Well, you've read the notes, the notes felt like a meatball sandwich, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they'd like a MOOtball sandwich.
-
And the word of the day is: SOLATIUM!
-
sometimes you LOOK like a meatball sandwich :p
-
On Saturday, I went to Subway and I almost had a meatball sub...but I didn't. That would've been weird if I'd had the meatball sub and then BK talked about it today. ;)
-
the new safari (3.0 oooh) annoys me, it has a lot of little quirks and reminds me of things that I don't need reminding about. Plus my g-mail no longer auto completes in safari....
-
I've never used Safari.
-
Horses etc!
I loved "La Vie En Rose". I hope you did not watch the English language version. I imagine Piaf's life story is so well known by the French that a linear narrative would seem somewhat dull. IMHO a great film.
DR td may have enjoyed he Swedish version more.
-
Can't go better than a good old-fashioned English Bacon Sandwich.
-
There is no English version on the DVD.
-
Where in tarnation did this fog come from?
-
It's really thick (the fog).
-
I'm listening to Ramsey Lewis' The In Crowd - prior to that was Hubert Laws' Afro Classic.
-
I can't see anything out my window except fog.
-
Will we never get to page two?
-
I'm getting sleepy.
-
Did you know that sleepy spelled backwards is ypeels?
-
Speaking of sleepy, I'm sleepy, too. Good night, BK and Ron...and any and all guests.
-
Were you thrilled, BK, by the Varese Club title announcements?
I was excited to see "The Tall Men" and "By Love Possessed."
That said, I'm going to post my true feelings about the latest batch of Club titles here in this forum, away from the slings and arrows at FSM. I'm delighted for any and all who are thrilled by all the releases, but I have to say I found this pre-Christmas slate disappointing.
It's sad to me that for the first time in Club history I've not wanted to buy all the releases. I'm not a big fan of Conti, and I thought "Neighbors" a terrible film.
"Magic Fire" was tempting...but not must-have in light of so many other wonderful things being released by other labels. This one is truly a "curiousity item" as it's Richard Wagner arranged and conducted by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. I may regret not ordering it. Time will tell.
Finally, I can't help feeling just the slightest bit...well...insulted...that a re-recording of a score already well-represented (and definitively, too, to my ears) is being offered as a club release. I am not buying any more versions of "North By Northwest" (or "Vertigo," for that matter), as I have several (of each), including the expanded soundtrack recording.
So, I've saved money, and I'm getting the Victor Young and Elmer Bernstein scores. But the joy of that is tempered by a general feeling of enormous "let-down" because I seem to have lost my enthusiasm over what was rather special and fun for such a long time.
-
I knew about the Fox titles, but not about the others. I'll have to go read about them.
-
I went back to the site and listened to a couple of samples of "Magic Fire" (brilliant stuff, even if it's mono).
The write-up indicates George Korngold wrote the notes, apparently years ago. This was the first release of the score, though.
And now I've ordered it. I'm a sucker for sentimentality.
-
I'm a sucker for sentimentality.
They don't call you Maudlin Ron for nothin'! ;)
-
It's an odd batch. I'll probably get the North By Northwest just to have it - I automatically get the Fox titles so those are mine, but I don't need the Korngold/Wagner and I certainly don't need the Conti. Then again, I do have a complete set of club titles and I'll probably just get them anyway.

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And it's early. :-\ ;)
-With the way "Disney's Magic Express" works, they have to take you to the airport at least two hours before our flight - preferably three hours. So, since my flight will be departing at 7:35am, I ended up on the 4:45am bus from the Coronado Springs Resort this morning. Of course, the airport is sort of empty, and I got through Check-In and Registration in about seven minutes, so... But I had a surprisingly good breakfast at BK - Burger King, not BK - and I purchased some snacks for the flight. -Although, I highly suspect that I will be napping/sleeping during most of it. In any case...
Good Morning!
:)
-
Is the Local One Strike over yet?
:-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
-
And since I have a bit of time, I shall catch up on my catchin-up on the Notes and Posts from the past couple of days...

Well, my flight will now be leaving at 7:45am instead of 7:35am... But we're still supposed to get into LGA on time, so... Another ten minutes of "vacation". ;)

Monday morning greetings! Sorry to have disappeared so abruptly last night - I had a pretty severe nosebleed :P
Happiest of birthdays to DR Jason - when does your tour start and will you be in SW Ohio?
Traveling vibes to DRs Jose and Elmore - I'm glad both of you will have your traveling finished before the real crunch of the holiday week!
-
Good Morning, DR Ginny! -And thanks for the Travel Vibes.
-
And ~~~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~~~ to my fellow traveler and fellow DR elmore today too!
-
Well, I'm about halfway through "Fruity Morsels', but it's almost time to start boarding my flight, so....
-
DR singdaw - I, too, also own the Special Edition DVD of "My Fair Lady", but have yet to watch it - let alone unwrap it. However, I do remember watching the movie once during high school, and catching bits and pieces of it here and there whenever it's been on TV, but I don't think I've watched it all the way through in years(!).
*And I was the Tenor1 Busker in my high school production. :)
-
DR Ginny - DR Jason mentioned that he will be playing two or three days in Dayton, OH. He should have his final schedule and venue information today or tomorrow. -However, in the meantime, if you Google for "TheatreWorks" and "A Christmas Carol", you may be able to find the info. -And DR Jason is also a bit "puzzled" himself as to why they haven't received their complete itineraries yet.
-
OK - It's time to board Flight 1888...
Laters...

'morning, Jose! Thanks for the info about Jason. Have a good flight!

Well.....I think Sheila Gish did a fine job as Joanne in the Donmar COMPANY....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khypl3a1hV4
She looks like Carroll Baker - which is a plus for me.
It was very strange to see Bobby played by a black actor - or at least different. And "What Would We Do Without You" was turned into kind of a coke-induced Stepin Fetchit routine. I haven't seen a production of the show, so I don't know what it is supposed to be....
The only song I really didn't like was "Another Hundred People" which is also on the page if you scroll down. That girl kept bugging out her eyes like she was being pinched.
-
BUT after listening to the cast album for almost 40 years, any variation sounds strange to me....and Gish seems to be flat on some of the held notes.... Or maybe it's Joanne. :P
-
Gish seems to be flat
The costume designer wanted her to use a push-up bra, but she refused.

Happy Birthday to Jason (hope he sees his greetings)

There is more than enough blame to go around to fill the coffers of both the union and the producers.
-
The costume designer wanted her to use a push-up bra, but she refused.
Prolly couldn't find one big -- er one to fit.
Damn....I had to go find Pamela Myers on YouTube and hear "Another Hundred People" to forget that other thing.
DR SINGDAW all of the costumes at Donmar were....strange. :P
-
I don't want to sound like a know it all but I knew this was not going to be a simple one or two day strike quickly and easily resolved. The stakes are too high on both sides and the venom (also on both sides) runs deep. I don't know how long it's going to last but if shows are cancelled through Thanksgiving weekend that does not bode well for the quick resolution of issues.
Drowsy and Rent will most certainly close because of the strike and if it goes on throughout December the list will grow. There is talk that Grinch will re-open tomorrow because they had negotiated a special agreement well before the strike and the Union seems to agree now. If this had not happened then Grinch probably would not have re-opened.
It's a sad situation on all sides (and I'm not taking sides, though I'm a strong Union man, holder of 3 performing union cards). I just hope the situation can be resolved before January.
-
Good morning, all! The laundry is in the washer, and soon Jo and I will run out for various errands. I really love her and Randy, and I am so grateful to them for everything.
The flight's this afternoon, so I have plenty of time to pack and drag myself to Dayton.

We will be on Long Island for the holiday. Anthony is leaving this morning and I will leave Wednesday afternoon. I have a half day at the office and then it's off to Long Island. I have finished my holiday shopping for my niece and nephew (and a newborn grand niece scheduled to be born on November 23rd, the due date) and we will mail the boxes on Saturday morning. We return to the city on Sunday November 25 and then I have only 4 1/2 days of work left for the year (but who's counting).

Hi folks.
Thank you for all of the recovery vibes. I confess this is the toughest surgery I’ve had to date. Not painful, per say, but I’m very “uncomfortable” and seem to tire out very easy. I take a nap every afternoon for a few hours only to get up, eat something and go back to bed around eight.
Thelma is taking me to the doctor for my post op tomorrow. Maybe if he takes the stitches out I'll start to feel better.
I wake up at about 5:30 AM (that’s the “going to work” training) and just can lay in bed past 7—I’ve tried.
Happiest of Birthdays to our very own DR Jason!
SAFE travel vibes to both DR Elmore and to DR Jose!
I have to say I'm loving the new Bright House cable. A cloud can go over and I still have a signal and when someone calls it is so very nice to know who it is.
I think I suprise people (like Thelma) when I can answer the phone, "Hello, Thelma" instead of just "Hello".

"greatest hot sandwich"? I confess I had a wonderful open faced steak sandwich at Armstrongs when I was in Pittsburgh. It had cheese over it. Yummers!
Maybe I need to make a trip back for another one??? ;) :)

I agree with DR Jane that one of the few things I do miss with Direct TV was Tivo and the “wish list”. I did mention it to Bright House when I was having the phone problems. The lady I spoke with said they love the feedback so they know how to make their service better. Who knows, maybe the “wish list” will make a come back.
Happy belated Birthday Wishes to DP Skip! I hope it was a very nice day for you!
So doomsday is going to be sometime next May, huh? Well it will be my 50th birthday but I hardly think the world is going to end. I thought life STARTED at 50!
Reminds me of a time when Mom and I were in the check out line at the grocery store and one of the rags head lines was “World Ends—THIS WEEKEND!” . I remember remarking to Mom that if the world was going to end in a day or two, then why were we buying the weeks worth of groceries?
I say go in and get the kids from the kooks and then leave them in the cave for as long as they want to stay.
Oh, DR TomovOZ, I did manage to show Thelma some of the pictures of your bird friends. She can’t believe they are wild and just come to your house to visit. They are so lovely.

There is more than enough blame to go around to fill the coffers of both the union and the producers.
That's what it looks like to me. I'm just sorry that so many shows will be dark during Thanksgiving and especially sorry that the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids promotions during this week won't happen. That's a lot of money lost for a great cause no matter who is to blame.

A little uncouth, but my "flavorite" hot sandwich (away-from-home variety) for a long time was the McRib, which McDonald's brought back for a short while at some point IIRC. but seems to have discontinued again.
The cheesesteak subs from the Three Aces "restaurant" in Cambridge was a major favorite during law school, and I actually dreamed a few months ago about having one of those again. :)
-
If my caller ID shows a state that I know I don't know anyone there I do not answer. Sometimes they are relentless. I answer and if there is a liver person I tell them to put me on the do not call list which I opted for and people seem to ignore.
You'd go crazy in Iowa with all the political calls, which aren't covered by the Do Not Call list. Many of the caller id's are cell phones from somewhere else so I don't answer those. Other's have the candidates names. I ignored them for a long time. I started to answer them to tell them I'm not supporting their candidate in hopes I'll get crossed off their list.

Seeing all these birthday greetings for someone called DR Jason makes me wonder what I've been missing.
I, of course, remember DR Jason as someone who posts sporadically to the forum...and who was a daily figure here up until a month-and-a-half ago, or so. But he always seems to disappear as if our interest in him didn't matter to him.
Still...perhaps he's communicating daily with a group of you and still logging on to read.
In that spirit, I wish Jason a happy birthday and hope he'll find time to remember that many folks here do wish him well and continued happiness.

There "will be" two of us in the office this morning. And one of us (me) in the office this afternoon.
Tomorrow, there will be three of us.
Wednesday, I don't care how many will be here (two, I believe), even though I'll work from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
-
We are finally getting a taste of "winter", if the meteorologists are accurate. Foggy morning will give way to sunshine. Later in the day, however, fog will return with rain and much colder temperatures. Currently, it's F 51.6 degrees. It could get into the upper 30s this evening. That's "BRRRRRR_R_R_R_R" for the Bay Area.

Speaking of strangers, I spy one Charles Edward Pogue as being logged on.

Today I have DEXTER recorded from last night which I may or may not get to. New episodes of my favorite Monday shows, too. A full day of viewing.

I think I must have been 10 when I had my first hot, open-faced sandwich - a hot turkey sandwich in some restaurant between here and New York. On that same trip I had my first open faced roast beef sandwich, too. For me, that was the best part of that NYC trip, those "new" sandwiches.

I had about 2 hours of running errands with Jo, including several Christmas gift excursions, and a wonderful breakfast. I've now finished packing and I'll hang out till the drive to Dayton. Everyone in 2-year-old Jayden's family is sick this morning, and I'm praying that my constitution is strong between the vitamins and supplements to withstand the bug and stay healthy during the flight and later in Manhattan.
The next time I post will be from West 82nd Street. Keep those vibes coming!

Regarding "With A Song in My Heart" and comments about the color fluctuations, etc.
Has anyone ever noticed/noted that a lot of these Fox video titles have a feature that offers a "restoration comparison"?
There must be an in-house rule that no film will ever get more than 96 hours of digital restoration (no matter how much more is needed to do the job fully/completely). The last few films on which I've viewed the restoration comparison noted that 96 hours of restoration had been performed.
"With A Song in My Heart" could have stood 192 hours. Perhaps, then, this glorious property would have been restored to its original glory instead of the patchwork we got of great color, okay color, too light color, too dark color, etc.
It's great to have this film, but it would have been even greater to have revelled in its original Technicolor splendors.
I sure hope they're doing more than 96 hours to restore "The Robe" for its impending two-DVD release.
-
DR Ron Pulliam - Perhaps your flush is caused by not enough hours of restoration?

Just don't.
I won't do it.
Not one step.

Good Afternoon!
Greetings from New York City!
:)
-
DR JOSE is back in the City that Never Sleeps. We demand photographic proof of the trip.
DR ELMORE is in the air.
-
DR CILLA LIZ - they might call you back to try to persuade you.
My guess is they wouldn't call you back if you were a supporter. 8)
-
DR RLP - I noticed that "96 hours of restoration" on a few films as well.....quien sabe?
Looking at Amazon and the message boards, it seems a LOT of us fell in love with this movie and Susan Hayward when this film was broadcast on NBC'S SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES....during its first season.....I remember the broadcast sequence as GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, THE SNOWS OF KILMANJARO, and then TITANIC!!! But I could be wrong.
-
A lot of my DD DVD's arrived today!
Anyone else who has watched THE JAZZ SINGER DVD - I really liked those excerpts from GOLD DIGGERS OF 1929 - but it seemed to me that the number they called the finale was a pretty ordinary number, and that the other number MIGHT really be the finale, including Winnie Lightner's vocal tag....pretty funny stuff.
That number is pretty BIG stuff to be sure.
-
Ben - The Major and the Minor sadly is not available on DVD - anywhere.

We use 'em around here for women. ;D

Happy to see Pogue posting - we had a lovely telephonic conversation the other day.

Oh, and I'm up. The fog has given way to blue skies.

Is he trodding the boards this holiday season? :D

Well... We did indeed take off about 15 minutes, and we were fine until were over North Carolina, and the captain announced that due to the heavy air traffic flying in and out of LGA, we would probably have to circle for a bit. And I realized that the sun was "shifting" from one side of the plane to the other, well... I guess we had indeed started circling.
Once we got closer to LGA, we were informed that there might be one more brief delay, but then we got the go ahead to come in for the landing. We landed, then the plane made its way to the gate. We pulled up to the gate, then.. Well, we almost made it to the gate. Apparently, one of the signal lights on the gateway was not working properly. So, after that initial "DING" when everyone started to get out of their seats and grab their luggage, the captain come on and said that we were about four feet short of the gate, and that we would have to sit down again until he moved us closer to the gate. Of course, since he thought he had the go ahead to disembark, he had turned off the engine, so that took a minute or two to start up again. Then the plane foot-ed ahead a couple more feet, and then the "DING", and then we all started to get up again. Well...
It seemed that more than just the signal light on the gateway was broken. The gate itself was too. While looking outside my window, I started to see a couple of Delta coaches pull up to the plane. Hmm... And sure enough, about five minutes later, the captain announced that we would be disembarking from the rear of the plane. And since I was sitting in Row 29 (out of 32), well... I was one of the first people off the plane. :)
And by the time I made my way to Baggage Claim, my bag had just appeared on the carousel. :)
Thankfully, no one on the plane seemed to have any connecting flights to make - or at least none that were going to be close to call due to the delays. And the captain had a good sense of humor about the whole situation, and there were lots of people laughing and giggling - myself included - throughout all the "gate trauma". In case...
I'm home. :)

DR JOSE is back in the City that Never Sleeps. We demand photographic proof of the trip.
I do indeed have photographic proof of my trip. And I can even post most of them here on this family-friendly site. I'll provide passwords for anyone else interested in the ones I can't/shouldn't post. ;D

Favorites HOT Sandwiches
Philly Steaks
Hot Chicken/Roast Beef (The ones witht he gravy poured over them)
French Dips
Do they have french dips in France?
Maybe Francois would know.

Good thing you weren't on THE AMAZING RACE, DR JOSE.

And another round of Travel Vibes to DR elmore!~~~~~

Welcome home, DR Jose!

They're everywhere....everywhere. ::)

Put me on the Password List.
-
This gives me an idea for dinner tonight -
Leftover lamb, thinly sliced, served open-faced on some kind of bread (challah would work well), with some avegolemono sauce spooned over.
Maybe some sauteed spinach on the side.
-
Glad you made it home safely, DR JoseSPiano.
However, I can't imagine you giggling under ANY circumstances. ;)
-
Thanks for the Major/Minor confirmation. Anthony will be disappointed. He has a copy of a copy of a copy of Dior, wait, that's the wrong reference.
He has an old VHS copy and he really likes the movie but it's not to be, at least for a while.
-
Jose, glad you made it home without much of a hassle, in your opinion anyway. I don't like circling, makes me sick.
-

I know my folks and I watched all those films when they first aired. We sometimes watched repeats, but sometimes my dad wanted something different.
When "With A Song in My Heart" was scheduled for a repeat, I did extra chores just to get a guarantee of being able to see it again.
After that airing, I didn't see it again until sometime in 1972 on a Florida TV station. After that, it was on AMC in the early-mid 1990s, from which I made a VHS recording that had to satisfy me until now.
The packaging indicates that this issue is its first appearance on DVD. In actuality, this DVD is the film's FIRST appearance on any home video media. It had been announced for VHS, but never got issued.
-
DR SWW - Or could also serve the leftover lamb and avgolemono sauce over rice or rice pilaf. Or some orzo. Although, those lemon-and-olive-oil baked potatoes always get my vote when it comes to deciding Grecian starch I want to have with my meal.
-
Jose, glad you made it home without much of a hassle, in your opinion anyway. I don't like circling, makes me sick.
Well, we actually didn't really circle. We basically took a long, but turning curve in order to eat up some air time. Once we got to LGA, we flew right in.
*I also counted at least 20 planes on the tarmac in line for take-off. And once I got in the terminal, I noticed that two flights due in from Dayton, OH, were cancelled this morning. I hope that DR elmore is not affected by those circumstances.
-
Although, those lemon-and-olive-oil baked potatoes always get my vote when it comes to deciding Grecian starch I want to have with my meal.
Do you have a procedure/recipe to share for these????????
-
DR SWW - Oh... And if you have some pine nuts in your cupboard and/or fridge/freezer... Those work well tossed in with the sauteed spinach.
-
And the bus driver who drove me from the resort this morning to the airport was also quite the comedian. He mentioned that he had just come off his vacation, and it turned out his first shift back was the early morning run. Ah, well.
However, he did "kindly" turn down the lights in the coach since it was so early, and he more than kindly turned down the volume on the sales pitch videos that started up as soon as we left Disney property - apparently, those are triggered by GPS. And were also given the option of having an "open mic" instead of having to watch and listen to the Disney promo videos. Thankfully, no one took him up on his kind offer.

Well, I was trying to keep to the TOD.
Any hot leftovers with the appropriate gravy would do.

A secretary is NOT a toy. Just a reminder to Office Man DR RLP.

And courtesy of Epicurious.com.... Here's a recipe for the afore-mentioned potatoes. I prefer to cut the potatoes length-wise into halves or quarters depending on the size of the potatoes. I like the resulting "crust" to "melting potato" ratio. They take a bit longer to bake that way, but I think it's time well spent. -And if want to go vegetarian, just add more lemon juice or a little water to the pan. *I also like the method of parboiling the potatoes before you place them in the oven. This results in a sort of "potato lava" that comes out of the piece of potato when you cut into them - much like the potatoes in Chicken Vesuvio. YUM!
**********
PATATES RIGANATES
Editor's note: This recipe is excerpted from Aglaia Kremezi's book The Foods of the Greek Islands.
To read more about Kremezi and Greek Easter, click here.
Few people can resist these potatoes, which are capable of stealing the show from any food they accompany — so make sure you have plenty for seconds. Although it is served all over Greece, this dish is particularly good on islands like Naxos, where the local potatoes have an exceptional taste. On the special days when a leg of lamb or a chicken is roasted, the potatoes are cooked in its juices.
If you want to cook this dish using small potatoes, there is no need to peel them, but I suggest that you halve them, because they taste best when they can absorb more sauce.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
by Aglaia Kremezi
Houghton Mifflin Company
3 pounds baking potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano, crumbled
1 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup beef stock or chicken stock
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Place the potatoes in a single layer in a 13-x-9-inch baking dish and pour the oil over them. Add the garlic, dried oregano, salt and pepper to taste and toss well to coat with the oil.
Bake the potatoes for 15 minutes. Add the stock, toss and bake for 10 minutes more. Add the lemon juice, toss and bake for 10 to 15 minutes more, or until the potatoes are cooked through. If you like, preheat the broiler and broil the potatoes for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown.

Beef! It is what's for dinner~
Well, maybe.
I just watched a movie called "Dream Catcher". I had read the book by Stephen King and I am sorry folks but I just couldn't make heads or tails out of it--the dvd didn't help much either.
Spoilers:
Ya got your Grey's.
Ya got this butt worm.
Ya got this red fuzzy growing stuff.
But the Greys aren't Grey they look like something else. So what is the red stuff? Ya shoot a Grey and you get red stuff but when the dog ate it, he got a butt worm.
Then the disabled kid is really some other kind of alien. So what's up with that?
I didn't get it.

As for the continuing Local One Strike here in NYC... The casting director with whom I just worked with on the cruise was/is from Tara Rubin Casting, and she's the lead casting director for Jersey Boy's. Needless to say, she's very sad and disappointed that John Lloyd Young will not get to play his "last show". :-\
-
DR Danise - I think you should post your comments about "Dream Catcher" on both the IMDB and Amazon. ;D
-
Hmmm.... I'm now wondering - since my mail just came - if the strike is having any effect on the payroll services for the Broadway shows too. :-\
-
DR Danise - I think you should post your comments about "Dream Catcher" on both the IMDB and Amazon. ;D
Well, I could aways say something about this is an example of why you should keep up on your dogs worm pills. :D ;D ;)

Butt worm?
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

I'm off to hike & very grumpy I didn't do so yesterday when the weather was beautiful, before the rain & wee bit of snow that fell last night.

I am just back in from a short walkie. It was a bit chilly, and the air was fresh, breezy and a bit misty.

Butt worm?
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
I'm just grateful it wasn't in "Smell o'Vision". LOL!

Be careful out on those trails!
I just came in from a taking a bit of a turn around the back yard. I feel like I do need to move around a little bit.

As for the Topic of the Day...
The aforementioned Hot Open-Faced Turkey and Roast Beef Sandwiches. I've also come across Hop Open-Faced Beef Brisket and Hot Open-Faced Roast Pork Loin Sandwiches too in my travels. All quite yummy, and sometimes I swap out the traditional mashed potatoes for a french fries.
And since we're talking about Open-Faced sandwiches, and since it's also DR Jason's birthday, and since DR Pogue made an appearance today, there's also that classic Kentucky Hot Brown.
-
And just in case your wondrin'....
Hot Brown Sandwich
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, room temperature and beaten
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 cup prepared whipped cream
8 slices toasted white bread, crust trimmed off
1 pound cooked turkey breast, thinly sliced
Grated Parmesan cheese for topping
1 (2-ounce) jar diced pimientos, drained
8 bacon slices, fried crisp
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Gradually add flour, stirring constantly, until smooth and free from lumps. Gradually stir in milk until sauce comes to a gentle boil, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and well blended.
In a small bowl, beat egg. Gradually add 1 cup of hot sauce, 1/3 cup at a time, to the egg, stirring constantly. Gradually add egg mixture to remaining sauce, stirring constantly until well blended; add salt and pepper to taste. Fold in whipped cream.
For each Hot Brown sandwich, place two slices of toasted bread on a metal (or flameproof) dish. Cover the toast with a liberal amount of turkey. Pour a generous amount of sauce over the turkey. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese. Place entire dish under a broiler until the sauce is speckled brown and bubbly. Remove from broiler, sprinkle with diced pimientos, cross two pieces of bacon over the top, and serve immediately.
Makes 4 servings of two open-faced sandwiches each.

Hmmmm.....I really rather enjoy this film. It was my introduction to actor Damian Lewis and he's wonderful in it.
You've got a bunch of kids who "save" a "special child" from the retarded bullying of bigger kids. They discover, to their amazement, that they have acquired some special gifts, which they instinctively know they got from the special kid, who calls himself "Duddits" (he has a speech impediment).
As grownups, each man has retained his gifts. One weekend, they go to one of the men's family cabin for an annual bonding, and their worlds change forever. Turns out, there are aliens on earth, and these aliens have landed in the forest where the cabin is. The aliens, it turns out, use humans as hosts for their larvae and can assume human form.
The story is about the men who fight to their deaths, most of them, trying to prevent/avoid what is happening.
Turns out that Duddits is also an alien -- but presumable a friendly, if very ugly in natural form alien -- who came to earth and took the form of a special child. He imbued his friends with special abilities and then waited for the time when he would be able to prevent the destruction of humanity and earth with their help (and with them using their abilities).
Beautiful filming of an odd story. I watch this every now and again.
It's not a perfect film by any means, but I find it fascinating.
-
I've never been able to regret egrets:
But do you regress whenever you go through an egress?
-
Hmm... I can't tell if the "small" headache I have is from a need for food or a need for some more sleep. Or both?
-
Oh, yeah....the red stuff. That's what happens when the developed larvae explode out of the host human (using the backside as a point of exit). It's blood and placental material as a best guess.
-
I love Copy/Paste. I just put both of your postings into my Cook'n Software cookbook, DR Jose!
-
But do you regress whenever you go through an egress?
If the egress is my mom's house, I guess I do regress a bit.
;)

Have you read the book? I only ask because that's not the idea I got from it. The butt worms gave the aliens some kind mind power and they lived off of each other. That's why I don't get the red fuzzy stuff growning all over everything. Was that really what the grays looked like or another part of them or what?
-
Is all this talk of Rice Piaf and Egrets (rien?) in honor of the notes discussing La Vie En Rose? Did I miss that connection somewhere in the postings, or just an eerie coincidence?
-
"This way to the egress."
-
I don't know from red fuzzy stuff growing all over everything. In the cabin yes, but I didn't see red fuzzy stuff anywhere else (unlike in "The War of the Worlds", Spielberg-style, in which the aliens were terraforming earth into a Martian landscape).
I know I must have read the book years ago, but I have no recollection of it.
-
Ack-ack!
Page 8.
No, I still won't.
Don't even suggest that I do.
-
With six you get egress - my favorite Brian Keith film
-
And there is the silent passive egression.
-
I gress, you gress, she gress, egress.
-

It was all over the faces of the people they were keeping in the barn. That's why the General wanted to kill them all. They kept getting reports from the doctors that it might not do anything but he didn't want to take the chance. He menioned (both in the film and the book) they called it "Riply"--a nod to "Alien".
Anyway, it made no sense to me. I just couldn't connect the dots. I like some of Kings other work but this one did nothing for me. I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time. :)
-
As Cole Porter noted, "Miss Otis's Egrets"
-
Oh, and it was also all over the animals that were moving through the woods. The dog ate part of a deer that had it--which was how he got the butt worm. But the butt worms laid eggs so why they formed from the red stuff...
Arrrr. I'm just going to have to forget about it.

One of the first movies discussed on HHW that I don't think I want to see..

As for "HHW Dear Partners".... Just how many "HHW Widows and Widowers" do we have on this here site? or not on the site as it were? ;)

If it's any consolation, "butt worms" isn't a term used iin the film if I recall correctly.

As for "The Point of Idle Chatter"...
My favorite Beatles' songs:
"Blackbird"
"Yesterday"
"Michelle"
"If I Fell"
As for Favorite Covers:
"Ticket To Ride" - The Carpenters
And basically all of the soundtrack to the movie, "I Am Sam".

I haven't caught up to this point, but what about Jane and Keith? Or did they start this topic?
-
Nope, you're right, Jane and Keith. I knew I forgot someone important.
-
Waiting for news. Had a little work session.
-
It all started because I made a comment when wishing Skip a happy birthday about partners who don't post and David (Singdaw) added to it (something about a support group for partners of HHW posters) and then Jose brought up the latest reference.
-
And as for "THE INEXORABILITY OF A TACO "...
RE: Taquitos - They've been around for a while. Some places called/call them "rolled tacos". In fact, there's a "rolled taco" join on Santa Monica Blvd., a few blocks away from the Hudson. I had many a rolled taco/taquito there while I was working on What If?. I think TGIFriday's or some other "Casual Dining" restaurant chain brought them into vogue over the past couple of years.
-
Hmm... I just received this bit of news from Local 802:
Despite failure to reach an overall settlement, Local 1 has agreed to take down its picketline at the St James Theatre and allow "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to re-open for its limited holiday run.We are awaiting confirmation that The Jujamcyn organization has ageed to resume performaces of the Grinch. We will post information on the Grinch schedule as soon as it becomes available. Musicians should also check with the show's in-house contractor.

Ahh...thanks. I'll eventually catch up to it, though. :)
-
DR George - If no one else has volunteered to tape the "Holiday In Bryant Park"....
Thanks! I'm not at home so I can't remember, but I think someone else also volunteered to record this, also. But if you wouldn't mind being a back-up (just in case), I'd appreciate that. :D I'll let you know for sure when I get home tonight after rehearsal.
-
Oohhh... I also just received a e-mail from my favorite store, Pour. They'll be joining the whole "Black Friday" madness with a storewide sale this coming weekend on all their bottles. Hmm....
-
DR Ginny - Is it possible that your locality is having extra leaf collection days right now? Or maybe you just have weird thieves. ;)
-
RE: Toots Thielman - BK, your post reminded me that I'm still need to track down the recording/CD of Toots' rendition of "I Ain't Down Yet" from The Unsinkable Molly Brown". I remember hearing on the radio a couple of years ago, and just breaking out in a big smile right then and there.
-
...And, so far, courtesy of the DVR, "Ugly Betty" and "Project Runway" (currently in progress).
-
Hmm... WOW! I've actually worked with THREE(!) of the competitors/designers! WOW!!!!!!!!!
-
DR edisaurus - Thanks for the book "recommendation"! I believe I may pick up a copy of your friend's book for my nephew.
-
DR Ginny - Is it possible that your locality is having extra leaf collection days right now? Or maybe you just have weird thieves. ;)
We thought of that possibility (the extra collection times), but would they be between 6:30 and 7:30 on a Saturday evening? The second possibility is far more likely.
DR Elmore and I should have realized that someone might just have been looking for set-dressing items for Look Homeward, Angel ;)
-

-
DR CILLA LIZ - they might call you back to try to persuade you.
My guess is they wouldn't call you back if you were a supporter. 8)
One would think, but last election cycle I was one of the callers. They call their supporters if the candidate is coming to town, if the candidate isn't coming to town, to see if they want to volunteer, ad nausem. The calls have become fewer since I started telling them my preference and that no, I wouldn't consider your candidate as number 2
-
And I believe I've now caught up on the Notes and Posts from the past couple of days. I think. ???
-
And, now, for the "short versions":
My 3-night Bahamian Cruise: :)
My 1-day day at Disneyworld: :)
;)
I took a bunch of pics, and I just need to pick as well as resize them for posting.

Thanks, DR JoseSPiano, for the recipes.
Thanks, DR Ron Pulliam, for the walkie photos.

Well Hello!
-
Happy Birthday Jason.
-
I've been enjoying the Donmar production of "Company" since it was aired on TV in the UK.
The voice of Bobby was "unusual" enough for me to NOT buy the CD. I do however like the performance and the voice does not irritate me when I watch the show.
-
and I agree with DR JRand re Shiela's "Ladies Who Lunch".
-
Best of restful and healing wishes to DR Danise.
-
Welcome home DR Jose.

I don't think I would like a CD recording, but the video is interesting...EXCEPT for the costumes..... :P and Marta :P :P :P :P

She's a beautiful lady, which I think Joanne really HAS to be....and sometimes is NOT. ;D

From what I've read, the Jujamcyn's will not allow Local One to work the Grinch so it will remain closed.
But let us not forget that Local One struck the Grinch (the SHOW), receiving much bad publicity for it. I find it odd that they "suddenly" reversed themselves. I think they knew that the Jujamcyns would not allow them to work the show, and hoped that the League would then be the butt of the bad publicity. I think both sides are game players, but I think Local One is the worse of the two. And it's now pretty much being reported that the League did not, in fact, walk away from yesterday's negotiations first - there was apparently some sort of rift between the head of IATSE (who wanted the union to accept what had been hammered out) and the head of Local One, who, from all reports, is an arrogant and disruptive person. He refused to accept and walked out.
-
No news.
-
Hence it may be time for that meat ball sandwich.
-
But from where? Subway or Quickie's?
-
Well I had a hot beef sandwich for lunch. MMMMM very tasty, then I wanted a nap. But I'm here at the office. This week is nice here. I have a brief (maybe 1 -1 1/2 hour) bench trial on an assault case tomorrow morning. I have a chance to win it. I think there are problems with the ID that the prosecutor doesn't realize, but it could go either way.
And that's it for the week. I love to work when the rest of the world goes on vacation. I have lots of research I can do, get the office books in order, send out statements all that fun stuff without countless interruptions.
-
Hmm... WOW! I've actually worked with THREE(!) of the competitors/designers! WOW!!!!!!!!!
In what...er...umm....capacity, Jose?

In response to Jose's:
As for the rest of the "Fruity Morsels"...
As for "HHW Dear Partners".... Just how many "HHW Widows and Widowers" do we have on this here site? or not on the site as it were?
DR Ben replied:
Ant and Me
Laura and her husband
Ginny and Richard
David (Singdaw) and his husband
Miss Karen and her spouse
Fred and Skip
Matthew and his partner
Elan and his wife (and child)
Am I missing anyone
Aren't the above actually "Dear Partners" currently alive & kicking? Or did I misunderstand what Jose meant by "Widows/Widowers"?
-
Ron, are you feeling better?
You understood correctly, Ben just began a new train of thought. I suppose because he couldn't think of any widows or widowers.
-
Of course then there are the HHW Orphan pets... ;)
-
Well Hello!
You're not a widow/widower are you, Tom?
-
Ack-ack!
Ack-ack-ack!
Another page, another melody.
And no, I still won't dance.
Don't ask me.

Yes, you misunderstood what Jose meant. He was thinking in terms of the usage comperable to golf widows or football widows, or PTA widowers - one partner is completely involved, leaving the other to be sort of stranded on the sidelines.
(The rallying of the Hainsies/Kimlets for Brain from Planet X was special, in that so many of the widows/widowers also came along.)

I thought that might have been the definition but the list didn't fit, as far as I could tell.
Oh, how about Noel & Joy!

Hospital news delay....still waiting....

Why TIVO has a "wishlist" Direct TV has "keyword". No wonder I have trouble remembering, you think they could have come up with something better than "keyword" ::)

JRand-Are they still at the hospital waiting for the test results?

And as soon as I logged on and saw TomovOz's name I knew I had forgotten him. Thanks for filling in all the others.

And I think Woody and DerB are the only couple who currently posts. Am I correct? I know that Ann and Jed used to post but I don't know their current status. I gladly put them on the list though as a couple who both post.

I believe you're wrong about GPB being the first presentation. I think it was HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE, and NBC then and there made the decision to show the film full screen instead of letterboxed dooming us to decades of pan and scan horrors.
-
...Oh, how about Noel & Joy!
Dual posters.
As have been Charles Pogue and his lovely wife.
-
Hmm... WOW! I've actually worked with THREE(!) of the competitors/designers! WOW!!!!!!!!!

And now for some pictures!
Here is a pic - albeit a bit tilted - of my stateroom.

Here is a pic of myself with Ron LaRosa at the Sail Away Party. Ron used to be an actor - he was with Les Mis for years. He later went into casting, and is now the "Global Casting Coordinator" for Walt Disney Entertainment. And a great friend as well.

I spent most of the afternoon with POWER RANGERS OPERATION OVERDRIVE - Volume 3. I did the first two volumes at the end of spring, so this is volume 3. I'm thinking there will eventually be five volumes in all since they're searching for five precious jewels that go in a crown, and they've now located three of them.
-
And I think Woody and DerB are the only couple who currently posts. Am I correct? I know that Ann and Jed used to post but I don't know their current status. I gladly put them on the list though as a couple who both post.

;D
-
Another page?
Another tune?
Another opportunity to say I won't dance.
Stop asking me!
-
I also watched the bonus features. Well, there was only one real featurette - this one on their Zords (mechanized weapons that can combine in a Transformer-like way to form a mega-robot.)
The other bonus feature was a multi-level game.
-
The second night of the cruise was their "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme night. They had pirate-themed party favors for us at dinner, followed by a Pirate Party up on deck. And to close out the Pirate Party, they featured a special Dessert Buffet - and, yes, that is a big ole pirate ship made out of chocolate in the background!

Next, I quickly zipped through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. The gay characters were not on today, but appear to be on tomorrow.

DR JRand, that "finale" on the JAZZ SINGER DVD. I believe I read in some reviews of the set that Warners made a mistake with early pressings, and that scene is actually a previously lost number from THE ROGUE SONG.
-
Moored of Castaway Cay was the actual movie "prop" of The Flying Dutchman from "The Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. -In the background is the Disney Wonder.

-
Thanks DR Ron. I'll stick to reading books.
-
I finshed up the afternoon watching the first 25 minutes of INFAMOUS.
Toby Jones is certainly more stature-appropriate for Truman Capote than Pihilip Seymour Hoffman was. Both men have the voice nailed. Truman has just gotten to Kansas, and that's about as far as I've gotten thus far. I am enjoying it though with different actors playing some of the same characters as in CAPOTE, it takes some getting used to since I've watched CAPOTE at least 10 times.
-
I should be able to finish it tonight before rpime time starts since I won't have any more of POWER RANGERS to watch.
-
And here is the "gang" on our final night of the cruise having dinner at Animator's Palate - the dining room "comes to life" (it starts off in Black & White, and goes into Color) throughout the meal, and there's even a soundtrack to go with it!
Here is Jonathan from the Disney Cruise Line office - he's the guy who called me last Wednesday morning wondering if I could be at LGA that afternoon - and Merri from Tara Rubin Casting. Merri ran the workshop that was presented with/for the current cast on board the Disney Wonder.
And another pic of Ron and Me...

-
To close out the cruise, Disney holds a neat closing event, Till We Meet Again. All the characters come out for a final meet and greet, as well as the cast members in their signature role costumes. It's basically a final photo op for everybody. Including myself. :)

...And I think that's enough pics. For now. ;)
-
I just realized the one thing I did not take a pic of was the Theatre on board the Disney Wonder. What a beautiful theatre, and an amazing facility! Disney did not hold back when it came to the production values, from the pre-show to the pixie dust. And the team of stage managers and technicians they've assembled is pretty top-notch too - and they would have to be since they present a different Broadway-caliber show/revue each night of the cruise.

But you mean paper, don't you!

SNARK ATTACK WEEK ON THE HHW CHANNEL!
;)
Ah, my bon pun has gone astray.
-
Will I never have news?
From MSNBC, voters in Delaware and Iowa think Barack Obama and John Edwards are far more likely to say exactly what they believe about the issues in the Democratic race for the presidential nomination, while Hilary Rodham Clinton is considered less likely to reveal her hand. That said, they find her far and away the most electible of all the candidates and the one most likely to win the nomination.
-
Only two hours left in the work day.
-
Wow, Winkworth, you're fast!
Thanks for your help. My Tucson buddy will be very happy.

Mr. Whipple' TV Actor Dick Wilson Dies
By JEFF WILSON,AP
Posted: 2007-11-19 13:32:55
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dick Wilson, the character actor and pitchman who for 21 years played an uptight grocer begging customers "Please, don't squeeze the Charmin," died Monday. He was 91.
The man famous as TV's "Mr. Whipple" died of natural causes at the Motion Picture & Television Fund Hospital in Woodland Hills, said his daughter Melanie Wilson, who is known for her role as a flight attendant on the ABC sitcom "Perfect Strangers."
Wilson made more than 500 commercials as Mr. George Whipple, a man consumed with keeping bubbly housewives from fondling toilet paper. The punch line of most spots was that Whipple himself was a closeted Charmin-squeezer.
The first commercial aired in 1964 and by the time the campaign ended in 1985 the tag line and Wilson, a former Canadian airman and vaudeville veteran, were pop culture touchstones.
He also played a drunk on several episodes of "Bewitched," as appeared as various characters on "Hogan's Heroes," "The Bob Newhart Show," and Walt Disney productions.

I was watching some TIME TUNNEL episodes...interesting home movies on the disk....did EVERYONE on the set smoke? It is funny to see Lee Meriwether sitting at the console in her white medical smock calmly smoking a ciggie and waiting for the next shot.

I have to work tomorrow. Maybe I should have watched that movie more closely and found out exactly How to Marry a Millionaire.
DRJOSE such lovely photos!!! And to think, it all started with a mouse....any pictures of Annette or tributes to her in any of the shows?

Cute Callie. :)
Today at the end of dog training we spent some time teaching the dogs a couple of tricks. One dog was learning how to bow. Sherlock did that as a puppy but once he began limping we stopped & I haven’t done it since. Watching the other dog I wondered, said “Sherlock take a bow” and to my amazement, he did. :o :D

-
Hot Brown Sandwich
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, room temperature and beaten
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 cup prepared whipped cream
8 slices toasted white bread, crust trimmed off
1 pound cooked turkey breast, thinly sliced
Grated Parmesan cheese for topping
1 (2-ounce) jar diced pimientos, drained
8 bacon slices, fried crisp
You forgot a key ingredient: cardiac resuscitator paddles!

DR edisaurus - Thanks for the book "recommendation"! I believe I may pick up a copy of your friend's book for my nephew.
This one of Danny's is a favorite of mine:
-
Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.
-
I think it was the HHW vibes that got me back to LaGuardia almost on time. When I got to the airport in Dayton, it was around 3:30 and the flight was scheduled at 5:08. When I checked my bag, I waqs told that due to high winds in Manhattan, the flight would be two hours late. We boarded at 4:45 and landed at 6:45. So much for a 2-hour delay!
Randy called me to say goodbye and told me that Macbeth sent his wishes for a safe flight. I believe he was too afraid of the wrath of Lady M to call me himself.
And now to watch THE CLOSER.

Next up DON'T BOTHER TO KNOCK.

I am super excited for my thanksgiving plans. My roommate and I are having a friend and her six year old daughter over on Wednesday night for a slumber party. We're all going to camp out in the living room and then make dinner together the next day.

Pierre has his doctor appointment a week from today. We are having a "ball themed" potluck gathering on Sunday afternoon to celebrate.
Have a ball, T-Punk!
I'm assuming you'll be serving melon balls, meat balls, drinking bocce balls, and serving Mozart chocolate balls for dessert?

Hi TPunk. Hope you'll be back more often!

My DH is back from shooting in NC with Irish Public Television. What a nice group of folks! We just put them on the plane.
-
Now it looks like we might be able to interview Michael Kidd for the Johnny Mercer doc, or at least Joe Harris is trying to set it up for us. The good news of today is that American Masters is definitely interested in it, but I don't know if I will do any more work on it. At least the Mercer people will be happy about that, if it goes through.
I was surprised that Michael Kidd was still alive!
-
DR George, I watched LEGALLY BLONDE and really liked it.
Thank you so much for sending it!
-
The good die young.....I'm just sayin'.
-
Hi DRTPUNK.....friend Matthew was in the store on Saturday.
-
My body is telling me it needs a break from using the computer. For at least the next few days or longer my posts will need to be short. I’ll likely just briefly lurk. This will not be easy for me, but I must do it.
If I miss wishing anyone good thoughts I’m sure you know I am, even if I don’t state it.
I will be reading & answering emails.
-
I had a turkey sandwich - yes we made ours early.
That would be a great view at sunset or a star lit night, DR JOSE.....I bet.
-
I just got my latest online catalog from JG Autographs, Inc. I was amazed at the pages and pages of autographed photos of models who I have never even heard of in my life. Some of the photos were going for $65.00 a piece. At the same time, they had an autgraphed drum head signed by Placido Domingo and José Carreras that was going for a measly $35.00. AMAZING!
-
Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.
HURRAH! It is TPUNK!!!!

I have been quite critical of Marie Osmond's dancing. Other than the tribute she did to her father (which i thought was outstanding), i've found most of her other dances mediocre.
But that said, i thought she did great tonight. I was impressed with her competitiveness. And how hard she worked this week. She did great!
In fact i think everyone did great this week.
I really loved both of Mel B's dances. And Helio is great. I would guess they would be safe. And either jennie or marie will go home. I would stil send marie. But it should be interesting.

While the girls were in seminars the other chaperone and I took a walk and this is what I saw (becasue I was thinking Of DR Laura)

more leaves for Laura

I also found a leaf insect in my yard
(a couple of weeks ago but just got around to downloading it!)
-
RE: TORCHWOOD (we are weeks behind).
We just got up to the episode you guys were mentioning a few weeks ago (when John Barrowman was hardly in it). It was the one with Tash (sp?) and the necklace.
I didn't really enjoy it as much (don't particularly like her). I think it could have worked for me if i had liked the character more (or the story). But i definitely prefer when john barrowman is in much more of it!
-
"The Downloaded Leaf Insect". Surely that is the title of a book.
-
DR LAURA,
Your inbox is full.

:D

I finished watching INFAMOUS. I really enjoyed it. INFAMOUS and CAPOTE are truly two different animals even if they do deal with the same story. And they both have their pluses and minuses.
It took me a while to place the actor who was playing Dick Hickock: Lee Pace who's the lead on PUSHING DAISIES.
-
I watched the last 30 minutes of a LAW & ORDER episode from not too many years ago. It was the one about the female religious cult leader who had children in their cult have sex with adults. What a strange episode.
-
CHUCK: I liked the spy story tonight but I LOATHED all of the back-and-forth with Chuck and Lou. We make up-we break up-we make up again-we break up again. I got REALLY sick of it.
Zachery Levi must be in hog heaven with all of the kissing scenes they're giving his character with these really beautiful women.
-
HEROES: very tense episode tonight which I loved. I kind of figured out about the last scene before it actually got to it (and what a relief it was there). Yes, I missed some of my favorites, but any episode that doesn't have the dreary twins and Niki/Jessica is a bonus for me.
-
And JOURNEYMAN had the first of a two part episode. Wonderful twist at the end leading into next week's wrap-up.
-
Very beautiful leaves. Thank you, Vixmom.

TOD: "Open Food"

I made some room in the inbox.

LOL Jennifer, we agree again... kind of hoping we disagree on TAR...just to keep things interesting ;D

Beautiful leaves, Vixmom!
-
I have a 7:30 dentist's appointment tomorrow for my semi-annual check-up and cleaning, so I need to head down now to go to bed.
Good night!
-
DR JANE and other HHW'ers word just came from Emily that the hospital - Ryan's tumor is benign....and we go from here. Thanks so much to everyone for their vibes and thoughts and prayers.
Whew! I am so very glad to hear the good news JRand!

So glad to hear the good news, JRand!

Very beautiful leaves. Thank you, Vixmom.
Iwa s thinkingwhat fun it would be to load a huge aount of them into one of those "Vacuum Space saver bags" and mail them out to you...
then you coulddump them out on your driveway and let the neighbors wonder while DR Sandra raked them in a pile to jump in
-
well I must to bed... VIBES to ALL and special healing Vibes to Danise!!!
-
Good Evening!
DR Jason and I ended up dining at Dave & Buster's, and then proceeded into their "Million Dollar Midway" and played a few games of chance and almost-skill. ;) Good times.
-Alas, our waiter, Jon, never did take his shirt off. Ah, well. ;D
-
I am watching and episode of the short lived TV series WIDE COUNTRY (1962-63) starring Andrew Prine and BK's very own neighbor Earl Holliman.
I had forgotten what a good actor Holliman is...and what a yummy good looking guy, too! He does make a fine rodeo cowboy in this series.
I ought to interview the man.
-
I went to Gelson's and got some salad from their salad bar, and some baby shrimp from the what is it fish section - nice healthy salad, few calories, only I'm so stuffed now I feel like I want to vomit on the ground.
-
And I did pass on everyone's Birthday Wishes to Jason, and he said he did pop on earlier today, but ran out of time before he got a chance to respond. In any case, he sends a big "Thank You" back to all of you.
-
Well... As I was walking back up to Columbus Circle to catch the train back uptown, I almost hopped on the C Train at 50th Street since I suddenly started to feel very tired and sleepy - the past couple of days and nights caught up with me.
-Last night, I only got a few hours of sleep since I had to be up at 4:00am to catch my bus to the airport this morning. And during my last night on the cruise, the couple who were staying in the stateroom next to mine suddenly got "inspired" around 3:30am. And stayed "inspired" until around 6:30am. So... I definitely have some sleep to catch up. -And I guess I have a couple more details about the cruise and my day at Disneyworld to share as well. ;)
And since I really am not feeling coherent nor awake right now...
Goodnight.
-
And that's what comes from men and women dancing (a Fiddler on the Roof reference, I think)
-
That's what I though and I was amazed that there would be so many all in one place, without being a berevement site!
We're both from the South...do you suppose THAT's the reason?
-
I did pass on everyone's Birthday Wishes to Jason, and he said he did pop on earlier today, but ran out of time before he got a chance to respond.
Uh-huh!
-
I am watching Robert Wagner in A KISS BEFORE DYING.
HE was stunning in "With A Song in My Heart."
And how many here remember his rather outstanding supporting role in "Stars and Stripes Forever"?
-
Finished with motion picture watching.
-
What a fun day of posting this has been.
-
Of course, the usual suspects have all WUSSBURGERED, but at least there's Ron and FJL sitting there like so much fish.
-
I don't think my movie report will be popular with the haineshisway.com populace, but it's just one person's opinion.
-
Will we never get to page seventeen?
-
Of course, the usual suspects have all WUSSBURGERED, but at least there's Ron and FJL sitting there like so much fish.
I'd choose to be a rainbow trout, but fear folks will think I'm merely a carp.
-
All I have to say is I wasn't anywhere near this site when BK posted but I guess my name was listed so it looked like I was sitting around like so much fish.
-
I mean, holy mackeral
