Well, no one can say we didn't get to page one.
Me, I want a hulahoop.
Odd since getting around the site works perfectly.
It does not seem slow to me!
Is the posting any faster?
And a few of us have really gotten around!
If it wasn't so damnably slowwwww.
Mine's just fine!
Oh go ahead - post your damn round tuit!
Posting still taking longer than usual.
What a coinky-dink, DR George! :D I just got a copy of the 2-disc The Hired Man in the mail yesterday!
Do you know the show or is this the first time that you've heard it?
Here is the story of the concert piece "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas."
Composer Eric Whitacre was largely untrained, but discovered that he had quite a compositional talent, and was accepted into Juilliard's program. He was writing all kinds of wonderful choral pieces, but his professors said, "Enough of that!" Give us something instrumental. He didn't cotton to that kind of authority, so decided to "show them" by writing "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas," intending it to be a parody score for a fictitious BAD Japanese horror film. So first he wrote a synopsis of this fictitious film, and then he "scored" it.
It has gone on to become one of his most successful compositions! :)
DRLAURA - Yes both episodes of COPS were reruns last night, not very interesting either, the second time around. Are you going to get a NEW television set?
And the word of the day is: MULLION!
And The Song Of The Day Is: A ROOM WITHOUT WINDOWS
I hope the casts of Curtains, Sunday in the Park with George, and Top Girls have wonderful closing performances today.
That song always freaks me out. A room without windows or doors is a tomb, isn't it?
Sunday morning greetings! Richard is off to church in Cincinnati and I'm about to partake of my second "guilty pleasure" movie of the weekend on Lifetime. Yesterday I watched The Pilot's Wife, based on the novel by Anita Shreve, and in about 10 minutes I'm going to watch Open House, which I hope is based on the novel by Elizabeth Berg. They both star my Univ. of Michigan classmate Christine Lahti.
I'm a Hired Man virgin! 8)
IN PLAIN SIGHT (USA) (for those who are still watching; I'm not)
In another room, at the same time, I shall be working on a long overdue project for DR elmore3003.
DR ELMORE I saw Miss Hayley Mills in the tour, and the just idea of seeing her made everything else okay...even though there were some unusual things in that show.....and now I have to try to remember who played The King....because he was pretty good, too.
I really cannot stomach how they report news anymore - on TV, the Internet, anywhere. The latest Internet headline glaring at me is TEEN KILLED BY ROLLERCOASTER - at Six Flags Georgia. Now wouldn't your first assumption be that the rollercoaster malfunctioned and a tragic accident happened? Certainly that was mine. But, no, this teen scaled TWO not one, TWO six foot fences that were clearly marked that clearly said OFF LIMITS and DANGEROUS to VISITORS, then proceeded to enter a RESTRICTED AREA, at which point he was struck by the rollercoaster. Not exactly the fault of anyone but the teen, but first they've got to get you to read the story, I guess.
Another break: about 12 more bars to write.
A gracious good afternoon to one and all!
Happy Sunday, June 30th.
RLP - by the way, there are correct guesses at the Intrada forum.
For the record, DR MBarnum, I've never called you Lulu or Nancy, and I always defend you: when folk say to me you're not fit for pigs, I say, yes you are!
Hi, Sing! Hi, Mike!
I have not fully explored Matt's abilities.
Today continues with burning and clearing stuff off the DVR.
In another room, at the same time, I shall be working on a long overdue project for DR elmore3003.
I got a lovely package in the mail from DR George yesterday. Yay, thank you!!!
Happy Sunday, June 30th.
When do you fly to California, Chopsticks?
Well, I am sure that Chopsticks would be willing to do that for you.
They opened the first Sephora (cosmetics store) here.
Can i just say I LOVE THIS STORE!
Okay everything is overpriced. But every single item has a sampler. And they only sell the highest end products.
I wish they would just empty the store for me and let me spend the night alone in there!
Later this afternoon, I'm ushering for a tour of Whose Live Anyway? (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/calendar/calendar_detail.asp?event_id=991) This is the third (I think) time that the guys have come to Olympia and the place totally sells out! And they're hysterical! If you ever get a chance to see them, GO!! :D
Why are you ushering this afternoon, if the show doesn't start until 7:00?
I do not get the weather here lately!! One minute it's warm happy sunshine, the next it's raining hard enough to make me consider building an ark.
"They've cut the fuel expenses way down compared to what they used to could have done" A quote from a boat dealer on the news tonight. Good grief.
??? ??? ??? The fuel expenses of what?
I haven't felt well at all today. I am hoping that I feel better soon so I can get my work done
Cilla-
You feel better--and that's an order
A gracious good afternoon to one and all!
Happy Sunday, June 30th.
Overwork? Stress? Hope you feel better soon!
I just learned that the potato chip was invented in Saratoga Springs NY when a diner complained that his potatoes were cut too thick, so the cook got even by cutting them VERY thin.
FJL - guess what someone just ordered.
Watching the track & field Olympic trials from Eugene, OR.
It was a story about how people are buying more boats this year, but they are just floating more than running the motor or some such nonsense. I just thought his grammar was atrocious.
Good Evening!
Well... The cast is as ready as they are going to be for tomorrow's presentation for the musical supervisor from the Really Useful Group (a.k.a. The Man from RUG). More precisely, they as ready as the want to be for tomorrow's presentation. We ran the whole show today, and a good chunk of them weren't trying their best - or just weren't trying at all in some sections. Very frustrating. However, after tomorrow morning, any and all changes will be determined by the Man from RUG. -And we reminded the cast about that fact. Time to STEP. IT. UP!!!
Jose - did the singer find out about the wrong-month booking mistake before she got to the airport?
Back from an errand and a visit to the new location of the Kansas City Barbecue - had a brisket sandwich and, instead of fries, beans. I think Ye Olde Stomach if finally shrinking because I could barely finish what normally I not only finish easily, but I normally finish a huge portion of fries, and I've been known to have a side of sausage, too. Not today, Charlie.
...
Alas, she's currently stranded in Houston due to a delayed connecting flight. She left Los Angeles at 9:00 this morning, and probably won't be arriving in Ft. Lauderdale until sometime after midnight. :-\
Thanks ArnoldMBrockman. I'm beginning to think I may have your stomach flu...
Jose, did you say that Cameron Mackintosh was coming in to watch a rehearsal this week, or did I dream that?
Oooo, show biz sounds so glamorous!
Poor thing, I hope she arrives safely and not too worse for wear.
DR ArnoldMBrockman - I'm staying off of Cypress Creek - right near the Tri-Rail station.
Also, DR Michael S has expressed an interest in getting together for dinner. How about a trio on Thursday night?
That Sounds good to me.I might bring my wife,Roni with me if that's OK

Luckily you can call in sick.
Uh oh. I was thinking it was one of your office days.
Hopefully, whatever is in your system will be gone by morning.
You've gotta be well so you can play with the babies.
Perhaps I'll do that now. It's aching a bit.
Sasha will be glad when my ankle is healed. She really wants me off her couch.
I keep seeing trailers for Kitt Kitridge (SP?) I swear I've seen that before. Is that possible?
Gotta run
