Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both veal and Oscar, and now it is time for you to post until the award-winning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REVANCHIST!
-
Sunday morning greetings! For the second week in a row, I'm not on my way to Lima. Fr. Richard is flying solo today, because Mary Linda and I had plans to attend a bridal fair. However, because her car broke down on her way here Friday night, she has to catch a bus in Dayton to get home today. Rob is attending his second day of fire engine driving class all day, so I will take ML to the bus stop.
-
Good morning, all.
-
BK, my "GWTW" arrived. It was delayed because it had been delivered to the wrong house and it took a day to get here. So that's the post office's problem, nothing on your end of the deal. Can't wait to play it later today.
-
Good morning. It is beautifully soggy outside.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
And the word of the day is: REVANCHIST!
And The Song Of The Day Is: I WANNA BE AROUND (TO PICK UP THE PIECES)
-
I think I am more excited for the Red Carpet tonight than I am for the actual show! I am not sure if I will get to post here during the show (maybe part way). But I'm sure there will be lots of lovely posts!
-
Ha, what is not good for a sore shoulder: Lying in bed with one kid sleeping on me, while trying to rub my other niece's hair!
-
Good morning, all! Last night I had two weird dreams: the first about my sophomore roommate Larry Dlan, whom I've not seen since 1966 or so. He was a good guy from Hamilton, OH, but I haven't thought of him in years. The second one was bout a huge weekend outside Manhattan at the estate of a friend who'd become wealthy through catering. All I remember now is trying to leave to catcvh a train and being unable to find my cap.
I have no energy today. I slept two hours later than I intended, and I've decided to postpone the laundry until tomorrow morning. I've got some work here on the Herbert shows I can do for a bit. Then I may go back to bed and watch some DVDs.
-
Dream-O-Matic 6000 is out for repair, so there will be a delay in interpretations today.
-
Thanks to DR ELMORE for his kind comments on our play.
If we bring a little joy into your humdrum lives, then all of our hard work ain't been in vain for nothin'.
-
I am hoping I win the Oscar tonight for NEVER TOO LATE - I was disappointed to not win the Golden Globe OR the SAG Award, but then the Oscar is the one that counts!
-
Kenny and I may be in THE MUSIC MAN together - and there is always DON'T DRINK THE WATER, but I don't think there's much interaction for characters of our ages in either show. Time will tell.
-
SISTER KENNY is one long slug of a movie.
Do you think Rosalind Russell never won an Oscar because a lot of people in Hollywood just didn't like her personally? Or was it because she was not affiliated with one particular studio?
-
Brad Oscar is doing the Addams Family on Broadway. Do they perform tonight?
-
Listen to Gone With The Wind last night.
Memory was not kind to this show for me.
Sadly I did not enjoy listening to it. (I did give it two tries.)
-
Brad Oscar is doing the Addams Family on Broadway. Do they perform tonight?
No. They perform a matinee at 3, as do most Broadway shows on Sunday.

Hi all! I've have my contacts in and can't begin to tell you how good it is to be able to see! I never realized how horrible glasses are. Ugh. I am so spoiled by the total range of vision the contacts give me that I could never go back to just glasses.
I do think I will take them out early in the evening so I don't put any kind of strain on my eyes. We'll see how the day goes.
I'm still pretty black and blue but hey, think of the eye shadow I'm saving. :) At least my face isn't so sore.
After speaking with Thelma last night, I think I might know exactly what happened. I was sitting at the computer and my leg may have been asleep but I didn't realize it. When I got up, it just gave out and sent me on a tumble. I was a little worried as to the why it happened because I didn't think I tripped on anything.
I need to go make a cup of coffee. Be back!
-
We had a glorious rain here last night. Most of it was in the middle of the night, so I didn't get to really enjoy it happening. Although the sun is shining brightly at the moment, I'm hoping we'll get more rain.
-
Humm, I went to make coffee and not post since then. This will not do!
-
Oh, sorry DR Kerry, you must have posted the same time I was writing my last post!
-
They are predicting thunderstorms for us beginning about midnight, which should be sometime in the middle of the Oscar Telecast.
-
So tonight is the Oscars. I don't even know who is up. I've seen all of commercials with Ann Hathoway (and I thought a couple of them were funny) but other then that, I don't care for award shows. The one who deserves to win almost never does. I may watch the red carpet part to see the dresses.
-
How are gas prices where you all are? I paid $3.09 on Tuesday and haven't been out since my trip to the ER. I saw on the news it's up to about $3.335.
All I can say is thank goodness I ride the bus to work!

My friends from Vegas are up here this weekend for her mother's memorial service and the internment of the mother's ashes in the columbarium next to her father. Last night I got a call from the husband telling me that his wife, my friend, won't be at the service because she was rushed to a local hospital here in town.
-
My brother gave me back a computer that I gave him. I am going to donate it to theater for the costumes and props department who need one - and anyone else who wants to use it.
unfortunately, my brother did not give me the password.....so I had to call him. No answer. I am glad I checked it out before I took it to the theatre next week.

Still doing it.

What have I done?

I assume it is something to do with my Profile, but I haven't changed anything there.

I don't think I will be watching the Oscars tonight. I do enjoy watching, but have a lot of things to get done today, and taking time out to view such a long show will likey not be one of them.
-
The point is not watching the Oscars - the point is BEING HERE FOR THE FUN.
-
I got about nine hours of sleep, so that's good. Sent out my eBlast for the Gardenia show and will now see if anything is up on iDisk.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
We're talkin' about camaraderie, we're talkin' about fun, and all you curmudgeonly fuddy-duddys need to get off your ASSES and join in.
-
Wow, some partay this is going to be - I'm the only one on the damn board.
-
From DR TCB:
Well, I am not a guest, but I was here.
Sorry. I didn't see your name next to mine.
-
Ha, what is not good for a sore shoulder: Lying in bed with one kid sleeping on me, while trying to rub my other niece's hair!
;D
Try a dog who likes to crash down into your shoulder while you are sleeping. If only Sherlock understood to be more gentle when he is being affectionate. I was more annoyed this morning that he woke me up on the first morning I slept past 5:30.
-
Boy! Did Susan Hayward have any other setting on her dial besides I N T E N S E
-
I finished listening to GWTW.
No show-stoppers, but there were 2-3 tunes in the score that I really liked.

I'm glad you figured out what happened. I'm sure not knowing was upsetting. I'm glad you won't keep your contacts in all day. You don't want to irritate your eye. I wish I was as successful wearing contacts as you are. Even the soft ones bother me.
-
How are gas prices where you all are? I paid $3.09 on Tuesday and haven't been out since my trip to the ER. I saw on the news it's up to about $3.335.
I can't be sure because this is our third day in a row staying home. Keith is currently chipping away at ice on the road to increase our chances of getting home if we go out tomorrow. I have a PT appointment in the afternoon I don't want to miss.
I'm guessing our gas prices are between $3.50 & $3.60 making your prices look good.

The doctors think she will be in the hospital for two to three days. She was vomiting up blood yesterday, but they don't know what was causing it. The memorial service will go on without her, but the internment will be postponed until she can be there

I paid $3.50 per gallon this morning.

Ants. First time ever in this house. Coming from the drain in the shower (took me fifteen minutes to locate the point of entrance). I have bug sprayed down that drain and will continue to do so - thankfully, it hadn't gotten bad yet, just a few ants who are now no longer with us. I'm getting more bug spray right now and if it continues, then I'll have professionals come.
-
:P I hope they don't return. At least the aunts in California are smalled compared to the ones that invaded our Massachusetts home.

Not I. I will likely read the early posts and then leave. I'm not even going to record the show this year.

Who is planning on joining us for Oscar Bash?
Oh my God! Us? When did I become the co-owner of this site?

Yes, great clip, Jane.

Mary Linda and I were about halfway to the bus stop when Rob called to say his class was over and he'd meet us there. She was all checked in with more than hour until departure, so I left the two of them to wait and I got home just as Fr. Richard was arriving from Lima. I had some leftover Chinese food for lunch and read the Sunday papers. Maybe a nap before the Oscars...

Yes, DR Jane, it was convenient. I'm sure ML would rather spend an hour with Rob than with me. My route home took me past the entrance to the library where I used to work. It was about 2 minutes to opening and there must have been 50-75 bottom feeders crowded around the door :P

I don't think we have ever had rules for this game.

You're welcome to it, DR FJL - use it in good health!

Off to see about that nap. I'll be back in time for the Oscar bash...

Cleaning house this afternoon. Dull. I could be doing something useful, but I think the house really needs it.

I will join the party later.

I still hate that the show is so much about the hosts who feel compelled to DO something that goes on and on - when we want to see the awards.
And word is that most of the presenters, etc, are going to be the cream of the crop of the latest and greatest shimmering glowing stars in the cinema firmament.

Ok, I better get ready. I'm supposed to be there at 5:00 and it's almost 4:15 here. Julie is making a pot roast with potatoes and carrots...sounds really good.

I can help get to page 6, though
-
We're getting closer
-
And closer
-
Just read coffee prices are going up too
-
I am watching one of the most insufferably bad movies I've ever seen - Flipped, written (based on a novel) and directed by Rob Reiner, who has completely lost whatever little talent he had. We sent him the Kritzer books which, if you must know, we think he never even bothered to read - this film is about a young romance but is so annoying on every level that I'm thrilled he didn't get his mitts on my books because he would have emphasized every wrong thing you could.
-
Good grief
-
Guess we'll all just have to stay home and sleep
-
And he got what he deserved - maybe the lowest grossing major studio film in the last two decades - a teeny bit over one million dollars, which means they really grossed about 600K.
-
I did a little Jacuzzi visit because this is the first day that hasn't been too cold to do so.
-
Page 6, my job is done here....for now
-
Guess we'll all just have to stay home and sleep
This was in reference to high gas and coffee prices, not Rob Reiner's film
-
Welcome six GUESTS - stick around for the fun.

The red carpet begins when???

Okay, here's our new release for those who want a jump on what I'm pretty sure will be a sellout. You know the drill - it's 19.98 plus 3.75 shipping (23.73) paid via paypal to kritzerland at adelphia dot net.
Kritzerland is proud to present a new world premiere limited edition soundtrack:
ORDEAL BY INNOCENCE – The Lost Score
Music Composed by Pino Donaggio
In the 1970s and 1980s, there were several big-screen all-star adaptations of Agatha Christie’s books, starting with the huge success of Murder On The Orient Express, followed by Death On The Nile, The Mirror Crack’d, and Evil Under The Sun. 1985s Ordeal By Innocence was at the tail end of that particular cycle and was based on Christie’s 1958 book, one of her darker tales – it was also one of her favorites of that period. The film version, made by Cannon, assembled a top-notch cast including Donald Sutherland, Faye Dunaway, Christopher Plummer, Sarah Miles, Ian McShane, and Diana Quick. In the director’s chair was Desmond Davis, who’d made the quirky 1960s films, Girl With Green Eyes and Smashing Time, as well as the 1981 version of Clash Of The Titans. Engaged to write the score was the wonderful Italian composer, Pino Donaggio, who by that time had made a huge name for himself turning out superior scores for such films as Don’t Look Now, Carrie, Dressed To Kill, The Fan, Blow Out, Body Double, and many others.
Donaggio provided his usual lush, beautiful, suspenseful music, the kind he was so adept at, and his score was fantastic. All should have been well in Christieland, but after Donaggio turned in his score, the film went through major revisions, with a lot of re-editing and some new footage. At that point, the film required rescoring, but Donaggio was already working on another project and was not available. To replace the score, they turned not to a well-known film composer or even a not-well-known film composer – they turned to jazz legend Dave Brubeck. Using existing Brubeck music, newly recorded for the film. Brubeck’s music is terrific on its own – classic Brubeck all the way. Unfortunately, it isn’t movie music and it’s mostly at odds with the visuals and mood of the film.
One can take the position that the film might have had a different fate with the Donaggio score. Or not. It’s really hard to know. What we do know is that the score is top-of-the-line Donaggio. At times reminiscent of his work for De Palma (especially Dressed To Kill), it’s all swirling strings and lush melodies and tension-filled passages, all very symphonic. No one did or does this sort of thing better than Donaggio. There was a short seventeen-minute suite used on a Pino Donaggio compilation, but this is the world premiere release of the entire score – every note written for the film, along with a suite of alternate cues. For anyone who loves Donaggio or who loves classic film scoring, this CD will, I hope, be very pleasing.
This CD was assembled and mastered from the first generation two-track mixed music masters direct from Italy and the sound is phenomenal.
This release is limited to 1000 copies only. The price of the CD is $19.98, plus shipping. Additionally, we are offering a special deal with the purchase of this release. Go to the item page and click on the link to find out about it.
CD will ship the second week of April – however, preorders placed directly through Kritzerland usually ship one to five weeks earlier (we’ve been averaging four weeks early). To place an order, see the cover, or hear audio samples, just visit www.kritzerland.com.

I think the Red Carpet begins in about 10 minutes on E!
-
I just finished watching CHARIOTS OF FIRE.
A great film!
-
Now, I'm going to take out the trash before the festivities start.
-
And I don't think I'm the only one kvetching about gas prices.
Indeed you are not - and your campaign to discourage gas consumption will help ease the upward pressure being exerted by the Middle East brouhaha.

Ordered.
I hate these people doing Fashion on E! right now.
Kelly Osborne? And Guilianna is so homely......well we shall see what we shall see.
I think Ryan Seacrest will doing the co hosting honors once the coverage starts! In about five minutes.

I wonder if Sally Kirkland will show up again this year?

A fb friend just posted this great joke: A CEO, union member, and a Tea party member are all siting in a conference room with a plate of a dozen cookies on it. The Ceo reaches over and takes eleven cookies and says to the Tea-party person, "Watch out for the union guy, he'll try to take a piece of your cookie."
-
Jennifer Lawrence looks nice but she needs a ber-zeer.
-
I hoping THE KING'S SPEECH wins everything it's up for. If Colin Firth doesn't win Best Actor, I'm never watching the Oscars again.
-
Step away from the spray tan booth, Guilianna, and eat a sandwich.

Duke Snider has passed away:
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/So-long-Duke-Snider-Brooklyn-Dodgers-great-die?urn=mlb-327021
Was lucky enough to see Duke and all the great Brooklyn greats play many times at Crosley Field against the Cincy Reds.
You were. You must have been very young if you saw the Brooklyn Dodgers play. I must have been 9 1/2 when I went to my first Dodger game. L.A. Dodgers of course.
-
Enough with the recaps.
-
Josh from the KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT - looks all right....but he is shorter than Ryan....must be a midget. Or Ryan is standing on his box again this year.
-
Glad I happened to check in. I would have missed the start of show.
-
Cheryl Hines wearing a dress that doesn't fit.....too loose on top....too tight on the bottom....Whew!
-
Of course, when I tune in it's all commercials.
-
Melissa Leo's collar is out of control....
-
Mina Kulas' dress makes her look like she has tattoos on her....uh....tops

Mina Kulas' dress makes her look like she has tattoos on her....uh....tops
I thought it was tattoos....
-
Armie Hammer looking nice as well....looks like bow ties may take the evening so far.
-
Seven minutes of program......five minutes of commercials
-
"Want to give me a kiss, ducky?"
-
So, they're already arriving and this goes on for two hours now?
-
"No....you see, I knew he vas guilty!"
-
I hoping THE KING'S SPEECH wins everything it's up for. If Colin Firth doesn't win Best Actor, I'm never watching the Oscars again.
Have you watched all the best actor's nominated? This is the one movie I'm sorry not to have seen yet.
-
So, they're already arriving and this goes on for two hours now?
about an hour of arriving and an hour of commercials
Then 1/2 hour of arrival footage on ABC and the awards start at 8:30.....or I guess 5:30 on the left coast.

No...I'm just very old...
LOL you are younger than I am.
-
I have seen MORE of the nominees this year than I have in a LONG time.....
-
Maybe there will be fewer commercials as the stars begin to arrive in a herd......MAYBE
-
I am thinking Leo and Bening may split the vote making way for Haile.
-
Awwwww.....Hailee looks so sweet. Nice hair and nice dress.
-
Old Hippie Alert
-
Who is Michelle Williams holding hands with?
-
Mila....hmmmmmmmmmm
-
Somebody jump in.
-
Commercials .... time for a ham sandwich.
-
I broke down I started recording. My tv is nowhere near my computer. I'm still searching for photos of the red carpet. Without them I have no reference to the comments, heck I don't even know who some of the people mentioned are.
-
Pretty Amy.
-
;D
-
Michelle had NOTHING to say....nice dress.....lots of sparkles on the gals this year. And lots of shadow bodices.
-
LOL you are younger than I am.
No, Jane, you are NOT as old as you feel.
der Brucer

Amy Adams - hair need some work.

Just the little I've been watching I keep seeing red dresses.

No, Jane, you are NOT as old as you feel.

:D
-
Russell Brand. Never heard of him.
-
Just the little I've been watching I keep seeing red dresses.
While searching for photos of the red carpet I read red is THE color.
-
Instead of doing a google search I should simply have gone to my yahoo page.
-
Yes I guess RED will rule this year.
-
Okay, do the people doing the interview all have to attend Stupid School?
-
Of course, the celebs aren't much better.
-
I can't decide if I want to miss the Amazing Race to see the first 1/2 hour of the Oscars.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Where are the Kardashians? They are the BIGGEST See-lebrities in the WORLD!
-
I shall miss no minutes of the broadcast, no matter how awful. As Tevya says, it's Tradition.
-
Commercials commercials commercials
-
Hailee Steinfeld looks sweet.
-
Mark Ruffalo's wife Sunrise has the first truly ugly dress of the night.
-
Russell Brand. Never heard of him.
Very clever British comic. Will soon be seen in the remake of Arthur with Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner.
der Brucer
-
Jennifer Hudson's dress makes her top look DEE-formed.
-
Geoffrey Rush looks SO old.
And Cate Blanchette is wearing a MISTAKE.
-
I'm going to watch what I have recorded so far.
-
Looking at the photos on Yahoo. Jennifer Redfern has a horrible dress on. Looks like a wrap around bath towel.
-
Haven't seen that one yet Danise!
-
Cate's dress is awful.....for me anyway.
-
Who is planning on joining us for Oscar Bash?
I'm here, but I still need to take a shower and start some laundry (in that order).
-
I like Cate's dress from the waist down.
-
I watched an episode of "Antiques Roadshow," "Who Do You Think You Are?" and "Glee." I haven't been watching any of the pre-Oscar shows, but I'm recording them for my niece, who wants to keep them.
-
Cleaning house this afternoon. Dull. I could be doing something useful, but I think the house really needs it.
The temp outside is 82 and it's just beautiful.
I will join the party later.
It was snowing when I got up this morning and now it's raining.
-
Kevin Spacey?
-
I gotta tell you. If this isn't the red carpet, what happens at half hour?
-
I like Cate's dress from the waist down.
You don't like the plastic grapes or the faux keyhole bodice?
-
http://oscars.movies.yahoo.com/photos/150-2011-red-carpet-arrivals?nc#OmgPhoid=22
Sorry I can't get the photo to post. There is the link.
-
I gotta tell you. If this isn't the red carpet, what happens at half hour?
Retread on ABC....E! has to stop its coverage at 8 p.m.
-
I like Cate's dress from the waist down.
You don't like the plastic grapes or the faux keyhole bodice?
Uh, no.
-
I like Cate's dress from the waist down.
I agree.
-
Scarlet Johansen forgot to comb her hair.
-
Thanks DR DANISE.....some unfortunate choices there.
-
I like Scarlet's dress, but DR GINNY is right.....not a brush or a comb at her house.
-
I like Scarlet's dress, but DR GINNY is right.....not a brush or a comb at her house.
Oh, come on--you know she spent a great deal of money to get that "look". :)
-
Sharon Stone looks like Jessica Lange.
-
LOL that's the sad part DR DANISE
-
http://oscars.movies.yahoo.com/photos/150-2011-red-carpet-arrivals?nc#OmgPhoid=42
You get two, two, TWO bad looks in one photo!
-
Justin Timberlake always looks like he needs a bath.
-
Oh my DR DANISE....and one girl is only known as AND GUEST
-
Who is that disgusting tall woman with the short hair interviewing Jessie Eisenberg??? Blechhh. And watching Mr. Eisenberg you realize he was not acting at all.
-

You got me there. I have no idea.
-
I am not seeing that on E! MR BK - what channel are you watching?
-
Have a great evening everyone.

Might go to the neighbors to watch the event later.
No tv here.
Listening to Cops and Robbers. 8)

I hope "Cops and Robbers" is not live outside your house.
-
Oh no, Helena....just NO!
-
Is Amy Adams the one that was involved in WHAT IF?
-
I worked with the lovely Melissa Leo many years ago on a tv-movie filmed in Pittsburgh.
-
Watching channel seven. Melissa Leo looks like a Christmas card. And who is that "man" interviewing her?
-
Is Amy Adams pregnant? If not, she's put on a few.
-
I had no idea Annette Bening is one of the greatest actresses we've ever produced. But Kevin Spacey said so.
-
Hand comes into frame--Move along, move along.
-
And who is that young girl from something called Winter's Bone - I saw the Blu and Ray for ten dollars yesterday and passed because it looked like crap.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
I don't know from Channel Seven.
Hillary Swank looked pretty.....Steven Spielberg and his daughter....
-
If Kevin Spacey says so - it IS so!
-
I want Helen Mirren's hair!
-
Helen Mirrin is an anti-American pill.
-
Get the boring Celine off the screen please. Thank you.
-
Hugh Jackman and his beard!
-
I am guessing that W I D E R lapels on tuxedoes are making a comeback.
-
I saw Hugh Jackmans' back when I saw him in Boy From Oz on one of my NYC trips.
-
Javier B!
-
Awwwww.....Hailee looks so sweet. Nice hair and nice dress.
Hailee Mills?
-
Josh Brolin!
-
Is Amy Adams the one that was involved in WHAT IF?
Yes, she did the costumes.
-
Reese Witherspoon is wearing Julia Roberts' old dress.
-
Commercials .... time for a ham sandwich.
Ham sandwich! Great choice.
-
Is Amy Adams the one that was involved in WHAT IF?
Yes, she did the costumes.
So she is a close personal friend of MR BK and DR JOSE.
-
Commercials .... time for a ham sandwich.
Ham sandwich! Great choice.
It was delicious.....and appropriate for this evening.
-
Cling Peach....
Remeber the All in the Family about the cans of cling peaches in heavy syrup?
That was one of my favorite episodes!
-
Mark Ruffalo is very short!
-
The mothers now. That was nausea inducing.
-
Passengers on a Florida flight watched the space shuttle from the air. There is a decent video taken from an iPhone:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20110227/tr_yblog_upshot/space-shuttle-seen-from-above
That was incredible!
-
I must have missed her.
-
We're in for a long evening - this goes on for another HOUR?
-
They keep showing the same people over and over.
-
No more tanning, Matthew McHowever you spell it
-
Or it's different people, same dress. I don't know which.
-
We're in for a long evening - this goes on for another HOUR?
No just 28 more minutes.
-
I want to punch Gwyneth Paltrow in the face just because.
-
I shall miss no minutes of the broadcast, no matter how awful. As Tevya says, it's Tradition.
Thank you! That is exactly the attitude everyone should have.
-
I hope the thunderstorms do not start too early.
-
Does anyone else get taken back to the top of the current page after they post?
I wonder if there's a box that got checked in the Additional Options section.
-
From some things I have read - it seems that James Franco and Ann Hathaway will be screening themselves into classic movies....which sounds like a complete waste of time....and an embarrassment to some of the KRAP that is nominated this year.
-
Ok. I am going to get up and get a drink of water. I won't fall on Toby. I will not get punched in the eye again. My legs are perfectly awake. (I hope)
Be right back.
-
Oh no this jerk. Christian Bale. Take a bath.
-
Okay, here's our new release for those who want a jump on what I'm pretty sure will be a sellout.

-
Hi DR DakotaCelt!
-
Donald Trump, Donald Trump's hair and guest.
-
What is the pig Donald Trump doing on this show? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
Did I miss Colin Firth?
-
I confess I'm looking forward to seeing MeatLoaf on the Donald's show.
-
Did I miss Colin Firth?
I don't think so.
-
MR BK is watching the ABC coverage......it's not broadcast nationally.
-
Robert Downey Jr is clean shaven! Thank you, Robert!
-
Looking at pictures of the dress. I do like Mila Kunis dress...
-
Nicole Kidman is wearing an apron!
-
Really hate Nicole Kidman's dress.....
-
Valentiino looks old enough to be Rudolph!
-
Two aprons, DR GINNY.
-
I will admit I do not have the figure to wear it
-
And now, I need to take a shower...and then do laundry.
-
Nicole Kidman is wearing an apron!
I thought it was a tent
-
I will admit I do not have the figure to wear it
Neither do I.
;)
-
I like Cate's dress from the waist down.
I agree.
-
Looks like your live coverage will continue until 5:30 on Channel 7, MR BK followed by the awards proper.
-
We only get the last 30 minutes of the KABC coverage.
-
I like Anne Hathaway's dress
-
I think Warren Beatty has finally become senile.
-
Marky Mark --- show ur undies!
-
I do like the Valentino and Tiffany that Anne Hathaway is sporting.
-
I think Warren Beatty has finally become senile.
A long time ago.
-
Marky Mark --- show ur undies!
I'd rather see him show his third nipple.
-
I think Warren Beatty has finally become senile.
It runs in the family.
-
And watching Mr. Eisenberg you realize he was not acting at all.
;D I was thinking the same thing. I've seen and liked him in couple of other movies.
-
Justin Timberlake always looks like he needs a bath.
I'll give him a bath any time.
-
AHHHHHHHHH It is COLIN and GEOFFREY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I switched over to ABC. There is Colen.
-
I think Mandy Moore looks lovely in her beautiful dress.
-
Mr Darcy!
-
Jrand I just saw them
-
I like Reese's dress
-
Did Jeff Bridges already go through?
-
http://oscars.movies.yahoo.com/photos/150-2011-red-carpet-arrivals?nc#OmgPhoid=70
There he is.
-
I like this last dress but I was busy doing something and didnot catch who it was
-
Aha! Thanks.
I have been stuck on E! and I could have seen ABC for the last hour! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
-
Switching to AMAZING RACE for the last 1/2 hour of Red Carpet Coverage.
-
YW Jrand!
-
No more tanning, Matthew McHowever you spell it
Matthew is not nearly as attractive without make-up.
-
Warren hasn't looked right for years, but whatever he's done to himself in the last couple of years is not good - he looks mummified.
-
Valentino - THAT was frightening. Hi-def is not good if you've had hair plugs.
-
ABC is going to air two interviews with Charlie Sheen. That should finish him off at CBS.
-
stunning dress on Jennifer Hudson
-
Wow! Look how many people are signed in tonight!
-
I like this dress on Natalie better than the one she wore at Golden Globes
-
Vibes and positive thoughts to one and all
-
I like this dress on Natalie better than the one she wore at Golden Globes
Me too. And I like the matching earrings. Not over done. Very nice.
-
James Franco is also on General Hospital
-
I like Sandra's dress
Red seems to be a big color for this year
-
MR BK is watching the ABC coverage......it's not broadcast nationally.
It sure has made it to Delaware.
der Brucer
-
I guess I'll go into the other room and watch the show now.
-
It is appalling that Anne Hathaway and James Franco are hosting the ACADEMY AWARDS.
-
Charlie Sheen has clearly lost his marbles.
-
That won't stop his network from paying him even more money next season and believe me he'll be back.
-
Sandra Bullock's Hair - that's the title of my next novel.
-
I only have to make three hundred more posts this evening to hit a rather astonishing new plateau.
-
It is appalling that Anne Hathaway and James Franco are hosting the ACADEMY AWARDS.
A better choice than Charlie Sheen and Roseanne Barr.
der Brucer
-
I am not liking Nicole Kidman's dress
-
Bk, hubby is saying hello to you since you are also a Roger Corman fan.
-
In other news, the heavens just opened here in SW Ohio - it's pouring rain!
-
I wonder how those ladies feel when people are smiling into their face, telling them how lovely they look in their dresses and then next day they tear them apart saying how ugly that same dress looked.
-
I have sometimes wondered that
-
That won't stop his network from paying him even more money next season and believe me he'll be back.
Wanna bet?
-
I like Marissa Tomei's dress and also SCarlettt Johanson's dress
-
I think Gwyneth Paltrow looks striking this evening.
-
Did I mention that I'd love to run away to Santa Fe with Christian Bale. ;)
-
That won't stop his network from paying him even more money next season and believe me he'll be back.
I'd like a piece of that action - after his anti-semitic rant against his own producer/writer he'll go to Mel Gibson purgatory.
der Brucer
-
Thunder and lightening, too :o
-
Thunder and lightening, too :o
Just be safe.
-
It is appalling that Anne Hathaway and James Franco are hosting the ACADEMY AWARDS.
Ain't it the truth.
-
I thought "Lady" GaGa was going to show up in some kind of Lord-Only-Knows-What look. Did I miss her? Or did she crawl back into her egg?
-
The following is from my friend's five year old son regarding Warren
5yo, watching the Oscars: Look at that old man (Warren Beatty). OMG. Look at that guy (Valentino?)! What's wrong with his nose? Look at it. We don't really have people who look scary like that here . .
-
I am not liking Nicole Kidman's dress
I agree.
-
Halle Berry's dress is nice
-
I like Marissa Tomei's dress and also SCarlettt Johanson's dress
I like Marissa's, not Scarlett's. I understand all the gel in Scarlett's hair, that style would not hold without the gel.
-
Hello, everyone.
I ate an early din-din in order to come here, but I see that things are already underway.
-
I wish you all could hear Sheena's excitement. She's on the couch snoring rather loudly.
-
Hello! I got a Xoom tablet today--I'm getting used to it so I won't be able to respond quickly, but I'll do my best.
-
Sometimes I change my opinion regarding a dress I've seen in a photo once I see it live with the person moving.
-
Hi Jeanne. It is nice to see you.
-
Hello Jeanne...
-
TOD:
No predictions as such, as the only nominee I saw was THE KING'S SPEECH, which I loved. Lovely film. I will say that I feel that Colin Firth earned the many kudos he's received, but I'd like to see Geoffrey Rush receive Best Supporting Actor, as I feel he did every bit as fine a job as Colin Firth. The only performance in the film that disappointed me was Timothy Spall, whose work I usually admire. I didn't feel this performance was quite up to the mark. That said, it is just a wonderful film.
-
Now I shall attempt to read the many posts.
-
Hi DR Jeanne!
-
Strange but curious opening
-
What are we watching?
-
opening sequences of the oscars
at least it was not a bad dance one
-
I think Sheena has it right. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
-
I wonder how those ladies feel when people are smiling into their face, telling them how lovely they look in their dresses and then next day they tear them apart saying how ugly that same dress looked.
I always wondered about that, too.
-
a piece is now being done on Gone with the Wind
-
Well, that's 12 minutes of our lives we'll never get back...
-
Art direction award
-
production design
-
Alice in Wonderland got Set and art design
-
Well, that's 12 minutes of our lives we'll never get back...
At least we were together.
-
And watching Mr. Eisenberg you realize he was not acting at all.
;D I was thinking the same thing. I've seen and liked him in couple of other movies.
There are just so many "actors" who all they ever do is memorize lines. The characters that they portray are just versions of themselves. How is that acting?
-
Ginny, Glad I was checking facebook
-
Inception just won for cinematography
-
Like the glasses on the forehead look.
-
Didn't love the opening....but didn't HATE it.
Seems to be moving along......
-
The opening bit was funny for about ten seconds but seemed to go on for over five minutes. After that - well, whoever is writing the jokes for the hosts is not good - and it ain't Vilanch. And I liked it better when they gave one of the supporting awards first. But, having seen the "producer" of the show, all is clear.
-
Where are all our wonderful posts?
-
We should be on page fifty already.
-
Kirk does not look too bad
-
I think Gwyneth Paltrow looks striking this evening.
Yes, so do I. I also like Natalie Portman's dress. THAT is classy.
-
Supporting actress is next
-
I am leaning towards Helena Bonham Carter
-
Good Evening!
Well... Time-Warner is still "investigating" the problem with the "modem outage" which has apparently affected various parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. So, I'm still without cable and internet access at home until tomorrow. Or possibly until Tuesday.
I really wish I could attend tonight's Oscar Par-Tay here on HHW, but there's really only so much web-surfing my eyes can take via the iPhone. And since I can't watch the ceremony on TV anyway right now... Well... I'm just going to do some reading, listen to some music and turn in early.
I hope everyone is doing well. ~~~~~VIBES~~~~~ to those who need them. Hope to be back sooner rather than later.
Laters...
-
There might be an upset in this category, some have said.
-
Hailee is another goodone
-
Ilike Hailee's dress
very appropriate for her age
-
He is funnier than the writers
-
Melissa Leo won
-
What happened to the tradition of the previous year's supporting actor presenting this award?
-
Melissa's is cut so you can see Honolulu.
Kirk.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm......didn't have to see that.
-
I am not really liking her dress
-
What happened to the tradition of the previous year's supporting actor presenting this award?
Maybe she is working on a movie.
-
Well, I need to get ready for work. Ugh. I've enjoyed my 5 days off. Maybe I need to have Toby punch me again if it will get me more time off.
Laters, hugs and Vibes!
-
Melissa Leo won
She got bleeped! :D
-
I guess it was Penelope Cruz last year....and she is there....hmmmmmmmm
Melissa's speech was not so hot....
-
That big actor Justin Timberlake.
-
I think Reese looks terrific. I like her dress, plus her hair style becomes her.
-
animated short film okay.....
-
That guy don't know how to tie a tie.
-
I hate the KRAP they make the presenters say.....it's not FUNNY and it just adds to the time!
-
it is awkward
-
I wonder if Toy Story 3 has a chance?
-
He looks like Ed Helms from THE OFFICE.
-
Toy Story 3! Best animated feature.
-
Toy Story3
God where did some of these people learn to do impromptu public speaking
-
I haven't seen the first Toy Story yet
-
Loved Kirk Douglas. Best thing in the show thus far.
-
Who won Supporting Actor last year?
-
Melissa Leo was embarrassing. Justin Timberlake - not funny. And slowwwww. Kirk, well...
-
I have seen the first one but not the subsequent ones
-
I haven't seen the first Toy Story yet
Don't feel so bad...I bought "Toy Story 3" but I still haven't watched it, yet. ::)
-
Welcome eleven GUESTS. Sorry that about HALF of our usual crowd could not be bothered to be here.
-
Not sure this broadcast is going to hold my interest...
-
No breaking any records for this broadcast. Ah, for the old days.
-
But we do have our beautiful ten hainsies/kimlets and that's good enough for the likes of me.
-
I think the Miss Leo f word was calculated - I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
-
No breaking any records for this broadcast. Ah, for the old days.
I'll stick it out...I'm recording it for my niece. And my friend Margo's daughter wants a copy, also.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Christopher Waltz won last year for BSA....maybe he is back home in Germany
-
I am doing several things ..... It is slow
-
I think the Miss Leo f word was calculated - I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
Of course she did....
-
Best adapted screenplay.
-
Screenwriters on book
I think I have to go with 127 hours or True Grit
-
Javier & James look very nice in their white jackets
-
Social network won
-
Screenwriters on book
I think I have to go with 127 hours or True Grit
Neither...The Social Network.
-
I'm here but I have nothing to add. I am not watching it, obviously.
-
This writer has DR CP's hairstyle
-
and on and on and on....talk talk talk
-
The rain is starting, but no thunder and lightning yet.
-
Best Original Screenplay
The Kings Speech is my guess
-
and The King's Speech wins
-
Original Screenplay The King's Speech.
-
I haven't seen the first Toy Story yet
Nor have I, Kevin.
-
It was funny to see that so many of those BIG STARS didn't really speak the words actually written in the script - choosing to improve upon them
-
That was a nice speech
-
Nice speech.
-
A good actor will take the words and improvise to create the magic and the message
-
Good for David Seidler!
;D
-
I am truly heartened that a writer over the age of sixty won an Academy Award.
-
That made the whole show worthwhile - almost.
-
The fact that they let Miss Leo go on and on and on but are cutting everyone else off is shameful.
-
I am truly heartened that a writer over the age of sixty won an Academy Award.
Me too
-
And why are they giving screenplay so early?
-
But if they keep this pace up the show will be two hours.
-
A good actor will take the words and improvise to create the magic and the message
Sorry DR DAKOTA CELT - improvisation is NOT acting....stick to the script
-
what is this s&*t?
-
I am also glad to see someone with maturity and vision as a writer win
-
The Host and Hostess Are Impossible
The Show Is Boring
Wake Me When it's Over
Anne is singing-- Why?

What is this on the screen.... SNL

I HATE THE ANTI AMERICAN DAME HELEN MIRRIN GET HER OFF MY TELEVISION
-
Franco in Drag?
-
James Franco is certainly secure.
-
SCARY NOT SECURE
-
Girl from Denmark can sweat!
-

-
What's with the shaking?
-
Girl from Denmark can sweat!
You got that right!
-
Best supporting actor
my guess Geoffrey Rush
-
Reese has some nice hair going on!
-
I think maybe they should go back to having a comedian host.
-
Anyone but Bale, thank you.
-
I think maybe they should go back to having a comedian host.
There has to be something better than this.
-
Christian Bale!
-
I was pulling for GEoffrey
Christian Bale got it
-
Ugh. Bale - BSA.
Haven't like him in anything since NEWSIES
-
it must be curse night on the oscars
-
not as bad a speech as I was expecting
-
I am truly heartened that a writer over the age of sixty won an Academy Award.
Me too
My former fellow student at the UW Drama Dept.
-
Academy rule: do a Brooklyn accent - win. I need to see The King's Speech.
-
Normally I like Anne but i am finding this very bland
-
I just lost an EBAY auction I had decided I didn't want to win. This is good news.
-
I Miss My Popcorn
-
Of the foreign films only the Greek looked interesting to me.
-
Well, no one can say we didn't get to page eighteen.
-
One hour + into the show....moving along pretty well......
-
I still prefer traditional animation - but perhaps I can change.....I doubt it....but perhaps.
-
What the heck is this?
-
Since we aren't even halfway to our lowest Oscar posting best, it looks doubtful, doesn't it?
-
Will Dorothy Provine make the dead man's slide show?
-
But thanks to those who are here and making this fun.
-
Is That Why They Call Them Moving Pictures
-
Just checked facebook and I had an Onion news headline
Breaking: Bale given nuetered male statue named Oscar
-
I am not a fan of Nicole's dress
-
Of the foreign films only the Greek looked interesting to me.
agree..
-
Best original score
The Kings speech is my guess
-
interesting.... Rahman did the music for 127 hours. He also did the winning song for Slumdog millionaire a few years back
-
And Now The Next Kritzerland Release
-
Well they dressed very nice for the show.
-
Social network got it
-
The Social network best original score.
-
Trent Reznor is a GENIUS....fer shur.
-
Scarlet's hair is out of control....give her a brush!
-
SOUND
-
She's holding onto him for dear life
-
Sound
-
Not So Sound
-
Sound.
(I have no idea. I am just joining in with the others.)
-
Inception
-
sound editing
-
Inception
no interception?
-
These unhosted web cams (ABC.com) don't interest me.
David Seidler is a very enjoyable impromptu speaker!
-
Sound editing AND sound mixing for INCEPTION.
-
Now we have three guests.
-
3d DIFFUSION is that you?
-
Even if it is you can't answer. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Did anyone else hear the woman on the red carpet refer to "Starlet" Johansen? Maybe it was my imagination.
-
James Franco seemed a bit ill at ease during his last intro....maybe he realizes his contribution won't be as universally loved as he was told it would be.
-
There was no question Social Network would win score - the droning works well in the film, and the voters know nothing about music.
-
I am afraid we are in for some TWILIGHT something or other during the next segment - or so.
-
There was no question Social Network would win score - the droning works well in the film, and the voters know nothing about music.
Where is Ronald Stein when you need him?
-
Well, we've got us thirteen users on now, so if everyone makes 100 posts we'll break some records.
-
These unhosted web cams (ABC.com) don't interest me.
David Seidler is a very enjoyable impromptu speaker!
indeed.
-
I think Gwyneth Paltrow looks striking this evening.
Yes, so do I. I also like Natalie Portman's dress. THAT is classy.
I also liked Natalie's dress.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
I hope King's Speech is out on Blu and Ray soon.
-
And now I'll have to get the CD.
-
Hailee is another good one
Yup.
-
Yes, BK, you do need to see THE KING'S SPEECH. I'll be interested in your opinion.
-
true...
-
I'm Wearing My Glasses But I don't see F...... 3-D
-
Marisa looks pretty....and I really like her earrings.
-
Melissa Leo won
She got bleeped! :D
I thought she was great! :)
-
I agree Ginny, I would also be interested in hearing bk's impression of the film
-
animated short film okay.....
That is an example of a dress I didn't care for in the still photo until I saw her moving in it.
-
Oh no...Cate.....she and Nicole Kidman tie for ugly dress in MY awards show.
-
interesting dress
-
MR BK The King's Speech is an excellent movie.
-
make up
wolfman
-
CATE looks like she's wearing A Place Mat
-
That was a good guess!
-
"The Wolfman"?? I've never even heard of this movie.
-
I think the Miss Leo f word was calculated - I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
I didn't or I wouldn't have appreciated her acceptance speech. I hope I'm correct and not you, just meaning it is nicer my way.
-
WOLFMAN for makeup.
-
I hope King's Speech is out on Blu and Ray soon.
It is scheduled to be released on DVD in mid-April.
-
Oh no...Cate.....she and Nicole Kidman tie for ugly dress in MY awards show.
Cate's is not bad but I am not digging it
-
I am not a fan of Nicole's dress
I am not a fan of Nicole.
-
Liked the makeup in WOLFMAN but I didn't like that they strayed SO FAR away from the original legend and story.
-
Costume design
The King's speech is my guess
-
Costume Design.
-
Alice in Wonderland got it
-
I am truly heartened that a writer over the age of sixty won an Academy Award.
Excellent speech!!! He showed a lot of class. :)
-
ALICE IN WONDERLAND.....my taste is completely off from the rest of the world....at least The Academy.
-
MR BK The King's Speech is an excellent movie.
I concur
-
The fact that they let Miss Leo go on and on and on but are cutting everyone else off is shameful.
I think because Kirk was on the stage they let her go on and on.
-
Nice speech
-
I think the Miss Leo f word was calculated - I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
I didn't or I wouldn't have appreciated her acceptance speech. I hope I'm correct and not you, just meaning it is nicer my way.
DR JANE everything she has done since being nominated seems to be in the same calculating and calculated vein....I'm with BK on this one.
-
Gloves?
-
blah blah blah......it's for MAKEUP, lady....shut up
-
Nice job
-
Don't think Cate will be on anyone's best dressed list
-
My Goodness BK I have 97 Posts To Go
-
let me guess.... it must be song
-
Sound mix is a little hot on the orchestra....
-
This song must be from Toy Story.... its okay
-
Listening to the thank-you cams, I think the awards should only go to people with VERY small families. ;)
-
Thunder & lightning......have to drop out for a bit.....
-
Oh no...Cate.....she and Nicole Kidman tie for ugly dress in MY awards show.
I found Cate's dress more flattering to her figure than Nicole's dress to her figure. Nicole likes her dress because it is comfortable. ;D
-
Zachary Levi has a nice voice.
-
this song is not too bad
-
Veal Oscar Anyone?
-
I think the Miss Leo f word was calculated - I think she knew exactly what she was doing.
I didn't or I wouldn't have appreciated her acceptance speech. I hope I'm correct and not you, just meaning it is nicer my way.
DR JANE everything she has done since being nominated seems to be in the same calculating and calculated vein....I'm with BK on this one.
This difference between following her calculated actions & watching without preconceived ideas.
-
Nice song!
-
While Ann's red dress is striking I hated her makeup and hair. The red color of her lipstick did not go with the color of her dress. I prefer the first dress, make-up & hair at the beginning of the awards.
-
"The Wolfman"?? I've never even heard of this movie.
nor have I but I do know that Rick Baker has had a track record for makeup
-
There's No Way This Is Going To Be Over at 11:00 PM
Are We Watching The Extended Director's Cut?
-
Okay, someone needs to explain the ineptitude of the sound mix on the songs - disgusting - was Randy's mic even ON? The Menken song - not one of this best, but they do love to give it to him - still, I'd rather Randy win.
-
This show already feels like it's been on for three hours and it hasn't even been two yet.
-
There's more commercial time than show time.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
MR BK The King's Speech is an excellent movie.
I concur
Ditto.
-
I'm going to watch some more of the show. I'm not sure I'll be back.
Have fun.
'night
-
Randy Newman was here in concert last Saturday night, but we were involved with family and could not attend.
-
Good thing hubby is not in room... He is not a fan of any of the Gyllenhaals
-
Changes no more for short docu
-
I do like the color of Amy Adams' dress - I'm thinking something in that color for my mother-of-the-groom dress.
-
Got to the TV just in time to see my friend Richard King win for the sound design for INCEPTION, and hear the horrible sound mix on Randy.
-
Live action short: God of Love
-
Kate Blanchett's dress looked like gangrene or something. The yellow on pink...yuck.
-
What Are They Trying To Do Now?
-
Oprah is a presenter
-
Nice dress...
-
Oprah looks like she's crying...
-
best documentary...
-
Breathe the same air as Oprah!
-
Inside Job
-
I Think We Lost BK
I hope it's only for a short while
-
Did I miss "In Memoriam"? Did they get it right this year?
-
Did I miss "In Memoriam"? Did they get it right this year?
No, you haven't missed it.
-
Did I miss "In Memoriam"? Did they get it right this year?
You haven't missed anything Amy..From The Beginning to where we are now!
-
DR Edi - Celine Dion said on the red carpet that she's singing SMILE for the in memoriam segment.
-
There might be hope for the show... Billy Crystal
-
Billy Crystal is funny. :D
-
If I remember right.... Didn't he ride a horse one time on the Oscars broadcast?
-
I like Billy Crystal... he is a hoot
-
Great CGI experiment
-
If I remember right.... Didn't he ride a horse one time on the Oscars broadcast?
Yup.
-
Well, I think it's time to say goodnight. It was fun!
-
Visual effect...
Either Inception or Alice in Wonderland
-
Inception won
-
If I remember right.... Didn't he ride a horse one time on the Oscars broadcast?
Yup.
I thought so.... I believe it was the one he used on City Slickers
-
film editing...
King's speech
-
Dang... social network
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I think they can cut some of the commercials
-
Nothing is as funny as Bob Hope.
-
I gotta tell you.
Welcome Back
That Is All
-
Is it possible that THE SOCIAL NETWORK is going to win Best Picture?
Editing is often a precursor.
-
Well...
About 20 minutes or so ago, it appears that Time-Warner fixed the internet problem... And it looks like they're working on the cable problem now too - the cable-box has reset itself about three times so far... We shall see...
-
Duke Snider has passed away:
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/So-long-Duke-Snider-Brooklyn-Dodgers-great-die?urn=mlb-327021
He was a broadcaster with the Montreal Expos. So i listened to him a lot.
-
I am only on page 7. Someone used a handcream around my computer. And the smell is giving me a headache.
-
RANDY NEWMAN
-
And now the cable is back... Just in time for Randy Newman's win! -Great timing! :)
-
Yay, Randy Newman!
-
Watched the Red Carpet from 6-8pm. Interestingly, E! here is not in HD. Very big difference seeing some of the dresses there vs on ABC in HD.
I really liked Halle Berry's dress. And Penelope Cruz's dress. Natalie Portman.
A lot of red!
-
an amazing talent
-
Randy's win and speech were the class act of this show.
-
Glad to see Jose.
-
I hope elmore is having fun doing whatever he's doing. And Ben. And Pogue. And and and.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
To show you the difference - on one of our Oscar Bash evenings and not our best we had 17,000 views. Tonight we'll be lucky to have seven hundred.
-
I find that fascinating.
-
In December, however, we had a half a million views.
-
I will try...
-
So, we still occasionally have it.
-
Why is Jeanne sitting there like a herring.
-
Correction: Jeanne is POSTING like a dead herring.
-
watching the memoriams
-
Not too bad...
-
I do like the song Stormy Weather...
-
Where is Clint Eastwood for example? So, he only shows up when nominated?
-
Interesting that we have eight GUESTS but only one of them is viewing this topic.
-
I like her blue dress...
-
interesting indeed...
-
Directing is up...
-
The King's Speech!!!!
-
Did they have to cheese-up that tribute to Lena Horne with those quotes from "Stormy Weather"?
-
The King's Speech!!!!
Yessss!
-
The others were good and I was not biased at all :-)
-
Life Time Acheivement...
-
A distinguished trio
-
The King's Speech!!!!
Yessss!
;D
-
Brownlow, Godard and Coppola
-
At least 3DD can not respond
-
Jeff Bridges is presenting.....
-
He is presenting the best actress. I do like Annette's dress
-
I do want to see The Kids are All Right...
It has not come to Fargo
-
I do like Nicole's necklace...
-
DArn I still like Jeff along with Colin...
-
Well, I don't have the Oscars on, but I see posts. Fun? And tedious?
My big news is that, after a month of horrific technical difficulties, my website is back up. www.SavorSA.com. You can't imagine what a relief after weeks of unending headaches it is. I hope no more difficulties.
-
I am hit and miss with Natalie
-
I place my bets on Annette....
-
and we have reached page 24
-
Natalie got best actress....
-

Congrats John G.!!
-
Glad to hear that John G.!
-
HA! This was just posted on Twitter:
"If you pull on Natalie's earrings, the servants come."
;D
-
Sandra is presenting best actor
-
My Mantra for the NIGHT: Colin, Colin, Colin.....
however there is a tiny nagging voice.... Jeff...
-
I am channeling Colin!
-
God Mr Darcy needs to win...
-
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tHERE IS A GOD!
COLIN!
-
I am a happy camper... Colin Won!
-
Yay, Colin Firth!
-
Steven Spielberg is presenting best picture
-
I really don't like the way the previous winner has to talk to the nominees - it's yuckilicious.
-
I'm hungry and may go out to get a sandwich.
-
Very anxious to see The King's Speech now.
-
Considering how quickly certain films come to home video it's surprising that King's Speech won't be out till April.
-
Yay, Colin Firth!
;D
-
Well, now six GUESTS are reading this here thread.
-
I have counted at least 9 different dresses for Anne
-
So... If "The King's Speech" does not win after this "intro".... ;)
-
I would be HIGHLY annoyed Jose
-
YES
THE KING"S SPEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT also won the BAFTA
-
Where is Clint Eastwood for example? So, he only shows up when nominated?
It didn't bother me not to see him.
-
I have heard of the Queen's reaction to this movie. It is a remarkable movie
-
Oh, yessss!
-
YEAH!
It really does look like my cable came back on just in time!
-
And now stay tuned for the kids from Staten Island!
-
Considering how quickly certain films come to home video it's surprising that King's Speech won't be out till April.
Along with JEWS AND BASEBALL! :-)
-
Am pleased with the top wins for "King's Speech." I just hope in five years, people don't sneer at it the way they have with "Chariots of Fire."
-
How many dresses did Anne Hathaway wear during the show?
-
I'm happy that the "In Memoriam" didn't suck this year.
-
These kids are really getting into it!
-
I counted at least 9 or 10
-
Here it comes:
Buh bye Social Network - I would have been rooting for it had I not watched the making of documentary - that single piece of tripe made me not like the film as much - sad, but true.
-
Very happy that THE KING'S SPEECH won.
-
Now, it's past my bedtime.
'Night all.
-
Colin...I love you.
-
These kids are really getting into it!
I guess there were. Although it looked like they were channeling James Franco. ::)
-
Well, twenty-five pages is nothing to sneeze at, although I just sneezed so there you are.
-
I wanted to like THE SOCIAL NETWORK, but was kind of disappointed with it.
-
Well, twenty-five pages is nothing to sneeze at, although I just sneezed so there you are.
Bless you!
-
I liked it until I knew that Mr. David Fincher regularly did ninety takes of scenes
-
The TNT James Dean movie I cut promos for was mentioned---James Franco made a great James Dean, I thought.
-
Very happy that THE KING'S SPEECH won.
Me, too. But, even without that, I'm just very pleased to see such a fine film.
-
So...
DR edisaurus - I arrive in the ATL Wednesday mid-day, and I depart Sunday morning.
Where are we eating?
;D
-
Well, I hung in to the end and it was worth it. Now I want to see THE KING'S SPEECH again...
-
Great partay, BK - thanks for hosting and g'night!
-
So has Charlie Sheen knocked Grant out of a job?
-
I wanted to like THE SOCIAL NETWORK, but was kind of disappointed with it.
I have heard good and less than enamoured opinions. A friend of mine said it would have been a good television movie or mockumentary
-
Well, I hung in to the end and it was worth it. Now I want to see THE KING'S SPEECH again...
Yes, I've been wanting to see it since I saw it months ago. I will be buying the DVD.
-
Well, I hung in to the end and it was worth it. Now I want to see THE KING'S SPEECH again...
so do I
-
So...
DR edisaurus - I arrive in the ATL Wednesday mid-day, and I depart Sunday morning.
Where are we eating?
;D
I will be back from Florida Thursday night, possibly in time for dinner. I came down to help Greg set up and do a job in Ft. Lauderdale.
Your choice!
-
I liked it until I knew that Mr. David Fincher regularly did ninety takes of scenes
IMHO, you sometimes loose something when you do that many takes
-
And since we have a 7AM call, Nytol! Thanks, bk, our host with the most!
-
Night, all. Sorry I missed most of the fun.
-
Good night John and Edi!
-
I think I've been Oscar'd out.
Good night!
-
hi too tired to post and catch up tonight but vixdad just manged to devirus my computer
-
750 posts are nothing to sneeze at!
-
Glad to hear that you were able to get your puter back up and running
-
It was still a nice gathering..
-
Congratulations to Joan Rivers - the only thing in Hollywood that needs more tightening up than tonight's Oscar telecast.
der Brucer
-
Good evening all! Had a good time with my friends. I think I was most happy for Randy Newman, but also for all the top winners. Not sure where I came out in my pool but i did pretty well
-
DR Jose, glad your cable is finally getting fixed
-
Hope everyone had a good time. I have caught up on the posts
-
Glad to hear that you have a great time with friends...
-

I will be back from Florida Thursday night, possibly in time for dinner. I came down to help Greg set up and do a job in Ft. Lauderdale.
Your choice!
Friday night is looking like a non-SETC-related reception night for me, so... We'll talk. :)
-
DR Jose, glad your cable is finally getting fixed
So am I!
I technically have an appointment for tomorrow morning, but I'm really tempted just to cancel it since everything seems to be working fine right now.
*And I really do have to thank the the Twitter folks at Time-Warner's national office for helping to facilitate my "negotiations" with the NYC office. ;)
-
And...
As much as I would like to catch up on the past four days of posts, I do need to get ready for bed now. Lots of stuff to take care of tomorrow.
Goodnight.
-
OMG! I entered the Oscar contest at our local newspaper and if I'm reading it right, I just won a family pack of 4 tickets to the local theater for one year. It says the winner will be notified by email. I got everything right but the tie breaker (there were 10 categories) but no one else got 10 right so I won.
-
This is so cool. I will be watching my email closely. I would LOVE to have a year free pass to the movie.
-
Even cooler, there were 65 people in the contest....I'm loving this. If I dont' have an email by tomorrow morning, I'll call.
-
KING'S SPEECH & Colin Firth have won...all is right with the world.
Jrand, Helen Mirren is not Anti-American. She's even married to one and lives here half the time.
BK, I can't watch and comment at the same time.
Best acceptance speech: The documentary winner reminding us that it has been three years and still no trader or banker has gone to prison for bilking the country and the world.
-
CP, he made a very good point... those robbers are still loose
-
Very cool Cilla!
-
I want to see that Wall Street doc - is it out? Anyone remember the title?
-
I went to Jerry's for a quick plate of matzo brei. It's times like these when I wish Pogue were still here in LA.
-
I think I'll write some notes and maybe get to bed early, for I must be up at six.
-
I did three loads of laundry and I'm still not done. I have rehearsal tomorrow night but not Tuesday, so that's when I'll hopefully get it all done...for now.
-
A friend of mine called and we talked for over an hour. I didn't actually watch much of the last hour or so of the Oscars, but I had the TV on.
-
I want to see that Wall Street doc - is it out? Anyone remember the title?

Great, I'm ordering it now.
-
George,
Did you see the part where there were three recipients, 2 men and a women and one of the men thanked "all three of our wives" and named three women.
der Brucer
A lot classier than the over-the-the hill Producer who thanked his "boy friend".

No, I didn't. I'll check that out.
-
Feeling oddly very tired tonight. I am going to head out and will be back for a chat tomorrow. Niters everyone!
