I am currently on Canadapost online to figure out how much a package I'm sending will cost (I like to know in advance).

I had the craziest shopping day EVER today.

My mom and sis and I were at Zellers (it's a Walmart type store). And they had tons of discount clothing outside.  I was looking for kids stuff.  And when I asked the lady the price of an item (they are normally 50% off of the last price) she told me everything outside was $1.

Since this is totally crazy, I filled up my carriage (as did my sis).  She was looking for clothes for herself, and I was looking for kid's clothes for her niece.

When we eventually got inside, we were told that the sale was a big mistake, but that they would honor it for those people who mentioned it at the cash.

OMG, all the stuff I got cost me $31 (27 items). And it was probably worth like $500.

So it was a very good shopping day for me (well for my sister's niece who hopefully will be happy when she gets all her new clothes).

We have two DVDs in our collection. Three, if we ever remember where we put Amadeus.

I really like Saturdays. I think we should replace Monday with another Saturday.

I'm watching a Ronco infomercial. I love Ron's infomercials, but I wouldn't want to buy anything he sells.

BUT... Even though the Hamburger and Cheeseburger and Bacon Cheeseburger fall under the "Sandwiches" column, they still serve those between 4:00p.m. and 8:00 p.m.  At least they still did when I was up there this past spring.

Of course, that "news" doesn't really help DR Jane, so... ;-)

And then there's DR Jason's favorite, Ollie's, right off of Times Square.  -I like it too.

Oh, and if you want to do Italian, there's my other favorite, Becco.  You could make a nice meal - vegetarian or otherwise - out of their antipasti alone!  The fresh ricotta with freshly cracked black pepper and honey is soooo good!

And if you want to splurge a little bit, there's the Greek place, Molyvos up a few blocks...

Hmmm.. It always comes back to food... And housing... (sorry, that was sort of an "in" theatre contracts "joke")...

Hmmm...

???

Well, on that note, I'm going to start making my way to the theatre.  I'm going to make a stop by the Filipino store down the street, and, hopefully, pick up a copy of the Filipino newspaper to send back home to my parents...

You are welcome Matt H.  Now I hope Jeanne doesn’t increase in force.

Sandra, are you meeting new people at school?  I know it can take longer, if you are even interested, when you are local and not staying in a dorm.

The setting of bk's reading was lovely and the audience was not huge, but it was a select crowd with impeccable taste. I took a few photos....

Ugh!  Been sick with a sore, drippy throat and low grade fever all day.  Whatever this is, it started yesterday in work where I had a headache and felt so lethargic I thought I was going to fall asleep a few times.  I'm trying my best to do absolutely nothing this weekend to rest up and get better.

TOD:

I organized my CDs just a few weeks ago, so I have a good idea of what I have.  My collection numbers in the neighborhood of 900, with approximately half of them being musical theatre related.  I also have a number of (*ahem*) unconventionally obtained show related recordings that, instead of burning as music CDs, I've been storing as MP3 files wheich are then burned onto CDs or DVDs (I can get multiple recordings on one disc that way.)  I have 50-plus of these recordings.

As far as DVDs are concerned, my collection is probbaly just approaching one hundred.  I try to be very selective on what I buy these days.

My VHS collection also numbers in the hundreds, but I never did an exact count on them.  I'm hoping to one day transfer the rarer recordings to DVD.

Here is a closer view of The Author. You'll note his interesting fashion choice for the event - a mic earring.

Next is DR Pogue, pouring himself a cool glass of wine while listening to The Author reading KRITZER TIME. A perfect way to spend an afternoon, no?

And finally, here I am, just before the reading, eating my glasses, but thinking that perhaps I should dip them in ketchup for a more enjoyable taste treat.

My malaise is effecting my eyesight--I thought BK was holding up and reading a menu in this pic.

An outside reading can't be easy.  I would imagine that you have to project much harder to contend with the wide open space while at the same time retaining the "voice" of the reading.  I hope there weren't too many competeing noises from street and sidewalk traffic.

Signing was fun, although I don't recall actually signing anything.  We did sell a few books and I always enjoy reading, but these stores, despite a huge lead time, simply don't do anything to promote these events - shameful really.  That, plus the Jewish holidays.

My Bollywood movie for this weekend is: PYASI SHAM (1969).

Two cousins are in love with the same gal. When the girl decides on one cousin over the other the father of the loser goes ballistic.

I bought this one because it was supposed to have my favorite Bollywood actress Helen in it. She is in the credits...but, I couldn't find her in the movie, other then one scene where a guy grabs a cardboard dispay off of a store shelve and it has a picture of Helen on it! Humph!

Ok, I went through my Cds and DVDs...I have around 370 DVDs...however some DVDs have multiple movies on them.

Of those 370 DVDs there are 75 Bollywood DVDs. Of those I have watched 54 of them...with 20 left still to view.

There are 137 unwatched DVDs of various genres. Most of my movies tend to be B films from the 30s, 40, 50s, and 60s. Lots of Sci-fi and horror and mystery.

For CDs I couned around 290. About 1/3 or more are Bollywood soundtracks, the remainder are lounge music, easy listening from various decades, Big Band, and a handful of movie soundtracks. Also several Christmas CDs.

TRUE!

But the menu is hidden in his book he's reading from!

Can't wait for BK to put his books on cds! He has no idea how good this would be for Foreign College students -- or anybody else... --  to learn English and enjoy his writings!

For a moment I thought Jane had been into the cooking sherry - then I looked at the photo again. It DOES look like I'm wearing a pink hat. Very fetching. And I've always thought pink wasn't my color!

So what did you guys think about Drew's decision? I knew that Big Brother would make it so he couldn't throw the comp.

I will say this though. He is so dumb if he thinks Diane would get more votes than Cowboy.

I thought he was wrong, but am I right, am I left, North, South?

I never liked Drew; preferred Vince or Ivan! But then Josie is kind of sweet!

Oh, Sandra! I've found your copy of Amadeus!
I'm the one who borrowed it the other day and forgot to tell you! ;)
