And the word of the day is: ERUBESCENT!
Now I know this is not from the LA Cast recording. This is in French and it does sound very much like Elmoore's orchestrations to me.

One of the BDs I bought at the Borders GOOB business sale was the much discussed DOWNTON ABBEY, which Betsy and I started last night. What a great show!

Wow! I made the poster. That's exciting.
My friends arrived from Scotland in the late afternoon. We went to dinner and then to the "Sage Gateshead" for the concert. When I had booked the tickets the best available were in the front row, which would have been good but for the fact that there were lecterns for the vocalists in case they needed help with the lyrics. So the show begins and I had good views of everyone but Brent, but I can tell you he had tassels on his shoes.
For the second act I moved down 3 seats to a vacant seat (that I had actually paid for --I had thought my friend from the Netherlands was coming when I bought the tickets).
The show was the same as the previous one---just great! There was a little glitch. Anthony Andrews read a long introduction to "They Called the Wind Maria," which all 4 singers were to perform. I was wondering why the sheet music on the violinists' stands was for "Mimi's Waltz" ( I think that was it) from Gigi. Well, he finished the introduction and the conductor, John Wilson, stepped up to the microphone and said, "but, before that" and then proceeded with the Gigi song.

Some of the kittens are able to be near certain kittens. I may try to take them this afternoon. Purrcy and Sunshine, however, can't be near anyone without hissing and growling.

Do they hiss and growl at humans or just other kittens?

Well that's good. I was concerned that they may hiss and growl at all the potential adoptive parents
I watched a couple of episodes of Rin Tin Tin on Antenna TV this morning.....and ALL of the original music has been replaced with some tinny kind of synthesizer stuff.....
I almost mentioned that there was a big plastic garbage bag on the floor, but then I realized that that was one of the pieces of "art."

I know, isn't that horrible! It should be against the law to do that. I simply have not been able to watch any further episodes, it was so annoying.

The poster is cute, but someone might want to tell them it would be nice to fix the spelling of Mr. Wechter's last name.
Also, elmore, congrats on being on the poster. Is that unusual?

*As a bonus, you get to hear bk's dulcet tones too!
Well, Kim and four kittens (Shades, Shanti, Mink, and Feathers) are at adoptions. Purrcy is still very growly, and Sunshine is a little growly. Hopefully tomorrow.
The gremlins have struck again in the apartment. I had a glass of soda earlier that I set down somewhere, and although I've looked everywhere in this apartment, I don't know where it is. I cannot find it. This is most distressing.
What I'd really like is some PIE, but I will not succumb, oh, no, I will not succumb.

In other news...I have that phone call to make later.
I called my Mom earlier...
Now, I knew that it had been a couple of weeks since I've talked to my parents, but...
Well...
Of course, the phone call only ended up lasting about 45 seconds... 30 of which was spent asking why I hadn't called sooner.
::)
Walking along creek on the outside of the park we heard a lot of cheering & saw a young woman soaking wet & wearing a cute summer skirt & top hugging a guy in a swimsuit. After she got out someone else went in, which in when I decided we were watching people get baptized.
DR JMK they were slightly downstream from where I found you in the wading area.
I've never seen anyone baptized before.
I very foolishly left Jason Graae in my cramped little mailbox last night. He is now safely in the apartment, and he sounds fantastic.
Betsy and I had to put DOWNTOWN ABBEY on pause today when Maggie Smith uttered the unforgettable:One of her more brilliant moments.
"What is a week-end?"
Purrcy and Sunshine are very purry with people. It's just with the other cats they are growly.
Tonight I decided to use the panko. There was a recipe on the box for Macadamia nut/panko breaded chicken breasts. I didn't have macadamia nuts and I only had chicken thighs in the freezer (they were on sale a while back) So I grabbed some pecans and made pecan/panko breaded chicken thighs. I baked it instead of frying. I can tell you one thing, it was filling. The jury is still out on whether I really like it or not. It was ok. The panko may be better fried. Anyway, I have lots of leftovers to eat the next couple days
When you fry it let me know what you think.
I don't think I have picked out a cat since I was in high school. I just acquired them in one way or another. That's what happened with the cat from backdoor. He much prefers me to his owners.

I made Sugar Pie last year when Indianapolis was in the Super Bowl. It's a little different because of the buttermilk, but believe me, both are good. Too good.(http://www.savorsa.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Buttermilk-Cafe-buttermilk-pie.jpg)

Mmmm, that looks like what we used to call Sugar Pie when my grandmother made it!
Do you hear that?? It's rain.
DR Jose I'm sorry but I laughed. Your parents are something else, in a funny good way. :)
Nope. I'm totally safe.

I had ice cream.
I had no ice cream and no PIE. Maybe I'll be super good tomorrow with what I eat at lunch and then I'll go to Marie Callender's and have PIE. If one has the pumpkin or the custard or the cherry, it's no more calories than a donut.
Man, that chocolate peanut butter pie sounds great! I wonder if they ship to LA?

Just finished listening to the Jason Graae: Perfrect Hermany.
You have to submit it for the Grammy consideration in the Traditional Pop Vocal Album. I think it's worth the attempt. That's how good it is.
