Good morning, all. Am typing this from the airport while waiting for the plane.
Congrats to ROB on his accomplishment.
...
And the word of the day is: COCKALORUM!
Maybe you need a Rice Krispies Treat DR FJL....those did wonders for the energy of the moppets last night!
Last night's performance of THE MUSIC MAN was fine....with a good audience. It will be sad when it is over after tonight's performance.....but it will also be a bit of a relief.
For two nights in a row said Farmer's Wife pictured here two days ago, has taken my chair from its place and put it in front of the fan so she can sit DURING THE SHOW with the FARMER - in the flow of traffic.....THE FARMER hisseff sits in the chair that Harold Hill put there for himself for the few minutes during the show he gets to sit down....and now both of us have to stand up....most of the other extra chairs are taken up by the urchins....and they have taken SIX of our chairs for extra seating in the house!
And that's the backstage report from THE MUSIC MAN.....except that last night some of the watching mothers brought SUGAR treats and SUGAR drinks for the children.....I do not imagine ANY of them slept last night.....they were certainly on HIGH SPEED backstage!
DR Jose, enjoy DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY! I really want to see it. I want to see my beloved Rebecca Luker and my friend Greg in the pit. I also look forward to Larry Hochman's orchestrations. I am sure they will be wonderful.
My friend Mark Alan Lee took some photos of the GLEE tour in Indy last night....some nice pics....

I think I'll have to dig out "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and watch it again.
There was one "lady" who came up to the window of the truck. She was dressed in a very smart, black business suit, and she had a roller bag...
"Excuse me, I have to catch a train back to Philadelphia... Could I cut in line?"
I don't think that's accurate, FJL. Polly Holliday played Ladd's role on TV, at least I think it was Ladd's role. Unless Ladd joined the show after Holliday left.

Yes, Diane Ladd joined the TV series ALICE after Polly Holliday left.

How about Incorperating Mr. Bennett and Kermit In Your Show? Of Course On Video
And our guest star for the Kander and Ebb show is - Gregory Harrison. He'll be doing a Steel Pier song, but not one he sang in that show.
Of course, those with long memories for film history will remember that the same week that New York, New York opened in New York, New York, another film, very low-budget, opened, too, and in several of the reviews for that low-budget film New York, New York was invoked and not in a good way in comparison to the low-budget film.

Something called The First Nudie Musical.
What was the movie?
Well, this weekend is Olympia's Capital City Pride (http://capitalcitypride.net/) weekend! AND the special guest performer during today's festivities is Olympia's very own Broadway baby, Shoshana Bean (http://capitalcitypride.net/schedule/main-stage-entertainment-schedule/)!
BUT I have to usher for a local production of Honk! (http://wcpa.squarespace.com/upcoming-events/2011/6/3/honk-the-ugly-duckling-musical.html) and the VERY MOMENT that Shoshana is performing. :P
I didn't specifically ask to usher at this performance. They just assigned this time to me. I didn't know.
Darn.

We are going to watch TRUE GRIT (2010) tonight.
Thanks - the Melody part was last minute - she was so het up about reading it in manuscript form and it was so cute and sweet that I added her to it.
~~~~~CLOSING NIGHT VIBES TO DR JRAND~~~~~
The original is playing all day on UHD if you have that channel.
DR MBarnum - Sounds like you had a great time last night. And Congrats to Noor!
Did they go out to a restaurant for the party? Or did Noor's parents prepare a homemade Iraqi feast?
There was a question about favorite commercials yesterday; this is one of mine:
Okay, so I am a day late!
DR MBarnum - Sounds like you had a great time last night. And Congrats to Noor!
It was held at a vintage home in a desireable neighborhood in south salem, the home of a lady who works at the school Noor and Ali go to. The teachers and office staff of that school have totally gone out of their way to assist and support Noor and Ali...it is just amazing. A lot of tears were shed when Noor read a speech she prepared for the party.
Noor's mom, Maisa (who was a shool teacher in Baghdad...until a Taliban goon shot someone right in front of her one day, and so she decided to call it quits), cooked the food...she should totally open her own restaurnat, I swear!! I don't think she stopped crying the entire party!!
And that "whoosh" I just heard was most likely DR MBarnum making his flight and hotel reservations. ;)
Did they give you a break on the labor?
Today I went out to lunch with a friend. I probably shouldn't have done it, because I am really suffering now, but it is over and done. However, my sister is now very unhappy with me because i was able to go out to lunch, but that I can't go to her grandson's semi-pro football game this evening.
Now, there are two major differences in my mind. First of all, lunch is at 12 Noon, and the football game is at 6:00 p.m. By six p.m. I am already settled in for the night AND I have already taken my pain pill. The second difference is that lunch is inside and I am seated in a comfortable chair. At the game I would be outside and sitting on hard steel bleachers.
So, for the moment, I am the black sheep of the family.
Woke up feeling awful. Had some coffee, felt a little better, but still not all there.
The little smartphone took surprisingly good video. The sound quality leaves something to be desired.
I can't really be too hard on my sister. She hasn't seen me for a couple of months; and until you actually see me, I don't think you can really appreciate how far downhill I have gone.
Jennifer is your energy returning?
Jennifer is your energy returning?
Yes, slowly. I still have not gone swimming yet. But i'd say i'm at around 70%. I was able to go with my nieces and run around and i wasn't tired at all. So that is good.
a video would be fun to see. :)
I am very happy to know, lunch out or not, DR TCB is not outside at a football game sitting on cold hard bleachers.
At the same time I can understand why his sister doesn't realize & relates it to his seeing a friend today. Instead of resting during the day when there was an important event in the evening she would run around during the day causing her to cancel. Of course those she canceled on weren't always happy because she should have known better.
And, of course, there was cake:
Touching story.
Was out early this morning to get an oil change at Jiffy Lube...it took 2 hours...so much for the "Jiffy" part of their name.
TCB had you said you would go to the game?
RE: DR Elmore's question about commercials.
Do most people still watch them? I record almost everything, so I watch very few. And even if i'm going to watch something "live" i usually start 10 minutes late so i don't have to wait.
Or give me her number and I'll tell her!
No, Jane, a touching story was that video you posted from Korea's Got Talent.
I am assuming that Arnold M. Brockman's FB account has been hacked since I am suddenly getting a series of very strange wall posts from him.
Speaking of crazy, I did something slightly crazy today.
There were free pony rides for the kids today. And there was this huge bouncy slide. When I saw it I wished that I could go on it. It looked fun.
Anyhow beforehand my sister had said there is no way she would let me 2 year old niece go on it. But when we got there Jadie really wanted to go on it. So I went with her (she went down on my lap).
Wow, it was fun. Although my back and legs are hurting. It is very steep. And the first 2 times I basically carried her up. I didn't think she'd be able to get up the bouncy little steps.
She loved it.I think there may even be a video. :)
Shoshana Bean is from Beaverton, Oregon.
Or was she born in Olympia and then moved to Beaverton?
Yes, born in Olympia, raised in Beaverton.
Off to the sold out closing night of THE MUSIC MAN. I have wanted to play Mayor Shinn for a long time - and this has been such fun (with exceptions)....thanks to my fellow HHW'er for their thoughts and vibes.....they have been most appreciated.
That's the first thing I said or I'll eat hay with the horse!
