Title: SNAP, CRACKLE, AND POP
Post by: bk on May 30, 2007, 12:17:48 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes had snap, crackle, and occasional pop, and now it is time for you to post until the crackling cows come home.

My favourite cereal is and was "weetbix". It is Australia's best selling cereal.  It was originally manufactured by "sanitarium foods" owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Most Australian cereals do not have the sugar additives of their American counterparts.

Favorite cereals :)

I remember the multi packs of individual cereal mini boxes, so I ate a bit of everything. I really loved Cinnnamon toast crunch, but found that if I took it to school ( in a little baggie of course ) I would get a crowd of wanting children around me.
Now I am more of a cheerios girl, if I eat cereal at all.

Yesterday was also a day of me doing almost nothing.  I stayed home from work all day with the idea (my PLAN) that I would continue to sort through the boxes in my living room.  Well, I did go through some boxes, and some on Monday night, but not very many. ::) So, it continues and the time frame for the PLAN is extended. ;)

Yesterday evening, I went to rehearsal for "Taming of the Shrew...In Hell."  We went through act two (Shakespeare's acts 4&5) and it was very productive.  Now I just have to work on memorizing my lines...all three of them. ;) I have a lot of busy stuff to do during the show, so I don't just have to stand there.  It's been a lot of fun. :)

Since we've been rehearsing outside, on Monday, I got a bit of a sunburn on my forehead. :P Today, I sprayed myself with a spray-on sunscreen long before I left my house.  I'll find out tomorrow if it worked. :-\ The problem is that the sunscreen is quite sticky, even after being on me for so long.  I must take a shower before I go to bed, so that's what I'm going to do.

Good night...five guests. :)

I am working today.

Congrats to MR BK on his new plateau...post wise.

I watched INVADERS FROM MARS last night.  I have always enjoyed this movie, even though the DVD release I have is not in very good shape.

Inspired thusly I started to watch THE ASTOUNDING SHE CREATURE which I couldn't finish, even at only 62 minutes.  I then started to watch THE BEACH GIRLS AND THE MONSTER which I couldn't finish either.

Good morning, all!  Another day of Jury Duty, and I hope that it's all over by this afternoon. There was very little going on in the courts yesterday: only one pulling of jurors for a voir dire, so it may be more frenzied today.  I also believe the next round of jurors comes in tomorrow, so with that influx my group may be dismissed.  We'll see.

Last night, after I got back, I sorted through the mail, set aside the NEW YORK magazine to take with me today, unpacked my new Kurt Weill Edition . . .
http://www.kwf.org/pages/kwe/kwe.html . . .
and watched a couple of episodes from POPULAR, a series I somehow managed to miss in 1999.

During my ordeal with the Court System, I had two phone calls from Mr Ron Raines and Mr Kevin Spirtas, who's currently in Manhattan, and I hope that I will get to visit with him before he returns to LA.

TOD:  Shredded Wheat, of all things, Cheerios, Wheaties, and Fruit Loops.  Since my mother was passive-aggressive in her concept of life, we needed cereal around in case she forgot to cook, shop, or get out of bed.  Shredded Wheat without milk is grisly, let me tell you.

Runner-ups:

Cap'n Crunch
Quake
Honeycomb
Cocoa Puffs
Rice Krispies
Trix

But to tell the truth, it there was a nifty prize inside or a had-to-have-it send-away, I would pester my parents for anything.  I really disliked Fruit Loops and Apple Jacks, but I recall whining for boxes of each because I wanted the prize inside.

I still have a small collection of cereal toys, too.

DR Singdaw, head to Quisp.com  (http://www.quisp.com/) to get info on all things Quisp.

Quisp had a companion cereal called Quake:

The two characters (the animated commercials were produced by Jay Ward)  had an on-going feud about whose cereal was better.  There was eventually a national vote (preceding American Idol by decades) and Quisp won by a landslide.  This resulted in the Quake character being redisgned into a slim cowboy and his cereal later begin changed into some blehh-tasting orange affair.

I like Cinammon Life, Rice and Wheat Chex, Grape Nuts, and Cap'n Crunch...though the last has a tendency to rip the roof of my mouth apart. I eat cereal infrequently these days.

Question for BK or anyone, since Tomovoz brought up Joey Dee and the Starliters, did this group ever do more than two albums?  I have their first that has the Peppermint Twist on it and I have the soundtrack from their rather bad movie, "Hey, Let's Twist".  Whatever happened to Mr. Dee and the the Starliters?

Since I'm not a milk fan, I like cereals I can eat out of the box without milk. My favorite is frosted mini-wheats (good for fiber in your diet, too). When I was a kid and made to drink milk and have it in cereal, I ate raisin bran which I still find tasty.

Apparently. initial printing of the 7th and final Harry Potter novel has begun at a print factory in the small town of Poessneck, Germany.  Reportedly, staff at the factory are searched when entering and leaving the factory each day. Furthermore, they are forced to work in "total darkness" to prevent them from reading the book.

Given the logistics of global distribution on this scale, it's amazing to me that there aren't more "leaks" than there are.

I see that the mediocre movie version of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is due for release on DVD next week. While the film has many flaws, I really like what's best about it: the new version of "The Glamorous Life," Diana Rigg in a splendid performance as Charlotte, and the three Broadway stalwarts repeating their stage roles (even if they've all lost some of their music in the transition from stage to screen): Len Cariou, Hermione Gingold, and Laurence Guittard, and the staging of "A Weekend in the Country" which is splendid in the movie (and is one of the grandest first act closing numbers ever written for the stage).

I don't remember the name of the cereal, or who made them (Post, perhaps, or General Mills), but during the 1960s there was a trio of cereals that had freeze dried fruit in them.  One had freeze dried peaches, another freeze dried blueberries, and the third freeze dried strawberries.

I always preferred the strawberries.

One of the benefits of these cereals, besides the fruit that was in them, was that the fruit stained the milk the color of the fruit (the peaches died the milk yellow).

I never did try combining them, however.  I wonder now if combining blueberries and peaches would have made the milk green.

Apparently. initial printing of the 7th and final Harry Potter novel has begun at a print factory in the small town of Poessneck, Germany.  Reportedly, staff at the factory are searched when entering and leaving the factory each day. Furthermore, they are forced to work in "total darkness" to prevent them from reading the book.

Given the logistics of global distribution on this scale, it's amazing to me that there aren't more "leaks" than there are.

Hmm... I wonder if the "total darkness" will result in some "special editions" of the book.  -Oh, look, Daddy, I have to turn the book upside to read this page!

Isn't it kind of crazy how much breakfast cereals cost now?  They seem to have risen in price out of proportion to everything else...

It is kind of crazy.  Whenever I was on the road or working in the midwest, I was always surprised at how high the cereal prices were - especially in Indiana (at least in Evansville).  I had figured they would be priced lower due to the lower transportation costs.

After all these years what else could I say, though I do like the Kashi cereals and they are cheaper at Trader Joe's than they are at regular grocery stores.

Agreed.

One of my roommates has been running the shelves at Trader Joe's the past couple of months, and she's been buying one of each variety - usually three a time - in an informal quest to find her new favorite cereal(s).  Some of TJ's "knock-offs" are pretty good.  And healthy too.  -At least according to the label.

As a kid I loved Fruity Pebbles, Honeycomb, and many other cereals, although the only one that I would specifically request, and that I would consider my ultimate favorite was the short lived FREAKIES...

I was obsessed with this cereal and on collecting all the little Freakies characters (which I still own). The back of the box had all the Freakies characters listed with little bios for each (I identified most with Hamhose, but I think Cowmumble was my favorite Freakie).

As for the Topic of the Day...

I shudder to think the number of boxes of cereal that my parents bought for me and my three brothers while we were growing up.  And since my father usually took one - if not all four(!) - of us to the weekly trips to the commissary, my brothers and I usually were able to select the cereals we wanted for that week.  I think we tried everything that came out from 1973-1983.   -And, yes, I do remember "C-3POs".

The ones that stick in my head: Cap'n Crunch (which never had enough of those "berries"), Life, Crispix, Cheerios, the whole Monster collection (Count Chocula, Boo-Berry, etc.), Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Puffs(!), Trix, Lucky Charms, Kix, Cocoa Krispies, Cookie Crisp, Golden Grahams, Raisin Bran, etc., etc., etc.

Great news for fans of the macabre!  I quote from an item at creepyclassics.com:

"Three classic horror box sets are coming to DVD this fall. One from Columbia and one from Fox. The Columbia set will include THE WEREWOLF (1956 with Steven Rich), CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN (1955 with Richard Denning), ZOMBIES OF MORA TAU (1957), THE GIANT CLAW (1957) and one other title to yet announced. The suggested retail price will be around 24.95. They will not be released separtately.

"The Fox set will include CHANDU THE MAGICIAN (1932 with Bela Lugosi as Roxor), THE UNDYING MONSTER (1942, Fox's answer to THE WOLF MAN), THE LODGER (1944 with Laird Cregar), HANGOVER SQAURE (1945, also with Cregar) and MAN HUNT (1941 with Walter Pidgeon, Joan Bennett, George Sanders, John Carradine and Roddy McDowell)."

The third set is from KINO, and will be a collection of previously released single titles.

I'm particularly excited by the Fox set and "Hangover Square"....an intense film with a superb film score by Bernard Herrmann, including a magnificent concerto that is a key part of the exciting ending of the film.

NPR's Elizabeth Blair reports that many famous artists admit to drawing creative inspiration from the work of others. Take, for example, Stephen Sondheim, the prolific Broadway composer and lyricist. A few years ago, he told Library of Congress music specialist Mark Horowitz one such inspiring moment came while watching the 1945 movie Hangover Square at age 15. He saw the movie twice to memorize the score, composed by the legendary Bernard Herrmann.

"When Sondheim wrote Sweeney Todd, he -- at least to some degree -- was trying to imagine, 'What would Bernard Herrmann do?'" Horowitz says. "And he talks about how there are certain Bernard Herrmann chords that he uses that are inspired aspects of the score."

Wow!  Thanks for sharing this info.  I had never read/heard of this.

There is a wonderful suite from "Hangover Square" in the Charles Gerhardt-conducted album "Citizen Kane: The Classic Film Scores of Bernard Herrmann."  It was originally released in the early- to mid-70's as part of that wonderful RCA series that was kicked off by "The Sea Hawk: The Classic Film Scores of Erich Wolfgang Korngold."  The entire series has been issued on CD.  Don't know if any are still available.

I saw 'Hangover Square" on TV once...as a young adult.  Can't remember where I was, but I was riveted by the story and the music.

DR Ron Pulliam, here's SS himself on this:

***SPOILERS***[/size]

"It's an open secret that the music for Sweeney is an hommage to a film composer named Bernard Herrmann. When I was fifteen I saw a movie called Hangover Square, an American movie which took place in London, starring Laird Cregar as – wait for it – an insane composer who was musically way ahead of his time in 1900. Every time he would hear a high-pitched note, his mind would go blank and he'd go out and murder the nearest person. He doesn't know what he does in these blackouts, and he goes to George Sanders, who is the police psychiatrist, who says, “Dear fellow you're in a lot of trouble”. He's arrested right in the middle of playing his piano concerto, but insists on finishing the concert, and sets the entire concert hall on fire. Everyone leaves and he's left playing surrounded by flames. Bernard Herrmann wrote the concerto in such a way that it ends with solo piano with low chords. It's a brilliant score, a one-movement piano concerto. When I was fifteen I sat through the movie twice because in the middle there's a three-second shot of the score on the piano. I memorised it and I can still play it. As a matter of fact, when I visited the Library of Congress, they showed me a number of Bernard Herrmann manuscripts, including Citizen Kane, and they said that they're going to try and get me a photostat of the score for Hangover Square.

Herrmann had a way of making suspense lushly musical, and he had a harmonic line which I thought was just right for Sweeney. I didn't consciously copy him, but it was Hangover Square that started that kind of thought process in my head.

The reason there's so much music in Sweeney is that I thought every time the music stops the audience will remember they're in a theatre and that these events are ridiculous. That's what good film scoring does. I remember when I saw Jaws, the moment those double basses started, and all you saw was water…. I was so frightened. I didn't know what was going to happen, all I knew was I was scared to death. Music can do that to you and it can sustain suspense even when nothing is going on on stage. Herrmann's harmonic language is always unresolved, so something is always going to happen. There's constant motion but the harmony is never quite resolved."

BK, another question why is there no unseemly linkage from this site to your Kritzerland site and if there is, where is it?

That question has been asked before - I'm sorry to say that Mr. Bakalor will do photo purges and that's it.  I have asked him repeatedly to add Kritzerland as a link and it has fallen on deaf ears (no mean feat).  Until I find someone who can take over this site or who understands its design and how it works, nothing new can be added, save for notes and posts.  The design, done way back in 2001, would never be done this way today - it's the way they used to do it, but things have progressed.  The fellow who did everything with Bakalor isn't around anymore, either, and Mark probably doesn't remember how ANY of it was put together.

The boyfriend asks, "What kind of puzzle is it?"

The boyfriend says he'll be right over.

When he arrives, the blond leads him to her dining room table.

Yes, DTM, how our eating habits have changed....well...my eating habits are still attempting to change...when chocolate appears I have a devil of a time staying away from it!

But I have to admit that my taste for sugar laden items has decreased substantially in the last few years as I have weened myself off....however I am still attracted to many carb loaded foods  :(

...and just when I learned to make Wacky Noodles, too!

TOD:

I recall eating Rice Chex and Rice Krispies as a child. My Dad's favorite was Shredded Wheat, which I occasionally ate as well. Today I prefer oatmeal or granola, though I ate some Rice Krispies just last week.

Like Singdaw, I had never heard of Quisp or Quake or that other one until today.

And, like MBarnum, I prefer foods that aren't too sweet. (Perhaps for a different reason.) I feel that sweeteners should ENHANCE the flavor, as opposed to BE the flavor. But that's just my personal preference.

Babes on Broadway
Babes in Arms
Strike Up the Band
Thoroughbreds Don't Cry

I don't know if any of the other two Andy Hardy films she was in -- Andy Hardy Meets the Debutante and Life Begins for Andy Hardy -- will be possibilities in this set or whether WB will ultimately do an Andy Hardy box.  I hope for the latter.

And of course there was a documentary on the FREAKIES cereal that came out a few years back which I snapped up...it contains all of the Freakies tv commercials which played on Saturday morning television in between viewings of The Shazam/Isis Hour and HR Puffinstuff, or shows like that.

You can view one of the commercials right here (which is in Black and White for some reason). It is very cute.

DR Ron Pulliam was exactly right in stating which Rooney-Garland films are slated for the upcoming Mickey/Judy box. It's their four Busby Berkeley-led (well, he was fired from GIRL CRAZY after production was underway) plus THOROUGHBREDS DON'T CRY, the only time she got billing over him in a film.

I began my afternoon of viewing finishing the ANGEL episode I had started last night. Lorne tried a spell to help Cordy get her memory back, and it had the effect of robbing all of them of their adult memories making them think of themselves still as teens.

It was played for more of a comic episode than dramatic, and thus wasn't one of my favorites of the series. I'm sure it was fun for the actors to play themselves as teens in adult bodies, but I didn't find it very entertaining.

Isn't it kind of crazy how much breakfast cereals cost now?  They seem to have risen in price out of proportion to everything else...

Actually, you can blame the environmentalists! The push to use bio-fuels has dramatically raised the price of cereal grains (which will be reflected in the cost of milk, meat, and poultry!) And we haven't seen the ripple effect yet. Farmers out here are not planting soy beans to order to plant more corn.

I've been trolling (yes, TROLLING) the Amazon.com "used/new" listings for things I believe are just TOO damned expensive "new."

And I've found "new" copies of things at better than half-price by doing it.

I've no problem with "used" as long as the packaging is intact...and as long as the seller has a 98% or better rating.

Well, well, well (that's 3 - count 'em THREE - "wells")!

One week and one day AFTER "Pigskin Parade's" release -- and three weeks AFTER I pre-ordered it with guaranteed two-day delivery -- I FINALLY received the DVD in today's UPS shipment.

After several back-and-forth e-mails, the only "excuse" I could get out of Amazon was a whine about all their video sources not being as efficient as others.

FOX?  The same distributors who ensured they had "Can-Can" and 'On the Riviera"?  On time?  And in my delivery last Monday, a day EARLY?

Heaven forfend!

It doesn't do one bit of good trying to be rational with them...they simply will not own up to any logical excuse as to why they dropped the ball.

I received my copy of "The Making of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" this week. DP Colin and I enjoyed the show very much (as did Ben and Ant.) in London. Sad that it was "watered down" and did not find an audience on Broadway. I think it needed the involvement that is part of UK children's theatre. The audience needs to be part of the show for the magic to work.

I've had to wait this long for the DVD as it has been way too expensive.

No. ::) But tonight might be a good night to do so.  I did skip through a bit of "WotW" when I first got it and since I only have last night's "Boston Legal" to watch from TV and I don't have rehearsal, I'll start with that first. :)

A question for Ask bk day:

We know that you often commission or create charts especially for your recordings.  But what happens if you want to do a CD of many different songs, from different musicals, with the original orchestrations.  Do you rent the full orchestral parts for each show?  And do you then get the entire set of parts for each show for each song represented on the recording?  THAT would be a mountain of material!  Or do you get sent just the songs you need from each show?  It seems like that would be very daunting.   :P

I am still alive!!

DBF last week told me I needed sometime away from the stress I have been under the last few months and took me away for a few days. WE went to Wisconsin this past weekend and I do have a few pictures I will post later on. However one of them did not turn out. However, there is one I think a few people will have a bit of fun with.

I do have to say he was right, I needed a bit of a break and I had a lovely weekend as we went traipsing around parts of central Wisconsin. We went to a small cheese factory in Rudolph, WI and i brought home some lovely cheese curds and fresh colby.  The fresh colby puts the stuff in the stores to shame. Another little shop had freshly made German Wurst.

I even made a stop at the infamous Belt's ice cream in STevens Point, WI and had a nice tour of the city. I will admit my bird pictures are nowhere near as good as Laura for I had only a cheap disposable since I had forgotten my camera.  We left right after I was done with Work on Friday.

I got to meet his parents, siblings and neice and nephew. His nephew graduated from high school and is enrolling at UW-Madison in the fall. BTW, I dont think I will ever be able to go to UW-STevens Point again with a straight face. DBF affectionately calls it "Underwear with Special Powers!"

However my journey was not complete without going to Point Brewery in STevens Point. I came away with some Root Beer and of course, beer!

On the way back we stopped off at the Albertville Premium Outlet Mall. He treated me to shopping, he felt I deserved it. I had not done anything really fun for ME in a long time and he felt I deserved it. I managed self control and spent only $20 and came away with two tanktops and two shirts.

Good Evening!

Whew!

Well, no trip to Central Park today.  Instead, I walked around the Lower East Side (LES for short) for about two hours.  What a really cool neighborhood.  -And, of course, I finally came across some stores/restaurants/food stands that I had only, up until now, read about.  And, yes, I even sampled some foodstuffs along the way.

After walking down 14th Street to Avenue A, I walked down to Houston, the over to 1st Avenue, up 1st Avenue, east on 7th Avenue back to Avenue A, then up to St. Mark's Place (8th street), then back over to 2nd Avenue, then... I eventually hopped on the C Train back uptown at 8th Avenue and 23rd.  Whew!

According to my Futurama calendar, to day is Mel Blanc's birthday!  If he were still alive, he'd be 99 years old.  I went to his IMBb listing (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000305/) and in his bio was this paragraph...I think know BK will appreciate this!!:

His license plate read "KMIT." A representative at the California Department of Motor Vehicles asked him if it stood for a radio station, since it's illegal to advertise on a plate. He replied, "No, that's actually an old Jewish expression, 'Know Me In Truth.'" What it actually stood for was "Kish Mir Im Tuchas," a Yiddish phrase meaning "Kiss my ass."

and a "foodie" question for dear Jose --  I just read about a relatively new place in (I think) either the west Village or Chelsea area, called "BLT Burgers."  It said it was associated with the "BLT group" and is supposed to have pretty tasty stuff.

Have you ever tried it? Or has Elmo, or Fred, or Ben??  Is it worth going to, or is it just hype?

Thank you all, from those of us deprived out here in the desert!  :)

I am so tired.  I wish I could have taken a few weeks off before going back to work.  I'm starting to come down from all of the events and it just seems like there is no rest for the wicked.  I just hope I don't crash and burn.  I can't tell you how much I wish this was Friday.

Well...  I have been to BLT Burger (http://www.bltburger.com/) a couple of times.  It's right at the top of the West Village, sort of.  But, yes, it is part of the Laurent Tourondel's restaurant empire here in NYC.  -I have yet to try to the recently overhauled BLT Steak.

It's a good burger.  However, there are plenty of good burger places in NYC right now, in all price ranges.  -Although, I believe BLT Burger is the only casual burger place to carry a Kobe Beef Burger - which I think costs around $65!  In any case...

It's a good burger, but the sides and specialty drinks really make the meal there.  The "spiked shakes" are quite tasty - and sneakily lethal.

However, I'd also recommend:

brgr (http://www.brgr.us)
*The baked-to-order - well, more like rewarmed-to-order - chocolate chip cookies are a sinful and cheap dessert.

Burger Joint (http://www.parkermeridien.com/eat4.php)
*Alas, the beloved Burger Joint with the $1.00 burgers in the Village is no more.

Shake Shack (http://www.shakeshacknyc.com/)
*Go Danny Meyer!  Although, the lines here can be a bit ridiculously long at times.  -Just check out the Shack Cam on their website.

Stand
I can't seem to find a website for it.  But there's a brief description of it here courtesy of the one of the NY Times food blogs: Double Burger, Part I (http://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/02/08/double-burger-part-i/#more-190).  A good burger, although, I find the pricing of the shakes a bit high, but they do have some great flavors.

Plus, many, many other options. ;)

For a great, good ole greasy-spoon rendition, there's always Big Nick's on the Upper West Side, and Island Burgers & Shakes in Hell's Kitchen.  *And Island Burger's "Chicken Churascos" are a great white-meat option too!

I have received OFFICIAL NOTICE via U.S. Mail that Pat Haines, Sales Representative of Clearwater, FL, is trying to contact me about my $2,100,000.0 Sweepstakes ID.  She must hear from me at the toll free number by 6/14/07 at 11:59 PM, or my ID will expire.

I was worried about that...

I got the newest update to the PS3 installed easy as pie according to the directions. Since I don't have it connected to the internet, I had to update using a USB flashdrive, and I do NOT understand why they didn't offer the very simple instructions on the site along with the link to the update. I had to write Sony customer service to get directions how to get the download to be recognized by the PS3.

Anyway, it went just like clockwork.

This weekend I mowed the lawn, planted several thousand million impatiens, divided up some hostas (them's heavy!)  and moved them around the yard, stripped all the wallpaper off the downstairs bedroom, visited friends in their new home , took the Vixter and her friend to the local traveling carnival  and saw the greatly anticipated (by the Vixter & myself if no one else) 3rd installment of Pirates of the Caribbean

After installing the upgrade, I watched the Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN on Blu-ray disc.

The movie has never looked particularly great on home video, not even in the latest DVD upgrade. This Blu-ray version was by far the best it's ever looked on home media.

The Krypton and Smallville sequences have always been soft and filtered looking, and even on Blu-ray, they still are. But once Clark gets to Metropolis, it's a sharp and bright as can be. I was very, very impressed with the picture resolution for the last hour and fifty minutes of the movie.

I had a yearning for a musical, so I finished my evening with BRIGADOON. Always is enjoyable to me, and this time around, I particularly liked the wedding dance sequence and "The Chase." The orchestra and chorus work on that latter number is especially thrilling and in surround sound, it's just magic.

I know it's not real... and I know they do absoluelty outrageous stuff onthis show, but the "strategy" Alan & Denny used would have gotten them disbarred or even jailed... it  was so blatant that it spoiled it for me

However the most amusing time was the drive home... Whoever said a 7.5 hour drive had to be insane has evidently not been cooped up very well...

The shenanigans on the way back began in Wausau where a sign called HORAKS was spotted... (This is hte picture that did not turn out) .... Needless to say my mind did Intrepreted it as something amoral for a tow shop...

We then stopped at Kwik STop.....

THe most interesting stop was here in Minnesota...

and who ever said MN does not have traffic jams on I-94... Mind you this picture is taken near St Cloud and we are nearly an hour out of the cities... According ot WCCO radio the traffic was stalled closer to the cities and there were cars in a heavy formation beyond Alexandria, MN

Back from a way too long session.  I held up fine, and actually had retained quite a bit, so everyone was impressed.  I just want this to be over with - there'll be another music rehearsal on Friday for a couple of hours, and I'm already being asked if Saturday can go later than four, which I probably won't do - they have other things they can work on without me.  I'll give extra time on Sunday if they need it, but I'm already donating 10-4 and that's puhlenty.  I must now eat some foodstuffs.
