******************* HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR VERY DEAR READER ELMORE *****************
-
Good morning, all! A big thank to to DRs JRAND59 and DAW for their early morning birthday wishes. BK, thank you for the kind words; the day I called Bay Cities and you answered the phone was one of the luckiest days of my life. If it had been a secretary or one of your partners who answered the phone, there would have been a note to you that I had called and that would most likely have been the end of it.
So, I have not much to do today beyond a meeting about the McGlinn estate at 11 am. John's sister Lorin is still in town and I told her to call me if she had nothing to do later on. I don't think I mentioned in my post last night that her beautiful daughter Davis, who's a sophomore broadcast major at Syracuse, came down for yesterday's event. I think it's been interesting for all of McGlinn's roster of favorite performers to meet the family that he reviled and maligned so much: Evan and Lorin, and by extension her daughter Davis, have found surrogates for their brother, and I think all of the performers who met them for the first time yesterday are a bit in shock that they are not only kind and lovely people but still in shock over John's horrid treatment of them. Sibling rivalry can be ugly, but John's treatment of them went far beyond anything I've ever seen. He was crazy, you know. And for eighteen years, one of my closest friends.
I think I will continue with the tidying of the apartment this morning; I have things to pack up for shipment to Miami University Library and I have more vacuuming and cleaning as well.
TOD: because my dad, who unlike me never put on weight until he was hitting 70, had a sweet tooth, we usually had something sweet to end dinner or to occur before bedtime when I was growing up. Since my mother was, in her sane moments, a good cook, I remember fondly, because her pastry crust was one of the absolute best, her apple pie, cherry pie, banana cream pie, coconut cream pie, doughnuts, and that recipe involving vanilla wafers, vanilla pudding and banana slices. If she didn't make a dessert, we'd have ice cream. My dad's favorites were strawberry and cherry, and as I get older I find I am more like him than I would ever have guessed.
-
Thank you, DRs Ben and Julie! Ben, I loved the card. I send my love back to you and Anthony!
-
Happy Birthday to DR Elmore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now I am off to work. I thought we would be closed today in honor of DR ELMORE's birthday, but that is not the case.

And now I am off to work. I thought we would be closed today in honor of DR ELMORE's birthday, but that is not the case.
I've always wondered why today isn't nationally celebrated, DR JRand59! I hope your work day is filled with customers and friends so the day passes quickly rather than turtling by.
Thank you, DR Jennifer, for the birthday wishes!

Good morning!
More overcast skies, but I got my walk in without a single drop of rain falling. According to the newspaper, we did have rain yesterday, but it must have happened in the early morning hours.
-
I didn't notice a single drop of water on the back porch yesterday as I began my clean up back there prior to painting the laundry room area which sustained the mostdamage from the leaks. There's a fair amount of mold that I must clean prior to painting. Ugh! But it has to be done. This will take me a long time (I'm guessing several weeks) since I'm not physically able to do more than a few minutes of cleaning before aching and pain set in.
-
A VERY Happy Birthday to dearest DR Elmore!!!
I wish I could send the handyman over but he's busy at my house for the foreseeable future!
-
Another daunting work project today: the made-for-disc sequel to WRONG TURN (which I worked on yesterday), WRONG TURN 2: DEAD END.
It's probable junk like this that makes the job less than ideal. Then again, I shouldn't prejudge it. I liked ALIENS better than ALIEN, so maybe it's possible this won't be as awful as I'm expecting.
-
Since I am expecting a raft of phone calls this afternoon, I likely won't get to the work project until tonight. What's worse, it's 10 minutes longer than the original!
-
I guess I'll go ahead and finish up the last episode of CASTLE in the box set (there were only 10 episodes produced last season) and I'll watch the very sad final episode of NCIS - Season Two when one of the team members gets killed.
-
Happy Happy Birthday, DR Elmore!

Happiest of birthdays to dear DR Elmore!!!
-
Saturday morning greetings! I am quite refreshed today after a very busy week. Richard and Rob are getting ready to take a carload of obsolete computer components to our county recycling place and I'm getting ready to watch Michigan play football at noon. After that, I'll need to go to the grocery store.
-
Thank you, DRs Matt H, Laura, and Ginny. It looks as though the handyman could straightened out my bookcases, DR MattH, but the moment has past. Perhaps when your commerce with him is over, he can haul ashes for DR MBarnum!
I have to go off to a meeting shortly. I found the missing CDs from yesterday, so I'm not totally cracking up yet!

I just received this charming missive from Wahid Adada:
Dear Friend,
As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for
me, because, I believe everyone will die someday.
My name is MR Wahid Adada a Crude Oil merchant in IRAN,i
have been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer .
It has defiled all forms of medical treatment, and
right now I have only about a few months to live,
according to medical experts.
I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I
never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my
business. Though I am very rich, I was never
generous, I was always hostile to people and only
focused on my business as that was the only thing I
cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know
that there is more to life than just wanting to have
or make all the money in the world.
I believe when God gives me a second chance to come
to this world I would live my life a different way
from how I have lived it. Now that God has called
me, I have willed and given most of my property
and assets to my immediate and extended family
members as well as a few close friends.
I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul
so, I have decided to give alms to charity
organizations, as I want this to be one of the last
good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed
money to some charity organizations in Austra, cameroun,
liberia,Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has
deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself
anymore. I once asked members of my family to close
one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have
there to charity organization in Bulgaria and
Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to
themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as
they seem not to be contended with what I have left
for them.
The last of my money which no one knows of is the
huge cash deposit of fifteen million dollars
$15,000,000,00 that I have with a finance/Security
Company abroad. I will want you to help me collect this
deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations.
I have set aside 10% for you and for your time.
God be with you.
MR Wahid Adada

Wahid was always thoughtful that way.

Damn that Esophageal cancer and the way it defiles medical treatment.

The pastor's wife / nurse / kitten saver just left. She thinks the littlest one will be ok without fluids until we see the vet (hopefully) on Monday. It's getting harder to put it in since he's not so dehydrated any more.

Back from the long jog - it's been at least a week since I've done the long jog and it wasn't that easy.

And you will not believe what I saw upon my return because my jaw practically hit the sidewalk. After months and months of enduring these oafs next door, the house is almost finished - probably a couple weeks away. And now we know why the owners never came to say hello and apologize and why they never will - why? Because they just put a FOR SALE sign up. That's right - it was built by a construction company for an investor (I'm guessing the property fell into some sort of foreclosure after the owners died, and that some asshole company got it cheap). I'm sure the price tag will be over a million dollars and I hope these buttwipes have to sit on it unsold for a year or more.
-
Wow, BK. I hope it sits unsold, too. It should be nice and quiet that way.

That's pretty much what has happened next door to me. The developer started with his bigger house at almost 1 million, and the "smaller" house at about 750K, and through the months, brought them down bit by bit. I'm pretty sure the smaller one has just sold with a listing price of 499K (which I assume means it sold for well under that), and the bigger one is now at 599K. Of course the shrieking neighbor who has fits of pique every time the houses are shown probably hasn't helped the sales prices, LOL. ;)

BK, I also have a lovely MP3 I created of a beeping truck backing up whilst a high soprano screams repeatedly. I've found that has a chilling effect on realtors and their clients. Let me know if you'd like a copy. :)

And now, I have to get ready to go to work...and then actually go to work. This is the cut-off to get all our monthly bills paid. I still have some invoices to deal with and they must be dealt with by 5:00 pm tonight (when our building closes)! So, I'm off to work.
Have a good day, all!

Skypeing with the Blu-ray staff is fun and funny--they're all over the world and we always spend the first several minutes trying to figure out who's actually online. :)

And on a clear day can you see forever?

Thank you, DRs Michael S, JMK, MBarnum, Jane, JoseSPiano, TCB!
Yes, DR Nursie, I did see last night's card but this tired old body completely forgot about it between BK's notes and my first posting. It was very sweet of you. And I'm getting old.
-
Had a good afternoon of videos of my choice and a bad afternoon with my work project. To start with the good, I watched the NCIS season two finale in which a member of the team leaves the unit. I guess I should try googling the actress to see why she left the show: more money, work hours too long, moving away?
-
So far I'm having a wonderful day, the McGlinn meeting went well, and now I think I will continue the tidy up of the apartment. I need a nap.
-
Next, I watched the last episode of CASTLE from the season one box. Can't wait to see new episodes. Love the show and the characters.
-
While I ate lunch, I watched last night's PSYCH episode. Not enough faux-psych stuff for me, and the perp's identity was easier to figure out than usual. I did love Shawn's line while trying to eat Indian food - "Do you HAVE to serve this food in molten lava?"
-
Then I had time so I watched Thursday night's episode of THE OFFICE. I found it very funny indeed and was rolling at some of the gossip stories. Quite hilarious.
-
Because the phone calls I was expecting didn't happen, I went ahead and watched today's work project - WRONG TURN 2: DEAD END. What a pile of garbage! I'm sure slasher fans loved every minute of it, but I found it fairly repulsive and the two most agreeable people dying while more undeserving people lasting until the end. We got to see more about the inbred cretins who are the killers, an entire family of them that have been breeding for generations (the first film just had three brothers as the killers).
-
I also had time to watch the few bonus features on the disc. They used 300 gallons of fake blood on this film. Isn't that FASCINATING!
-
I also had time to watch the few bonus features on the disc. They used 300 gallons of fake blood on this film. Isn't that FASCINATING!
Bloody right!
-
I had completely forgotten to mention this, but it dawned on me while I was watching WRONG TURN 2 (anything to take my mind off the murders and carnage) that my review pile is completely depleted!
I have a day off tomorrow! OMG!
-
Well, the internet seems pretty quiet this afternoon, so I'm going to start writing up today's work project and then head back down. I don't know what I'll have time to watch tonight. I'll decide later.

BON ANNIVERSAIRE to DR elmore ...
... and to celebrate, some nice article some might enjoy!
Mouseketeer memories
Monday, August 3 | 9:30 a.m.
BY MARY ANN ALBRIGHT
COLUMBIAN STAFF WRITER
At his custom-built Amboy home, a brown, contemporary design on an acre of land with views of Mount St. Helens, Cubby O'Brien is enjoying semi-retirement after a drumming career that began with "The Mickey Mouse Club" and has continued over the past five decades with stints on Broadway, tours with top performing acts and television work.
But it's his time as a Mouseketeer, working alongside performers such as Bobby Burgess, Annette Funicello and Jimmie Dodd, for which O'Brien most often gets recognized.
"It's usually 'Mickey Mouse Club' fans who tell me what the show meant to them growing up," said O'Brien, 63.
While some former child stars tire of being associated with the programs that launched their careers, O'Brien embraces his ties to the popular 1950s Disney variety show.
"It really started me. It really set the tone for the rest of my career," he said.
On Thursday O'Brien will give back to fans, appearing at the Clark County Historical Museum in downtown Vancouver to talk about his career as part of the "Boomer!" exhibit.
"We thought it would be fun to bring in Cubby since he was such a big part of that generation's culture," said Lisa Christopher, the museum's visitor services coordinator.
O'Brien will supplement his discussion with video footage from his years on "The Mickey Mouse Club" and "The Lawrence Welk Show."
Where it all began
Growing up in Burbank, Calif., as the son of drummer Haskell "Hack" O'Brien, show business and music were in O'Brien's blood. And a childhood nickname became a stage name that stuck.
"I was three days old, I was this short, roly-poly little thing. My mom thought I looked like a bear cub," said O'Brien, whose given name is Carl.
By the time he was 5, O'Brien was benefitting from daily drum lessons from his father. He was 8 years old, playing in a Dixieland band at a Screen Actors Guild benefit, when Disney producers spotted him and invited him to audition for "The Mickey Mouse Club."
Drumming O'Brien could do, but he'd never sung before his audition.
"They had me sing 'Happy Birthday,'" O'Brien said.
After being chosen for the show, he had to branch out further with tap dance lessons.
"But I picked it up really quick because of my drumming and rhythm," O'Brien said.
O'Brien spent three seasons on "The Mickey Mouse Club," getting to know the other Mouseketeers and enjoying occasional visits from Walt Disney.
"We all called him Uncle Walt," O'Brien said.
After "The Mickey Mouse Club," O'Brien went straight to "The Lawrence Welk Show," where he played in the band.
"(Lawrence) was great. We got along really well," O'Brien said.
After two years making "Champagne Music" with Welk, O'Brien took a break from television and went on the road playing for Spike Jones before getting hired on for Ann-Margret's nightclub act at Lake Tahoe, Nev. Ann-Margret was an important connection for O'Brien, and helped him establish contact with some of the major television networks. This lead to work on "The Jim Nabors Show" and ultimately "The Carol Burnett Show," where he spent six years.
"It was just fantastic. How can you not like Carol Burnett?" O'Brien said.
It was on "The Carol Burnett Show" that O'Brien met three people who would play key roles in his future: Karen and Richard Carpenter and Bernadette Peters.
"Top of the world"
Karen Carpenter was an accomplished drummer, but band management wanted her out front singing where the audience could see her, so O'Brien was invited to go on tour with them.
"There was no (sheet) music," he recalled. "I had to learn everything by listening."
O'Brien toured with The Carpenters from 1972 to 1979. He even went with them to Japan, where the brother-sister musicians were so popular that they played a packed sports arena.
Throughout those years, Karen Carpenters' struggle with her weight was evident, O'Brien said, adding that people back then didn't have a good understanding of anorexia. Karen Carpenter died in 1983 of cardiac arrest related to her long battle with anorexia nervosa.
"Karen was a very sweet girl," O'Brien said.
After touring with The Carpenters, O'Brien spent much of the '80s touring with various nightclub acts, including Peters, Joel Gray, Debbie Reynolds and Andy Williams. He also played the drums on five Academy Awards shows and for various television specials and variety shows.
The first half of the 1990s, he spent touring the globe with Shirley MacLaine before turning his attention to musical theater.
The Great White Way
For the mid- to late-1990s, O'Brien toured with the casts of "West Side Story" and "Beauty and the Beast." But over the years, he'd maintained his friendship and working relationship with Peters, so when she signed on to do "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway in 1998, O'Brien followed her to New York.
Next came "The Producers" with Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. "They are both very funny guys," O'Brien said of the pair, who starred in the Mel Brooks show.
Show tunes were a departure from the music O'Brien built his career around, but it was an easy transition.
"It doesn't matter the (style of) music. What matters are the people," he said.
And one of the people he most enjoys working with — "a lifelong friend" — is Peters. So when she took on the role of Gypsy Rose Lee, O'Brien left "The Producers" for "Gypsy."
Until this point, he'd led a nomadic life. He'd lived in Los Angeles, New York and Dallas, Texas, spent time in Las Vegas and traveled the world. So after touring with "Chicago," O'Brien celebrated turning 60 by settling in the Northwest.
Where he wants to be
It was love that brought the twice-divorced O'Brien to Amboy. In 2000, while flying from New York to Portland to do a Salem, Ore., show with Peters, O'Brien met Holly, a flight attendant who caught his eye.
"I was running back and forth from the galley to talk to her," O'Brien said.
O'Brien was working on "Annie Get Your Gun" at the time and invited Holly to see the show the next time she was in New York. She took him up on his offer and "we haven't been apart since," O'Brien said.
Holly is from the Northwest. She moved to New York to be with him, but made him promise they'd come back to the West Coast one day. A few years ago, the O'Briens decided it was time, and bought a plot of land in Amboy to build their home.
"It's exactly what I want it to be. We love it here," O'Brien said.
Though he's played in Japan, Australia, South America, South Africa and across the United States, O'Brien hasn't done any shows in Southwest Washington. In fact, he doesn't even have a drum set at the Amboy home he shares with Holly and their two cats, Mandy and Mr. Zipser.
He isn't ready to retire the drumsticks just yet though, so Amboy's proximity to the Portland airport is key.
Not only does Alicia, O'Brien's daughter from his first marriage, live in Los Angeles, but he also travels two or three times a month to play with Peters, recently joining her for shows in Aspen, Colo., and Adelaide, Australia.
Peters still introduces him as one of the original Mouseketeers, and in contrast with many of today's child stars, including "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" performers such as Britney Spears, O'Brien had a relatively smooth introduction to show business.
"(Child actors) are so slick now," he says. "We were like the kids next door."
And without so many of the pressures facing young stars today, he also was able to avoid many of the pitfalls of celebrity.
"We were the Mouseketeers that didn't have to go to rehab," he says with a laugh.
Much of his success and the course his life has taken, O'Brien says, has to do with the people with whom he surrounded himself.
"If you work with good people and nice people, you end up having good experiences, and I've been very lucky," he said.

You do realize Avinu Malkeinu is not a hand lotion?
-
Is isn't?? ;D
-
Is isn't?? ;D
Make up your mind. ;)
-
I got my first ever Blu-ray check discs today. Check discs are pre-retail versions of product and may or may not reflect the final retail version. The weird thing about these--they're transparent!
-
Is isn't?? ;D
Make up your mind. ;)
LOL!

We just celebrated DR Elmore's birthday with a festive taco party for dinner. Wish you'd been here, DR Elmore!
-
Happy Birthday DR Elmore
-
Did a very nice interview this morning with actor Bill Cord star of SHE GOD'S OF SHARK REEF (1958) (seen here dancing with another of my interviewees, Lisa Montell)
He was also the pilot that you would see on the screen during the Rocket to the Moon ride at Disneyland (does anyone happen to have the Disney Treasure's DVD set that has this on it????)
Bill's across the street neighbor, up until she died recently, was Virginia Mayo and his other neighbors were Annette Funicello's parents. Annette used to come over to his house all the time.
-
Happy Birthday DR Elmore
Thank you, DR cillaliz!

We just celebrated DR Elmore's birthday with a festive taco party for dinner. Wish you'd been here, DR Elmore!
I wish I were, too! I'm having a great day and the festivities continue tomorrow!

Of course, if you were here, we'd also have a Central Pastry birthday cake!
-
Back from the signing, which was really fun. I think it was the most people I've ever had - about twenty-three, and I read the entire first chapter (which is about all you can read without giving away too much). We had yummilicious cake, sold a nice number of books (including some of the older ones), and it was grand fun. We only had one no show and that was because of illness.
-
Then Cason came back with me and we got all the books shipped out with special gift. You'll find the special gift when you open the book.
-
That was a big load off. No mail or packages today. And now I shall relax until I have dinner with a shiksa on Rosh Hashanah.
-
Well, no one can say we didn't get to page five.
-
Ok, I'm no longer in the shape I was last spring. This morning I did a Race for Hope 5K for our local cancer center in my friend Steve's memory. I did it in about the same amount of time, but it was a lot more painful, lol. I've been pretty emotionally exhausted but this let me get physically tired out and I slept all afternoon. I'm a little sore, but I do feel better
-
Those in attendance heard about one of the upcoming Kritzerland releases.
-
DR Jane, sorry I didn't answer you yesterday, Callie seems to feeling better. Not sure the problem is solved but I'm hoping I don't have to take her back to the vet

Ok, time to get somethink for dinner
-
Good Evening!
Greetings from around Exit 12 on the NJ Turnpike. I'm Bolt-ing back to NYC.

Absolutely!

I would have posted sooner, but I'm guessing I ended up taking a nap just a few minutes after leaving Philly. ;)
-
Oooh, margaritas! Although, after making the rounds last night in Philly with my friend, Joe, and his friend, Sonja... Well... Let's just say that it's very possible to drink well in Philly's "alternative establishments" for under $20. ::)
*But I had a great time, did not get drunk (just a little buzzed), danced for about two hours straight (so to speak), and woke up this morning feeling fine. :)
-
bk, glad the book event was such a success. Who knew that the key to a large turnout is not sending out publicity?? ???
-
Exactly. It also occurs to me, DAW, that you could be the first to post an amazon review - in fact, I'd love it if you did that sooner than later.
-
DR elmore - I'm so happy to hear that McGlinn's Memorial went well yesterday. I hope the rest of your birthday weekend continues to be filled with such ease and happiness. And a margarita. Or two. -But where?!?!
*I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but... Cafe Edgar opened a second location a few blocks north on Amsterdam.
-
Well, we're approaching the Lincoln Tunnel...
Laters...

The Upper West Side needs more Mexican places!
-
Yes, bk - I should be able to accomplish that fairly soon.
-
...and just because...

My very best Happy Birthday wishes
to DR Larry Elmore3003!
Many Happy Returns, Larry!
-
This has been a great Saturday. Earlier, I watched the Washington Huskies upset the #3 ranked USC Trojans 16 to 13. Go Huskies!
Then I finally watched WALL-E, which I loved!
-
Thanks DR ELMORE - it was a fine Saturday with many people....and two NEW people who came in to see me. SIX Aura Photos and FOUR spirit pictures.....so yes it was a good day.
-
And what was the audience reaction to the Kritzerland release announcement?
-
DR JOSESPIANO is in the Lincoln Tunnel....I hope Ricky isn't letting Lucy drive.....no wait....that was the Holland Tunnel.
Nevermind.
-
Time to watch a dee vee dee.
-
Thank you, DR Ron Pulliam!
-
Time to boil the nipples.
Sorry folks, that's all I have to offer.
-
The lengthy telephone calls I was expecting this afternoon happened this evening. So I didn't get the Blu-ray of MISERY watched. That will be one of the items I'll be watching tomorrow during my day off.
-
I did finish watching the resolution of the murder of the NCIS agent by Ari David which I had started earlier in the afternoon. Very gripping resolution.
-
I started another NCIS episode, the one about a serial killer promising Gibbs that he's lead them to a dumping ground for many bodies that were previously unfound. I got about halfway through before turning it off and heading upstairs. I'll finish it tomorrow, likely while I'm cooking lunch. I plan to watch MONK while I eat lunch.
-
Page Six Dance!!!
-
In addition to MISERY tomorrow, I must rewatch ICE AGE 2 on Blu-ray. I'll be getting the third film in the series to review on Blu-ray in a few weeks, but I don't remember ANYTHING about the movie series at all, so I need to rewatch the last one to refresh my memory.
It was one of the first Blu-rays I bought.
-
And I'm home.
:)
-
I decided to go ahead and walk up from 34th Street to 59th Street/Columbus Circle after sitting on the bus for two hours. -What a gorgeous night in NYC!
-
Time to catch a couple hours of sleep before the next feeding.
-
On the subway ride from Columbus Circle to 145th Street, not only was I entertained by a group of "subway tumblers/acrobats", but there was also this gentleman playing harmonica on the D Train. From what I could tell, he was just playing for himself. He wasn't playing out, loud, and he didn't have a hat or box out to collect money. However, he played very well, and was giving some familiar tunes a Cajun swing treatment. "Que Sera Sera" in 4/4 really got my toes a-tappin'.
-
We finally got some rain around 6:30, and I was pleased and delighted that there were no leaks on the back porch at all. So that little matter seems to be settled. Now it just needs a general clean up and a fresh layer of paint.
-
And now I'm going to head downstairs and go to bed.
Good night!
-
bk - As for your iPhone problem, just hold down the Home button at the... Oh, nevermind... ;) However....
There have been lots of interesting "bugs" popping up over the past few weeks. Apparently, the latest software update (3.1) couple with AT&T's ever-strained 3G data network have been making iPhone do certain things - like not turning on at all, or just going to a black screen (but still on). In fact, there are still a couple of network issues here in NYC - and in Philly. Of course, AT&T - nor Apple - has made any official announcement about said problems, but if you check out the various Mac forums, you'll find plenty to read.
-
I won't officially celebrate Rosh Hashanah with my folks until tomorrow
-
G'night!
My nipples feel like they have been boiled.
-
bk - FYI: The production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels I saw earlier today at the Walnut Street Theatre (http://www.walnutstreettheatre.org/) not only starred Paul Schoeffler as Lawrence, but also your personal favorite, Jessica Rush, as Christine.
-
bk - Congratulations on a well-attended and well-selling book signing.
-
Did a very nice interview this morning with actor Bill Cord star of SHE GOD'S OF SHARK REEF (1958) (seen here dancing with another of my interviewees, Lisa Montell)
......
DR MBarnum - I keep meaning to ask you: Do you try to get a current picture of your interviewees to go along with your print interviews? Or do you leave that "offer" up to the person your interviewing?
-
Back from the Lernerville Raceway where Joe Nichols sang, and sang, and sang some more. He also played his guitar and looked fabulous. It was mentioned that he will be gracing Broadway next year (in PURE COUNTRY) as well as having a new cd out on October 29 (which became a running gag).
I have some very lovely photos from the occasion, but, I have spent the last 7 hours in the great outdoors. . .and I'm gonna need to take a Benedryl and hit the sack soon.
-
Well, I'm afraid I'm going to be heading to the Land of the Wussburgers now too. Sleepy, sleepy, sleepy.
Goodnight.
-
Exactly. It also occurs to me, DAW, that you could be the first to post an amazon review - in fact, I'd love it if you did that sooner than later.
BK did you get my order for the book back when you first announced it? I was charged for it on my credit card, but I haven'tseen the book yet
-
For those American Idol watchers, I know you're out there, Bucky Covington was Joe Nichols' opening act.

Not normally, but really I should.

I still cannot get any videos on YOUTUBE to play! Is it me, or is it them?
-
I take that back. I can get the videos to play on Safari, but not in AOL or Internet Explorer....very queer!
-
TOD
Baked Rice Pudding (or Tapioca)
Mince Meat Pie
der Brucer
-
TOD ice cream
-
I haven't seen the book yet
They were just mass-mailed today.
-
Cilla I did get your order, of course. You haven't seen the book because I was waiting for the gift that goes with it to arrive, which it finally did yesterday. All books were shipped out today. However, I clearly asked everyone here what the consensus was - to send books out three weeks ago and then send the gift separately, or to just wait - the overwhelming consensus was to wait, which is what I did.
-
Jrand, the reaction to the CD news was impressive.
-
Back from a really charming evening with a charming Charmy. We ate at Hugo's and it was all terrific and we had some wonderful conversation and I think she had a good time and I know I did.
-
Topic of the Day: Yes. ;D
We never had a regular dessert, just every once in a while, my mom would make something. But it was never something "fancy." We all like our desserts simple and tasty.
-

PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
And now, I have to get ready to go to work...and then actually go to work. This is the cut-off to get all our monthly bills paid. I still have some invoices to deal with and they must be dealt with by 5:00 pm tonight (when our building closes)! So, I'm off to work.
Have a good day, all!
Well...today at work, I was able to invoice all the invoices, print all the vouchers, assembled everything and filed them all within the rest of the previously finished invoices.
-
After that, my friend Margo, one of her daughters and I went to see "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" in 3-D! I love 3-D animated movies! There was a lot of action and a little romance and it was good fun. I couldn't recognize many of the voices while watching it, but I was familiar with most of them when I found out who they were in the credits.
-
You're welcome!
Btw... I'll be seeing some friends of yours on december 15 here ...
Miss Kim Criswell and Mr Rodney Gilfry! Yep ... and you know the show! ;D
I'm jealous! I love Kim Criswell (as Elmore knows :D)!!
-
Then Cason came back with me and we got all the books shipped out with special gift. You'll find the special gift when you open the book.
Hoo and Ray! Can't wait to get mine...and the gift, too!

Those in attendance heard about one of the upcoming Kritzerland releases.
Is it the one that is mentioned in the second part of THIS (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118008874.html?categoryid=2524&cs=1) article in Variety about FJL's Skip??
:D
-
No, I mentioned an upcoming soundtrack release - the one I've been talking about here.
