Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a go go, and now it is time for you to post until the go-go cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PEREMPTORY!
-
I'm listening to the samples of the WSMA's (aka Brent Barrett) brand new Christmas CD (http://www.kritzerland.com/barrett.htm)! This will definitely be worth getting!
-
I'll listen to the sample of "Billion Dollar Brain" and "The Final Option" (http://www.kritzerland.com/billion.htm) after that.
-
I've now listened to all the samples for the new releases. I really enjoyed the movie soundtrack clips. Can't wait for them!
-
The Brain score is brilliant - anyone who likes Richard Rodney Bennett should have it. He's written some of my all-time favorite film scores.
-
Welcome eight GUESTS.
-
We've already gotten some nice orders even at this late hour.
-
As usual I will place an order for Mr. Barrett's cd on Friday
Will he be signing them?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Up early today to get some things done before lunching with the volunteer administrators. This time tomorrow morning, Richard and I will be arriving at Dayton International Airport for our flight to NYC!
-
I just made my first Kritzerland.com order (through the website, that is...)
Aside from Mr Barrett's and Mr Dylan's audio Christmas offerings, I don't know of any other new ones this year.
-
Last night I watched a William Castle film on TCM I had never seen before--MR SARDONICUS. I remember seeing a full page pic of the villain's face in FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND and being totally freaked out. I had no idea that this man's troubles all stemmed from his inability to just relax and chill.
-
Bruce, please give the lovely and talented Mr. Jason Graae and big old wet smooch (or at least a very hearty masculine hug) from me!
-
We've already gotten some nice orders even at this late hour.
Including another at this unseemly early hour.

This is me doing the Go Go - when I was a bit younger:

-
Good Morning!
Another beautiful day here. It was plenty cool this morning, but it's going to warm into the 70s once again, and the sky is so deep blue without a single cloud to mar that gorgeous color. A heavenly fall day!
-
My work project today is the first season of THE GUARDIAN with Simon Baker in his first hit series star leading role. I've never seen a minute of this show, but I find him so appealing in THE MENTALIST (and in the films I've seen him in) that I requested getting this TV box set to review.
There are 22 episodes, so it'll take me three days to get through it all. I'll begin on it later this morning.
-
Yes, I already have WIlliam Castle's 13 GHOSTS and STRAIT-JACKET on single DVD releases, so I wasn't interested in springing for that box set and rebuying those titles.
-
On Oct. 21, 1879, Thomas Edison invented a workable electric light at his laboratory in Menlo Park, N.J.
-
This is me doing the Go Go - when I was a bit younger:
I think you ought to go back to being a blond again!
-
I see that ABC has picked up CASTLE for the rest of the season (its initial order was just for 13 episodes). I'm delighted by that news. It's quickly turned into one of my favorite shows.
-
Good morning, all! I have very little on today's agenda, and that's fine with me. At some point I need to run down to the theatre and deal with the music intro to the finale. Otherwise, it's MOST HAPPY FELLA and Kern's OH, BOY! today.
-
I'll have NCIS: LA to watch while I eat lunch today, and I still haven't gotten to last Friday's MONK or PSYCH. Doesn't look like I'll get to either of them anytime soon.
-
Good morning. That is all for now.
-
So, JRand, did you show your bladder who was boss yesterday?
-
Here is the cover from last night's program:
[for those of you who haven't been to Lincoln Center, that's the Metropolitan Opera in the background]
-
So, JRand, did you show your bladder who was boss yesterday?
Not only that, I hope he gave his bladder what for!! :D
-
Heading down now to get started on THE GUARDIAN's first season.
WBBL.
-
Off to lunch with the volunteer administrators...bye for now!
-
My Fed Ex bill for the 14 cartons landed today; it cost me $232 to send them to Ohio, around $26.57/carton. Not bad.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I guess I should I should "Post" sometime soon...
-
DR DAW - Sounds like it was a wonderful memorial, program last night.
*Of course, now I'm looking for the Nina's. ;)
-
Yes DR LAURA and DR DAW - I was on top of the bladder battle yesterday. I was the boss, until about 6:30 this morning when it asserted itself and became the master again. But it was a hard fought war.
-
Yes, DR DAW thanks for posting the cover of the Memorial Program. Most interesting.
-
Like DR MATTH - I own William Castle's DVD's as individual titles and I hate to buy the whole set just for a couple of the films.
THE OLD DARK HOUSE was in color! But it was eventually done in, for me, by its lackluster leading man Tom Poston. I liked him a lot on the Steve Allen Show - but on TO TELL THE TRUTH, the only bigger pill was Orson Bean.
-
My first question for ASK BK day -
Do the online sellers set their own prices for the Kritzterland CDs?
-
It seems that Jonathon Graff - who recently came out, or so it seems - will be joining GLEE as one of the 20+ students, and a romantic interest for Lea Michele, his SA costar.
-
With the subject of today's notes, I thought it was about Nolan Ryan Funk.
-
The SNL link that DR JOSE posted yesterday of Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg and some other guy doing Single Ladies with Beyonce ALWAYS makes me laugh.
-
One of my co-workers is WIRED today. Yak yak yak. Ceaseless verbal diarrhea since 8 a.m.
My last nerve has been trampled upon.

Maybe the impending delivery of CAMELOT will help. Sorry, was too crazy busy before we left, but they're out in the mail today.

Props to Justin.....Joe Jonas doesn't do so well with the song.

The SNL link that DR JOSE posted yesterday of Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg and some other guy doing Single Ladies with Beyonce ALWAYS makes me laugh.
I believe DR DAW posted said link. -Although, I'm still not sure the whole "Georgian" thing added anything to original "funny". ;)
-
It seems that Jonathon Graff - who recently came out, or so it seems - will be joining GLEE as one of the 20+ students, and a romantic interest for Lea Michele, his SA costar.
I believe Mr. Groff will be playing the lead singer for "Vocal Adrenaline" - the group the "Gleeks" watched in the pilot episode. I think he's signed on for five episodes.
I wonder if he will be a part of the to-be-directed-by Josh Whedon episode?
JG came out? Hmmm... -Links, please and Thank You. ;)
-
DR Ron Pulliam - ...And that's why I keep my iPod in my bag at all times. ;)
-
My first question for ASK BK day -
Do the online sellers set their own prices for the Kritzterland CDs?
We have our suggested retail price and they can charge less, more, whatever they want. They get their CDs at wholesale, but they don't have a huge amount of play room.
-
As usual I will place an order for Mr. Barrett's cd on Friday
Will he be signing them?
Gee, did you read the release? :) The answer is at the bottom.
-
I'm up, I'm tired (I could not fall asleep last night - not until about three), and now I have to print out orders, get to the post office, and jog.
-

A co-worker made a huge fuss yesterday about needing to take Friday off because she's decorating some hall for a dance to be held this weekend. It was a HUGE fuss, it was....everyone had to be made aware of it and then she spent major time calling folks to let them know she would be taking off.
This morning, another fuss, among several. This morning we learned her plate is too full of "work things" needing doing Friday and that she cannot take the whole day off but must have at least four (count 'em 4) hours off at the very least but that the first FOUR HOURS must be devoted/dedicated/directed toward her heavy plate of work.
Another fuss has had her buzz-buzz-buzzing about how astounded she was (nay, SHOCKED, SHOCKED I tell you...SHOCKED) to have visited another floor of our agency and discovered a total revamp had been done with people shifted all over the office and doing jobs different from what they had been doing. And, as is the norm with such busy people who talk a lot and walk a lot and don't take but four hours off when they need eight, her entire life is turned upside down because SHE WASN'T INFORMED...and how could they do this...don't they know how desperately her job requires continuity of personnel in other areas? NOBODY CHECKED WITH HER!
This is the kind of person I must deal with/contend with/listen to EIGHT FREAKING HOURS A DAY!
And I'm just on the border of going AUGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH ...out loud.
-
And I'm just on the border of going AUGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH ...out loud.
JUST "FEAKING" DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You'll feel much better. -And I'm sure some of your other co-workers will appreciate your "efforts" too.
-
DR JOSE I will see if I can find that link again. Not sure how it turned up to begin with, but it was something about he and Gavin Creel at the Equality Walk.

I've been asked to work on a critical edition of the 19th Century The Black Crook and I think it could be an interesting project. I have to fax my consent this afternoon. I'm still waiting to hear from Rob Berman about the Finale fixes.

Speaking of TV underscores, one of the more interesting (though brief) extras on the new BD of the McGoohan THE PRISONER release (it streets in about a week and a half) are the three different scores that were written for the show, one of them by none other than Robert Farnon (!). Really interesting to hear three radically different takes on something that must have been hard to score to begin with.
-
Speaking of other types of underscores....!

Do any of you have the eBay MC? Have you noticed how PayPal has made it mandatory that you now link your bank account to your main PayPal account if you want to pay your MC online? You used to be able to access a different pay mechanism for the credit card that didn't link your bank account to your PayPal account. I'm going to pay this balance then remove the eBay MC entirely and link another CC that I can pay separately. I do not want PayPal knowing my banking info--I've read too many horror stories about chargebacks, etc.
-
I don't SELL on Ebay -

I don't SELL on Ebay -
Neither do I, but I've heard of BUYERS having funds removed from their bank accounts without authorizing it!

What an exciting project prospect, DR elmore3003!!!!
And speaking of DR elmore3003...
I finally had a chance to listen to his work on the new LIZ CALLAWAY album, and he did an outstanding job, as usual! :)
-
I refused to sell on eBay (not that I did that much to begin with) as soon as they changed to the absurd feedback system they have now and also required you to use PayPal, which takes a little chunk o'dough everytime you sell. I've done just fine on CL when I have something to get rid of.
-
Yes DR LAURA and DR DAW - I was on top of the bladder battle yesterday. I was the boss, until about 6:30 this morning when it asserted itself and became the master again. But it was a hard fought war.
Okay, when I formulate and market my bladder-control medication, I will have the perfect commercial ready:
A man is in a boxing ring going a tough round with his bladder. The bell rings and both collapse into their corners, utterly exhausted by their battle. Voice-over indicates that this is how it is with the other aggressive medications. But with new PaxFlo, things are different--you make friends with your bladder. This is accompanied by shots of the man and his bladder happily walking together through a park, then sitting next to each other at a movie or ball game, then finally in the bedroom, where the bladder is holding up the alarm clock it just set for 7:00 am and the man giving the "OK" sign and turning over and going to sleep with a smile on his face.
I think that sounds 30 second-able, doesn't it?
-
One of my co-workers is WIRED today. Yak yak yak. Ceaseless verbal diarrhea since 8 a.m.
My last nerve has been trampled upon.
"Is Verbal Diarrhea getting you down?"
I don't have a commercial for that one yet...

It was mentioned on ATC last night. DR FJL already has a funny spoof song about it.
-
Will Lea Delaria or Vil Kilmer play The Bladder?
-
I don't hire name actors for my commercials--too difficult to work with.
-
I think it's a go, DR DtM! But please hire the choreographer from the SINGLE LADIES video.
-
No problems with PayPal, MC, or my bank - and they are connected at that account. But I know others have had problems. Probably with larger bank accounts than mine.
-
I don't hire name actors for my commercials--too difficult to work with.
Oh....I thought it was because June Allyson is no longer with us.

Aw, shucks! Thank you, all, for your kind thoughts today.
I am off to City Center; Josh Clayton, my adopted son, and I are going to put the music before the finale into full score, create a piano reduction, make fixes to it, play it over the phone to Rob Berman, our mighty MD who is involved with WHITE CHRISTMAS today, and once he's happy with it, rescore it and copy it into the parts. Josh is a great deal responsible for my being on FINIAN'S RAINBOW and he's playing the string synth for the show. He's become over the past couple of years my surrogate son and he and I are working on taking over the orchestration cartel.

It will happen DR ELMORE....

Comments on Monday's Big Bang Theory:
From WilWheatonBlog (http://wilwheaton.typepad.com/wwdnbackup/2009/10/the-creepy-candy-coating-corollary.html)
First of all, for anyone who is wondering, the show's art department made actual cards with actual graphics and rules on them, and we all spent a fair amount of time making up some logical rules to go with the Mystic Warlords of Ka'a. As far as I know, there aren't official rules or an official card set, but I'm sure someone will create one within a couple of weeks if the show doesn't. (Oh please, oh please.)
When he first talked to me about working on the show, Bill Prady told me that I'd be playing a "delightfully evil version" of myself. This sounded like a lot of fun to me, but it was more difficult to find that character than you'd think. When I'm playing Fawkes on The Guild it's easy to slip into his kilt and be a jerk, but wearing my own clothes and essentially playing a stylized version of myself made it a real challenge to hit "delightfully evil" without veering into "not committed to being delightfully evil" or "just plain evil." Keeping that twinkle in my eye, and knowing that Wil Wheaton (The Big Bang Version) is planning to scam Sheldon from the moment he sits down, was essential to this particular characterization working out, and I didn't completely find it until we'd run the episode a couple of times.
During one of the run throughs, when Jim did his Klingon bit, I turned to Kevin and asked him, "Did he just say 'revenge is a dish best served cold' in Klingon?" like I was trying to figure out if that's actually what happened, like maybe I misunderstood him. Chuck Lorre told me that it would be funnier if I was more exasperated. "You're just here to play this game, and now some guy is quoting Klingon at you. This happens everywhere you go," he said.
I sighed dramatically, and said, "Oh, it does." Everyone laughed, hard, and Chuck pointed his finger at me. "Yes. That is exactly the way to play that beat."
When Chuck gave me that note, I grokked how to play Evil Wil Wheaton (The Big Bang Theory version), and I could see the comedy in every beat I played for the rest of the show. I totally grew a level in comedy acting, and learned something about letting go of who I really am, so I could embrace the Delightfully Evil version of myself (who I seriously hope will return in the future, because OMG was it fun to play him.)

The producers would be foolish not to bring him back. It was BY FAR the best part of the show, and they can take the rivalry in so many directions.
I believe the ratings on Monday night were the highest ever for the show or certainly among the highest ever.
-
I spent most of the late morning and afternoon watching episodes of THE GUARDIAN. It's quite a well done show, very interesting cases, though the pace is a bit frantic since the Simon Baker character is balancing work in children's legal services with work at a big time law firm owned by his father.
One of the first six cases had to do with a gay teen, and, of course, it was my favorite episode of those I've watched thus far.
-
There was another one which stole an idea from a LAW & ORDER episode with a woman who's blessed with such young looks she can pass as a teenager and is doing so, trying to keep her daughter with her by claiming it's her younger sister.
-
While I ate lunch, I watched NCIS: LA. Not the most compelling of cases. Both Rocky Carroll and Pauley Perrette made guest appearances.
-
I had enough time at the end of the afternoon to skim through today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Lyle, FIsh, and Nick were all on, and I enjoyed the story. Roxie also played a hand in the day's events.
-

A question for anyone who might know and even for anyone who might not know:
A few markets around here are advertising "Carving Pumpkins" for sale this week. Is there a difference between carving pumpkins and regular pumpkins and cooking pumpkins? They all have pumpkin guts, right? Do the non-carving pumpkins have a sweeter meat?

I'm giving a final proofing to Brent's master, then have to make a very difficult decision about a track on Final Option. On the final track, there is a horribly bad edit - it was on the FSM CD and, I presume, the Varese LP. I don't own the film and so can't check if that was done for the film, but listening to the edit is painful - brief, though. My mastering guy smoothed out the edit and it's so much nicer now, but I fear if I use it some fool will say "HE RUINED THAT TRACK - where's the bad edit?"
-
Had a foot long Subway Eyetalian for lunch, and some almonds. No packages today - unbelievable. Have to have a conversation with the author of the long musical - really don't want to, but I guess I'll do it now and be done with it. I haven't really done anything but glance at the revision, some of which seems fine, and some of which remains the same, despite notes and despite things that were agreed on to be cut. I don't really care anymore - we'll do the table reading and the things that don't work that they haven't changed will continue not to work. I'll do the staged reading in February and if they're still hanging on to things that should be cut or changed then I'll walk away. The good news is that the show is now about twenty pages shorter.

As long as they aren't both having a cigarette in bed having just finished.............

What an exciting project prospect, DR elmore3003!!!!
And speaking of DR elmore3003...
I finally had a chance to listen to his work on the new LIZ CALLAWAY album, and he did an outstanding job, as usual! :)
You have an adorable son, elmore.

After listening to the bad edit several times I've decided to leave it as is - it was obviously done on purpose that way, and while my mastering guy smoothed it out so it sounded better, I just don't want to mess with it.

The orchestra parts for the new finale intro say "Orchestrated by Larry and Joshie." I got to City Center around 2:45, and Josh and I looked at the orchestra parts for what was played last night and i put them into full score so I could make a piano reduction. Josh and i then dragged out every version of "How Are Things In Glocca Morra" in the FINIAN score and decided what we wanted to do. I wrote out a sketch and Josh played it and offered his opinions on alternate choices. Around 4:00 Josh orchestrated it, and 4:30 Rob called us to see how it was going and we played it for him. I took the newly printed Full Score and the orchestra parts over to the theatre so Rob and I could go over it. By 6 I was at 42nd and 10th Avenue boarding a bus for home. I've had a tuna melt, 3-bean salad and pickled beets for dinner, and I will watch GLEE and TOP CHEF before bed. Tomorrow I'll hear how the new inttro worked and hopefully hear it tomrrow night in performance.

Who is Wil Wheaton?
Wil Wheaton is an actor, best-loved for his role as Ensign Wesley Crusher on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Wheaton was a teenager when this series was done and he was on the ship USS Enterprise with his mom, Dr. Beverly Crusher, the ship's physician. Her late husband -- Wesley's father -- had been a great friend of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the Enterprise. Wesley was a gifted lad and many of the show's best episodes were about him.
From wikipedia:
Wil Wheaton first read for the role in 1986.[citation needed]
Subsequently, in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, the character of Wesley Crusher first arrived on the Enterprise-D with his mother, soon after Captain Jean-Luc Picard assumed command. Captain Picard was annoyed by Crusher at first – as Picard is uncomfortable around all children – but he comes to realize that Crusher understands many things beyond his age and has inherited his mother's high intelligence.
An alien Traveler expressed to Captain Picard, and was also told not to tell Dr. Crusher, that Wesley had a unique intelligence and great potential if provided encouragement and opportunity, comparing him to a child prodigy like Mozart. Picard soon appointed Crusher to an acting ensign.
In early episodes of the series, Picard did not allow Crusher on the bridge of the ship. Crusher eventually took the entrance exam for Starfleet Academy. His test score ranked lower than expected, and he was not accepted into the Academy in his first attempt. ("Coming of Age"). Later he missed his second chance to take the Academy entrance exam in order to assist the Enterprise-D crew in rescuing Will Riker, Deanna Troi, and Lwaxana Troi from hostile Ferengi. Picard soon granted him a field promotion to full ensign ("Ménage à Troi").
Crusher was invited to reapply the following year, took the exam, and was accepted into the Academy where he joined an elite group of cadets known as Nova Squadron. His involvement with this group nearly led to his being expelled from the Academy ("The First Duty"), when a squadron-mate was killed attempting a dangerous and prohibited flight maneuver and, under pressure from the team leader, Nick Locarno, Crusher abetted the squadron's efforts to cover up the truth. Although the crew's intervention and the boy's own testimony saved him from expulsion, all of Cadet Crusher's academic credits for the year were cancelled and he was required to repeat the year and graduate after most of the rest of his class. He remained in the Academy thereafter until the Traveler re-contacted him, whereupon he resigned his commission and went with the Traveler to explore other planes of reality ("Journey's End").
The back story states that Wesley Crusher is the son of Beverly Crusher and Jack Crusher.
Wheaton also played a key role (alongside River Phoenix) in the movie "Stand By Me." Wheaton's character was the narrator, as well.

Last night I watched a William Castle film on TCM I had never seen before--MR SARDONICUS. I remember seeing a full page pic of the villain's face in FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND and being totally freaked out. I had no idea that this man's troubles all stemmed from his inability to just relax and chill.
we watched that as well - I was suprised and annoyed by the man who "counted the vote" but Vixdad said it was common and very popular practice in English movies of the time

I was in Costco today and saw several Plasma Televisions for under $1000. Some in the $700. I know that Plasma Televisions are being discontinued, but at that price its almost to hard to pass up.
Should I consider them or buy and LCD or LED?

They have some kind of animation. In the forest sequence it looks like tree trunks, Inside the dwarves' house it looks like the walls have been extended.
I don't agree with this because it alters the original concept. Trying to make a 4:3 widescreen.

I got a plasma a year and a half ago, but it was a display model, had no stand and I also got a coupon that expired on that day, so I lucked out and got a $1400 or $1500 model for only $800. But, if you don't know (and I didn't at the time), an LCD used about 45% or so more energy as a comperable CRT TV, but a plasma can use as much as THREE TIMES the amount of electricity!! And you can't lay it down flat, or it'll be ruined...even with the power off. Well, that's what I've read/heard. I didn't test it.

Good Evening! Well...
I headed down earlier to Jazz at Lincoln Center to attend a orchestra concert. A friend of mine was called to play with the orchestra last week - it's sort of a "pick up" group, and since they had comps for tonight's concert, well...
When I got there at 6:45pm, the "Will Call" line was about 80 people deep. The concert was scheduled to start at 7:00pm. I get up to the desk/table, give them the name that the tickets were held under... "I'm sorry, we don't have them here, but if you wait over there, we will be handing out the remaining tickets shortly." It was already 7:05pm, and there were about 60 people "over there".
I texted my friend about the delay, and he texted back saying the stage manager had informed them that they would be starting the concert a few minutes late. When 7:15 rolled around, I called him and told him that I really wasn't in the mood to wait any longer and would probably just head home. And once 7:20 rolled around -and once I saw that the staff was starting to write out location passes for everyone who was still waiting for tickets, well...
Buh-bye.
-
I'm giving a final proofing to Brent's master, then have to make a very difficult decision about a track on Final Option.
If the original edit was obviously a bad edit, I say use the new one...but that's just me. :-\

So...
I decided to walk up Broadway for a bit since it was such a nice night outside.
I stopped into a small cafe to pick up a bite to eat. I noticed they had a cookie priced at "$9.75". -Is this correct? Just what is in this cookie? I also noticed that their pre-made sandwiches and salads were 1/2-price after 8:00, and since it was after 8:00, well... Of course, as I was leaving, I realized that I had been overcharged for my 1/2-priced sandwich. It was just by 50 cents, but still...
Then I wanted to stop into a Starbucks for a cookie and a coffee... One barista working the counter and the machines... Moving on...
Then I stopped into another location a few blocks later... Ten people in line... And, again, one barista/clerk...
Well, I guess I could just stop into the Dunkin' Donuts right by my apartment... One clerk working the register, making the coffees and prepping the hot foods... While two other clerks chatted in the back...
Nevermind
I didn't really leave my apartment today until around 6:15. I guess I was meant to stay in today.
-
And now "Glee".... :)
*FYI: Matthew Morrison started off as a dancer (modern and jazz).

Depends on the size of screen you want and the resolution of the image you'd be content with.

I don't dislike it because it does NOT alter the original animation at all. The 4:3 is still 4:3; it's the sides that have some color instead of black. I prefer black, but others don't seem to like black bars anywhere. People with new plasma sets might have to worry about potential burn-in and would use those side bars to prevent it. (And even if burn-in is a myth, they offer peace of mind.)
I find the side bar illustrations distracting because they remain stationary even when the image is moving. In a darkened room, I don't even notice black bars, but I sure as hell notice stationary side colored bars.

I ended up watching 11 episodes of THE GUARDIAN today. SOme of the acting was poor in supporting roles and some of the plots get resolved rather abruptly. Still, it's an enjoyable show so far. I'll be curious to see how the second half of the season goes.

I skimmed through today's ATWT. Nothing of interest and nothing in the previews for tomorrow either.

GLEE was simply wonderful. It was a great showcase episode for Matthew Morrison, and Puck got to have a solo finally which I enjoyed.

It's getting close to 10:25; I wonder how the new finale underscore is going tonight?

Another day of 20 degrees below normal temps and rain. Tonight and tomorrow rain and snow showers.....I won't say it....but.... ;)

I enjoyed Glee tonight.
-
Oh!... It just keeps getting better(?)....
My friend just called me about the concert he played tonight. First of all, the concert ended up starting about 40 minutes late, and the house staff eventually just ended up letting everyone who was still waiting to get into the hall without tickets in hand. -Which is probably what the should have done in the first place since most everyone was being comped.
It also turned out that their was a change in order of the pieces for tonight's concert. Of course, he didn't realize that until he was backstage and started hearing some "familiar" music. -And he had even checked with one of the stage managers beforehand to double-check the order for tonight's concert! Thankfully, he was able to sneak on stage and join the piece about a minute or two into it.
YIKES! and WHEW!
-
I am off to City Center; Josh Clayton, my adopted son, and I are going to put the music before the finale into full score, create a piano reduction, make fixes to it, play it over the phone to Rob Berman, our mighty MD who is involved with WHITE CHRISTMAS today, and once he's happy with it, rescore it and copy it into the parts. Josh is a great deal responsible for my being on FINIAN'S RAINBOW and he's playing the string synth for the show. I am sorry that your evening turned out so badly Jose
Thank You, DR vixmom. It wasn't a bad evening, just an annoying one. -And at least I didn't "miss an entrance" like my friend did. ;)
-
Back from delivering a big box o' CDs to the local dealer. I don't know if I'll watch anything or not - just not really in the mood. I AM in the mood to eat something, but I had that damn big sandwich earlier and didn't jog, so maybe not.
-
And we're using the cleaned up edit - it just sounds better and that's that.

Does anybody here know why Mia Michaels has left SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?
She's my favorite choreographer on the show. ANd it just seems so sudden. Apparently the vegas shows were her last.
I'm especially surprised because she's been a judge on SYTYCD canada (as recently as last week). And she's choreographed numbers (last week) and i believe on sunday's finale.
I wonder if she had some kind of contractual disagreement.
-
Well, the finale underscore had a problem with one player or a section - Josh was uncertain what the hell happened - miscounting and screwing it up. Tomorrow it will be lovely. The producers want to freeze the show on Friday, so I hope the cue goes well tomorrow night. I'm sure none of the producers was amused by the surprising dissonances at a touching moment.

I think she just wants to do more of her own work, and not be restricted to choreographing in 2-4 minute segments. A friend of mine works for a dance studio that she teaches at here in NYC, and he's noticed that she's scheduled to teach more classes and workshops this season. She may be leaving the show, but she's not leaving the business. It simply may have been time for her to leave the show and move on to something new. -And she did express that this past season was not one of her favorites, with not choreographing as often as she used to as one of her "complaints".

Am I sensing a 7:00pm call for the orchestra?

...And by not staying around for the concert, I was able to get home in time to watch "Glee" and "Top Chef: Las Vegas" live. Not a bad evening at all.

Thanks. It just seems weird that she would quit after doing all the auditions and choosing the cast. Why quit midseason?
It seems like she is just quitting the US version since she is gonna be on the finale in canada on sunday (and choreographing a routine).
It just seems odd to me, since she could just do a few routines in the US version if she was busy with other stuff.
Maybe she was unhappy with the top 20?

I have a feeling that she'll be back as a guest judge or guest choreographer.
And she was probably still contracted to finish out the Canadian version.
*However, I would LOVE to hear that the reason she left was the "elevation of Tyce" that seems to be going on. If there's anyone who should not be on that show, it's him.

Or maybe she wanted the permanent judge spot that adam shankman got?
I don't mind tyce.
I don't think she is planning on being back on the US version this season, otherwise why would she say she was gone?
I love it when the US judges come on the Canadian version since i dislike most of the canadian judges. Our head judge is jean-marc (who has been on the US show). And we also have blake (who was a former contestant on the first or second season of the US show). But thankfully most weeks we've had mia or mary murphy or dan!

Well... I'll be back in my "Classical Mode" tomorrow for a few hours playing for some voice lessons. Hopefully, I won't have to play any of the "24". ;)
Goodnight.

Finally caught up, and now I'm alone in the room

Except for one guest

My workplace has been blasting the radio the whole day and I am damn sick of it. How can I get these kids to give the ol' Great American Songbook a chance?
-
This afternoon I rode on a train, and this is what I saw:
-
I went to Jerry's and had some bacon and eggs - there are days when one meal just doesn't do it, especially after five days in a row of the long jog - so I had to splurge today. Tomorrow, I'll be back at the long jog and then just have my pasta papa and be done with it, and no Caesar Salad.
-
I can't believe it. i am actually enjoying GLEE tonight!
Nice! I have to record it. I'm going to see Nunsense (http://www.capitalplayhouse.com/), tonight...actually, I'm going there now.
Until later!
Nunsense (http://www.capitalplayhouse.com/) tonight was quite good and a lot of fun! The audience was quite full (they only have about 120 seats) and they got a deserved standing "o".
-
GLEE was simply wonderful. It was a great showcase episode for Matthew Morrison, and Puck got to have a solo finally which I enjoyed.
I really enjoyed it, too. I'm glad they didn't show much (any?) of Matthew Morrison's wife. ::)
