Well, you've read the notes, the notes were presented in a startling new process, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they want the next notes presented in Moo-O-Vision.

Welcome six GUESTS.

Just before yesterday was locked, I was typing a post in the Quick-Reply box. I clicked on "Post" and got the message that the topic was locked! I thought that I had lost my post, but I clicked on the "back" button of my browser (Internet Explorer) and what I had written was still there! So, I was able to copy the text into Word, then I read the new notes and now I'm writing this post, explaining what I didn't post yesterday. ;)
-
Good Morning...
Well, the street outside my bedroom window is now police-car-free, so...
Goodnight.
-
So, here's the post that I was going to post at the end of the day yesterday (actually, just a few minutes ago)...
-
Earlier today Yesterday afternoon, I bought some blank mini-DVDs for no other reason than they were on sale. They're mainly for DVD camcorders and hold about 20 minutes on XP or 60 minutes on LP. I have a mini-laserdisc called "The Manhattan Transfer - The Singles I." It's essentially four songs taken from their live from Japan in 1986 concert. It's about 18 minutes total. I didn't know if the mini-DVD would work with my DVD burner but it did! I don't really have anything else to record onto these mini-DVDs, but if I do, I'll be ready. ;)
-
And now, back to "Battlestar Galactica."
-
Kusos to the Musical Director who left bk speechless - no mean feat!
der Brucer
-
I doubt I will be using this musical director again - terrific pianist, but too scatterbrained - not the first time something like this has happened.
-
Now we all know bk scorns "fads" - like Tapas; so what's with all this buying of "waters"! What happened to an old fashioned pitcher of ice water and some tumblers (glassware, not acrobats)?

DR MBarnum - glad you are having such a great time. Can't wait to see some of your photos! :)

Speaking of tumblers...
Anyone else looking forward to seeing the gymnastics from the Summer Olympics? ;)
-
Off to walk the dog [back from the groomer's yesterday and looking fabulous!] and get ready for church. Big extravaganza this morning.
-
Oh - I had never heard of Matt Battaglia before yesterday's posts. He's got some pretty provocative pictures out on the internet! :o
-
[back from the groomer's yesterday and looking fabulous!]
I'm sure you do, but how about Zach?
der Brucer

Was sorry to see Big Brown miss his Triple Crown bid yesterday.

Just printed out a list from the Inter Wide Web of Hitchcock's cameo appearances, for reference.

I don't know about this Duo-Vision posts
Duo-Vision thing. It seems hurt my brain! Of
it can cause confusion in course, that supposes
the feeble-minded such as that I had one to begin
myself. :-\ with! :P
-
Good morning, all! I am off to Toyland with a lot of work. I expect to be E&T most o the day.
STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL was truly bizarre' I liked episodes 1-3 much more than 4-6.
That is all.
-
Sunday morning greetings! Richard and I are off to church in Cincinnati, followed, I hope, by lunch with Rob and Mary Linda.
-
Health vibes for DR jhvw!
-
I would like to see Strange Interlude in Duo-Vision.
-
The curtain speech could relate to All My Sons' title being the precursor to All My Children.
-
That's probably not true, but it sounds plausible.
-
So in Jrand's honor
-
And one for Miller
-
Health vibes to DR jhvw ~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
BK I guess the way to make sure the musical director does not forget the music is to bring your own copy!
-
Tonight on tv for me:
I will sample the Regis Million Dollar Password again (hope it's better this week).
MAD MEN starts here (last season).
-
Thank you DR FJL.....we have already had people at the box office buying tickets for All My Songs and My Three Sons.
-
No water around this morning, it is already a warm 76 degrees. The air is on. I have used the last bag of mulch to fill in the Pet Sematery and the flower bed, and now I will enjoy my Sunday.
-
Here's hoping the final BRAINEX performance is smashing.
I am shocked, SHOCKED that the MD forgot the music AND that the drummer didn't bring his full kit. It really sounds like amateurs ville for sure.
-
Hmmmmm.....topic of the day we haven't done for awhile:
Favorite movie poster - including tagline, font, and art work....the one that made you WANT TO SEE that movie!
-
I guess this is the first one I really noticed in the newspaper:
(http://www.theatreorgans.com/mi/redford/movie/pictures/TheLongLongTrailer.gif)
-
I remember going to the Jerry Lewis Cinema to see WICKED WICKED because the previews promised a revolutionary NEW process....that couldn't be shown during the preview......
Still not quite sure what it was.....two 35mm images printed on one BIG frame.....it wasn't very successful anyway.
Maybe if they had done THE ROBE in DuoVision, it might have caught on.
-
They used that same image for Lucy in THE THING WITH FOUR ARMS
-
Also when she appeared in MAIMED
-
If the Trailer was so long it needed two Longs, I hate to think how long the whole movie was.
-
Wasn't The Thing With Four Arms originally titled Ethel and Her Trained Hands?
Ethel Mae Potter We Never Forgot Her!
-
Time to make the donuts.

Yesterday, Der Brucer said
I guess there are times that smoking around kids may be forgiven;

...Hitchcock's cameo appearances...
How were they mounted - rings, necklace, brooch?

-
Don't know much this morning. Think I'll get the paper and make some breakfast. I need to run a few errands before getting back to work. I'm thinking about seeing if I can find some rhubarb to plant. It grows so well here and I forget how much I really like it until I make it.
-
Oh - I had never heard of Matt Battaglia before yesterday's posts. He's got some pretty provocative pictures out on the internet! :o
I know you haven't been here as long as some of us, but DR MBarnum and I have been speaking lustily of him for many years (and several times since you've been here). Every time he guest stars in a show or is in a TV commercial, I mention him.
You must have simply skipped over my posts about him.

Tonight is both Next Food Network Star and the first episode of Design Star.
-
Good morning!
It's supposed to get to 98 today. Got to 97 yesterday. IT'S HOT. Enough said. (No relief until midweek at least).
-
On tap on TV for me tonight:
new episodes of LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT on USA
IN PLAIN SIGHT (which I'll give another chance to tonight).
-
If the Trailer was so long it needed two Longs, I hate to think how long the whole movie was.

I had every intention of beginning JERICHO tonight, but seeing ads in the newspaper for BET's AMERICAN GANGSTER caused me to look at its release date and see that it's this Tuesday, not next Tuesday, so I'll have to begin it today.
It's a ten episode series on famous African-American gangsters. Scanning over the list of subjects on the back, I really am not familiar with any of them, so this should be a most instructive afternoon.
-
Of course, I'll be watching another NCIS episode while I cook at eat lunch today. I only have three left in the first season set.

It's not ME - singers today love to have their little bottled waters - as does everyone else.

Good morning. It is my last day in Olive Branch, MI. Had breakfast with Laurie and Eileen. We said our goodbyes to Beverly, Gigi, Janine, and Jeffrey and we all exchanged e-mails and phone numbers. I am happy to be returning home, but sad to leave all of these wonderful people, although I will likely be interviewing a few of them in the near future.
-
I don't think bottled water is so much a fad as just a simple convenience...it is so much easier to carry a bottle of water around then to run over to the water fountain. And drinking plenty of water is healthy and good for you.
-
Jennifer - I didn't have a copy of the music, and even if I did, it would only have been the piano part, not the charts for the band. It's actually incomprehensible and he knew it. He knew he had to teach right up until the sound check. He knew he had the gig. How do you leave the music at home (not to mention all the chords for his keyboard, which we were using for keyboard two)?
-
Oh, and I'm up.
-
Well, I must now be off to the Memphis airport. I wonder if Ty Herndon ever flys out of there?

In other news...
I now have my coffee, my breakfast (an egg, bacon and cheddar wrap), and a copy of the Sunday Times. Works for me.
*I was actually thinking of heading to the Park and/or midtown this afternoon, but then I turned on NY1 and was reminded that today is the Puerto Rican Day Parade... And when I stepped out a few minutes ago to get my coffee, breakfast and paper, there were already lots of families heading to the subway with their flags in hand. Sounds like a good day to stay inside - in the A/C - today.

Oh, and I dislike the new Annie recording intensely. More thoughts, perhaps, after I've had a chance to finish the whole thing.
I've given the new recording a few casual listens myself, and I'm not sure I like it or not. -And it's been interesting reading some of the online reactions and reviews too. It sounds OK, but... Well.. I've never been such a big fan of the show as it is so... :-\
The voices, in general, sound a bit too closely mic'd, and I would have also preferred a little bit more "bloom" around the vocals. They also seemed to be EQ'd toward the high end. -The girl playing Annie is, unfortunately, a sort of casualty of the EQ since so much of the orphan's writing, in general, is on the high side of things. (I always get shocked when I see the original key for "It's A Hard Knock Life"!) The orchestra sounds good, but the over-abundance of strings - and the extra brass - tend to add bit too much at times - the big endings are REALLY BIG! Annie just doesn't work well with the "symphonic" treatment. -At least a symphonic treatment of the original orchestrations.
And then there's the second disc of Annie 2 material... Complete with narration and "interruptions" by Carol Burnett and Martin Charnin... ??? And the cover art for Annie 2 - a battered and bruised and bandaged Little Orphan Annie - is also a bit funny and sort of disturbing too.
-
Getting ready to highlight...
I thought Teddy did that for you.

Hello, everyone.
Nothing new here. Marvelous Matt is here, attempting to repair my walls and celings. The walls haven't fully dried out after all the rain, so that's slowing us down. I hit the garden early this morning, pruning the trees that my Neighbor Who Does Nothing doesn't maintain. I've learned that it's simply easier to maintain his property myself than to try to get him to do anything. He won't complain; he won't even notice.
-
Perhaps they could have done THE ROBE and DEMETRIUS AND THE GLADIATIORS at the same time. It would have saved me a quarter.
A quarter? Wow! You must have gotten a lot of time in those viewing booths back then!
;D
-
There is a real art to recording vocals after the band has been recorded, and then mixing them to sound as if it's all of a piece and had been recorded at the same time - an art that that particular producer, whatever one thinks of him, has never learned, at least based on the recordings of Sherry and Breakfast at Tiffany's. And he takes months and months to mix.
-
(I always get shocked when I see the original key for "It's A Hard Knock Life"!)
Anything a good hit of helium wouldn't cure?

We could give it to Jason Castro!

It's even a bit too high for Jason Castro, I think.
I remember helping out with some auditions for Annie a few years ago... It was then that I realized that the only way for the orphans to sing "It's A Hard Knock Life" was to constantly belt/yell it out since it's written in a high(!) belt range. It does work for the song, but after listening to about 300 girls try to squeak out those notes, well... OUCH!

It got me into the theater.

In this world with MRSA, it is safer to drink out of bottles of water.
-
So...
I actually do miss that "sound" of the classic cast albums - a.k.a. pre-digital, pre-ProTools. I know there is something to be said - and admired - about a very "clean" recording, but sometimes things sound a bit too clean to me lately. That's what immediately turned me off about the OCR of the revival of A Chorus Line - along with the fact that they used a digital piano. I LOVE the the "dirt" and "muddle" of the original OCR.
On the other hand, I really do love the sound of the In the Heights OCR. The modern/pop/rap/Latin score and arrangements really do pop on the recording, and it was also nice to hear some very slight "issues" in some of the choral sections. "Clean" does not always mean "exciting".

Yes, it is indeed as hot as they said it would be. Just walking onto my enclosed back porch (where the washer and dryer are) is energy-sapping.
-
I watched another NCIS episode while I cooked and ate lunch. Combat weapons are finding their way into the hands of mercenaries, and the death of one of the people selling them leads NCIS to find out why. Good episode and a real surprise ending. I was fooled.
-
Next, I watched four episodes of AMERICAN GANGSTER. This BET series is like NOTORIOUS on the Biography Channel only these deal specifically with infamous black lawbreakers.
The first had to do with the Philly Black Mafia (as they were called) operating out of an Islamic church! Over decades of direct power over crime in Philly, and even now, people are scared senseless to testify against any of them.

-
Next came a show about Larry Hoover who ran the infamous Chicago gang, the Gangster Disciples. Scary the power he was able to control even from prison.
-
Melvin Williams controlled gambling and later the heroin trade in Baltimore. Blessed with a 160 I.Q., he made millions upon millions from grug and gambling operations.
-
The last episode I watched this afternoon was the only one I really knew anything about, the D.C. Snipers Muhammad and Malvo. Another scary story of their three week reign of terror.
-
There is an extended interview with Melvin Williams as the bonus feature on the first disc in the set. Once I finish with it, I'll be ready to start watching the episodes on disc two.
There are three discs in all.

From Tacoma!

From Tacoma!
Yes, that was brought out during the show.
-
I'm going to write a little bit and then head back down to clean my bathroom, put away the folded laundry, and then get back to AMERICAN GANGSTERS.
WBBL.
-
Well...
It still looks and feels like it's going to storm, but, so far, it hasn't. Of course, what that means is that the humidity is very high outside right now. :-\
-
Oh.... Thunder....
-
And here comes the rain...
-
And here comes the rain...
And unfortunately, the rain will probably not cool things off.
-
I saw SAVED this afternoon, which includes a marvelous featured performance by BK friend Julianna Hansen, among so many fine performances.

Forgive me, but what is SAVED?
-
Welcome JulieC40, how was the coast?
-
Forgive me, but what is SAVED?
I know it is being done at Playwrights Horizon, but I don't know anything about it.
-
SAVED is a musical based on the film SAVED! of a few years ago. (That's not a typo, the musical doesn't use the exclamation point in its advertising.)

The Mandy Moore movie?
I guess that must be the one, since it is the only movie SAVED! that I found when I googled.
-
Yes, that's the one!!!
-
Yes, that's the one!!!
Okay. Has there ever been a musical version of DAVID & LISA?
-
TCB, The coast was wonderful! Thank you for asking. I'm just responding now as I've been catching up on posts for the last 2 days. Sorry about that. Friday was really rainy and windy but yesterday it cleared up about mid morning and was beautiful and clear blue sky today...around 63 possibly, beautiful. My tradition when leaving the coast is to stop and get a scoop of Tillamook ice cream...the best in the world in my opinion. Had Oregon Black Cherry...yummy! Now I'm calling a blitz on my food intake until I leave for NY end of July. No "real" ice cream until after I get back and a lot more exercise. I know I'll be doing a lot of walking and this curvy girls needs to lose some extra curves! *lol*
I loved the post of "How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?" This is a very good question and one that I think should definitely be addressed!
Hey, DR BK! I saw your post about the theme from The Americanization of Emily. It's been a long time since I've seen the movie but I'm sitting here currently listening to the soundtrack for it. You are right...it is gorgeous!
-
Cilla, Are you one of the people who experienced a lot of flooding?
-
Okay, I have to tell about one of my brushes with fame. I have SO many, you know! :) Quite a few years ago, "Hello, Dolly!" came through Portland, Oregon, and I went with my sister and friend, Dennis (who truly loves Carol Channing). Well, of course, Carol Channing was in it and we got front row seats. At the end, Carol came out and spoke a few minutes and introduced a young man that I realized I had grown up with that was in her chorus.
I was able to get back to the stage door and ask for him and in the process he asked if we wanted to meet Carol. Uh, duh! Of course. She came out and was so gracious and hugged all of us. I know a lot of people make some crude remarks about her at times but she was so wonderful. I was very impressed with her kindness and will never forget this. I just had to share. I hope you all don't mind. :)
-
FJL, You still here? I have seen SAVED as well and it was really amazing! I agree.
-
Good Evening!
Hmm... That was a good nap. ;)
*And it seems that the rest of apartment is napping now too.

Back from a mostly fun closing performance. Great audience (full), lots o' big laughs, and a standing ovation. All that said, there are at least two actors in this company that I would never ever work with again - one of them just couldn't ever get it together, and the other, who gave a terrific performance up through the second performance and then began changing everything and having it progressively become more cartoonish and therefore less funny, and, when given explicit notes not to do it, he kind of went back to the better performance for a couple of shows, but last week it was back to cartoon land and today was just painful to watch, at least for me. This is a person who does not trust the material in any way, shape, or form, even though it served beautifully and the person's reviews were great. Again, I think it's part of this theater's vibe that actors just do this. Not in my shows they don't, not if they ever want to work with me again. Also, if an actor was doing this in a Broadway show or even an Equity show, he'd shape up or be fired, it's that simple.
-
JulieC40 - Did you see the movie or the off-Bway show? Or both?
-
But overall, the company did very well - the Zubrick got better and better as the run progressed, finding lots of new stuff and new laughs but never changing the intention and the POINT of the way he'd been directed. Same with the Yoni - fresh and funny but doing what we set and then occasionally finding clever ways to elaborate but NEVER EVER losing character. The Narrator/Professor Leder was terrific, Joyce was excellent, and the biggest growth of a performer was the gal playing Donna - I had to ride her pretty hard about energy levels and all, but by the second week she just kept getting better and better, and her performance today was a knockout.
-
We are back from the movie, which I loved and Richard didn't mind at all - he even stayed awake for the whole thing! DR Elmore, he didn't need a hankie, but I sure did!
After the movie, we went grocery shopping and then came home and watched Password, which we're also enjoying quite a bit.
-
I went to see the SEX & THE CITY movie today -yeah!
But i also got some upsetting personal news. :(
I just really need to hold it together.
-
Jennifer - I didn't have a copy of the music, and even if I did, it would only have been the piano part, not the charts for the band. It's actually incomprehensible and he knew it. He knew he had to teach right up until the sound check. He knew he had the gig. How do you leave the music at home (not to mention all the chords for his keyboard, which we were using for keyboard two)?
Oh don't get me wrong. I get that what he did is not right. I just like the motto that the only person you can count on is yourself. So if you have what you need you don't have to worry if everyone else is a screw-up!
-
Congrats BK on the closing!

Jennifer, I am sorry about your upsetting news. :-\

(((((Jennifer)))))
-
I finshed watching the extended interviews on the first disc of AMERICAN GANGSTERS. These interviews lasted a lot longer than I was ecpecting. Over thirty minutes for each of three bonus interviews from discs one and two.
-
Strength and comfort vibes, as needed, to Jennifer
-
As for the three new episodes I watched this evening, the first had to do with Frank Lucas whose criminal empire was recently represented in the Denzel Washington movie AMERICAN GANGSTER.
-
Next came Felix Mitchell who became Oakland's first major heroin mobster. I knew nothing about him until I watched this documentary.
-
And this was followed by Jeff Fort and his Blackstone Rangers in Chicago. Amazing how these folks had so much charisma and inspired so many followers. If only they had put that kind of leadership to good aims instead of bad. [sigh]
-
I have three more episodes of the series (they last about 40 minutes each) and one more in depth-interview before I'm finished with the set.
-
I did see the last ten minutes or so of PASSWORD. Tony Hawk seemed to be a pretty good player, but they seem to give up on giving clues more quickly than I would.
-
LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT had a very absorbing episode with Goren undercover and an ominous ending that promises problems ahead. Oh, dear.
-
IN PLAIN SIGHT. I just find the mother-sister character storyline an irritating intrusion into the show.
The main plot was interesting enough to hold my attention, but the show really doesn't have the slick cool of BURN NOTICE nor the humor nor well thought out puzzles of THE CLOSER.
I'm going to watch one more episode and then I'll likely be done with it.
-
FJL, I actually saw the movie...wasn't fortunate enough to see the show. I bet it was really good though.
-
DR Jennifer, ***sending positive vibes your direction*** Am so sorry to hear you've had a hard day...you will be in my thoughts tonight.
-

In the last round they are limited to 3 clues. Not sure if there is a limit in the early rounds

VIBES OF WHATEVER SORT ARE NEEDED TO DR JENNIFER ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
I enjoyed both Next Food Network Star and Design Star. Some interesting personalities on Design Star (as expected).
-
I got a little work done tonight. I also dyed my hair again. I went for a lighter shade of blonde since my avatar shows what medium blonde looks like. Well, this is a little lighter but still has a lot of red in it. I like it, but it sure isn't blonde.
-
I have had a headache all day. I think it's just hormones, but it's still a pain in the neck...er head...er both
-
DR Cilla, I know what it is likes with those all day headaches...gotta love the hormones, right? I hope you are feeling better, hon...***positive vibes to you too*** I think you're hair looks fantastic in the pic but I can kind of picture you with it a little lighter. I bet it looks fab! I'll have to get my pic on here in the next couple of days. Sis has gotta help me with that part.

FOOD NETWORK STAR ELIMINATION THOUGHT
No real spoilers here, but just in case, i left some space :) - I must say the little bit of drama on Food Network Star was most entertaining and exciting. Not happy with how it was dealt with in the final cut, though.
-

I know that. They aren't limited in the early rounds but seem to give up on words more quickly than I would expect.
-
I'm going to write for a bit and then head down to bed.
Good night!
-
DR Matt, I haven't been very friendly, I guess, but wanted to say hi. I've really enjoyed everyone's input here. Everyone is so nice.
-
Hello, DR Julie. Glad to have you with us. I'm happy you're enjoying the forum. It is one big family and many of us feel kind of "off" if we don't at least check in here every day.
-
And now I'm REALLY going!
;D

SAVED is a musical based on the film SAVED! of a few years ago. (That's not a typo, the musical doesn't use the exclamation point in its advertising.)
It is NOT based on the TNT series about ambulance drivers.
Although that could make for an interesting musical, a la COP ROCK.
-
Jennifer---BIG HUGS! I hope whatever is troubling improves.
-
I took my godson and his family to see a great show at the Puppetry Arts Center today. It was written and directed by Jon Ludwig, a local guy who puts on amazing shows, often very dark. It was based on the CINDERELLA story, but also included Jules Verne, P.T. Barnum, a unizebra (half unicorn, half zebra) a character who could stretch to the moon, a mermaid, a trapeze artist fish, a stuttering elephant, a bear riding a unicycle, and a posse of very vain princes. Cinderella fell in love with Prince Charming's cousin, Pierrot, who was sort of the court jester. It was performed by 4 puppeteers operating marionettes and shadow puppets, and it was delightful. Even Quinn's 2 year old sister was entralled!
-
Afterwards, the puppeteers explained how everything in the show worked and how they operated everything. Then we participated in a puppet-making workshop, where the kids put together elephant shadow puppets and used materials to personalize them. Quinn is very creative and didn't want to make the elephant, so he made his own ladybug puppet with moving mouth and wings.
Then we all went out to dinner---a fun day.

Which part weren't you happy with? What was said or who was eliminated. I thought the person eliminated needed to go. The one causing the drama won't last, imho
-
I know that. They aren't limited in the early rounds but seem to give up on words more quickly than I would expect.
Got ya. On the other hand if your mind is blank on a word, better to pass and get to something you may have a better chance on
-
Well, I'm off to bed. Night, everyone...sweet dreams!
-
Sounds like fun Edi

After the family stopped by our house to pick up various goodies, we realized that we had time to go to a late movie. We had about a half hour to kill so we turned on the TV and caught part of THE FACULTY, which was airing on the Encores channel. We didn't know what was going on but got sucked in pretty quickly, and we got to see Jon Stewart's final scene and a few more after that.
Then we went to see SURFWISE, a documentary about a disfunctional family of Jewish surfers. It originally showed at our Jewish Film Festival but I missed it then. I'm glad it's getting a theatrical release; it was really interesting and the music score, editing and camera work was excellent.
(The location sound was not, but, oh well...)

I decided to make my plane reservations tonight for the trip to DC even though they say I'm not officially in until my payment has been approved (no reason it shouldn't be) and I knew this was the last day on a really good sale on Midwest Airlines direct flight from Omaha. So, I tried and tried and tried but couldn't get on the Midwest site. I got the ticket through Orbitz, but had to pay the fee. Anyway, I think they shut down because the sale ends at midniight. I'm really curious to see what the same flight will cost tomorrow. I bet it will be A LOT higher as this sale was going before the last several jumps in oil prices

Looking forward to seeing Cillaliz in an updated avatar with current hair color.
(Not "currant" haircolor!)
-
My next decision is whether to stay at the Doubletree or the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda. They are the two pick up places for our free taxi service to the 4-H national conference center where we will be having our classes.
I'm also thinking that I will pack as light as humanly possible and take the metro from DCA to the hotel. Looks like the Hyatt is right on the metro. Not so sure about the Doubletree
Any thoughts from those who know DC?

It's not much different that the avatar. I tried to make it much different, but for some reason, I just can't make it happen.
-
Finished watching a motion picture and shall now just try to relax until it's notes time.
-
JulieC - thanks for asking about the flooding...it isn't where I am, but there is pretty serious flooding not too far from here.
-
Good night...time for me to get some sleep
-
Being very lazy. Nice.

Nice. Being very lazy.

Welcome nine GUESTS.

Are we really doing a reading of Nudie Musical tomorrow night. I'm a wee bit nervous about the people doing songs who haven't run them with me, but we'll make it through and I'll be prepared to jump in if need be. I think Sharon McNight is coming a half hour early to run hers. Alet won't be able to get there early, and I haven't heard from Beth Malone whether she'll be able to, although she's at least had a tape to work with for over a week.
-
I have returned from Memphis, by way of Texas.
I will now go and climb into bed with Bosco and Freddy.

DR Cillaliz - Yep, the Hyatt Regency sits right on top of the Bethesda Station (Red Line). The Doubletree is a few blocks away from the Bethesda Medical Center stop (also on the Red Line - it's the next stop after Bethesda), and I believe they offer a free shuttle too. In either case, you'll have to take Blue Line train from DCA heading towards Franconia-Springfield, then transfer at Metro Center to a Red Line train going toward Shady Grove.

~~~~~VIBES TO DR JENNIFER~~~~~
-
Getting very tired. And a very long day ahead of me tomorrow.
-
Guess I'll write Ye Olde Notes in about fifteen minutes, then get to bed.
-
And I shall read Ye Olde Notes in the morning.
Goodnight.
Earlier today Yesterday afternoon, I bought some blank mini-DVDs for no other reason than they were on sale. They're mainly for DVD camcorders and hold about 20 minutes on XP or 60 minutes on LP. I have a mini-laserdisc called "The Manhattan Transfer - The Singles I." It's essentially four songs taken from their live from Japan in 1986 concert. It's about 18 minutes total. I didn't know if the mini-DVD would work with my DVD burner but it did! I don't really have anything else to record onto these mini-DVDs, but if I do, I'll be ready. ;)
George, be very careful today! I read that several dealerships have Cadillac Esplanades on sale this week. DON'T buy one, just because it is on sale.
Thanks for the tip! However, I don't think that I'll be getting any Cadillac Esplanades anytime soon...they're just a little out of my price range. ;)
-
I did, however, buy a new light fixture for my extra bedroom. I had a light fixture with a fan in there, but the pull-chain to turn the fan off and on was missing, so the fan always turned on when the light was also (they must've had a thing for each other ;)). Anyway, I took down the fan/light fixture and put up a brushed aluminum light (only...no fan) fixture. However, with the color of the walls (chocolate brown) and the black shelves that I had in there, it was completely wrong for the room, so I took it all down, repacked it carefully and took it back. I then bought another fixture that was more appropriate for the color scheme. It's soooo much nicer! I'm very happy with it. And I'm so glad I finally got rid of that fan.
-
But think of all the CDs he could buy with the money he saved!
der Brucer
That's a much better idea!! :D
-
With George's IKEA sensibilities and trusty tool box, I suspect he'd buy an Esplanade kit!
If someone else wants to buy it, I'll put it together.
;)
