Well, since the minister was late getting stuff to me and considering that I was in Fresno when it came via email and I couldn't do anything about it at that time, guess what I am doing now.

Oh, DR td - we just re-watched Young Frankenstein on Friday night! :)
DR MATTH - I especially like Sean Murray in NCIS....Pauly Perette's character's forced "quirkiness" bugs me, especially since I think she would not be allowed to dress as she does at a government job...but all in all, yes, it is the characters and performers that enhance the stories for me and keep me interested.
LOL, DR JRand - it really does revolve around which Vera Bradley bag I decide to take!
(And which shoes I'm able to get into...)
Did you bring my raisins? 8)
I couldn't get them through security.
I got to Toyland to find the 10th floor in disarray and all the bathrooms disemboweled. Clearly no one had been in the office for a while, and on the floor with all the mail dumped by the postman was a landlord notification that our restrooms were out of order for 6-8 weeks and to use the 8th floor restrooms.
Unfortunately, the men's room was out of order on the 8th floor! So I'm home and rather angry about a lousy situation. Who needs all of this moronic aggravation?

I saw Pete Kelly's Blues on the old CBS Late Movie, and I remember liking Peggy Lee a lot, especially her song, "I Can Sing a Rainbow" - which perhaps Mr. Guy Haines could record.
I finally figured out why BURN NOTICE won't be on at least the next two weeks:
U.S. Open Tennis Tournament which USA broadcasts during the week.

I think I may have set up a dangerous/unfortunate precedent over the past week. Yes, I should be productive today here around the apartment: clean, organize, sort and purge, etc. But all I really want to do is wander around the City again this afternoon. Hmm... Maybe it's my way of saying Goodbye to my Thirties. ;)
re: PETE KELLY'S BLUES, BK did you watch the TV series of the same name, produced by Jack Webb and starring William Reynolds?
Jose, you sound rather wistful (alternate word of the day) about the end of your Thirties. I suppose that is only natural; but I assure you that there a lot of men who are turning 40 this year who can only wish they were as good looking as you, or that they were living the life that you are currently living in New York.
So enjoy!
Aw, shucks and Thanks, DR TCB.
I'm not sure if "wistful" really applies here. I think the more operative here in this case is: lazy.
;)
Wistful sounds more poetic.
Time for me to be "wistful" as I walk along the streets of New York City...
Laters...
If one were near my condo today, one might catch the scent of mystery.....
I forgot to mention one of the things I picked up yesterday was a new, sealed copy of the Warners Best Buy exclusive World Without End/Satellite In The Sky DVD. These have been impossible to find - Warners severely underpressed and I searched every Best Buy in LA and no one had them, nor did they have them on the website. Why? Because all the eBay and amazon sellers went and bought up every copy, which they're selling for $40 and up, and people are paying those prices.
So, the first person who'd like this can have it - it was list price ($14.99) and since I got it using trade, no sales tax.
Touch Connors?
I started watching Bobby Deerfield - I remember seeing it twice back when it came out so I must have liked it, but so far it's fairly dreary, at least for the first fifteen minutes. But the Dave Grusin score is brilliant. I'm now listening to Bernard Herrmann's The Night Digger, and then I'll go back to the movie. Five hours to dinner.
Hello, all. I'm at home, eating a (formerly frozen) pizza. I set the timer to 15 minutes, even though the directions said 18-20 minutes. Even at 15 minutes, it was too over-done. :-\ It's really only the edges that have the worst of it, but I don't have to eat that. And it'll reheat very nicely for dinner.
Just had to share. :)
Perhaps you need to have your oven checked.
I forgot to mention that Jayne Mansfield has a small role (as a brunette!) in Pete Kelly's Blues. She's the cigarette girl in the club.
If you watch BOP GIRL, DR MBarnum, you'll be seeing the work of one of Rodgers & Hammerstein's leading ladies. . .
Sadly BOP GIRL GOES CALYPSO's leading lady, Judy Tyler, would die in a tragic car accident, along with her husband, on a Wyoming freeway before this film even reached theaters.
I'm just catching up on yesterday's posts.
RE: the olympics. DRs Jrand and Cillaliz were talking about diving being a shocker. Was that the men's 10m platform results? I watched that too. I thought for sure that chinese guy was gonna win!
Gonna move into the other room to watch the Olympics closing on the big TV.
Bye for now!
I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the delightful Australian Diver Matthew Mitcham.
(His demeaner reminds of the also charming Ian Thorpe. I was also pleased to see (on Oz TV) interviews with the swimmers by Daniel Kowalski (sp).)
Now - back to lurking.
And Perhaps to listen to "Pipe Dreams" which I also love.
That's who I was referring to when I was so excited about the diving final.
So when you are 16 and all your dreams have come true...what do you do next?
OH!
Why was I think that diver was Canadian?
???
The way he dressed should have indicated he was from the Southern Hemisphere! :)
That's who I was referring to when I was so excited about the diving final.
All is very well with us. I am quite as a round as a pumpkin, and about as graceful on my feet, these days. Our little man is due in seven weeks. I can hardly believe it has gone by so quickly! Jed is very excited to become a daddy. We were listening to a Guy Haines album in the car on the way home from his mother's house today, and it put me in mind of the HHW group. So here I am.
hello all! I just thought I'd pop my head in here and see how our HHW people are faring.
Oh well.....I think I will watch IT'S TRAD DAD.....
