I'd like to do a recording of the Brain - I'm very happy with its score - but I'd have to have it orchestrated (I've asked elmore to do it), even for its five or six piece band, and all that costs dough.
Good morning America how are you
Don't you know me
I'm (NOT) your native son

Yesterday was pretty bad, much worse than sunday. The only way i could stop the pain was to take the pills (which i don't like doing). But anyhow it did help a lot. I was in a lot of pain without them.
Today seems good so far. I actually slept very well (did not sleep the night before). So hopefully it will continue to improve (and that the only relief won't be when i take the pills).
I realize that, to a few of you, $600 is mere chicken feed.
Well....cluck, cluck-cluck....cock-a-doodle-doo...I'm a banty rooster and I'm all on edge today.

and to some of us it is a very sizable sum!!!!
Count me in, but she must show her work!
The print arrived in pristine condition and I have it sitting atop one of my office overhangs. It's very eye catching--everyone stops to look at it and ask what it's about ("Well, it's about this kid who blinds six horses...")
Best of luck to DR RLP....on EBAY....the electronic garage sale that I love!!
The Brain's Song. I guess that's the title as it doesn't really have a title. The song titles are:
The Brain From Planet X
Here on Earth
We're Young
The Plan
The Plan (reprise)
Things Are Gonna Be Changing Around Here
Saucers In The Sky
The Time Is Nigh (Act One finale - not sure if that will end up the title)
The Brain From Planet X (reprise)
The Brain Tap
Bring Me An Earthman
The Brain's Song
Independence Day
All About Men
Finale
I find it amusing that people would not understand that a piece called THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X is a comedy spoof from the title alone.
Let sleeping dogs lie....
....and you'll never get the truth out of them.

INDIANAPOLIS - The 66 million-year-old skull of a dinosaur whose name was inspired by the Harry Potter series has found a permanent home in the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
Dracorex hogwartsia will be housed permanently at the museum, officials and paleontologist Robert Bakker announced Monday.
The dinosaur's name was taken from the Latin words for dragon and king, and the fictional Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels. Rowling agreed to the name because her two children are dinosaur fans. "The naming of Dracorex hogwartsia is easily the most unexpected honor to have come my way since the publication of the Harry Potter books," Rowling said in a written statement.
The dinosaur, a member of the pachycephalosaur family, had a flat skull with spiky horns, bumps and a long muzzle. Other pachycephalosaurs had domed foreheads.
Scientists believe the pachycephalosaurs, which were herbivores, used their knobby heads to butt other dinosaurs.
Three Iowa residents who found the 18-inch-long skull in South Dakota donated it to the museum in 2004, before it was named. "When we found the skull, all that was showing was a little of the snout and some teeth," said Steve Saulsbury, one of those who found the skull. "But as we excavated more of it, it was clear we had something unique."
The fossil skull, left encased in a layer of rock and mud, was shipped to the children's museum, where it was reassembled by paleontologist Victor Porter. Porter also made casts that were used by other scientists to confirm the dinosaur was a new species.
Porter and Bakker agreed upon the name after children visiting the museum suggested it resembled a dragon.
"This is the first new dinosaur found, restored and named by a children's museum," Bakker said.
The fossil will be displayed on the second level of the museum this summer and later will be moved to its permanent home in the Dinosphere wing.
I am sure he will feel right at home here in Indy....however once he is installed, the DOT will close ALL roads leading to and from the Children's Museum so that you can't go to see him.

Tenterhooks, I tell you.

Danise, it is wonderful to have you posting on a more regular basis again. I missed seeing your cute, smiling avatar!
Ken Mandelbaum is no longer with Broadway.com.All right, I love gossip.

If you prefer, you can pay by check payable to St Jude's Childrens Hospital. If you call my Mom she'll even come and pick the check up!

I just finished 4, yes 4 ears of sweet corn. (No I didn't eat anything else) That was soooo yummy. Not as good as Iowa sweet corn, but we can't get that until July or August.
When shall I expect you?
I own 50 more movies than I did this time yesterday.
DR Vixmom, i hope my medium post did not spoil anything for you.
I did go back and add the words spoiler. But usually if I just write the show in the first line (followed by dots), i thought anyone who hadn't seen the show yet would get the drift. :)

Who dumped whom, and who is he dating instead?
DR VIXMOM....I will probably watch the ones I really want to see within the next week or so.What titles did you get?
I want corn on the cob....dripping wth butter and salt....
and its all Cillaliz's fault....
but I'll blame Jose!
Between DR Danise and my nephew I'm getting the digital slr camera bug. I love photography and it's so relaxing to me that I think it's worth the investment. I'm considering a Canon Rebel XT or a Nikon D70s, but I need to go take a good look at both of them in a camera shop....so that's what I'm going to do. I'll be back later.....
And Little Debby's Peanut Butter wafer bars. I can never remember the "official" name ::), but I love them!
Speaking of Jose, wonder how the recording of the cast album went. There are photos on broadway.com, but they only feature the cast.
Did they do it all in one day?
Oh yes. She has been tied up with her mom and sis, so she will surely give a report. It went well. Her mom did the entire walk with her. The rains that were supposed to come never did.
Tonight is the night she graduates. I shall leave work in an hour and report to Avery Fisher Hall to see the ceremony.
Yes, Deb, they do it all in one day unless there is a big problem. There are exceptions to that general rule (I remember from the documentary that Company had Elaine Stritch come back the next day after stopping at some ungodly hour in the evening/morning).
It's very expensive to record a Broadway show and the money people behind the recordings don't want to stretch it out. One of the expenses is that the actors in the show get paid. I forget if it's one day salary or one week salary. I think it's one week of salary for the day in the recording studio. The musicians also get paid so the costs add up. Studio rental, equipment, etc. all make it very expensive to put our Jose's mellifluous notes on to a little silver disc which we can then shove into a CD player any time we please ;)
What is the title of the Brain's big song?Ah! the Michel LeGrand song from the movie about the Chicgao Baers' (Brain Poccilo).
They dumped him, apparently. He didn't want to write reviews anymore. Don't know where he'll end up.
Well, it's exhausting work being the High Priestess of Musical Theatre!
Ah! the Michel LeGrand song from the movie about the Chicgao Baers' (Brain Poccilo).
I hope someone understands that!!
Good morning DearReaderLaura. Four hours sleep? or less?
and I hope RLP won his auctions
in Jose's honor....
Laters...

Two movies that I have been waiting for to be released on DVD are coming out soon...so to speak...
AN EARLY FROST releases July 18
And MAKING LOVE releases next week!
I want corn on the cob....dripping wth butter and salt....
"Making Love" has been out since February 7th.
About the sweet corn. I'm not sure where this came from. It was fresh, probably MissouriI'll have to check at work where the corn is coming from right now. We've been selling a lot of it over the last couple of weeks, and I know it isn't local from around here. My guess is (!!!) Mexico. Yup, the stuff could be imported. But I'll ask.
I forgot to ask SWW how his and Der B's faces were healing....Der B is healing easily. I've an appointment to have my stitches removed on Thursday (the second half of my day off will involve the grandlads), so everything is going according to schedule there. And the bouts of depression the wound wound up are winding down, so all in all all is well.
Well hopefully they will come back and tell us.
Can I be a restaurant critic too?I know you're joking here, just a bit, but have you ever read Dining Out, by Andrew Dornenberg and Karen Page (http://www.becomingachef.com/about_the_authors.php)? It is all about restaurant criticism, how it effects the food industry and the people involved. It's one of the few books about criticism in any field; fortunately, it's a very good one.
please?
"Making Love" has been out since February 7th.Nonsense. Making love will always be "in". Except in cases where the couple is under their table at a restaurant. Especially when the table is at the local IHOP. Then it's just tacky.
I've just heard from our DR JoseS and seen on the Cast Recordling List that LESTATR will close this weekend, May 28.

Ack! Ack-Ack! Ack!
Won't know for 4 hours more, plus a few odd minutes.
I've been modifying my bids in dribs and drabs...adding more here and taking away a little more there....but very little.
I'm thinking my bids might be a touch higher now.
And hey--DR TPunk is graduating at Avery Fisher Hall! If she breaks out in a song and dance when she walks up for her diploma, she could break into show business.
As Benjamin's mother would have said - "in traffic".
Sorry to hear about the closing of the show. We are so pleased and proud that at least DR Jose made it to Broadway AND a Cast Recording. Let's hope this is only the beginning.
What are Malomars?
DR Vixmom - will you email me the link to The Vixter's pledge page?
And, I've been meaning to tell you since your dream story the other day: When you do come to Ohio to visit your brother in his new house, please let me know and I will make every effort to get together with you.
Great news Debbie. Congratulations to your DD and to her supportive family.
TOD - White-Chocolate-Covered Oreos, which are available only at Christmastime (thank goodness) and which I like to refrigerate before eating.
Mallomars were first introduced to the public in 1913,
A circle of Graham cracker is covered with a puff of marshmallow, then covered in a hard shell of pure dark chocolate.
Mallomars are not available in the summer months as they melt easily in the warm temperatures, so says Nabisco. I remember having them all year round as a child. They were my father’s favorite cookie.
A Appeal From: The Vixter
Please help me to raise money to help sick kids in St. Jude's Hospital. I am going to complete 250 math problems ( I hate math!) I am asking people to sponsor me. You can pledge to pay a certain amount for each problem, 10 cents a problem would be $25.00 (see I'm doing math already!!) or you could just pledge a "flat amount" of any amount you choose. You can even pledge online!! If you prefer, you can pay by check payable to St Jude's Childrens Hospital. If you call my Mom she'll even come and pick the check up! I really hate doing math problems but I figure it's still easier than what those sick kids have to deal with in the hospital. If I can help them get better sooner and help them go home to their families then its worth doing math. Thanks for reading this and thanks for helping me to help others. Love, VickyIf any one is ineterested please let me know and I can email you the direct link to her donation page . Thanks!
I think Sept 21st for 4 days.
Congratulatory vibes to the vixter!
Vixmom and vixter - I'll be in a crappy "budget" seat at Lestat on Sunday, but hope we'll hook up either at intermission or after the show. Look for Ron's avatar, only enhanced with 60 extra pounds and 15 extra years. :) I'll try to remember to bring along the passport with that photo so you can vouch for the fact that my "separated at birth" theory about Ron and me isn't a delusion of grandeur. :) :)
Hey Rodz, how did Tpunk's AIDS Walk go?
I wonder if they are similar to pinwheels? They are a marshmallow cookie they serve up here.
:'(
They can't even hold out until the Tony Awards? I know it only got two nominations, but you never know. :(
Congratulations TPunk. Will the DVD of your performace (I assume you did take DtM's advice) be on sale soon?
AIDS Walk was great, thanks in part to many of the folks on this board. The weather was perfect, the rain held off until the afternoon when most of the festivities had already come to a close. So far close to 7 million dollars were raised, and I expect that the number will go up from there.
Some good news (well for our family at least)
At the spring concert tonight it was announce that the Vixter was this year's winner of the Music Association Scholarship, seven weeks here www.usdan.com
We had no clue that she had been selected, in fact we have never heard of a singer being selected, it is usually a band or orchestra student.
She was so shocked that she just stood there in her place with the chorus until the girls around her said." That's YOU!! Go up accept it!!!" and pushed her forward, Vixdad and I sat there with our mouths hanging open while everyone around us slapped us on the backs and congratulated us.
We're so proud!
Unfortunately I did not use graduation as an opportunity to launch my broadway career. I'm just please that they pronounced my name correctly and that I did not trip when accepting my diploma.
CAn a person use an anmiated gif as an avatar?
And I am sure you made your Mom, sister and Mr. Rodz very proud!!! When do we see pictures?
Dakota - I think what I have to do is get to a scanner and once and for all put a (very very :) ) old picture in. You're spurring me on to try to hop to it.
I do love your artwork, BTW! The friend you created it for is very fortunate!
