Around 11:00 I turned on the light and took a Tylenol with codeine since my leg was acting up. At 12:30 or so, I got up at eat a slice of cheese because my stomach was carrying on. At some time after 1:58 when I checked the clock, I feel asleep. So, it's 6:00, I've had about four hours slepp and I will be running about all day. Ut will be tough.

Macbeth, who's two years younger than I, seemed about 16 or so, which would make Randy about 7, although I think he was younger. I was pushing 70, I think, and we were living at my grandmother;s house, where we lived with my grandparents until I was 3 or 4. Also, my grandmother;s house was not on 10th Avenue in Middleotwn, but on a stretch of isolated farmland.

My first memory of the dream is my mother talking to a young lady named Kathy, who had broken into the house. Kathy was telling her about something happening at work - a dept. store, I think - and her dismissal. Then she left. My advice was that they should have called the police and that I didn't believe her story.

Then I heard a noisy fight coming from downstairs, so I put on a shirt and went down the stairs. Kathy and my parents were arguing, something about her boyfriend Kevin. My parents wanted to call the police, but Kathy was rather agitated and ran out of the house and across this huge yard and vanished. Once again, I pushed them to call the police.

Instead, my father went looking for her and M and I followed him outside. He wandered around calling her name, and she returned with a young man, Kevin, and both were dressed in winter clothes. I think there had been snow, I was some distance away, but I could hear the conversation with my dad get more angry and ugly when Kevin pulled out a gun and shot my dad. I turned to M and yelled call the police, then started running to the house. Inside I yelled at my mother to call 911, that dad had been shot and we needed help. I had to repeat this several times because she just stood there. After she went to the phone, from the window I saw Kevin shoot M. and I woke up.

Post by: elmore3003 on April 29, 2016, 03:47:22 AM: In my second dream I was buyig a vocal score to Offenbach's La Belle Helene - I think there was something before thins about operas in concert at Carnegie Hall - at a music store much like laye lamented Patelson's that was going out of business. The store was run by an elderly Japanese woman of whom I was clearly fond, so I must have been a regular customer.

As I left she followed me out to the street, wanting a favor: she was retiring to Japan, but she wanted me to help her son find another job. He had been working in film studies at one of Manhattan's film schools and was looking for something on those lines. I remember giving her some possible schools and libraries for him to apply and that's it.

CD - In the Heights, to better appreciate it when I see a local high school's production next Thursday. I saw it on Broadway at the end of friend Robin de Jesus' run, and enjoyed it, but retained nothing of its music. It's time for me to dip my toes further into that water.

DVR - Act One. I want to basically have this music in my fingers before running off to Ohio. It's not difficult, but a few of the cues are four-hand pieces and - sadly - I, at last count, have but two. I'll be working on how best to retain something of their rich sound. If I use my own keyboard, one or two can be pulled off via some judicious octave programming. I'd love to set up the others so that I'm literally playing both parts, but I don't think that can be done with what I have.

A couple of times a friend has asked me to come along when she drives it. Last time we were there, at The Cliff That Makes Me Very Nervous, we were parked just yards from the Cliff at a wide spot in the road, looking at the birds and such as, when an SUV came zooming along the Cliff, hit the brakes, and rolled completely over, coming to rest about two car-lengths from our vehicle. The 20-something boys seemed ok -- they all got out of the SUV -- but I will be especially nervous at The Cliff That Makes Me Nervous today.

Been having this craving, so I ran out to Bagelman, brought back an Everything and a Blueberry (I almost never indulge in that kind of bagel, but I was in a mood, I tell you -- oh yes, a mood). I lightly toasted both of them, polished off some cream cheese on the Everything and some Irish butter on the Blueberry, and washed them down with a couple of K-cups of dark roast coffee.

I expect to explode within the hour.

I've had to buy a few things through Amazon since moving here. It used to be convenient to stop at various stores for what I wanted and now it can be a special trip, much easier through the mail & often less expensive.

I only have the disc...no booklet or anything, but it looks like the then current 1999 Broadway cast of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" recorded 10 Christmas songs. It's pretty good. I would like to know more about it, though. I haven't been able to find anything. :-\

When we were in Sydney there was an ice cream place called Royal Copenhagen Ice Cream. Remembering how good the ice cream was in Copenhagen I, of course, had to have it there. I believe we went everyday for a scoop it was sooooo yummy.

Tuesdays is senior discount day at Chuck's Produce. The woman that checked us out asked if we wanted the discount. We were not insulted, but then we are old ;D

Watching it again was interesting - act one is just right and consistently running fifty-four minutes, which is perfect. Act two started out at an hour and five minutes and without cutting a thing it's now down to an hour. But watching it I made the decision to try something slightly different on Monday - cutting a short two-part Now and Then skit and moving the Vilanch sketch where that was. It solves a few problems - a) a cut and will probably bring us down to fifty-eight minutes. b) a better flow, I think. The unknown is going from a very long sequence (monologues with a song weaving in and out) about the gay experience, which ends with a huge choral anthem, right into the show's final song about the Sunset Strip. I never thought that would work, but I'm coming around to the idea now. The Vilanch sketch was between them but that just hasn't been feeling right.

Post by: George on April 29, 2016, 11:19:22 PM: Tomorrow, I'm working concessions for the same show. I have to be there by 11:30 am, but when working concessions we get to leave after intermission. Then, I'm going to my sister's house because our parents are coming over, too.
