Keith said the shape of the gray foxes don’t work for him.  This photo of a red fox seems more appropriate, and the tail is dark.  Probably the body looked darker due to the lack of light.

Gray, Red, it was definitely a fox.

And what kind of tattoos are you going to get? ;D

;D LOL, DR Edi!  I figured it wouldn't take long for someone here to make a comment like that!

No tattoo.  Not the kind administered with needles nor the kind performed by the Army band.  We got to the NW quadrant of the Washington Monument grounds, where the website said it would be.  The park rangers told us that it had been moved to Ft. McNair, 4th & P Streets, so we got a taxi to take us down there.  The MPs told Richard it had been cancelled due to threat of thunderstorms.  So the driver took us to the seafood row nearby.  We wandered around the markets and then went to one of the restaurants.

Even though I didn't get a tattoo, earlier this afternoon I did have my first ever in my life manicure.

My mother has emailed me and DS Rob has called to tell us about the power failure in NYC, but I haven't been able to find anything about it.

DR Cillaliz - sounds like you've left a workplace with as few manners as mine.  Several years ago, when I was off for 3 weeks with pneumonia, I got one (count 'em, one) get well card.  Your new environment, of your own vision and creation, will be just the opposite, I'm sure!

The orders are pouring in for Milla - four already.

I just put in my order. I think this is the CD I was lucky enough to get a preview of  when I dined at FJL and Skip's house with Milla and ??  oh, oh I forgot who else was there....   The point is it's a great CD and I'm really looking forward to hearing it again. And it was great fun getting to know Milla.

Cilla-Their nastiness just shows you made the right decision to leave.  The open house is a great idea.

Did you offer to take the cases with you?

Yes, I am taking 3 cases. Two of them are females who have been abused by paramoursand have real trust issues, they didn't want to change lawyers, especially to a male lawyer, (because of their past problems with men) plus they like me. So I'm taking them with me.  The other case is just sort of a mess and I didn't want to leave my client with someone who didn't know the history of the case. I had other clients who really wanted me to keep their cases, but I got their cases to a point where anyone can finish them. I also gave them my phone number and will take their calls if they are having problems with their new lawyer.

I am still taking court appointed federal criminal cases.  I will be on what they call the Criminal Justice Act panel. It's a list of lawyers who are allowed to take court appointed cases. You have to apply and have experience etc to be allowed to take federal appointments.  The states are generally a lot more lenient, but they pay a lot less money.   There are lawyers who make a living on these cases and my former boss wants to get me as many as possible to help me pay the bills in the beginning of my practice.   The judges and other federal court employees are all very pleased I'll still be taking the cases so I will still be in court from time to time.

The power failure was over by 5:00. I believe the news said it affected the East Side from 77th Street and up.

Yes, I took the toilet seat to Sardi's and checked it along with my and DR MusicGuy's umbrellas.  We had a lovely dinner interrupted by an unpleasant phone call from DR MBarnum, who will call me tomorrow morning from JFK around 8:30.  This gives me a chance to pull out the gin and start drinking. I will hopefully semiconscious by the time I meet him.

After dinner, I was forcibly taken to XANADU, which I found to be hard driving and arch camp in almost every aspect.  There is some wonderful musical staging and the band and vocal arrangements were great.  The whole show is silly to an offensive degree and all oerformances and attitudes are in quotations with an extremely high smirk factor. My beloved Mary Testa is outrageous as always and her Medusa is a sight to behold.  The audience seemed to love it but I found it a musical for people who think musicals are silly and campy.  Since someone paid good money for a ticket for me, I know I don't sound very appreciative.  I did laugh, sometimes against my better judgment, and I loved the company I was with.

DR Ginny, I was thinking that perhaps you and Richard should meet DR MBarnum and me around 5:00 at the box office for CURTAINS.  If there's any ticket problem, we should know before Friday so I can do some trouble shooting,

Thanks everyone for letting me vent over the past who knows how long. I can't believe it's finally over.  It just occurred to me I can stay up all night if I want to...lol. I feel like a kid having summer vacation. Even if it is only a short time.
