The Wreck of the Mary, Dear
(Kenneth B. Cassell)
There once was a person named Mary
A lovely young girl from the dairy.
A mind without fear
A face fresh and clear
With bright cheeks just as red as a berry.
She went to the high school quite local
And went with an oaf, yes a yokel
Her values declined
With her sharpness of mind
As his walk and his talk became focal.
The oaf was a foul mouth-ed brute
Profane words from his brain he would shoot
Mary copied his cant
And when Mary would rant
The foul words came right out with a toot.
Now as Mary continued her tryst
Her friends did withdraw in the mist
For a mind that was clean
Had lost its bright sheen
With curses each sentence she hissed.
When Mary's poor parents tried to talk
Out of the room Mary did walk
With her words mixed with color
Her replies became duller
And were like the stench of a gym sock.
Her parents with might they did pray.
So touched, Mary saw through the decay
What have I become?
I talk like some scum.
And her life turned around on that day.
The oaf found another to taint
Mary heeded parental complaint
She read scriptures at night
Regained spiritual sight
And became a good Latter Day Saint.

This morning I went for a walk. I twisted my ankle and fell most ungracefully onto the trail. While sitting there contemplating just how I was going to get home, this nighthawk flew overhead:

For those of you who love the Tonys like I do, there's a 3-disc DVD set out there called BROADWAY'S LOST TREASURES.
It contains musical numbers from old Tony shows, including many rare performances by the original stars of classic musicals (e.g. Alfred Drake from KISS ME KATE, Robert Preston from THE MUSIC MAN, Ethel Merman from GIRL CRAZY, Yul Brynner from THE KING AND I, Paul Lynde from BYE BYE BIRDIE, etc.)
Some great stuff.
-
Not bad, considering it was still fairly dark outside. Which is why the nighthawk was still flying.

I got up and walked. My son picked me up at the parking lot. But I had to walk about a quarter mile. Downhill. Which is better than uphill.

Yep, great stuff to be sure, but some great stuff still missing. (A CHORUS LINE, DREAMGIRLS, I DO! I DO!) I wish we'd get a fourth edition, but it doesn't appear to be on the horizon.

Another hot, humid day today, but things do seem to be improving. We're going to have lows in the upper 50s for the next few nights and highs in the 80s: much more tolerable.

Today I'll be finishing the audio commentary on BEFORE THE RAIN. I'll have THE FURIES in today's mail, I suspect, but I likely won't start on it until tomorrow.

Tonight, THE MOLE. I must start looking again at the remaining contestants to see who I think the Mole is. My original choice was eliminated last week.
-
I'm just catching up on the last few pages from last night.
I'm commenting on something BK said re: patti's accpetance speech.
I actually did not mind that they played the music. As long as they do it softly so the person can still speak. I hate it when they cut the mike or anything like that.
The thing is the show had to be over by 11pm. And as it is they went over by 2 minutes. And the winner for BEst Musical did not get to say anything (which always makes me livid).
I loved love patti's speech (love her). And was so happy she won!
-
I enjoyed The Tonys last night. True, I didn't much care for PASSING STRANGE. I liked CRY BABY more than I thought and IN THE HEIGHTS' number grew on me. I was DELIGHTED they let Cheyenne Jackson be front and center by choosing that number from XANADU. He saved their asses coming in two days before the show opened to take over the leading role, and if I were in NYC, HE'D be the reason I'd want to see the show.
I wasn't blown away by GYPSY as others were, but I did love the SOUTH PACIFIC medley. No wonder it's such a hot ticket in NYC. GREASE was every bit as bad as I expected it to be. I would loved to have seen SUNDAY IN THE PARK done in this new way.
Whoopi made a very fun host. Game and ready for anything, I'm glad the Tonys chose her to host since there have been no hosts for the last couple of years. They could alternate Whoopi and Nathan Lane and Hugh Jackman and I'd never complain.
-
Tonight, THE MOLE. I must start looking again at the remaining contestants to see who I think the Mole is. My original choice was eliminated last week.
Tonight on tv for me is this and Canadian idol (toronto week which is the same as hollywood week, which is my favorite part of the show).
re: THE MOLE
I'm just watching everyone. But i have no idea who it could be (the mole). I'm not really gonna consider that guy who is always out of breath (that seems far too obvious). I'm just gonna look for people who don't go out of their way to gain lots of money for hte group. But who aren't really too obvious in terms of screwing up (those people to me are just pretending).

Good morning, all!

I slept late until my sister-in-law Jo called and made me leave my bed. Since then, I've been catching up, and doing the laundry.
I have a Table of Contents to type up for The Brain Vocal Book, a bit of Victor Herbert writing to accomplish, and som tidying and vacuuming about the apartment. Those bugs are not gaining an inch in this space.
Mike Delfino is also the name of a porn actor from the 1970s. I wonder how the creator of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES knew that? :D
DR Ginny, tell Richard that a high school production of GYPSY bears as much resemblance to a great show as I do to haute couture.

Wow! Found a $159 weekend rate at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, which seems to be only 3.5 miles from the Signature Theatre (where THE VISIT is playing).
Looks like the same type of room would be $359 on a weeknight.
Can anyone see a down side to taking a low rate at a Ritz Carlton?

I was delighted to see my old pal and colleague, Deanna Dunagan, take home a Tony last night. I did Shakespeare years ago with Deanna in the wilds of Odessa, Texas...and later dinner theatre, touring out of Dallas. She was brilliant as Lizzie in a production of THE RAINMAKER I did with her and Larry Drake (Drake played Jimmy; I played Noah). And she is probably the best actress I've ever worked with. Her speech was terrific!

Wow - DR CP played the brother of a Tony Winner....and yes her speech was wonderful.....
DR FJL the only downside I see is that it might spoil you when you have to stay at the Marriott Courtyard next time.
-
Oh and thanks to DR JOSE for taking us into Cheyenne's dressing room.
-
I was amazed to see that I had seen 3 of the four nominated plays...The one that one AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY was the only one I didn't see...I'm glad it won for Deanna and because I really liked Tracy Letts' acceptance speech. But THE SEAFARER; ROCK 'N' ROLL; and THE 39 STEPS were all fabulous plays and all deserving of the Tony.

JRand, I played Malcolm in the Scottish Play where Deanna was Lady M. This was the year THE EXORCIST came out and so our director decided to interpolate an Exorcism scene with the Witches and the lady. MacDuff and I had to stand behind blacks in either side of the tiring house and levitate Lady MacBeth every night. The levitation device was a flat board supported by heavy iron pole sdraped in black and it was a bitch to lift. I much preferred working with her in THE RAINMAKER...no heavy lifting.

OH! That's a great location too! You're basically right in the Pentagon City Mall - which is right next to Pentagon Row and across the street from CostCo/Border's/CPK/etc. -In other words, lots of good dining choices within walking distance. *Just remember that if you want to walk over to Pentagon Row, you have to walk down to and through the Food Court at Pentagon City. There is no pass through on the Ground Level of the parking lot - as I find out from time to time. ;)
Now, as for that $7.00 cab ride? Hmm... I guess it could be if there's no traffic. It's one exit away down/up I-395, so it shouldn't be a major cab fare even in traffic. *And that's a pretty active taxi stand there since it covers the hotel, the mall and the metro (which is right there too).

Happy Monday - the day after the Tony Awards. We had our 4th Annual Tony Party last night and it was a big success. We played some games, everyone brought "themed" food and we watched the show. Good times. If I can pull it together, I'll post what the food items were sometime today or tomorrow.
Does anyone know why Cry Baby doesn't have a recording or one that is scheduled in the future?

It's a kind of Six Degrees of Separation Day here at HHW. Not only did Pogue work with Deanna Dunagan, I worked with Tony Winner Miss Rondi Reed in Saint Paul in 1979 in a production of You Can't Take it With You. We did a slight bit of casting wizardry and made Rheba and Donald (the black servants) Eastern European and Irish white people. The production was directed by Charles Nolte who played Billy Budd on Broadway in 1951.

NEW ARRIVALS!
About a week ago, der B forwarded an email to me that he'd received from Jessica's Biscuit. (He gets the emails, because he does all the ordering. Otherwise, none of my earnings would go to anything else, like paying for food, or the rent. ::))
This particular email was about a clearance they were holding on a few books they'd overstocked, bringing their discount up to 50%. It was a short-term sale, just for a few days. So of course I went over their short-term sale short list, and found three books that I would indeed enjoy having in my collection. Plus one freebie.
Our postman (who looks very nice in shorts) just made the delivery. Yum!
No food porn this time. (Food porn is photography of food, specially lit and framed to make the food look particularly lucious. It usually fills very glossy magazines and high-priced books. It does not fit in a VCR. Sorry, Larry.) Of the last order that came in, James McNair's Build a Better Burger had some good low-end food porn, with fun pictures of meat and buns and sauce. Susanna Foo's Fresh Inspiration: New Approaches to Chinese Cuisine is loaded with food porn. I was keeping it next to my register when I was cashiering this weekend. It's facinating how many women love to look at food porn, how their breathing quickens and they suddenly close the book, almost embarrassed (but not quite). Jeffery Steingarten's It Must Have Been Something I Ate, in spite of it's imagination-provoking title, contains nothing but prose. On second thought, this is probably a good thing, and if you have ever seen Steingarten on Iron Chef America you will understand why.
So, what did arrive?
Roast Chicken and Other Stories, by Simon Hopkinson. Apparently he's a big seller in England. Here in America, we're still doubtful about English food.
The Lost Ravioli Recipes of Hoboken: A Search for Food and Family, by Laura Schenone. Apparently, we also have our doubts about food from New Jersey.
The Oldways Table: Essays & Recipes From the Culinary Think Tank, by K. Dun Gifford & Sara Baer-Sinnott. A quick glance tells me this probably would have sold better if it had had photography instead of wood-cut style drawing.
And, the freebie, The Bar: A Spirited Guide to Cocktail Alchemy, by Oliver Said & James Mellgren. There's some b&w photography, but glassware doesn't really make for good food porn.
I've enough reading now to last me through the summer, I think.
Unless Jessica's Biscuit absolutely insists on sending der B another email. ;)

Well, I'm finding that I'm getting old. I just can't stay up late like I used to. :-\ Without suffering severe consequences. :P
I think it was either last Friday's 20/20 or Dateline NBC that had a piece on the dangers of not getting enough sleep. I have it on my DVR, but I haven't had taken the time to watch it yet. I know I don't get enough sleep, so maybe this'll be an incentive.

The premiere episode of the Canadian version of HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA (premiered last night). They are looking for a Maria for the SOUND OF MUSIC in toronto.
One thing which i did not know which made me very happy was that John Barrowman is the 3rd member of the judging panel. And he was on a lot, giving acting lessons.
And apparently we get to vote (did not really realize this). But should have.
They are going from 200 to 50 girls. 50 go to maria school. And then i think they go to 20. And then we get to vote starting next sunday from about 10.
-
Thank you, Singdaw. I'll be ok. Don't worry about me. I'll just sit here in the rain and eat wet pancakes with my whine.
~~~Vibes for Dry Pancakes!!~~~
Hi, everyone! I'm here for a few. I recorded the awards last night as I could NOT stay awake. Did hear who the award winners were though.
-
I'm enraged, shocked and thoroughly disgusted this morning:
Parents of a 13-year-old boy in a small town near Raleigh NC have been arrested for felony child abuse after tying their son to a tree overnight for two nights. He was discovered dead on the afternoon after the second night. He was "being punished".
A man in Turlock CA was found beating a 1-year-old child mercilessly on a quiet road -- slapping, punching, throwing to the ground and kicking the child. A couple driving along stopped and tried to get him to stop but he was intent on his mission. Police arrived, the man didn't respond, and he was shot to death by police. Identities have not been made of man or child.
This is a sick, sick, sick world.
-
But don't let me bring the party high down.
-
Maria School? Are they going to have Convent Cams?
:o :o :o
;D
LOL!
The sad thing about this concept is that any actor or actress worthy of being hired should not NEED a special school in which to immerse himself into a character.
I'm quite certain Mary Martin didn't go to one, and neiither did Julie Andrews. Any "nun" training would have been done via an advisor. I daresy they won't have nun advisors in this "Maria School".
-
I thoroughly enjoyed some of the production numbers last night, both from the nominated musicals and from past Tony winners. And that includes the "Whoopi" ones, too.
Special effects and makeup guru Stan Winston passed away on Sunday, June 15th in Los Angeles, California. Winston was best known for his work for the "Terminator," "Jurassic Park" and "Predator" series, and Edward Scissorhands. The 4-time Oscar winner most recently worked on Iron Man and was special effects supervisor on the upcoming Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
Amazing how much the kids over at the theatre chat boards get it wrong, whether willfully or not. The story that DR JoseSPiano related to us yesterday about Patti's morning rehearsal has now gotten twisted around: she was DEMANDING a live orchestra in RCMH's pit, JUST for her number, and being so unreasonable that "everyone back stage hated her." On secret but absolute authority. ::)
-
For DRs Jose and Matt H:
-
Kids, what the hell is wrong with these kids today?
Post Tony greetings to everyone. I was performing last night during the awards, so I haven't seen any of them yet but I know the winners. My roommate did not catch the first hour of the awards so if anyone has a recording they can pass along, I would be SOOOO appreciative.
-
We made it through the first weekend of Guys and Dolls. Our Saturday night opening was the first time we had a full run-through so it was a bit touch and go at times. But nobody died :) There are no crew members so the cast is entirely responsible for the set changes. It's a very minimal set, but we only had 2 days to rehearse on it before we opened. Our 2 Sunday performances were much smoother.
-
We have 3 more shows to go- Wednesday night and 2 more Sunday shows.
-
A friend of mine included me in an email that she sent to "the most tapped in NYC theatre buffs in my network," looking for recommendations for what to see when she's in the City next week. I was flattered to be in the "network," considering that the others are with a professional company in Dayton. I told her that tops on our list are South Pacific, In the Heights, and The 39 Steps, and that many of you had recommended August: Osage County (but there's no way I'm going to get Richard to see a dysfunctional family on stage). One of her contacts at the Human Race Theatre Company made almost the same recommendations.
This friend sings with the Dayton Opera chorus and they're going to perform at Carnegie Hall on June 29.
Hi TPunk! Glad Guys and Dolls went well.
Oh, so hot outside. As miserable as any day we've had this month in terms of heat and humidity.
Did anyone say Matt Damon or Mickey Dolenz (The Monkeys")?
Both already taken - long ago.
Ben, Whooaaa! Charles Nolte is a name I haven't heard in years...and the only thing I remember him from IS BILLY BUDD.
DR TPunk - might we see a photo of you in your costume? Sure wish I could see the show in person!
Hi TPunk! Glad Guys and Dolls went well.
Thanks Laura! Hope your ankle is okay.
I greatly enjoyed the audio commentary on BEFORE THE RAIN. Film professor Annette Insdorf was there to ask probing and incisive questions of the director, and it was just SO interesting. Of course, she's a HUGE enthusiast of the movie so it helps that she showers praise on him constantly as she questions and comments.
I was not as enthusiastic about the movie as she was, but I certainly think it's one of the best audio commentaries between two people I've ever listened to.
-
Ron, that's a shocker. I knew Stan Winston. I had lobbied for him to direct DRAGONHEART at one point and later we worked for a period of time on a project of his that never came to fruition. Nice man!
-
I recorded it and am sending copies to several people. PM me your address and I'll add you to the list!
Thank you George!!
I spent the remainder of the afternoon watching marvelous episodes of THE OFFICE from last season. I had forgotten how hilarious it was once the two branches merged and one by one, Michael inadvertantly drove the new folks away (except Andy, of course). I just watched the Christmas episode, and it was fall down funny and also poignant with Jim and Pam still so far away from each other at this point.
-
DR TPunk - might we see a photo of you in your costume? Sure wish I could see the show in person!
I don't have any pictures yet- I'll take some Wednesday night to post. The costumes are great, and I counted last night- 7 costume changes!!
I had not read that about Stan Winston either. Very sad news.
55 years ago today, my family moved from Portland, Oregon, to Detroit, Michigan. Not that I have any first-hand recollections, but I was definitely along for the ride.
-
Ratings for the Tonys matched last year's low totals. Last year the show faced the final episode of THE SOPRANOS.
This year there was a one-two sports punch with the U.S.Open golf tournament and the NBA Championship basketball series.
-
Guess I'll head down now and watch those USA shows I didn't get to see last night. Time permitting, I may squeeze in another OFFICE episode or two as well.
-
Spoo!
Here is the text of Mr. Sondheim's acceptance letter, as read by Mandy Patinkin last evening:
Thank you all, but this award has to be shared with Julius Epstein, Arthur Laurents, Burt Shevelove, Larry Gelbart, George Furth, Jim Goldman, John Weidman, Hugh Wheeler and James Lapine. These are the men who created the characters that sang the songs, the situations that gave rise to the songs and the criticism that improved the songs. They were my collaborators. They are called playwrights. They invent. They make whole cloth out of nothing. They make a hat where there never was a hat. And they don’t just write musicals.
Oh, and if you’re wondering why I’m not sharing this Award with Hal Prince, it’s because he already has one.
Lifetime Achievement has a deadly sound to it, a ring of finality, a faint whiff of "You’ve outlived your usefulness." And, as you get older, you start to believe that. At least some writers do, including me.
The problem is that the more venerable you get, the harder it becomes to avoid the fear of not living up to the expectations and praise that are bestowed on you -- as in the form of a Lifetime Achievement Award. Nevertheless, buoyed by your encouragement, with more Lifetime I -- we -- promise you more, if not higher, Achievement.
Thank you all again.
Dumb question time!
No, dumber than usual.............
Are Anthony Rapp and Michael Cerveris a couple? Is that why they were interviewed together on the red carpet?
Just watching the weather forecast on the evening news...
It basically looks like the whole Northeast section of the US is under some sort of storm watch/warning right now.
Be safe.
I was watching a clip on you tube from The View with Cheyenne Jackson and Kerry Butler doing Suddenly from XANADU!. In the clip Cheyenne is in a phone booth and he is wearing tennis shoes, and when the door of the phone booth opens he is suddenly wearing skates.
Does that happen that fast on stage?
-
Then on You Tube (again) I watched the interview that Cheyenne Jackson did with the Two Gay Guys from AfterElton.com. Now I had heard people mention the The Two Gay Guys video blog, but I had no idea that it was Brent Hartinger and Michael Jensen who live right here. Well, not right here in my living room, but just down the street a few miles. I never knew.
Yes, it does. Although, I don't recall is being that fast a shoe/skate change. *The miracle of elastic shoe laces.
OK, I'm gonna turn my computer into a DVD player to watch Episode 2 of John Adams.
Bye for now!
Yes, it does. Although, I don't recall is being that fast a shoe/skate change. *The miracle of elastic shoe laces.
I will have to watch the clip again. Kerry was skating around outside the phone booth, so I guess I wan't totally watching him (if that is possible), but it seemed pretty darn fast on TV.
Well, Cheyenne kicked his tennis shoes off while he was talking to Kerry, and then there was this balcony railing that covered up the lower half of his legs long enough for someone to put the skates on him.... Still, a pretty clever diversion.
Ginny, how is your foot doing without the pain pills?
So far, so good, DR Laura. I'm aware of some discomfort, but not excruciating pain. More like when your foot cramps.
-
Marc Dube - the co-writer of the CSI... episode that's on right now
-
Marcia (Milgrim) Dodge, fine director-choreographer
-
Trailblazing actor Matthew Morrison is on CSI Miami right now.
-
Composer Michael Dansicker
The best thing about being done with the every-6-hours meds is that I don't have to stay up 'til midnight and don't have to set the alarm for 6am. Who said convalescence is restful?
-
Ginny, I hope you sleep well tonight
-
OK, I'm gonna turn my computer into a DVD player to watch Episode 2 of John Adams.
We have episode 1 waiting to be watched.
HAPPY 80TH TO DR CILLA'S FATHER!
-
A blurb excerpt from today's NYMF e-newsletter:
Congratulations to The Brain From Planet X ('07)! The show recently opened in Los Angeles as part of the L.A. Festival of New Musicals, has been called "a delight from beginning to end, fast-moving and constantly fun," and has just been licensed by The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization!
NICE! :)
-
Happy 80th birthday to the DF of DR Cillaliz!
-
Healing vibes to DR's TPunk & Laura, & anyone I missed.
'night
-
Ginny, I hope you sleep well tonight
Thanks, Jane. It's going to be cool enough to open the windows and I don't have to set an alarm.
-
Trailblazing actor Matthew Morrison is on CSI Miami right now.
;D
We have episode 1 waiting to be watched.
Hope you enjoy the series. The next disc is on its way and I can hardly wait! I love the casting.
I'm going to bed now - because I can!
A couple of minutes ago, I opened the doors that lead to the back patio, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the temps had taken a nice dip. And there's also a nice breeze blowing right now too. Aahhhh.... :)
DR Jennifer - The winner of last night's Best Musical said all they had and wanted to say before getting cut off. -before putting Lin-Manuel on their shoulders!
Maybe some CBS stations were different. But i did not see the woman who accepted say more than a few lines. And i did not see the shoulder thing.
I set the digital recorder to record till 11pm (since i know they are never really allowed to go over). And then recorded the beginning of the next show when i saw it was likely to go over.
But we you do it this way (as opposed to adding extra minutes to the first program) there is a break of a second.
I just feel like this happens every year.
Mort Druckman - MAD artist.
Isn't that Mort Drucker?
-
Well, I found out today that it's 36 days until the murder trial I'm working on begins. It will likely last 2 weeks. Much to do, much to do.....
-
Thanks for the wishes for my dad. I'll let him know
Oh dear, what a strange way to start a page
Tonight I watched the second episode of the Canadian, HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA.
ALW was on a lot (he didn't really do much till they got to 20). John barrowman was on less. :(
One thing i liked is that even though they did not pick everyone i liked, they did profile pretty much every single person that they selected. There were not a bunch of people we had never seen before (a la SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE).
Should be interesting. There are a few girls i really like!
Oy, I have finally finished the biggest frigging pile of review copies I have ever had--gigantic boxed sets with 8-10 DVDs each, plus various and sundried single DVDs. I managed to get most everything in before street date, though a couple of things got to me way past street date, so those I couldn't help. I have a new pile of DVDs I want to get rid of now. :)
Mark Derwin, formerly of ONE LIFE TO LIVE and now an LA-based actor.
I began my evening by watching another several episodes of THE OFFICE. Not having seen these in many, many months, they make me laugh anew. I loved the episode where the various salesmen paired up and went out on a sales challenge. Dwight and Jim, despite being mortal enemies, made a GREAT sales team. Michael and Andy were a miserable team.
-
And, of course, each episode had deleted scenes, often enough to make an entire episode just with those discarded scenes, and many times they are JUST as funny as the actual show. Amazing how much quality material they end up cutting.
-
I also watched some Toby-centric wraparound segments used before and after episode marathons. He's one of my very favorite characters on the show, so I enjoyed seeing these segments that focused totally on him.
-
I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yes, the boys were on, squabbling endlessly, and despite a new (cuter) fella who's interested in Luke, looks like nothing's going to come of that.
-
Spoo! They were not featured in the previews for tomorrow.
-
I'm already on disc 3 in the four disc OFFICE set, so I could conceivably finish the box in the next two days. Maybe sooner depending on what review discs (if any) that come in.
-
Isn't that Mort Drucker?
That's what I meant - Drucker.
-
Good evening!!!
-
I have a student worker who is in dire need of "What not to listen to" music wise....
She adores Kelli Pickler, a country singer.... SHE is BAD!!!!
-
I finally thought of an M.D.....Director Maury Dexter! He directed POLICE NURSE, POLICE DOG, HOUSE OF THE DAMNED, and LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE.
-
Mark Derwin, formerly of ONE LIFE TO LIVE and now an LA-based actor.
I remember him on OLTL, he played Ben Davidson. Good actor
-
speaking of LHOTP, mbarnum... The musical premieres this summer at the Guthrie in Minneapolis. Melissa Gilbert is playing Ma Ingalls
-
Just looked in a book I have... Mark Derwin was also on DAys, Young and the REstless, Guiding Light and a primetime show called Hardball
-
OMG, Cheyenne Jackson! I have heard his singing but never had the opportunity to see him. OH, Lord, I would be happy to die now... :) I know, I'm a naieve dweeb, but oh, wow!
-
I did watch the BONES rerun tonight. Pretty good show, but lots of people were in giddy bad moods, so things seemed a little off.
-
Watched last night's LAW & ORDER: CI. Julianne Nicholson is back, but I still prefer her replacement while Julianne was on maternity leave. Sad she had to go.
-
And I concluded my evening by watching IN PLAIN SIGHT, also from last night. It was an OK episode, but it will be my list. Just not funny or compelling enough to hook me. Too bad. But once MAD MEN begins its summer run, I believe it's going to be on Sundays at 10 as well.
-
Now I think I'm going to head on down to bed now. I feel really tired right now. Perhaps it's a residue from all the frenzied posting last night.
Good night!
Looking at a picture in this book of Sloane Shelton... It strangely looks like HIlary Clinton...
DR JulieC40 - I don't think that Levain (http://www.levainbakery.com/) is two miles from your hotel. Maybe just a mile... mile and a half. Your hotel is on 45th, and Levain is on 74th. It's really not that far. And if you walk over to Times Square and take the 2 Train, it's only one stop to 72nd... and if you ride the top of the train, then you can exit right at 73rd and walk over and up one block to all that Cookie Goodness. ;)
Hmm.. I just Google-mapped it, and it is two miles away. Who knew? In any case, if you choose to walk there, it's a nice walk - you can go up Fifth Ave., check out Central Park South, Columbus Circle... The cookies will be well worth the walk. :)
Wing bad?
Jose, Yeah, I googled it too that's how I found out. I may take your advice actually. I'm in that great of shape so your way sounds better! *lol* After my job ends on Thursday, I will be concentrating more on exercise and a spring cleaning of the apt before we leave so that's extra exercise too!
-
Well, I'm off to bed. Night all!
-
Wing bad?
I wonder if the are related....
-
working on some genealogy and I am trying to sort out this one family... More multiplie marriages than I can shake a stick at: His three marriages, tow of his wives have kids from previous marriages and then their kids...
Finished more Mannix and the first episode (pilot) of The Invaders.
Welcome fourteen GUESTS. Surely there are some M.D.s left.
-
From Mr. Rothman, who is either too lazy or too something or other to register and post himself. It's quite easy, you know. The man is a whiz on his little Blueberry or Redberry or whatever the HELL it is, but he can't hit the register button, create a username, get a password, change the password to something he'll remember - it's not Brain surgery, you know.
Matt Dennis - singer.
-
Melvin Durslag - LA sportswriter
-
Marcel Dalio - character actor, Casablanca and many other films
-
Mark Damon.
-
Mickey Deems.
-
Merle Debuskey - B'way press agent (OBSCURE ALERT)
-
Michael Davis - gonzo juggler from SNL
-
Mike DeJohn - heavyweight fighter.
Drive safe, George!
Thanks! I'm back from the game. They lost by seven points. :( It was a good game, though. Very close throughout, but then in the last two minutes, the other team (the Connecticut Sun) pulled out and won. The drive both up to Seattle and back to Olympia was completely easy and almost no traffic slowdowns. That was the best part. :)
-
Wing bad?
No, not THAT bad! She was an American Idol finalist (and Country Music Award winner).
