Well, Jed, it's time for you to join the rest of us and BECOME a collector type. That way, you can spend all your money on eBay like many others here and you will become obsessive and crazed and be all the better for it.
OK, Miss Emily. You're on and may the best God-like HK win!
And, of course, if you have the occasional photo of something dear to you, post it, let's just not overdo the photos or Mr. Mark Bakalor will bitch-slap us from here to eternity.
How come when I search through boxes all I ever find are Martial Arts videos and Farm Journal magazines?
So Mr Mark Bakalor would bitch slap us? Like we're a scared of him hahahahahahahahahaha!
Now - watch my Karma carefully.
Hey DR George: What did you do to poor Marin? :)
Trivia question: Who was Nicholas Surovy's mother?
Although it is commonly agreed at HHW that Mr. Brent Barrett is the world's sexiest man (or something to that effect, I forget the exact phraseology), I do think that Mr. Michael Berresse gives him a close run for the money. Oy, when he was jumping around the stage of the Martin Beck AKA Al Hirschfeld Theatre in Kiss Me, Kate, I had to will myself to stay seated.

Jennifer, the trick is not to be down, down, down (that is three downs which is way too many downs, more than Churchill), the trick is to be up, up, up, up where we belong.
I just noticed that I, BK, have supplanted Tom of Oz as the highest poster here at haineshisway.com. Yes, Virginia, I am the highest of all because Tom of Oz has been SLACKING, do you hear me?
TD, you are an officer and a gentleman.
I think I shall be headed for bed, as well. If I don't get a call for work in the morning, I think I may go get some pancakes. Pity I can't get DuPar's up here! Heck, can't even get IHOP in this town. But, I know a couple places that are supposed to be swell for breakfast, so I do have options.
TD is his own frenzy. I, on the other hand, am trying to figure out the lunch situation.
Not even an Original House of Pancakes? Of course you are probably better off. I treated myself to pancakes at Dupar’s last time I was in Los Angeles, something I haven’t done in around fifteen years. It is just so fattening and unhealthy. But boy was it good.
Does anyone ever feel that being on HHW is like being in an Ionesco play? ? ?
I always thought it would be interesting to have an IHOP that was the International House of Plays, where troupes of performers went around to the tables and did scenes that the customers chose from the menu -
"I will have a scene of Williams, and a side order of Albee, please."
I went back to the Stats page (since TD mentioned it) and I'm still in the Top 10 . . .
At HANDY DANDY, while waiting for the theatre to open, a girl in her young teens happened to mention that her father was in the show. Since I knew it was a two character show I commented that I was a big fan of her grandmother. She even looked like a young Rse Stevens. Unfortunately I wasn't sure if her grandmother had passed away or not (I found out later she is still very much alive) so I didn't want to say too much. Those of you DRs who don't know Ms. Stevens from her days as the Met's reigning Carmen probably know her from her film appearances, most notably in "Going My Way".
As to who is Nicholas Surovey (besides Ms. Steven's son), he is one of those actors you have probably seen dozens of times is secondary roles on stage, in films and on television without knowing his name. He may be best known as Mike Roy on ALL MY CHILDREN... the one true love of Erica Kane's life until he "died". Years later when he came back from the dead (it is a soap after all) she had found many other one true loves.
Oh, yes. Congrats to TD. I know a lot of Wilson's work but I don't know this particular piece. I'm admitting a lot of things today.
I've been watching some of the non-stop Seattle news coverage of the snow. I know there are some real traffic messes, but I do have to chuckle some when they do non-stop coverage for the 2-1/2" (of snow, people!) in Seattle. :) Over on my side of the Cascades, it's been snowing lightly for about 3 hours now, but only about 1/2" (of snow, people!) so far. Supposed to get 6-8" (of snow, people!) later in the day.
td you were such a cute little tyke and congratulations on getting the role. :)
Miss Jennifer, isn't it unseemly to gloat??? ;)
Congratulations on the role, TD!
Hooray for another paid day off from work, George!

I did go get some yummilicious pancakes this morning, and they were, well, yummilicious. :D
Please forgive the vanity post. 100!!
Well, I am just glad you got some, Jed (snow people!).

Sympathetic Magic Lanford Wilson
Drama
Full Length
Cast: 5 men, 3 women: 8 total
Setting: UNIT SET
THE STORY: Liz Barnard is an anthropologist studying West Coast gangs for behavior similar to African tribes. Her son, Don, is a homosexual Episcopal minister whose parishioners are poor and many sick with AIDS. Liz’s daughter, Barbara, is a gifted sculptress whose current breakthrough show launches a stellar career. Barbara lives with Ian, a brilliant young astronomer and popular university professor who, along with his colorful colleague Mickey, stumbles upon a spectacular discovery at the edge of the galaxy. They want to study the find further, but the chairman of their department, Carl Conklin White, a by-the-book administrator, snatches up this startling find before all the facts are in. Along with this discovery, Ian and Barbara find that despite all precautions, Barbara is pregnant. Having agreed to no children, Barbara prepares for an abortion, but Ian wants to hold off as he has new thoughts about children and carrying on the human race. The mysteries of the universe and of human and artistic creation begin to mix for Ian and his friends. But when Barbara has the abortion, Ian becomes a person he never expected, and in front of friends and family, he attacks Barbara. His actions change everyone around him, mirroring the change in life when discovery leads the way.

... why aren't the guests registered?
DR Jay, did the audience in your theatre start chanting, "I do believe in fairies? I do! I do!"? Mine had quite the yelling and stomping going on.
Umm, td, so are you Tally?
(that is three downs which is way too many downs, more than Churchill
Before anyone (TCB!!!) says anything about "grilled buns", I'm talking about bread....and not hot cross buns, either!
By the way, and strictly for the record, I do believe in fairies.
Gee, TCB....the whole rest of today free...and all that snow!
Gonna build a snowman, aren'tcha!!???
And on a totally different note, a pic of me a couple of years ago.

And Constance Bennett (of course I was only seven) but she was every bit the elegant lady who wore so many costumes, I got dizzy, and I was so jealous of Patrick when she took him away at the end....and she was beautiful as well! No Carroll Baker, you know, but elegant!!! And she too stood out back of the theatre in Cleveland and talked to everyone, answered questions, and asked people questions back....LOL...I don't remember why I didn't have my program signed, probably just stood there with my mouth open like Sally Field!
Well, I'm currently #14 on the prolific posters list... George and MBarnum are next on my climb to the top!
Jennifer, shopping on Ebay ALWAYS makes me feel better! Ha!
But seriously, if you are continuing to feel blue you really should see your doctor, it is terrible to be down in the dumps for too long of a period of time! He can make it so that it is easier to deal with what is upsetting you.
Barry Brown's lover who died from AIDS was the ever-wonderful Fritz Holt who's mentioned in Ted Chapin's book and who went on to become one of the Tony-winning producers of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.THANK-YOU!!! I knew he was someone I should remember, but for the life of me I couldn't. My bad.
And on a totally different note, a pic of me a couple of years ago.A couple of years ago? I thought caftans went out of style in the 80s!
Hello all,
One very sad thing to tell. My fish--the one I keep at my desk at work passed away sometime over the weekend. I was very upset when some people at work said it was silly to cry for him. I know he was just a little fish but he was mine and I loved him. What do they know?
I already miss him greatly. I think I have looked over at his tank a hundred times already.
I just had my first Quizno's sub. Rather tasty, as many of my HHW brethren and sistren said it would be.
And on a totally different note, a pic of me a couple of years ago.
Did you people MISS MY POST? No one wants a free preview of the first half of the prologue to Kritzer Time? How RUDE! I am going off in a huff.
"trusted by 17 readers".According to the site you posted.
Well, knowing your rule of character initials, and knowing that Jane went to high school with you, I guess we can rule out her being the girl in Atascadero. :)
I guess in my careless rush to post I missed out on Danise being under the weather. Get well soon, DR Danise!
Now I'm off to Gelson's for food glorious food.
Danise: I am so sorry to hear that you still aren't feeling well. Let me send along some of our famous good vibes:
[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]GOOD VIBES![/move]
They have been known to restore health, improve mood, and grant actors coveted parts in plays without the casting couch!
DR Jane - I think I've seen Alan Wertz Candy at Gelson's. I'm not much of a candy eater, I prefer the Viktor Benes bakery and all it has to offer.
I'm wondering something -- Jane, are you by any chance from Encino?
I am sure there are some people like I who are anxiously anticipating the National Figure Skating Championships this week. The singles titles seem very up in the air this year. I'm already getting butterflies about the finals on Saturday.
But before you go... Are you a poor sleeper, DR Jane? If yes, join the club. Although, I really don't seem to need much sleep. Good thing.
Ron: "That" was two years ago! :D
Hmm I don't understand much of this figure skating talk, but I must say I truly admire figure skaters. They possess skills that I don't have at all! It is thrilling to watch them perform.
Michelle Kwan fell on the triple loop in the Olympics. Dick Button said she can do that jump in her sleep. I guess she was too awake or something.
Aww Jose, now you're making me feel guilty! :)
