SUGAR was just dropped off at my mailbox. I will listen to both discs while I'm washing/scraping/sanding my bay window today.
Larry - I've never met him or her, at least not at the ATC parties
Thank heavens there will always be Social Security.
for the first time in years I'm feeling excited and happy about the direction my church is taking
Jane - I finished The Thirteenth Tale- I would recommend it for your book discussion group - in fact I wish I belonged to a group with whom I could discuss this book
By the way, that birthday card above pictures the exact way I was required to greet DR Elmore when I was staying at his apartment last NY visit.
And he never even bothered to read the damn newspaper!

Just about what I think every time Sugar is mentioned. :)
Good Afternoon!
And my shower is still drip-drip-dripping... At least the landlord pays the water bill.

i don't.
Ok, crazy day has begun. Vibes would be appreciated....I need a vacation
Anybody gonna watch any of the new or returning show premieres tonight?
I heard that The Event and Lone Star are supposed to be quite good. So i will give them each a chance (although The Event is gonna repeat on Saturday night which is when i'm gonna record it).
Tonight is the premiere of Chuck, Dancing With the Stars, House, Castle, Hawaii Five-O...
I don't remember who had the obsession with hotel carpeting, but I was at the Hyatt in Burlingame on Saturday and just knew I had to take a picture of the carpet for HHW.. Here it is!!!
And here it is preserved for time and all eternity!! ;D

And Sammy just knocked on my door to inform me that he's going to start the repair in a bit... Which means he'll have to turn off the water to the building... Take out the defective valve... Go up to the Bronx to get the new valve... Come back and replace the valve... Then turn the water back on. ??? ??? ???
Needless to say, I don't want to be here for any of it.
Laters...
Had me some "sugar" this afternoon and forgot what a joy it could be.
I went shopping for a new TV yesterday (I thought it was time to replace my 26" console TV). I didn't buy a TV but I bought a TV stand.

BRAINEX Indiana Style earned 14 Encore Nominations.......and that may go up to 16, I can't imagine that Scott, the Director, and the choreographer, and maybe the lighting designer will also get nominations (announced at the awards dinner).....
Two of the numbers "Brain Tap" and "I Need an Earthman" were nominated in the Best Musical Number category.
Full list here......you can scroll down to MUSICALS to see them all.

KevinH, I have discovered that, most of the time, watching a television is more interesting than watching a TV stand.
George, have you ever been to Pepper's Mexican Restaurant in Olympia?

I'm looking forward to the return of Castle. I've set Hawaii 5-0 to record. The reviews seemed good but the preview we saw isn't as promising. It looks a bit like Miami Vice. We are also recording Chase. The Event looks intriguing. In the past I've had trouble staying with this kind of show. I might set it to record and decide later.

I don't think that I have. Have you? I've heard of it, though.

On Friday, Jason Ritter (who will be in "The Event") was on Jimmy Fallon's talk show and Jason said that the writer(s?) of "The Event" essentially wrote out the entire show. They won't be writing it as they go along and they know what is going to happen through the entire series and how it's going to end. And that it'll only last five years. That's how they sold it to the network. It sounds like a great idea!
How did the audit turn out, Cilla?

No, they just added it to my Passport Card, so I can now buy one entree and get the second one free. We should go sometime.

Even if it doesn't, not sure I want to wait five years to find out what the event is.
I'm not sure the TV Academy has On The Flip Side - I do, however, and have been thinking about such an endeavor.

I spent an hour with a prospective immigration client today. We discussed how we would proceed in trying again after the consulate in Vietnam denied his wife's visa. At the end he was shocked that I gave no guarantee that this time she would be granted the visa, asked me to give him all the money back he had just given me and left. I have no problem with this, but how can people expect to get a guarantee about what a government official will do? especially after a denial. Sheesh!

Test results are back. Will go into detail sometime soon. Nothing that can't be controlled with a new diet and/or meds. On the truly positive side, my lungs are crystal clear and my weight is excellent. . . ;D

I hope DR TCB's tests turn out equally well.

I hope he doesn't get swindled by another lawyer who gives a verbal guarantee and nothing else.

Back from a good day at the Academy of Arts and Letters! From 12-2pm we recorded a couple of piano solos, took a break and toured the Academy, saw Steve Sondheim's photo in the gallery, also Victor Herbert's (1908), Edward MacDowell's, and others. Then at 3 we recorded 4 piano & cello duets. I have a ton of mail so I will go to bed and open all my packages. I forgot to mention that I got some wonderful gifts yesterday.

How was it?
DR Cillaliz did you watch Dancing With The Stars?
I think my favs were kyle and lacey. And Derek and Jennifer.
I thought Florence and Corky were funny. And I think they were too hard on Audrina. And way too easy on Bristol (who I thought was the worst). Even though I'm not a fan, I think they were also too hard on The Situation.
LOL, John! Eww.Very different from your photos.
Did parents actually name their baby boy the Situation?
I'm feeling much better this evening.That's good to hear.
DR Cillaliz - B-r-e-a-t-h-e.... Inhale Pink... Exhale Blue... Inhale Pink... Exhale Blue... :)
-And then you'll find that pesky $5.21. ;)
DR vixmom - So... Before you leave your doctor's office, PLEASE get a note from him/her stating that you can only work, at most, a 10 hours a day. Preferably a standard 8. PLEASE! Otherwise...
~~~~~GOOD FOLLOW-UP TEST VIBES TO YOU~~~~~
We are back from a fun afternoon and evening at EPCOT. We got there about 1:15 and did a lot of the rides and attractions up front before finding our way to the Beach resort hotel to meet our friends at the Cape May Restaurant for dinner. It was a fantastic seafood buffet. After dinner, they walked us to a boat dock where we embarked back to the park to walk around the World Showcase and find a good place to watch the fabulous fireworks show over the lagoon. We just skimmed the international pavilions and agreed that someday we'd like to come back and do those in detail.
And if I could ask for some Vibes of Comfort and Condolence for my friend, Andy. When I got home tonight, I got this email from him:
"We put copper down tonite. He had a very large mass in his abdomen which was causing him to bleed internally. The only way that I can look at is that he had 4 very good years, which might not have been available to him had I not adopted him."
Copper was a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and due to Andy's current living situation, truly the only friend and companion he had. I'm not a "dog person", but I know how much Andy loved Copper, and I just feel bad that I can't be there right now to give him a hug.
DR Matthew - I hope you had a wonderful first rehearsal of Sunset Boulevard.
*Btw, what is the official title: Sunset Blvd. or Sunset Boulevard?
tomorrow I havea dr appointment before work - my 6 month oncology checkup -- I am feeling well and am sure of a positive report
but I sure wouldn't reject any vibes anyone might care to send
A package will be on it's way to George today ;)
How was it?
I think it's going to be interesting. They do a huge book sale every April (literally thousands of books). Apparently there are already so many books collected that we are almost out of storage! It's their major project of the year and I went back several times last year and came home with boxes and boxes of books. It was great fun
