Kind of like these here notes, hopefully.
-
I gotta tell you.

Will we never get to page two?

My favorite Pizza in the world
http://www.woodyspizza.com/index.cfm
Woody's Pizza is the oldest existing pizza restaurant in Northwest Iowa.
In 1961, Woody and Mae Condon started their first restaurant in Estherville, with four tables, an eight seat counter and carry-out service. There was no alcohol served. It became a gathering place for the young people of Estherville.
In 1980 they sold their restaurant to their son, Anthony.
The staff at Woody's Pizza have maintained a dedication to quality product and service throughout the over 45 years since Woody made his first pizza.
This dedication continues at the original store in Estherville. This dedication includes fast, hot, delicious pizza and sandwiches regardless of Eat-In, Carry-Out, or Home Delivery. This dedication also means that we want you to feel like a friend and a family member every time you enter our stores.
At Woody's Pizza, this dedication is a tradition we deliver in every order. Guaranteed. You have our word on it.
It's thin and really cheesy. They have also served alcohol for years and years. They cut it in litte squares rather than pie shape. Don't know why that seems to make it better, but it gives you lots and lots of pieces of pizza
-
DR Sandra's favorite place near the university has good pizza that you get by the slice. I like the chicken and basil pizza.
-
I do love the Thai Chicken Pizza at California Pizza but for regular cheese and tomato sauce pizza I do not have a particular favorite place...
-
When my nephew Adam worked at Woody's, he started making sausage and saurkraut pizzas alot. They are wonderful and I swear you can feel your arteries clog with every bite
-
Well unfortunately the weekend is over and I must be at work in the morning so later gators!
-
Time for me to get some sleep too. Night
-
Yes, vixmom, you're one of the twenty-five - only a few left for the special something deal, so act now or forever hold your piece or your peace or your peas.
-
John Travolta and Nicholas Cage set to star in sequel: FACETIAE.
-
Well, what an evening DR Jose and I had! A lovely walk up 5th Avenue, some shopping at Best Buy and Barnes & Noble, and then a nice stroll over to Rachel's for dinner.
After dinner, and after trying to get DR Cason and BJ to come out with us (which they avoided by not answering the phone), we made it down to Splash Bar NYC for Musical Mondays, where we, per usual, had a great time. To top it all off, though, tonight's special guest performer was Tony Award winner Melba Moore, who performed a medley from HAIR as well as "I Got Love" from PURLIE, which was AMAZING. The old girl's still got it!
A good time had by all. And by all, I mean Jose and me, because DR Cason shunned us.
-
Good Morning!
What DR Jason just said.
-
Hmm.. Now I'm wondering if the reason I haven't DR Cason at the callbacks I've been playing is because he doesn't keep his phone on. ??? Hmm...
;)
-
-And by "shopping" at Best Buy and Barnes & Noble, we mean looking for things that they should have had in stock but didn't. Or, as the case was at B&N, constantly running over to the Search Kiosk to look up who wrote what classic novel. I believe we're ready for "Jeopardy!" now.
-
"A Day In the Life of Ivan Denisovich" was written by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Not Leo Tolstoy or Dostoyevsky.
-
And as for Rachel's, well... -First of all, it's the sister restaurant to Pietrasanta. Secondly, their "Mac & Cheese & Mac" was OK - it's was topped with ground macadamia nuts - which really just added more texture than anything else. And the Vermont Cheddar they used could have been a bit sharper. However, the Herbed Meatloaf which DR Jason ordered was quite dee-lish.
-And June Allyson kept watch over us while we ate.
-And the school-teacher and her friend sitting next to us had a nice conversation about office procedures, education materials, online sex sites, S&M, slings and swings, classic porn movies, and the Microsoft Office Educational Edition.
-
Proust's "Remembrance of Things Past" is one long ass read.
-
And while at Splash - which, by the why, was a totally free (as in cash experience tonight) - I happened to run into some friends from DC who are now living in New York, as well as some of the usual theatrical suspects as it were, as well as John Kander's assistant.
And Ms. Melba Moore certainly still has it!
-
DR TCB - I think it was DR TCB who wondered about my Simpsonized self.. Well.. After your initial makeover, there are other options you can add on or subtract. Just keep clicking.
-
Michael S - The Boy from Oz did not allow them to be filmed for the documentary which is why they're not included. There was one other show that season that also refused to participate, but I can't recall which one it is right now.
-
Oh.... And before I met up with DR Jason at Grand Central, I ended up taking a nice walk through Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, Union Square, Gramercy Park and midtown East.
While walking through Chelsea Market, a guard stopped me and told me I had to turn around and go back the way I came in since all the stores were closed. At the same time, another person was coming from the other direction, and he was told the same thing. The building's main doors on both 9th and 10th Avenue were open for anyone working there today - Amy's Bread's commercial kitchen, the Food Network, etc. But we were both told to turn around and exit via our respective entrances. Whaddup widdat?
-
Jose - Are you on for Starfighter tomorrrow?
-
Hmmm... Too bad I didn't arrange for some sort of residual from the recent spike of Eldar CDs last night. ;)
-
Jose - Are you on for Starfighter tomorrrow?
Yes, I am. 10 or 11? -I have it written down somewhere, I'm just not sure where. :-\
-
...And then I'm playing ACL tomorrow night too. And I must[/b] remember that it's a 7:00pm curtain tomorrow night, not the usual 8:00.
-
Jose - I assume 11. They're starting the day at 10:30 but only using one room for the 10:30-11 half-hour, then splitting off into two rooms at 11.
-
As for favorite pizza - and I believe DR Jason enjoyed it too...
matchbox (http://www.matchboxdc.com/) in Washington, DC's Chinatown area. A very good pie. -And the Angus Mini-Burgers with Onion Straws make an excellent appetizer - or meal if you prefer. -And their Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding is also one my favorite desserts.

I'll let that picture of the Spicy Meatball Pizza serve as the Page Two Dance.

Ah, yes, 11:00. Thanks for the confirmation. And, of course, I just found my notepad with all the info.

bk - With the linoleum floor you could also very easily run into bad ankles as a result of all the tap-dancing on those linoleum floors.
-
OK - I must get some sleep. Now.
Goodnight.
-
Goodnight, Jose. Play well tomorrow!
-
Michael S - The Boy from Oz did not allow them to be filmed for the documentary which is why they're not included. There was one other show that season that also refused to participate, but I can't recall which one it is right now.
I figured that out. I mean they didn't even show Hugh Jackman at the Tony Awards. Although I think there is a brief glimpse of him on a tv monitor walking backstage.
-
The two other new musicals were Bombay Dreams and Jackie Mason's Laughing Room. There is some footage from those musicals if I remember correctly.
The revivals that year were Fiddler On the Roof, Wonderful Townand two shows that never actually played Broadway: Assasins & Little Shop Of Horrors

Well, the drilling of my sister's shelf unit went well. I also had to drill some holes behind her cable box to make more room for the cables coming out of it because it stuck out too far and would prevent the sliding doors (that I had yet to install) from closing, but it was just very thin particle board-type stuff and was easily drillable. BUT every time I drilled those holes, I hit the drywall behind it. :o SPOO!!! It's all hidden and it otherwise worked, so my sister doesn't care. :) She could tell that it'll never show and she won't have to worry until she decides to change everything around, which won't be for quite a while.

The cats decided that it was just fine to make lots of noise a little before 5:00 AM, which woke me up and made me realize that even with a window open, it was very hot in the house. So I got up and turned the air conditioner on, but I can't seem to get back to sleep...so I guess I'm up for the day

Good morning, Ben!
Good morning, slingblade!
Good morning, Arnold!
-
Good morning, DR TCB! I'm still reading last night's posts, after I wussburgered so unseemily. [Is that a word? :)]
-
I had a terrible night's sleep (or lack thereof). I am feeling very depressed this morning. I think I may just call in today, and stay home.
-
Last night, we had one of the most incredible thunder and lightening storms I ever remember seeing in the Puget Sound region.
-
From DR Jane last night:
Singdaw, I don’t see the ride you described… (http://www.ryeplayland.org/RidesAttactions/index.htm).
Their site needs to be updated and made more attractive.
DR Jane: It's the first one listed, SuperFlight. The photo is not a very good representation. You hang from the track, suspended in a horizontal position. It's fun, because you can't see what's coming. And it whips you quite close to the ground, the metal frame of the ride, etc., as well as upside down.
And I agree, the website is very poorly designed.
-
There used to be a Pizza jernt midtown,I believe between Broadway and 6th Avenue(upstairs) called THE HEROINE. It was thin crusted and came in rectangular slices. I don't think it exists anymore but my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. Do any of our New Yorkers remember it?
-
And the word of the day is: FACETIAE!
Kind of like these here notes, hopefully.
And the song of the day: THOU SWELL

Good morning to all. We are back from a very nice and relaxing time on Long Island.
I have much work to do but before I go
Belated Birthday wishes to all who had natal day experiences whilst I was gone.

I will be heading to the TheatreMania Booth at Virgin Times Square to purchase tickets for 3 NYMF shows, you may have heard of them:
The Brain from Planet X
Such Good Friends
The Last Starfighter
If anyone has heard of these shows please let me know ;)

Thank you, Mr. Blade, I just may do that.

Also, this one is serious, has anyone heard of an Off-Broadway show called, I believe, Cut the Ribbon or Cut the Ribbons? A friend of mine is looking for a copy on CD (I doubt that exists except among some ootleg-bay owd-cray) or music from the show. She said it starred Donna McKechnie.
Any information would be appreciated.

For some reason, the words "Virgin Times Square" should never appear in the same sentence.

I once wrote a musical called CUT THE CHEESE, but it never did smell sell.

Good morning, all! I have little to report; I first run down to Toyland for a few items, then up to "The Brain" rehearsal. and after that, hopefully, an apartment move with the Gilfrys.

I'm up and shaved and must shower in about ten minutes.
My favorite NY pizza jernt is sadly no more. When I first began producing CDs at Varese, I sublet Mr. David Shire's apartment, which was located on 9th St. just east of Sixth in the Village. On the corner of Sixth and 9th (the southeast corner to be exact) was a pizza jernt that hands down had the best pizza I've ever encountered. We had a little wrap party when we finished Unsung Sondheim and I got the pizzas from there and became hooked. A year later it was gone.

South Jersey Area: The King of Pizza in Cherry Hill, NJ. My favorite pizzaria. I've been going there ever since I was a youngen. Huge pies with generous toppings and a very distinctive flavor to their sauce.

Tuesday morning greetings. We had one of those calls in the middle of the night (1:30am, to be exact) notifying us that DH Richard's mother was on her way to the hospital. Richard, who hadn't been in bed very long, got up and went to meet the ambulance. I'd been asleep just long enough to be wide awake and had just gone back to sleep when Richard came home. I came into work half an hour late and left him snoozing. My mother-in-law was admitted for the 3rd time in a month, having not been back to her apartment between the last time and this morning - she's been in the rehab unit at her retirement community.

Did my workout to Jason Graae again, and will soon depart to do errands.
First, let me thank DR JRAND for his lovely comments last night about me and my Hollywood family. It was my uncle, actually, Ed Fitzgerald, who did a lot of Gale Storm's cinematography (Lassie's, too) and always talked about from which side someone photographed best.
As for Hedy Lamarr, no connection there that I know of. Sorry, TCB. :(

Jack, thanks for the link to the review of Cut the Ribbons.
If the nice lady at the post office in Selden (on Long Island) is correct, you should have something in your mailbox today or tomorrow.

Try going to lunch with a group of social workers who will continue to graphically describe their latest child abuse cases, while you and the people at all the other tables lose their appetites.

I thought that stuff was confidential, TCB.
We often get email reminders at my workplace: There will be visitors in the building today. Please be mindful and do not discuss confidential client information in elevators, hallways, the cafeteria, or any public area.
Since recent information privacy bills were passed, they won't even allow visitors to the building onto floors where sensitive information [social security #s, etc.] is handled.

I'm back from a "Brain" rehearsal and in a crabby mood. I can't say that I'm having a good time working with the MD, and I don't like getting into pissing contests to mark territories. I will spend today finishing up what's left to be redone. After which, I can pick up copies of the original parts for the adjustments to redo them with the changes.
To add to my unhappiness, I got to the new studio space, went to the fifth floor and there was no one there. After waiting for a bit, I called the stage manager to learn the rehearsal was on the fourth floor. Then the manager who's an ass showed up and I complained about sitting there wondering why there was no info on where things were rehearsing. He showed me a sign that said "Martian Entertainment Room 401." How did I know that Martian Entertainment was"The Brain?" So, I went down to the fourth floor and I'm looking for 401 and when the cleaning man asked, I told him. He pointed down a hallway so I went that direction. The jerk didn't know where 401 was either, but I did come to an office so I bitched to the people in it about the stupidity of the Roy Arias rehearsal studios. It turns out that 401 was in the direction I originally headed, and when I got there the door was locked. They must have been alerted that by this point Godzilla was looking for Tokyo. When I left, the cast was relocating to Nola Studios.
The Gilfrys are indeed moving today, but since it's basically four suitcases with furniture arriving later by delivery men, I will stay here and work.
-
I thought that stuff was confidential, TCB.
No names are ever used, and no confidential personal details are discussed.

Well, that weekend sped by! Wow, it's already Tuesday. Happy belated (and some not beleated) B-days to DR. Ron, Matt and Joy.
Yesterday, the DP and I had a few friends over for a Labor Day BBQ. We made three kinds of ribs: Beef ribs with teriyaki, pork ribs with Michael Chiarello's espresson BBQ sauce, and just some pork ribs with some seasoning People brought sides and such and the DP made two jars of Sangria. Everyone had a great time. It was weird having a party on a Monday and not our usual Sunday, so it's throwing us off as to what day of the week it is.
I guess I'm off to get a haircut.... toodles

From Vixmom:
Did you know that sneakers are called "pumps" in England? It caused no end of confusion 20 years ago when I was talking to my then soon-to- be-Sister-in-Law and bridesmaid when I told her that she need to get dyeable pumps which would be dyed to match her bridesmaid gown... she couldn't figure out why the Yank her brother was marrying would pair sneakers with Victorian style gowns

Michael- It's probably impossible.You would have to land promptly at 3:00 and then there is traffic
-
Michael S do you expect your plane to arrive on time?
A little naive in thinking it would.
I should take an earlier shouldn't I?

DR Ginny, I was so crabby earlier I forgot to send my concerns about Harriet's current state-of-health. Because I've known her since I was around 12, I always see her in my mind's eye as a healthy active woman. She was always kind to me but she was fierce! Please send her my love and good wishes.
-
Michael, I think Mr. Brockman is correct. Even without getting luggage it would be very difficult to get to 42nd Street between 9th Avenue and Dyer Avenue (the location of the Acorn) by 4:30. It's rush hour both ways (coming and going to Manhattan) plus there will be lines for taxis. If you're at JFK and take the AirTrain (which would avoid the street traffic) you still have to get to the facility, take the train to Jamaica and then take the train (either LIRR or subway) into the city. If you're at LGA you have to get through the traffic in any form, bus, car service or taxi and most of them come through the Mid-Town tunnel which lets out on the east side. You will have to get across town from around 38th Street on the East Side to 42nd Street and 9th Avenue.

~~~~~VIBES TO DR GINNY'S M-I-L~~~~~
-
DR Michael S - The travel time from LGA to JFK is about four or five exits worth. ;) -I'd say 30 minutes max terminal to terminal if there's no construction of traffic delays. But since this is New York City, well...
As for getting from JFK to the Acorn, well, I'd say you could just make it. But that would only be if your plane lands on time, and you make it right out to the sidewalk to catch a cab. I've made it from JFK to Times Square in 28 minutes - and the cabbie wasn't even speeding, so... It's all about the traffic and catching the lights.
-
Another question:
Oooo, DR Michael S, if you do try this, you're much braver than I. Having tickets for the Brain on Sunday at 8, we're flying in the day before, just to be sure we make it. We probably could have waited until Sunday morning, but I didn't want to risk it.
Well, aren't you the pushover for change at any price. I found the frequent "back and forth in time" cuts annoying - I felt they broke the rhythm of the show.
I would also say that the opening bits of Buzz taping were getting tired, but the bit with him getting jabbed by the pole saved the scene.
It does, but I fly out of JFK when i go to Ireland and back. So in order to get back to Florida using Spirit I will have to switch airports and I want to make sure I have enough time to do it. Right now it looks like I have several hours to get from one place to the other.
DR Jane,
I would probably like it more if I didn't dislike courtroom dramas so much. But I will say this was pretty true to life - more so than a lot of other shows as far as what happens in the courtroom, so I'm open to seeing where it goes from here
That is so very true of a lot of us, Ginny. We all think we have world-shattering problems, but most of them are merely speed bumps on the road of life compared to what so mnay others are going through in their lives.
-
I too was feeling grouchy and crabby and "oh poor me" -ish this morning, followed by being mad about something stupid. Luckily I didn't see the person I was mad at so now that I realize it is a problem but not earth shattering, I will deal with the situation much better.
DRJRAND - are the stars goofy or something? Why did so many of us wake up feeling this way?
-
Time to call it a day. I wish it wasn't so blasted hot out..I'd do a little painting. Guess I'll just have to relax instead.
-
I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but our very own Rodzinski has a new THE LEADING MEN (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/110730.html) column...and it includes an interview with The Brain's very own Rob Evan!! I won't post the whole thing, but here's the pertinent information:
ROB IN THE HOOD
Last month I mentioned Bruce Kimmel and David Wechter's 1950s comic sci-fi valentine The Brain from Planet X in NYMF, and who should get in touch with me, but Rob Evan, late of Tarzan, recently cast as the lead in Brain. Evan is, of course, a former Jean Valjean himself, and a former Jekyll/Hyde, not to mention a former college football player at the University of Georgia, the alma mater of yours truly.
Question: So you're diving into The Brain from Planet X.
Rob Evan: Yeah, man. I'm psyched. I read the script, and it's hilarious. The best time I ever had in my life on Broadway was doing comedy in Little Shop of Horrors. I was lucky enough to do one of the first workshops of Bat Boy, so all of this is kind of reminiscent of that kind of zany camp that I love to do, that I rarely get to do. I do a lot of more dramatic parts. It's fun to have a good time being in a satirical piece like this.
Q: It's different than Jean Valjean?
Evan: Little bit. [Laughs.] You know, I love doing it. It's a trip. I've really been looking forward to working with Bruce Kimmel because I've known of Bruce in passing for years, but I've never gotten the chance to work with him, so when they just out of the blue offered me this, I was thrilled.
Q: Were you a fan of fifties sci-fi films?
Evan: Yeah, you know the famous Ed Wood film, "Plan 9 From Outer Space"? This is "Plan 10 From Outer Space." I was a big fan of "Mystery Science Theater 3000"; that was when I was coming up and ad-libbing to movies and stuff — it was a trip.
And then at the end of the article, it has this:
[NYMF, the New York Musical Theatre Festival, runs from Sept. 17-Oct. 7 at various venues in the city. The Brain from Planet X will be at the Acorn Theater at 410 West 42nd Street starting Sept. 20. Visit www.nymf.org for a full schedule and ticket info.]
Back from a very hard but good rehearsal. As elmore intimated, our new rehearsal digs are very problematic, and I basically said to all concerned that it wasn't acceptable to me. We moved back to Nola, and will be in the same small room tomorrow, but they realized they completely screwed up with us (the piano was totally broken when we arrived today), so even though we're in the small room tomorrow there will be a Marley floor for us (so we can tap dance), it will be clean, and there will be a working piano. Then we move to a much larger space in the same complex (one they neglected to mention to us when we originally booked them) - we're getting credited for all of today, and for all of Saturday, when we'll be at Nola again. Mostly we'll be in this bigger space from now on with one or two exceptions.
We have the happiest company but somehow the whole room vibe this morning just sucked the energy out of everyone, and as soon as I saw that, I threw my little hissy fit.
-
BK, thanks for the invite. Do you want to come up to the Upper West Side? I can't say I particularly want to schlep into midtown.
The conflict with the MD has to do with parameters on who's doing what beyond musical direction - I offer him no threat there - and I think he's a swell MD.
I LOVE my new computer set up. I had to take parts of a desk I saw over at Office Depot and add parts to it but it is EXACTLY what I envisoned. It is sooo comfortable.
It is great to be able to put my feet on the the foot rest I bought and the keyboard is at just the right height but I can ajust it anyway I want it to be. The desk is on wheels so it's easy to move and the CPU is on it's own little holder with wheels so if I need to get behind it to plug/unplug something, it's easy to get to.
That is how I feel about JAP (Jewish American Princess). I don't know when the expression became popular. I heard it for the first time when I was in my twenties and was asked if I was a JAP. I get very upset when I hear Jewish women joke about it. And yes, I tell them so!
I've never heard that phrase as JAP. I thought that was short for Japanese and that was from WWII.
Danise, you paint like I do.
-
I'm back from a yummilicious dinner with BK: we both had mac & cheese and cornbread, I also had a salad, and a few bites of a humongous slice of delicious coconut cake.
Our Mr K was in fit form from his trek up to my neighborhood and the conversation covered a multitude of topics: we both agree that the Brain cast and crew are quite swell and there were other interesting things that I cannot yet mention.
-
I've never heard that phrase as JAP. I thought that was short for Japanese and that was from WWII.
;D So you can imagine my shock when I was asked if I was one. And then I was extremely insulted. At the time I was putting Keith through college and working weekends for extra money. Did I say extra, there was no such thing as extras, not very often anyway.
-
That is how I feel about JAP (Jewish American Princess). I don't know when the expression became popular. I heard it for the first time when I was in my twenties and was asked if I was a JAP. I get very upset when I hear Jewish women joke about it. And yes, I tell them so!
I've known several Jewish American Princes as well. Oy!
-
Hi Danise!
Hi DearReaderLaura! So you use the "splash it everywhere" method as well?
-
Yes, some of it hits the walls. If I'm lucky.
-
I've known several Jewish American Princes as well. Oy!
AS WELL! DR elmore, it is a good thing I love you so much ;D
-
Hi DR Elmore!
-
((((((((((((((((((DANISE!!!!!!!))))))))))))))))))
-
AS WELL! DR elmore, it is a good thing I love you so much ;D
Dearest Nursie, I've known several JAPs of both sexes in my long life, but it was never a term I would remotely associate with you. I hate to tell you, but you and DR PennyO (where is she dammit?) have nothing in common with the breed.
-
Danise, I'm very impressed with everything you do, including assembling computer tables.
The last time I attempted to paint Bryan was almost two. Keith left for work and by the time he had returned there were about 4 swipes of paint on the wall. Just teasing, I managed about 1/4 of the wall. Most of the paint was covered in dog & cat fur. For an additional touch there were little finger prints.
I was still having difficult breathing from the paint fumes.
-
Hi DR Elmore!
Hey, DR Danise! It's good to see you online. I just want you to know that you and Nursie will be missed at the end of the month. Did you see the photos of Michael Ball in HAIRSPRAY in London?
-
Yes, some of it hits the walls. If I'm lucky.
I have to say I was most pleased with the paint I bought. It covered everything-- ceiling, walls, floors, dogs, me--with one coat.
-
DR Nursie, you need a comma: "The last time I attempted to paint, Brian was almost two." I wondered why you wanted to paint Brian! :-*
-
...you and Nursie will be missed at the end of the month....
Truer words were never spoken, DR Elmore!
-
Hey, DR Danise! It's good to see you online. I just want you to know that you and Nursie will be missed at the end of the month. Did you see the photos of Michael Ball in HAIRSPRAY in London?
Yes, Dear TCB emailed me a picture of him. All I can say is OMG!
-
Truer words were never spoken, DR Elmore!
And what am I? Chopped liver (or mac & cheese)?
-
Dearest Nursie, I've known several JAPs of both sexes in my long life, but it was never a term I would remotely associate with you. I hate to tell you, but you and DR PennyO (where is she dammit?) have nothing in common with the breed.
:D And I bet you have known plenty of non-Jewish people who fit the description.
Before there were "JAPS" non-Jewish women often told me Jewish men make the best husbands. I suppose one fact might create the other ;)
-
Truer words were never spoken, DR Elmore!
:'( I wish ALL of us could be there!
-
And what am I? Chopped liver (or mac & cheese)?
Feeling unappreciated are we? ???
My biggest concern isn't getting you to NYC, it's getting you out of pain and discomfort! Then we'll worry about getting you to Manhattan.
-
:D And I bet you have known plenty of non-Jewish people who fit the description.
Yeah, but their sense of entitlement isn't quite so intense!
-
DRS elmore & Ginny, you are so very sweet. I'll see you in Michigan.
elmore-LOL, I might have painted Bryan if I wasn't the clean up person.
-
Vixmom, How is the Vixter and VixDad? Please be sure to tell them I said, "Hello!". I'm sorry for the bad phone connection the last time you called.
-
Before there were "JAPS" non-Jewish women often told me Jewish men make the best husbands. I suppose one fact might create the other ;)
DR Margaret Mead, I think the sociology falls apart there. I can think of many Jewish men and women who would/could/did make wonderful spouses. JAPS are a completely different breed. I think JAPS beget JAPS.
-
I have to tell you all about my alarm clock. It's digital and is starting to mess up. I now have times like: 10:99. It still goes off at the correct time but I think I shall have to replace it.
-
;D I think Keith is a great husband, but I have to say I was rather surprised the first time I heard that.
-
Feeling unappreciated are we? ???
My biggest concern isn't getting you to NYC, it's getting you out of pain and discomfort! Then we'll worry about getting you to Manhattan.
And we mustn't forget TCB's layover in Pittsburgh. ;)
-
Now I must go over and feed the fish in the fountain, since the sun is going down.
That sounds like a song lyric. ;)
Have a good evening, DRL! Nice seeing you again!
-
elmore, I read that as can't think, not can.
-
DR Margaret Mead, I think the sociology falls apart there. I can think of many Jewish men and women who would/could/did make wonderful spouses. JAPS are a completely different breed. I think JAPS beget JAPS.
Nursie, let's take Keith as an example: he strikes me as a total non-JAP. In fact, it's my observation that the several Princes I've known are essentially drones set up on thrones by their mothers.
-
Bye Danise. SLEEP WELL!
-
And what am I? Chopped liver (or mac & cheese)?
We'll miss you, too, DR TCB!
-
My mother never pampered us. In fact the only time I remember her making a big fuss over me was once,when I was sick & she scared me so I thought I was going to die.
-
elmore, I read that as can't think, not can.
No, Nursie, I can think of many who would make wonderful spouses. I can't think of any JAPs who would!
-
Hi TD, what is the weather like in Pittsburgh? Is it starting to get cool yet?
-
And we mustn't forget TCB's layover in Pittsburgh. ;)
If I layover in Pittsburgh, I may never get to Manhattan!
-
We'll miss you, too, DR TCB!
Thank you, DR Ginny.
-
Nursie, let's take Keith as an example: he strikes me as a total non-JAP. In fact, it's my observation that the several Princes I've known are essentially drones set up on thrones by their mothers.
I know a young prince now going to NYU who is the apple of his mother's eye. I much preferred to socialize with his sister, who was clearly considered by her mother to be much less important than her brother.
-
If I layover in Pittsburgh, I may never get to Manhattan!
I guess it all depends on what you're lying over.
-
We just had a call from my mother-in-law. Aside from sounding funny because she has a tube down her throat, she sounded much like herself.
-
Bye Danise. SLEEP WELL!
I guess I should hit the hay but I do notice a differene with the machine. I don't feel half as tired.
-
Have you heard about something called Second Life? I'm just watching something about it.
-
I guess I should hit the hay but I do notice a differene with the machine. I don't feel half as tired.
Don't be a stranger!
-
I wish I could afford to fly you up here Danise. YOu ahve been very missed
Unfortunately I have been reliably informed that I have not yet hit the Mega Millions Jackpot so a Vixmom financed HHW reunion is not yet in the offing
-
Danise, the Vixter starts high school on Thursday
my baby! :'(
-
Hi TD, what is the weather like in Pittsburgh? Is it starting to get cool yet?
It's been so comfortable for the past few days, but, I do believe an Indian Summer is on its way. . .
-
No, Nursie, I can think of many who would make wonderful spouses. I can't think of any JAPs who would!
ROTFLOL!
This conversation is not doing what I intended to do, which is to discourage the use of the expression JAP. ::) ;D
-
Danise, the Vixter starts high school on Thursday
Wow! High School! How time does fly. :o
my baby! :'(
-
How did I do that?
-
Danise, the Vixter starts high school on Thursday
my baby! :'(
You will survive, DR Vixmom! ;)
-
Good news DR Ginny!
Gosh, the Vixter is growing up so quickly. High school ALREADY!
-
We just had a call from my mother-in-law. Aside from sounding funny because she has a tube down her throat, she sounded much like herself.
That's good news! :)
-
DR elmore, I was the apple of my mother's eye. My poor sister who was far from it.
-
ROTFLOL!
This conversation is not doing what I intended to do, which is to discourage the use of the expression JAP. ::) ;D
Perhaps you would prefer this definition
Dani, did you get the new mattress yet?
Rats, just my luck. ;) Ye old Hegerty Millions are missing as well. It's a conspiracy I tell ya!
-
:D Thanks DR Vixmom, I like that.
-
VIBES for Ginny's MIL and also for Richard's Mom!!
-
Hi Cilla. I enjoyed reading your take on the courtroom scenes.
-
DR elmore, I was the apple of my mother's eye. My poor sister who was far from it.
Nursie, you're the apple of many eyes.
Just for you, I won't even start on my repertoire of JAP jokes.
-
I donlt care WHAT you say TCB - I am sending you more
~~~~~~~~ Pain Free Shoulder Vibes~~~~~~~~~~
so there!!!
-
ROTFLOL!
This conversation is not doing what I intended to do, which is to discourage the use of the expression JAP. ::) ;D
That is true. The term has been used more in the past two pages, than in the whole history of HHW.
-
Rats, just my luck. ;) Ye old Hegerty Millions are missing as well. It's a conspiracy I tell ya!
I blame Jose
-
VIBES for Ginny's MIL and also for Richard's Mom!!
They're both most appreciative, I'm sure ;) !
-
Dani, did you get the new mattress yet?
Oh, I forgot to tell you about that. I didn't get it.
It had to be able to go in the front door, through the hall door, into the bathroom (directly across from my door) then turned so it would go into my room.
I just couldn't figure out a way to get it into my room. My boss said it was one piece and couldn't be taken apart. Considering it was extra long, there was no way.
I called it off because I didn't want to pay the guy to deliver it then have to pay him again to take it back.
-
Hi Cilla. I enjoyed reading your take on the courtroom scenes.
CLOSER SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jane. I loved the way the defense lawyer stupidly "opened the door" to excluded evidence and Brenda drove a truck right through it.
-
Considering how mixed up last night was and how sleepy I've been all day, I can't believe I've managed to stay awake past 10pm. Must be the scintillating company here!
However...
'night!
-
Yogi seems to be completely recovered. They took him to see Niagara Falls & he had a good time. I think Craig & Ioana might have had a more relaxing time but they were not about to board him again, not until they find a better kennel.
-
Oh Elmore, I forgot to say thank you for the name of the Tudor author and books
Thank you!!!
-
Hi DR Danise!! Glad to see you. Congrats on working on the house. It's a lot of work but very rewarding
-

I just had an image oin my minds eye of your son and his friend trying to "board" , that is, ride on, Yogi Bear to travel home from Niagra Falls
-
I blame Jose
That darn, Jose, always causing trouble! :)
-
VIBES TO ANYONE WHO WANTS OR NEEDS THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Danise, the bed would probably have been too narrow anyway.
-
Good evening!
How nice to have been missed today. My phone service went out about 9 this morning, and only came back a little bit ago. I have a lot of computer sites to surf, so let me get to it. I jsut wanted to catch up with the doings here before I proceeded around the rest of myusual net stops.
-
Hi DR Danise!! Glad to see you. Congrats on working on the house. It's a lot of work but very rewarding
Hi right back at ya! And it is rewarding as well as a bit painful.
-
Oh, one thing that isn't right is that they have omitted "So help me God" from the oath. Now it's just "Do you swear or affirm that the testimony you are about to give is the the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth?"
-
You will survive, DR Vixmom! ;)
but, but I am not ready for her to grow up yet....... :'(
-
LOL-Vixmom. I don't think Yogi would permit anyone to board him.
-
CLOSER spoiler:
We thought that was great too. Her expressions were wonderful & she did give him every opportunity to realize his mistake. Was this also realistic?
-

Do you still put one hand on a Bible?
-
Danise, the bed would probably have been too narrow anyway.
To be quite honest, I wasn't really sure about it. A twin when I'm used to a double. Not to mention that Bear has slept with me since the first night I got him. He wouldn't understand why he couldn't sleep with me anymore. He's old and I would never want to hurt him.
He's having enough trouble with missing Mom. He's my shadow from the moment I step in the door. He's laying beside me as I type this.
-
Nursie, you're the apple of many eyes.
Just for you, I won't even start on my repertoire of JAP jokes.
;D Much appreciated.
-
CLOSER semi-spoiler:
We thought that was great too. Her expressions were wonderful & she did give him every opportunity to realize his mistake. Was this also realistic?
Yes and no, most cops would just have looked at the prosecutor and answered the question, she was much more dramatic. But if you file a motion to keep out evidence and you ask questions that "open the door" then the evidence can come in.
-

I think you made the right decision I am glad that the machine is helping you sleep
-
Do you still put one hand on a Bible?
Nope. Just raise your right hand. The only Bibles I've seen in the courtroom are my client's or a spectators
-
Well it's almost 10:30 (can you believe it?) but I guess I do have to go to bed.
Good night to all!
-
I think you made the right decision I am glad that the machine is helping you sleep
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!
'Night. :D
-
'night Danise. I'll be leaving as well.
-
But first, Cilla has every state dropped the bible & changed the oath?
-
Good Night Danise, Goodnight Janie!!
-
Yes and no, most cops would just have looked at the prosecutor and answered the question, she was much more dramatic. But if you file a motion to keep out evidence and you ask questions that "open the door" then the evidence can come in.
This actually makes figuring out how to ask questions an art. You want to dance around issues sometimes without explicitly asking a question that can only elicit the answer of what you didn't want in evidence. You also have to be careful to advise your witnesses what they can and can't say, if they spill the beans or if it's evidence you want in that is excluded and you ask the question that elicits the answer...it's usually a mistrial.
-
But first, Cilla has every state dropped the bible & changed the oath?
Not sure, but I think so. I've been in courtrooms since 1986 and have never heard the old oath or seen a bible sworn upon
-
I was at a mattress store. My back/body desperately needs a new mattress. I think I have found the one I want. It is one of those high pillow top mattresses & Sherlock shouldn’t be jumping on and off such a high bed. For now, I’ll keep looking.
The drive home took me right past Baskin Robbins & I have over-indulged with their new heath bar something. It is toffee ice cream with heath bar & caramel.
-
I had to swear an oath in court. I was so nervous I would burst out laughing I can't swear to the fact their was a bible or the oath was to God. I thought it was.
-
I must wash the dishes or Sherlock's bowl won't be clean for his breakfast.
-
Not sure, but I think so. I've been in courtrooms since 1986 and have never heard the old oath or seen a bible sworn upon
Hmm looks like they still do say "so help me God" in some places, but I know I haven't seen a Bible in a court room
-
No comment on my almost laughing attack. Have you ever seen that happen?
-
Lots of people laugh when they are nervous.
I did a google and it looks like there are a lot of places using "So help me God" that's interesting
-
Well, kids. I gotta run...Laters..
-
Night night Cilla!
-
If I had started laughing I would have lost control. ;D
'night for real.
-
Have caught up with everything I missed today on the net and am now heading down to bed.
Good night.
-
DR DANISE the painteress was here!!!
-
If that DRJOSE shows up around here, tell him to turn around and go out the way he came in....just like Helen Lawson.
-
DR td - I keep forgetting to tell you how much I like your new avvy.
-
They posted an updated press release on All That Chat for us, mentioning Rob and Amy. As you may remember, last time they posted our press release (a second time, just as they did for Such Good Friends, which was right below us), a freak named "westcoastdrama" came on and posted a nasty and negative and completely unnecessary post. Now, we've never seen this guy post in ANY other topic on that board. So, when this release appeared earlier this evening, I posted a humorous post after it, saying I hoped that westcoastdrama wouldn't be too miffed, and then linking to the Playbill article.
True to form, the freak posted something really nasty again - again, I believe I know who it is and when I get back to the West Coast there will be some REAL drama if I'm correct. He acts as though these releases are coming from ME personally - I do think people see through what he's doing, but he's obviously trying to create negative buzz about us, and why? To what end? Is this peckerwood such a loser that that's the only way he can get his kicks? Because only a complete failure would do something like this.
-
I think I will watch FLYING DOWN TO RIO in about an hour or so.
I watched THE SNIPER earlier today....and it is very strange to see Mr Arthur Franz, the hero of INVADERS FROM MARS playing such a crazy mean bad person.....and very well too.
As MR BK wrote when we discussed this film earlier this summer, there are a couple of jump out of your seat moments.....
-

Where is the link to the Leading Man column? Doesn't DR RODZINSKI still write it? I think I missed something.
-
Allison Hayes Dance for whatever page this is. ;D
-
Oh yes Page 13.
-
I think all of the ladies from HHW should wear this outfit when attending THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X.
-
Or this one. ;D
-
DR td - I keep forgetting to tell you how much I like your new avvy.
Awwww......shucks..... ;)
-
Rio calls.....
-
I hope MISS KAREN'S press night goes well....her show just got started.
-
I think all of the ladies from HHW should wear this outfit when attending THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X.
Here is a preview
-
And of course the men of HHW will be attired thusly
-
hmmm it appears Jack went to Rio just as the fashion show was starting
-
all by myself.... don't wanna be .......
all by myself anymooooooooooooooooooooore
-
I warn you... I will sing to you some more if you don't help me post
-
my singing abiltiy is such that I found I can get the Vixter to do any number of things by simply threatening to sing to her if she does not obey
-
oh all right then... I guess I will just go to bed and let you all chat amongst yourselves
after a collective sigh of relief of course
-
Good Evening!
Whew!
-
-That was a "good" Whew with a hint of "I'm tired since it's been a long day" Whew!
-
DR Danise - Good to see you again! And glad to hear things are continuing to fall into place for you. -And your "dalmatians" gave me a good laugh too. :)
-
DR TCB - I have a food disorder?!?!?!?!?!? Can I help if I just happen to know every bakery between Houston and 145th, and Fifth Ave. to Riverside Drive? Well... -Nevermind...
-Would you like some Monkey Cake?
-

Oh no...the Enabler? I knew we hadn't seen the last of the likes of you!
-
So..
bk - If you're not cabbing it down to the Metropolitan Room... Take the 1 Train to Columbus Circle. Transfer to the B or D Train to 42nd Street/Bryant Park. Transfer to the F or V to 23rd Street. Walk about a block and half to the Metropolitan Room. -Or you could take the 1 all the way down to 23rd too, I guess, and walk over the two blocks.
-
Oh no...the Enabler? I knew we hadn't seen the last of the likes of you!
Pick up your phone lately, DR Cason?
:P
-
Pick up your phone lately, DR Cason?
:P
::) I left that at home too.
-
I heard it for the first time when I was in my twenties and was asked if I was a JAP. I get very upset when I hear Jewish women joke about it. And yes, I tell them so!
Oh stop whining - ii's so sterotypical ;D
der Brucer

...And before I go to bed.... Whew! I really am sleepy... I received some more pics from my sister-in-law of my nieces and nephews... So....

To start off, here are some pics from their last summer weekend at the Beach...
