Morning, everyone!
TOD: I guess I'm in full-fledged Alfred Uhry mode for this one -
Driving Miss Daisy
Last Night of Ballyhoo (major bias on this one: a dear friend was in the Broadway production)
Parade

My goddaughter's godmother Celia Weston was in this! She has a monopoly on southern roles.
Yes DR GINNY - but some folks jus' doan haf no manners.
DR RLP - how could I forget TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD?
One negative to this move is that it has interrupted my reading. I had begun two books...DR Druxy's book and an old dime store mystery novel...and I have not been able to finish either one yet...but soon, I hope, as both books are excellent!I got tired looking at the photo of your organized shelves. Spend more time reading, less time cleaning. It's healthier.

Too obvious a choice, perhaps?
TAR result was fine with me.....but I am beginning to be annoyed by one team in a major way....I hate seeing their idiot faces.
RE: last night's TAR
SPOILERS
THE AMAZING RACETAR result was fine with me.....but I am beginning to be annoyed by one team in a major way....I hate seeing their idiot faces.
Which team is annoying you? There are 2 teams that are annoying me. One are the motorcycle couple (who went to the fast forward). They seem physically competent. But mentally incompetent! And the couple chad and stephanie. He gets on my nerves. He is happy when they do well. But annoying as all heck when they do poorly. And she is whiny always saying that she can't do something.
Btw, I am not that happy with the results mostly because i didn't find it a fair leg. The last couple was behind 2 1/2 hours (probably 1/2 from team closest to them). There were really so few ways to catch up. I don't think that the last placed team made any mistakes. But there was no way for them to catch up. That bugged me. I don't care that there wasn't bunching at the irport (not a big fan of th is). But there have to be some ways for the last team to catch up.

I hope you don't get these books confused.
Mine is the one without the murder in it.

Maybe he just overlooked my mention of it!
Strange week ahead, culminating in my unemployment-insurance hearing on Friday afternoon, where i had won on the first level but the ex-boss is appealing.
BK, isn't it a wonderful feeling to get all that stuff organized!
I am in a constant state of organization, it seems, but moving has given me a chance to get a lot more of it done.
Back from a little lunch at the Studio Cafe - just one of their scrambles and a bagel. It's VERY windy here, and a huge portion of a huge tree came off just up the street from me.

I believe that makes you the first ever publicist who didn't want to at least try to kill one of your clients.
Good morning, all! I slept well, and I have a lot of typing today; my next job as General Factotum for this Herbert recording project is to provide for the print work all of the lyrics for the songs. I will begin with the lieder since they entail both the German text and an English translation.

TAR spoilage:
Who are the bikers?
I like the father and daughter team and the Shop At home hosts. They are my faves.
I also like Vicki, the pierced girl, but I don't like her boyfriend.
Back to Southern Food for a sec...
There is one Southern food which, as much as I've tried to like, I just can't seem to add them to my "must have" list: ham biscuits. Rather, the ham in those biscuits, which is traditionally the Smithfield type. It's just too salty and practically "briny" to me. Smithfield ham, by itself, always tastes slightly off to me - it has a seafood-y finish to it, at least to my tastebuds. Now maybe I've just never had a Smithfield ham properly prepared - maybe no one has ever soaked it long enough to draw out "enough" of the salt that is used to cure it - but since I lived in Richmond for a number of years, well... However, I do like when Smithfield ham is used as a seasoning for beans, cabbage and greens.

OMG, George, you've never seen To Kill A Mockingbird? You must remedy that. It's a wonderful movie.
Other than that....ditto for TOD
Druxy's book arrived today. Mucho thanks, Mr. D!
And the winner of Best Musical for the Encore Awards in Indianapolis - The Brain From Planet X!
I never thought of deviled eggs as a particularly Southern dish.
Oh, and DR Ben, I enjoyed your wit the other day regarding shin guards and helmets being needed at Trader Joe's. Yes, some TJ's get very crowded indeed!
I finally called the police tonight to report the trash pickers that are constantly in the trash on my block.
This time they pushed me over the edge (poop and toilet paper in the palm tree where I park) they went too far. From what the locals tell me is that they drive in from out of town and go through all the neighborhoods on a daily basis. The guy two blocks over shoots golf balls down his alley when he hears them. And the block on the other side, there have been fist fights between the tenants and the transients.
Oh to live at the beach.

I used to work with a woman who retired a few years ago and she received a Smithfield ham as a gift. She brought it to a work potluck but didn't realize/know that they were supposed to be soaked. I'd heard that it was much, much, much (that's three muches) too salty to eat and a lot was left over, which is quite unusual for our potlucks.
