "Good Days" one for "The Closer" and other longer pieces that run on TNT and in movie theatres. They promised we would be getting away from copying the networks and hyping everything, but I'll believe it when I see it!
My favorite promo spots are the ones Turner Classic Movies runs. I think they're really brilliant image pieces. Too bad they cut them all in house---I'd love to work on some of those!

Edisaurus it sounds like you had quite an eventful morning. As kids my sister and I once thought it would be fun and decorative to tie our mylar birthday balloons around the tales of our cats. Grouchy and Snowflake were frightened out of their minds and raced through the house frantically trying to outrun the balloons. They created quite a havoc before we were finally able to catch them and rescue them from the balloons. Boy was my mom pissed.

Last week was by far one of the most stressful that I have experienced at my job since I began. Monday started off pretty rough but ended on a positive note when two of my kids who had been antagonizing each other on the bus to and from school appeared to have reached an agreement to leave each other alone. And to my delight this morning, one of them told me that not only had they gotten along on the bus, but that they were actually on their way to becoming friends.

I am going to use the term unfluffed. It provides such a vivid picture in my mind.

I missed last night's season premiere of The Closer so I'm going to go watch it now. Probably I'll watch about a half hour then tape the rest while I sleep.
-
Good night everyone.

It was an excellent episode, although I pondered the possibility that it may be too "insular" re: the world of infotainment and all the machinery they have to contend with.
I also think the time slot sucks. After "Heroes," "Studio 60" takes an effort to adjust to.
I agree. In fact, I think it may have been the best of the season thus far: funny, witty, heartfelt, and with some real character development.
I agree about the timeslot, too. I can't understand why NBC doesn't see that MEDIUM would be a thousand times better match with HEROES than STUDIO 60 is. The two shows couldn't be any more incompatible.
-
Wow! I just read this http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15925692/ about David and Mary from TAR. After I watched last night's STUDIO 60, I caught up with Thursday night's SCRUBS's season premiere. Not one of the funnier efforts, and several of the leading actors playing patient versions of themselves in heavy make-up was a washout.

Next, I watched the documentary on TCM about the busy actresses who made films during the Pre-Code era. Lots of clips and talking heads but not much I didn't already know about. Glad I saw this 2003 documentary at long last, but it wasn't one of TCM's best efforts.
-
I rewatched the VERONICA MARS season premiere and enjoyed reliving the adventures. Good stolen goods case to get the season started. I see there's a special on next week. I hope the CW will reshow the other episodes in this mystery arc before the new arc continues in January. I'd like to see the other episodes again to piece together the clues that led to the identity of the rapist. There was only a tiny tip of information in the premiere.

I'm not sure how or when the debate about A Wrinkle in Time came up...
Simple :)
I received an Email from a friend with the Abbott & Costello Computer Store routine.
It had no attribution, so I did a search to find a source.
The search led me to the humor section of SuperKids (http://www.superkids.com/aweb/pages/humor/061604.sht),an Educational Site for Children.
The site a Reading List (http://www.superkids.com/store/amazon/books/young/) section which recommended A Wrinkle in Time.
It sounded like something for my Grandson.
I followed the link to Amazon where I also discovered a reference to Johnny Tremain, so I did a post asking if any DR's knew about the books.
Funny thing where this Internet gadget leads.

PS I also sent a link to the SuperKids site to the Grandlads third grade teacher (last year). She replied:
I enjoyed the word play, and I especially enjoyed being introduced to this site--I'll be able to use it to compile some educational activities for my students.
Many thanks
And so the networking grows!

Dear Tom:
So glad you got everything so quickly. I sent it Friday. It only almost took me a year to get you that Banana.
-
And with the price of Bananas here at about $3.50US a lb. - worth the wait and the weight. They were about $6 a lb a few months ago.
Cyclone Larry was to blame - not Cyclone Jose.

I am watching the November 6th episode of "Two and a Half Men" before tonight's "Boston Legal" comes on and Sarah Rue plays Berta's very pregnant daughter! She has really lost a lot of weight! And the way her hair is (short with flat curls) really makes her look different. I didnt't realize that it was her until I read the description.
-
It's also available HERE (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8585237962299802592&q=Internationale) on video.google.com. And you can download it...if you want. :)
Thanks, George. I didn't know that!
Last year, we found the entire film on a website, available to watch for free. It was a site we probably would have supported, but...well, they could have at least asked! We had them take it down.

Candy - see page one, Reply #14
Oh, I know...we have them here. I was making a sort of jokey reference to Grandpa Kritzer.
-
I somehow can't get the zeal up to start packing.... too tired. I guess I need a cat/dustbuster wakeup call!
-
I'm back, and to prove it, I'm here. Interesting day today and I'll have lots of details shortly.
-
Glad to see you are safe and sound..
-
It is cold here to night but not as cold as Sunday night..
-
Anyone put up their seasonal decorations?
-
George, do you have more shows of Cannibal this weekend?

George, did you get the situation concering the wet carpet resolved with the condo manager?
-
200!!
Vanity post!
-
Has anyone seen Jane lately?
-
Thanks for the vibes. I'm still packing, and staying up as late as DR Dakota!
-
We have Tuba Christmas here in Atlanta, too, at the CNN building. I have a lot of low brass playing friends (no comment on their character) who play it but I've never made it down to see it, yet.
Same here. My friend Phil invites me every year & every year I forget.

Yup...we have two more weekends left. Click HERE (http://www.olytheater.com/) for more information. :)

Yay!

I've stopped decorating for the holidays. With 4 cats....well...a recipe for disaster.
Maybe in the new house...
-
I can't believe this. I guess I got my wish.
Greg was cleaning up the magazine that Ociee has been shredding under the bed every morning in her attempts to wake us up early for her morning "treat". He got all the scraps picked up and into a paper gift bag with handles. Elmo, the curious cow cat, decided to look in there and...you guessed it...got his head stuck in the handles, freaked out and raced all over the house, this time, scattering all these little magazine shards. We would have been annoyed if we weren't so tired and just found it hysterically funny instead. At least he didn't turn on the dustbuster. (I bet forward-thinking Greg had already unplugged in.)
Am now in the process of unpuffing the other cats!
BK, see what you're missing by having no pets?

The problem wasn't with the condo manager, but the owner of the unit next to mine. I'm going with my sister tomorrow to get a new carpet and I need to talk to the renter (Amber) of the unit next to mine to see if her landlord (the actual person who doesn't want to own up to the damage that his condo unit caused) has done any repairs on her wall. I hope that he is going to get something done and soon so that the walls don't get all moldy and develop dry rot!

And since we're so close...

PAGE EIGHT AFTER MIDNIGHT DANCE!!
