And there's a production in Winnipeg opening in two weeks. Will Jennifer go to either? You can find both productions on Facebook.
...Lovely pictures from DR GINNY yesterday!
I'll ask my doctor about Simvastatin. Right now I'm taking fish oil, which is technically a blood thinner and I bruise easily, like DR Ginny. About two weeks ago I had a black eye and people kept asking what happened. I still don't know. I must have rubbed my eye too roughly in the middle of the night because I went to bed without a black eye and I woke up with one!
I also have genetic cholesterol. It took a few years before my meds made a difference. I try to eat oatmeal, but it is too hot now.
I am not complaining about the heat, by the way. That was merely an observation.
Ben, I thought you had a good cholesterol report a while back.

Vibes to Ben! Hope all is well.
I find it rather unsettling that so many people seem to die after having been interviewed by MBarnum. Perhaps Adriana Hofstetter should look into this.
So, DR JMK, what do you do when General Westmoreland hands you lemons?

This is so amazing!
I love tortilla chips but with my temporary crown I have to stay away from them for a while, as well as corn on the cob, apples and other crunchy fruit. Applesauce and yogurt here I come!

When I had my tonsils removed (I was in my mid-20s), they were taken out on a Tuesday morning, I was home by 3:00 that afternoon, and on that Friday, I went out to dinner with the family and I decided to have nachos.
BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!
Please don't do anything like that.

DR George! How completely stupid! Someone should have warned you. Didn't your doctor give you a list of instructions?
I was nearly 30 when mine were removed, and about the third day I was home I had a hemorrhage leate in the evening. My mother took me to the ER to have my throat packed, and my ENT surgeon was luckily there dealing with a tonselectomy by another surgeon who had done such a hatchet job the kid had lost several pints of blood.
My other memory of that tonselectomy is that DR Ginny came to visit and brought me a copy of THE SHINING to read. I finished it in one night because i was too terrified to sleep and, as soon as I was up and about, I hit the public library for CARRIE and 'SALEM'S LOT.
And, DR Elmore, our friend Andrea visited you at the same time I did and she brought you a bag of Doritos!
So, DR JMK, what do you do when General Westmoreland hands you lemons?

So far, so good. I slept through the night and my tooth is still there.
I go in on July 6th to begin work on the permanent crown.
Yes, I've been trying to be better about my diet as well, and this will just be an impetus. I have teeth that need work and bad cholesterol! I'm falling apart.
Ben, I put this off for years, trying one natural remedy after another with middling success, but I finally relented and went on Simvastatin, and a tiny, tiny dose at that, about 4 months ago to improve my cholesterol. It dropped hundreds of points almost overnight, and my lipids also shrank considerably. In fact my doctor said he had never seen such results in 30 years of practice. I actually have to go back for a blood test this morning, as my liver enzymes are just slightly out of whack, one of the side effects.
I'll ask my doctor about Simvastatin. Right now I'm taking fish oil, which is technically a blood thinner and I bruise easily, like DR Ginny. The fact that I met General William Westmoreland and his wife Kitzi (yes, Kitzi) and all I got was two lousy lemons is the cause of some chagrin on my part.
I spent the afternoon remembering why I am not a teacher.
The beautiful gorgeos Rebecca Luker just offered me comps to DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY! It's a plethora, I tell you.
...And since today's rehearsals centered around getting the new cast members up to speed on the fight choreography, I also had a lot of down time in the rehearsal room. It was a nice trade-off from yesterday's schedule.
Simvastatin is the generic for Zocor, IIRC. It's cheap (my 90 day prescription is $4).
I've tried everything, Ben, plus I'm a vegetarian and so eat no red meat, a major cholesterol contributor. I still do fish oil and oatmeal, but other things I've done are Guggul, Red Yeast Rice (which did help a little), plant sterols, etc., etc. My doctor long ago determined I had no dietary reasons for having such high cholesterol, so he absolved me from guilt on that regard. I later found out both of my sisters have been on Simvastatin for years.
I also have genetic cholesterol. It took a few years before my meds made a difference. I try to eat oatmeal, but it is too hot now.
I am not complaining about the heat, by the way. That was merely an observation.

Jose, you said you would conduting some of the performances; will you be playing in the orchestra for the other performances or not?
One new fire yesterday and two new ones today.

You could eat oatmeal cookies. I would think that would still help
I realize that this will sound like major BK ass-kissing, but I can't find the attraction of going to Facebook compared to here. I go there, read whatever new posts pop up on my wall, maybe type a comment or two, and then I am done for the day. What am I missing?
Last night, Nicky woke me up from a sound sleep. I couldn't imagine what could possibly be wrong at that time of night. The time was exactly... ah, .............where is my digital clock radio? Automatic first reaction, turn on my lamp next to my bed. My light doesn't work. A power failure on a warm summer night? Yep. Nicky was crying for his breakfast because it was now seven o'clock in the morning! I was supposed to be at work two hours ago!!
I guess the power failure happened at around 3:00 a.m.. The power was still off at around 8:30 when I checked in with our newspaper from work. Weird feeling all day. Everything was just a little bit off-kilter.

Especially if they're made with real butter. ::)

DR TCB - Exactly! Yes...
I will at the theatre for all eight shows a week once we open. Primarily, I will be playing keyboard in the band/orchestra, but there will be a couple of times when I will be conducting so that the Musical Director can go out into the house and actually watch and listen to the show. -And I have an "understudy" who will play when I'm on the podium.
Oh...
And it looks like I will be conducting one of the previews next weekend. :)

Your work day starts at 5:00am? -I thought you gave up that paper route a while ago? ;)
For example, someone posts that edisaurus is dealing with some personal stuff and doing a movie. That's fine, but then why is she all over Facebook? You see, you see? I think people hang out now on Facebook because they think it's about THEM. Note to errant and truant people on Facebook - it's more about you HERE than there. There are, for example, I don't know, a gazillion people on Facebook.

Are you kidding? I am usually at work before the boys start delivering the newspapers

Overall FB can be faster which is my guess why some go there & skip here. My longer conversations on FB are with people or groups that aren't here.

That is so cool! Almost as cool as LESTAT.
DR TCB sounds like you needed that extra sleep. Did anyone at work try calling you?

Is that normal state government hours? Or are you on flexi-time?

Faster than doing what? I am serious here. Who do you have conversations with on Facebook. I never see anyone on Facebook.

How can you not see anyone on FB? I have conversations just like we are having right now about this subject. I have lots of Bernese Mountain Dog friends & I admit those conversations tend to be the most involved on the whole. I have school friends I wouldn't be in touch with much without FB.
Thank you, Cillaliz, for backing me up on that.
I bruise you
You bruise me
We both bruise too easily
Fr. Richard is home from Lima and Rob has decided to wait until morning to drive to Michigan.

TCB is right again!!
I may frame that post, Cilla!
Wasn't anyone else surprised at how lifelike that robot looked?
I had a good day at physical therapy. I even got to lift a one pound weight with my right arm. He was able to flex my left wrist more, do more stretches with the right shoulder, and even stretch & exercise my left arm some.
I then had a nice walk to the orthopedist's office. I was in and out in ten minutes. I don't have to wear the splint unless I feel the need to, which I had been using less & less anyway. I think I'll still wear it at night as to not accidentally bend my wrist while I sleep.
When I originally saw him & received the diagnoses for the bruised tendon he couldn't really examine it properly due to my level of pain & inability to do anything with it. Today I was able to follow his directions, including making a muscle, which showed him my tendon wasn't bruised. I just have a whopper of a bruised arm. :) This means even though I do something that hurts I'm not damaging my tendon. :D
Okay, here's another post: a co-worker of mine asked if I knew of the musical Ruthless.
And that's my other post. :D

I am back from a wonderful, but long, long evening at Lorraine Serabian's, and since it's so late, I know I will sleep late tomorrow.
BK, I don't mean to be snarky, but instead of posting snarky things about DR edisaurus, you could have emailed her and asked her how she is and what's going on.

hmm I wonder if he needs a personla assistant - I would be willing to do that for 5% of his weekly salary
Speaking of Ruthless, I ran into its star at Gelson's a couple of hours ago. We all loved making that album.
