Well, you've read the notes, you've read them from top to bottom or bottom to top, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they'll be here either at the beginning or the end.

BK, if you need a vacation: Kentucky awaits!
How much of a geezer am I? I'm gazing at my internet news headlines on my Adelphia home page and see one that says DION RETURNS TO PERFORMING AFTER ILLNESS. And I'm thinking: "How interesting, Dion Dimucci of Dion and the Belmonts. Ruby, Baby; Runaround Sue; The Wanderer; Donna the PrimaDonna; The Majestic; Teenager In Love; Abraham, Martin, and John, old Bronx Doo-wopper Dion. I go to the article...they're talking about Celine Dion.
I mean come on! Who would you rather see perform? No contest...The "why must I be a teenager in love?" guy!

TOTD: I'm hoping for my copy of "The Passenger" to arrive next week. It was an Arthouse movie that I thought was wonderful at the time. Other favourites (mentioned here in other topics I think) were "David And Lisa" and "Allegro Non Troppo".
"Death In Venice" still tops my list.

I liked Cash Cab. It was fun. Emphasis on the past tense. We just downgraded our cable service and the change went through yesterday afternoon. We now get only broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, NBC and the locals plus the two PBS stations 13 and 21) and a few extras like the local New York all news channel, TBS, the Food Network and all three major shopping channels. No more Cash Cab. I just got tired of paying $58 a month for crap (pardon my French). This change pares my bill down by more than half (about $23 a month with the exorbitant fees and taxes). If we got good reception I must admit I would gleefully throw the cable box out the window and watch it smash into a million non-recyclable pieces on the street below. Only in my dreams though, since in reality I would have to return said box to the less than loved cable company.
I'm now listening to Mr. Robert Goulet in the OCR of Camelot. C'est Moi! Playing Mordred (in 1975, oh my) was so much fun.
-
Good morning, all! Did I miss the TOD in today's notes?
I'm still pondering the Enron film, and it certainly colored my dreams last night: paper shredders, suits with briefcases, Or was that my last IRS audit?
I've got to hang around here today waiting for Rob Fisher to pick up this chart, packing, determining which books and what work to pack, perhaps some banking. Tonight I'm seeing OH, LADY! LADY!, a 1917 Jerome Kern-PG Wodehouse-Guy Bolton Princess Theatre show which is quite funny, although I'm not crazy about the group doing it. Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Anyone heard from DR Jose?
-
Anthony auditioned for Oh, Lady! But they didn't cast him. Oh, well. Their loss.
Mr. Simbulan should be back in New York since there are performances of Lestat (unless it was closed and they didn't tell anyone)
-
Speaking of Celine Dion, and DR Pogue was, I just this morning woke up and found in my email box "Happy Birthday from Celine" only with an accent over the e in Celine. Thinking back, back when Celine Dion was the Vegas white-hot ticket, I joined Team Celine for a nominal amount to get access to better seats at decent prices, and they must have asked for my birth date, but either I entered the wrong date or they found out that I've extended my birthday celebration through Sunday. Very nice of Celine to take the trouble to send a personal email :) with all that's going on in her life.

C'est Moi! Playing Mordred (in 1975, oh my) was so much fun.
After I played that role in 1965 (Monterey, CA), I presumed the show was doomed for all time.

I played Mordred as well.....in 1991. I liked everything except my wig.
And I loved being so mean in the GUINEVERE song....that was MY favorite part of the show!

One thing after another.....don't you hate when they get out of line and one thing gets in front of another?
I didn't watch LOST.....WOW moment explanation please.
I watched STARDUST which I enjoyed and learned a couple of things about Miss Bette Davis....or was reminded of a couple of things I had forgotten.
TAR.... MOJO just doesn't get it. I don't have a favorite team of the other three right now. IF I had to choose, I guess it would be BJ & Tyler..
-
Art House films....well THE SINS OF ADAM AND EVE sent to me recently by DRMBARNUM...whew!
But I guess in the REAL sense....I would say:
DAVID & LISA
LILITH
and more to add when other DR's post their lists.

Does Dirk Shafer's MAN OF THE YEAR count as an art-house film? :)

Art House films
That's the TOD? Well!
Juliet of the Spirits
The Virgin Spring
King of Hearts
The Threepenny Opera
The Baker's Wife
La Kermesse Heroique
Marat/Sade
-
I didn't watch LOST.....WOW moment explanation please.
It was an episode controlled by the accountants - in an assumed effort to control salary costs, the cast size was significantly reduced. (Of course Abrams in both "Lost" and "Alias" takes a page from Spelling's "Dynasty" - there is no such thing as "dead forever" 8)

Well, JRand, Jorge Rivero is sort of a masterpiece, wouldn't yous say?!

I've been thinking about that. I've been expecting to see Boone or Shannon rising from the grave this whole season.

I'm sure financial considerations played a part in the decision to eliminate the two characters last night on LOST, but one must remember that these were also the two women who were arrested and convicted in separate DUI incidents in December. In fact, "Ana Lucia" chose to serve time in jail (five days was the sentence though she ended up serving about 2 1/2 days) rather than doing community service work - the very thing that can't be tolerated in the long, expensive production days on a hit drama. I think the producers decided to cut their losses with these actresses, especially since the original intention (according to the executive producer) was to have a romance between Jack and Ana Lucia, and those plans were definitely abandoned.
Cynthia Watros (Libby) had already signed to do a CBS sitcom for next season, but though she was listed in the pilot as a guest star, the part was clearly going to be a regular. COntract demands for LOST kept her from being listed as a regular on the new show until the end of this season's LOST. Anyone reading between the lines knew her days as Libby were numbered.

There was that kid who, after a late night kegger at the lake (and after making out with the Sherriff's daughter), saw the light in the water and was pulled in by one of the creatures. The next morning he was obviously a hybrid. I think he went on to hook up with that bad girl hybrid.

Michael fired it into his arm. The coming attraction shows him with his arm in a sling.
I've just read where the LOST producers and writers are claiming that this had all been planned from the very start of the season and was not the results of the two ladies' DUIs. I think that one way or another, some bamboozling is going on. I mean, who who in their right mind would leave a megahit like LOST to go star in some CBS sitcom?

I think Michael shot himself in the shoulder (from the previews, we see him with his arm in a sling). This allows "survivor Michael" to set up a faux scenario in which Ana Lucia is overtaken by "Henry Gale" who gets her gun and shoots her, Libby and Michael...and Henry gets to escape while Michael stays behind -- as PLANNED by HENRY, I'm thinking (since he's so complimentary of "the big guy", he must be talking about himself).
Michael will stir things up -- he's been brainwashed, dontchaknow!

Another bit of LOST Bamboozlement: a few weeks ago, in the episode where Henry Gale admitted to Locke that he had not entered the numbers into the computer, they had a quick shot in the comming attractions of the countdown clock set at some ridiculously high number like 265, which led me to believe that Locke was going to let the countdown expire to see what happens. And yet, in the following episode, no such thing occurred.
I'm telling ya, we're being fed peanuts!

THE AMAZIN' RACE SPOILER WARN----aw heck! I think everyone watched this one last night...
Hmmm...evil, evil, evil. Coming from all teams except Ray and Yolanda, who ran a clean race and sashayed themselves into a comfortable win (I wish they got had received a better prize, though.)
Karma bit the other three teams in the ass. I am most disappointed with the Hippies--stirring up dissension like that is not the way to win this race. I think their attempt to play MoJo against the Frats was worse than the Frats cancelling the taxis. It truly was unseemly. At this point, I think I prefer to root for Ray and Yolanda (I like how Yolanda moves and I enjoyed Ray's reaction in coming in first last night.)

I'm looking forward to my mini-vacation in San Diego next Wednesday to Saturday, but am finding that the work that I had to do prior to going just refuses to get done. I was aiming for trying to get it done by Monday, so that in case the client has questions, they'd be able to get resolved on Tuesday before I go. But given some of the computer program issues involved, I may have to work on the weekend to meet that goal. (Does it count as a real vacation if you had to work on the weekend before it in order to make sure you can in fact get away?)

Vixmom - Since I only get paid for the hours I actually work (although I'm certainly not complaining about that deal, since they're very generous), taking that week would just cost me money. :) Definitely not their fault that these things are happening, though, just unexpected problems with an outside computer program. But it is odd to HAVE to do tax work on a weekend not in tax season. :(

Re: last night's LOST.

OMG. Wow! That was totally shocking.
And that was even though I accidently found out that Ana Lucia would get shot.
But I had not idea that Michael would do it (i wonder if the Others forced him to in order for him to get back Walt).
Re: the actresses being eliminated because of the DUIs. THat was my first thought. But my sister saw the woman who plays Ana Lucia on Good Morning America today. And she said that she was told when she first got the job that her character would die.
Also she was on Regis and Kelly today. And they also asked her when she found out she was leaving the show. And she explained how hard it was for her not to tell anybody. She went into a lot of detail.
Oh apparently on GMA Charlie Gibson asked her directly if her departure had anything to do with the DUI. ANd she said she was absolutely positive it had nothing to do with it.
I'm glad he asked her point blank.
Anyhow, totally shocking show. After i heard she would get shot i was thinking that the guy in the hatch would do it.

brainwashed --- or, it was a condition of the Others in order for him to get Walt back. He's doing it because he HAS to save his son.
You may be correct...but I'd like to think the Michael "we knew" would never murder anyone for any reason. There's no reason to suspect/suppose Walt is in any danger...only that "the Others" wanted him and now have him. Michael wanting to get him back is the main issue we've been presented...so, if Michael is willing to murder anyone and everyone, I think something is wrong.

Got the brochure for New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, only 15 minutes from Manhattan. Re: TAR.

I watched it over at my sister's house and she was completely disgusted with the frats for cancelling the taxis. I personally wasn't happy about it, but didn't think it was the most horrible thing to do.
I have had it with mojo. She was so mean to the hippies. And she was going to yield them (i'm sure). ANd then she had the nerve to cry about it when they yielded her. What a baby. Really dislike her now.
I loved it when the hippies past mojo at the end. But what was the bj/tyler guy thinking. How stupid. 1)he knows he has to outrun mojo so he doesn't wear shoes. 2) he knows it is probably non-elim and yet shows up at the finish with shorts and no shoes instead of piling on all his clothes (assuming he had any from losing it all last time).
I was disappointed mojo outran them, but happy it was non-elim. Although i would have loved to see mojo lose their money.
Oh and re: the frats. I think that losing their taxi sort of evened things out.
I am still not crazy about ray and yolanda. Just because they have not been mean to anyone, I cannot see why so many of you seem to like them. They have been bickering at each other for weeks (one week it was so horrible). AND they are not even very good at the game. They've come in last almost every week.
Re: the hippies. Yes they were mad at mojo. But i don't think they were as bad as you guys think. Sure they yielded them (but at this point you almost have to). And they did get out of mojo's taxi (i wouldn't have). I really don't get why mojo thinks they are so bad. They seem so funloving.
Btw, I'm glad this was a non-elim, since 3 teams arrived at the mat together. That would not have been right.
-
Moving along now!
-
The one thing I disliked about last night's LOST--the bar scene with Ana Lucia and Jack's dad. I've never seen people drink hard liquor like that except in badly acted college plays. I know the scene wasn't just about their getting drunk, but the constant business of SIP, EXHALE, SLAM GLASS ON BAR, PICK UP GLASS, REPEAT just got on my nerves.
And I get annoyed when my nerves are got on.

Yes, I am a true suburbanite, unsophisticated cretin as I do not see the value of it, and I would not have felt flatterd by the rendition had I been the aforementioned mistress!

Now THIS I could see paying good money for....

My favorite part of the backstories is seeing how everyone is connected. Watching Ana Lucia with Jack's dad was neat. And seeing Sawyer pass their car at the bar was interesting.
Oh and watching Jin and Jack at the flight check-in, with Ana Lucia there.

For moment, I thought that the woman Jack's dad was arguing with was going to turn out to be Charlie's mother. But that would have been too much. Or would it?

"But the painting, when you start looking at it, is full of these awkward moments…. That body is, to me, awkward. The head is hopelessly small, compared to the huge vastness of torso, which is rather unpleasant."
And the belly button, which is placed dead in the middle of the composition, "is the biggest belly button in the history of belly buttons,"
Well, it seems Van Dyck likes 'em big:

I'm just in the middle of reading this recap, and they are wondering who the mystery child is.

I actually thought that the blonde woman looked a lot like claire. Could it have been her mother? (meaning jack and claire would be siblings?).

I played Mordred as well.....in 1991. I liked everything except my wig.
And I loved being so mean in the GUINEVERE song....that was MY favorite part of the show!
I never played Mordred, but I was in a production in 1991, also! What a coinkydink! ;D

I am listening to Spaceagepop.com and they just played an amusing song called DON'T SQUEEZE THE PEACHES sung by Gerry Woo (music by Jack Costanza).

DR JRand, this episode was the LOSTiest LOST this season!
And now that I think about it, it also had little commercial time. I watched it on time-delay, and I was amazed how quickly I zapped through the commercials.
-
And speaking of commercials, did everyone catch the commercial for The Hanslo Organization? I'm guessing that if you called the 1-877-HANSLO number you get some kind of clue to that contest that DR Jennifer mentioned last week.

Back from our extra long class, which was fun. It was audition day - some people did really well, some of the usual suspects totally screwed up, and a couple of people who haven't done that well in the past really stepped up to the plate. Our pianist also had some good things to say to the kids in terms of behavior in an audition room. We then ran the two numbers that have been staged, and they've really got them down in terms of movement, just not musically yet.

I was shocked - at myself for not caring one little bit about Nadia's death. It reminded me of a melodramatic fall though a window or something that might have happened on DYNASTY, completely bogus and manipulative and desperate. I'm only surprised they didn't film the fall in slow motion.
At this point with the doubles and faked deaths and repetitive switches of allegiance (Sloane), I'm over it and hanging on ONLY because there are only a couple of episodes left.

I auditioned for the role of Mordred in 1982, but I wasn't cast. I was offered ensemble, but I turned it down.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Bette Davis documentary. While not much of the information was new, it was nice seeing the talking heads paying her due respect, and I did enjoy seeing Davis in a succession of interviews on various TV programs over the decades.
I did think it was VERY pretentious to subtitle the heads with their continuously changing Oscar nominations/wins. We know who James Woods is without being reminded he was nominated for an Oscar a couple of times. Same with Ellen Burstyn and Jane Fonda and the others. And why not subtitle Charles Busch with "Tony nominee" or Jane Fonda with "Emmy Winner" instead of just giving Oscar the sole credit for importance, as if it is.

LAW & ORDER had a very interesting case dipping deep into political waters, usually making for excellent dramatic episodes. This one certainly was.

Tuesday's SCRUBS had a more somber episode than usual. The show always has humor, but there was more than a tinge of serious about it this week.

According to national records, Hernandez was born on May 3, 1878, in one of the country’s central provinces, where she gave birth to 13 children. She now has 60 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.

Yes, Rose. Married to Bernard.
Rose (L. Scott Caldwell) is a recurring character...in the first season, she was stubborn in her belief that Bernard, who had been in the rear of the plane when it broke off in flight, was still alive.
Turns out she was correct. And she and Bernard were reunited early this season when folks from the tail section reuinted with folks from the nose section.
Both Rose and Bernard figured prominently in an episode a couple of weeks ago.

There was that kid who, after a late night kegger at the lake (and after making out with the Sherriff's daughter), saw the light in the water and was pulled in by one of the creatures. The next morning he was obviously a hybrid. I think he went on to hook up with that bad girl hybrid.
I remember this guy, and it's not the scenario that I remember with Jesse.
Last night, DR George wrote:
" I quite clearly remember the son, Jesse, becoming a hybrid. Does anyone else remember this plot point?? If I'm remembering it correctly, how come he doesn't know that he's one and why isn't the show treating his character as one? OR am I totally remembering some other incident or something else incorrectly. Help!"
I don't believe Jesse has ever been converted into a hybrid. The bearded guy fell in the water and the aliens began "to hook into him," but he was pulled from the water before they could transform him. And Jesse's stepsister went into the water deliberately to become a hybrid but because she wasn't a perfect physical speciman, she was rejected by them.
If I'm incorrect about this, I'm sure someone will give you more accurate information.
Thanks. Hmm...I don't remember a bearded man, but I remember a scene with Jesse walking around the beach naked, not knowing what happened to him. I don't remember an attempt at hybridization not working on him, though.
-
SPOILER Potential!

The son, Jesse, is not a hybrid. His uncle, Dave, who has wild hair and a beard, is one who went in the water and had brief contact with a "creature." In a later episode, his "double" -- deformed and pitiable -- was a key feature, and died...but Dave (brother-in-law of Eddie Cibrian who plays Russell -- married to Dave's sister, Larkin) is completely human.
Jesse has never had an alien encounter in the water.
One boy, however...Derek, a friend of Kira (human), daughter of the Sheriff, Tom (who is a hybrid)...was at a party in the second or third episode. He was drunk and rambunctious. He went into the water. He was later found naked on the beach...and had become a hybrid.
Derek was later sent by the Sheriff to a training camp. He escaped with a dangerous female hybrid named Christina. They mated, she became pregnant and they were both apprehended the Sheriff and returned to the camp Tom set up for hybrids on a small island. Both were shot/killed about three weeks back by a man named Zura who has betrayed the Sheriff and is planning to wipe out humans in the town of Homestead.

Back from a large and late lunch at Casa Vega. Food, as always, was yummilicious, but I'm now feeling very logey. Somewhere between five and six I head over to the editing room. We have to output a complete tape again tonight because the DVD authoring person doesn't have a digibeta deck - just a beta sp deck, which is fine. We also found out that the way we've done the letterboxing wouldn't enable us to have a true 16.9 widescreen DVD, so when we output tonight it will be an anamorphically squeezed full frame image (with our cropping) and then the authoring guy can encode it for 16.9 and regular tvs will have the letterboxed image.

Busy day at work, catching up on phone calls and emails and getting ready to be gone for another 3 days. I'm off tomorrow to Wooster, OH, for the state convention of the American Association of University Women.
After a quick dinner tonight, DH Richard washed my car and filled the gas tank; then, while he mowed the front lawn, I vacuumed the inside of my car and cleaned the windows on the inside. Tomorrow, I will have 3 lady passengers, so I wanted it to be all spiffy for them.
-
Living off of a dirt road the car always seems to be dirty.
-
The phone rang, I answered & a recorded voice kept telling me scripture this and scripture that, so I hung up. I have no idea who was calling.
-
Ginny do you enjoy going to conventions?
-
Jane, I grew up in a town and a county with a LOT of dirt and gravel roads.
-
THank you DR Laura and I wish Sandra well with hers also...
-
Ginny do you enjoy going to conventions?
Usually, yes, Jane. I will be particularly interested in this one because, as 2006-08 state co-VP for program, I'll chair the committee that plans the next one (and the one after that - yikes!)
-
Twice before, in Pennsylvania & Michigan, we lived off of dirt roads. Periodically trucks would sprinkle oil on the dirt to keep the dust levels down. What a mess!! In Michigan it was also dangerous when taking the last stretch of the dirt road, before hitting the paved portion which just happened to be downhill. A couple of times, no matter how slow I drove, I slid right through the stop sign at a semi busy intersection.
-
Ginny it sounds exciting and a ton of work to come.
-
Yes all LOST fans know Rose! I wouldn't say that she is a lead actor on all the time. But she usually has a scene each episode. And like DR RonP said, she had an episode devoted to her backstory.
I really like her and it was extremely moving when she was reunited with Bernard!
Also the island seems to have cured her (she had some illness and was going to die).
-
I'm having more trouble getting it together for this week's overnight trip than I had for the whole week last week. Maybe it's too soon to be going away again.

And on that note (E#),
And what the F is an E#?
I'm back from OH, LADY! LADY! which felt like OY! LADY! LADY! There were good performances from several of the leading ladies and the second leading man and comedian, but the show suffered from the McGlinn need to shove every song, including all the cut ones, back into the libretto. It wasn't a McGlinn performance but he did it better in 1985 for the Jerome Kern centenary. Of course, McGlinn's cast in 1985, with orchestra, included Judy Kaye, George Dvorsky, Ron Raines, Alix Korey, David Garrison, Paula Laurence and others.
The book, which is a funny drawing room comedy, wasn't played too well tonight, the battleaxe mother knew she was funny (oy!) and rather than doing the original version of "Bill" cut from OH, LADY! LADY!, they performed the 1928 rewrite from SHOW BOAT. The musical director added lots of harmonies, so often the unfamiliar tunes were covered by the alternate lines. It should have been better.
I'm all packed, and I'm ready to go. I'll stop in before I leave around 11 am.
-
I'm all packed, and I'm ready to go. I'll stop in before I leave around 11 am.
Have a smooth trip, DR Elmore. Get in touch when you can - I'll be home sometime Saturday evening.

Oh, DR Elmore - I was delayed leaving work today because of a surprise phone call from a long-lost friend: sister of Papa Gant/Don Quixote/El Gallo.
-
I see DR Cillaliz - how was your journey?

I also see DR George - how are you feeling?

Have a great trip, Ms Chauffeur. ;D
Thanks, DR JRand. It'll be different from last week's, when I was by myself.
-
I also see DR George - how are you feeling?
A little better, thanks. I'm watching a tape of last night's "South Park." Anyway, I plan to take a very hot shower before I go to bed (at the house where I'm house-sitting). That should help even more. :)
-
And what the F is an E#?
It's in the key of ME! ;)
-
Hi - flights were fine, but when I landed it was hot as hell in Philadelphia! I was very surprised. I thought it was going to be cooler this week. I'm very tired and must get some sleep. I'll write more tomorrow.

Have a good trip Elmore! Will you be able to post from there?

Thanks for the info DR Jennifer (and Matt, et al.)... Scotty Caldwell is a lovely woman and a really fine actress. And has, I hope, a sense of humor about someone who is supposed to be her friend not knowing that she has a major role in one of the most popular shows on television!
She's had a lot of tragedy in her life this past year, so it's great that she's got something fun (and lucrative) going on in her career.

Bon Voyage, DR Elmore!

Hi - flights were fine, but when I landed it was hot as hell in Philadelphia! I was very surprised. I thought it was going to be cooler this week. I'm very tired and must get some sleep. I'll write more tomorrow.
Welcome to the city of Brotherly Love, DR Cillaliz!
If you think it was hot in town today, you should be here when there's humidity. Oy!

! ! ! ! ! TRAVEL EVE VIBES FOR DR ELMORE ! ! ! ! !

Glad you had a safe flight Cilla...
Have a safe journey Elmore....
I am hoping I can log in from home... I have been unable to since Wednesday morning.

It was a 1776 reference. DTM, I really should have asked you about getting together while I'm here. I may have some time tomorrow during the day or Saturday afternoon. I'll IM you my cell phone. Sorry for the late notice, but I sort of spaced off that you were here in Philly

Hiya, Kidz!
Just about to head outa here... Motel 6 bed in Redding, CA SUCKS!!! But the free coffee gives me quite a nice buzzzzz...
TOD - probably several Art House Movies... does UNBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG count? I remember seeing that when I was about 17 years old. I was quite taken with it.
And MY DINNER WITH ANDRE. I was captivated. Two guys, having dinner and talking about the Meaning of Life.
I liked WHAT THE (BLEEP) DO WE KNOW, in spite of the rather low production values...
You see how my taste runs to the mystical and mythical...
Well, Jane, see you around 11:30 or noon. Laters, gators!!
I saw WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW? last year at the recommendation of my social work supervisor. I like it, especially the bit about the water. And then I found out that it was entirely financed by what appears to be a cult so I added a grain of salt to the mix, but I still think it has a lot of value.

From an LP that DR Rodzinski ought to own!

We don't have anymore room!!!!!

I was able to watch last night's CSI: NY before tonight's prime time shows came on. A "mermaid" was found dead in the East River. OK case, but not as fascinating as some have been.
-
Just finished last night's Alias - any logic has completely flown out the window (well, the last two years has been that way) and, as I said last week, their pathetic attempts to bring back every character and plot device is, well, pathetic. Has any character in television history had more major loyalty shifts than Arvin Sloane? I mean, it's PATHETIC!
I haven't watched Alias since before the hiatus. I totally f'ed up recording the last few episodes so I am just going to wait for season 5 to come out on dvd. Overall, I am disappointed. Sorry for the language folks but tonight has been a series of glasses of wine.

SMALLVILLE had an exciting episode,
spoiler - - - - - - - - - - - - -
but I guessed "Jonathan's" identity before it was revealed. He would NEVER tell his son to murder anyone no matter how bad the person was.
-
SUPERNATURAL kept me riveted, too.
But just exsactly when did the cliffhanger mentality begin to affect the making of TV shows with their season ending episode? I mean, if (God forbid) SUPERNATURAL doesn't get renewed, we're going to be left with that final image forever.
Like fans of the show wouldn't come back to it next fall unless there was the threat of something awful befalling our heroes? PLEASE!

So breaking up is hard to do. I have spent the past month preparing my kids for the fact that I will be leaving next week. But it really just sucks. There is no easy way to leave behind a child who has come to depend on you for the past 8 months. And as much as I am looking forward to ending this internship and having some time to unwind, I am having a really hard time saying good bye to my kids. Monday is my last day. :(
-
WITHOUT A TRACE had a really suspenseful and sad episode, too, with a family on the run. One of the show's best episodes in a while, and the ending was especially gratifying.
-
Matt, I need to rewatch an eppie from season 1 but i am confused by something in it. I just got season 2 from a freind of Smallville. This is the first time i have ever seen it.
-
And before I shut off the TV, I played tonight's WILL & GRACE episode.
For me, there was not a single laugh to be had. The very essence of "phoning it in."

The early seasons had too much teen angst/puppy love for me, but then, I am as far from the target audience for the WB as it's possible to be.
I like the show more now that the teens are growing up and facing more grown-up problems. Doesn't mean there still isn't angst, of course, but it's not as prominent now.

Computer program problem solved at work on a big project, plus another complex project that had been weighing on me to get done before I go away to San Diego next Wednesday has been rendered moot - at least temporarily - by the expected repeal of Florida's intangibles tax (on bonds and stocks and such). So my weekend, while there will be some work, might not be as abd as I expected tax-work-wise.
I feel like TPunk's avatar, in spirit if not in age.

Just like in "There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom." :(

For those of us that were feeling "fat"
Thank you for having the good taste of not posting the picture accompanying the 1200 lb man article.

Heading for bed now. Am meeting a friend at his car dealership tomorrow while his car is worked on, and we're going for Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Don't know how long it'll take, but I may be E&T a bit tomorrow morning.
Good night, everyone!

The phone rang, I answered & a recorded voice kept telling me scripture this and scripture that, so I hung up.
Jane! You hung up on G_D!

Back from another long and frustrating evening in the editing room. I was very prepared with my little fixes, and those all went very quickly. Then, it should just have been a matter of cutting in the fixes into our digibeta master, but it wouldn't work because the way in which the letterbox was put on has somehow caused everything to be off by a half-frame to a frame. So, they're trying to patch in everything the way it was when we output the other night - if that doesn't work, they have to relay the whole show to a new digibeta. Tomorrow by noon they'll have two DVDs for me - one standard 4.3 letterbox version, and one anamorphic widescreen TV version.
-
I send good editing vibes and hope the DVDs will be done for tomorrow, bk.

If I remember correctly, this movie was financed by JZ Knight, who channels 35,000 year old Atlantian, Ramtha (http://ramtha.com/default.asp), and her followers, who are based in Yelm, right here in little old Washington State. Linda Evans and Yanni used to be big followers of Ramtha's "teachings." The library where I work get a lot of their material. Friends of mine and I called them "Ramsters." I hope I don't offend anyone here who might be followers, too. ::)

Well, I'm at the house that's being house-and-cat-set, and my tummy is still a little upset. At what, I have no idea. Anyway, I'm going to go to bed now. Hopefully a good night sleep will be a good thing for me and my tummy. I have a full day of celebrating tomorrow! ;D
Good night, all!

They're STILL working on it - unbelievable. I'm so over this project now and just want it to be done. I cannot count the hours I've spent on this.

Soothing vibes are coming yiour way
