Correction, all the travel photos are beautiful.   ;D

The food photos, on the other hand, are sublime.

And let us not forget DRs SWW and dB's infamous kitty litter cake.

My hunch is that Senator Craig would be horrified if anyone suggested that he is gay.  And, in a strange way, I think it is understandable - I don't think he recognizes this part of himself as anything more than "urges" or some other euphemism.  He probably dearly loves his wife and family, and every time an anti-gay bill comes up never once connects what those urges mean with what the bills are condemning.

Of course, now everyone is going to condemn him just as much as he's condemned gay people in the past.  Karma, baby.

Only, this entire incident still ends up tarring gay people as sexual perverts who haunt bathrooms.  The undercover cop is going to feel justified in what he's done, will probably be congratulated by his fellow officers and superiors, and will sally forth and repeat what he's done - why wouldn't he, when what he did has been encouraged and rewarded?

The cold reality is that neither the Senator nor the Cop have anything to do with those of us who self-identify as gay.  Neither of them would recognize who we are, other than within the narrow bounds in which they have experienced homosexuality.

Bleh.

That was der Brucer's infamous kitty litter cake.  I had nothing to do with it.

So has any DR ever had an Orange Julius?  We don't have them on the East coast.  I've found some recipes on the Web, but the idea of mixing orange juice and milk seems a little weird...   :-\

My version:

Put ice cubes in the blender
Add vanilla ice cream, orange juice. vanilla & blend it all together.
Yummy & much better than an Orange Julius, IMHO.

Jeanne, yes it is a powder, not milk.  Once I tried a raw egg & almost lost my Orange Julius.  I was sick for hours.

The stand across from the Bruin Theater made the best Orange Julius's.  I have no idea why they were superior to every other place.

Probably because they used eggs.  ;D

Offered him a Levain cookie...?

Possibly waved a basketful of cookies at him?

This is something I hadn't heard about.  But, I found this LINK to comments made by Miss Teen South Carolina.

Truly, though, I believe that if she is a true Southern Belle, she will handle it graciously.

;D

Thank you for sharing this.  I too felt bad for her.  I don't watch the show so I'm not familiar with the usual questions, however, I found it odd they asked it in the first place.

Hey, she gave it the old college try.  You have to give her credit for trying.  It's more than Alberto did in front of the Judiciary Committee!

RE: Big brother

Btw, re: DR RonP's comments about why america dislikes amber.  I personally think it was because of her comments and not because of any deal with daniele, or because of the way they depict her as dumb. Although it could very well be a combination. However, i saw her numbers go to 0.5% the day after her story broke on the news (which is why i attributed her lack of popularity to her comments).

I hadn't been following the popularity poll this year.  Still, it's strange that she's only now getting America's attention when her comments were made several weeks ago.

I think folks are just tired of her ass.

LOL-Only if you were dumb enough to request one. :P

I'm beginning to remember, they used extra portions of the powder & they might have slipped a bit of extra sugar or something else in there.

Yogi says thank you for the health vibes DRs Dakota &Singdaw.

I woke up dreaming about him.  I'll call in a bit if I haven't heard anything.  I expect it will take a few days to know if the antibiotics are working.

Given their previous track record, however, there is a possibility that you may be disappointed.   :P

Tomovoz I’m pleased to hear Peter is somewhat improved.  Three weeks in the hospital is a long stay, at last it is nice & he can walk around.  Continued vibes to him & to his partner.

Matt-I am enjoying your avatar.

The Miss Teen USA contestant plans on going to the same college where both my nieces graduated.  I think they might be able to locate the US on a map.

There was a hilarious Ohman cartoon in today's Oregonian re:  Gonzales.  He's a tiny little person behind a gigantic desk, saying, "I'm leaving this job to spend more time with my memory."   ;D

Aaaaand...there's no hot water in my building today. There are hand-written signs downstairs that just say, "Due to hot water heater not working, there will be no hot water in the building today. Thanks."

THANKS?!? Who're they thanking?? Shouldn't it read, "SORRY?"

Re:  Larry Craig.  Does anyone know if he's Mormon?  I'm assuming he is, being from Idaho and all.  Having grown up in SLC, I can tell you the Mormons are the most peculiarly homophobic yet rampantly gay population I've ever come into contact with (so to speak).   ;D
