And the word of the day is: MOXIE!
Dad was very confused last night - I am hoping it was as a result of his pain meds
The laundry is finished. as soon as the perspiration dries - It's quite warm and humid outside - I will put it away and proceed to the next task.
Thanks DR ELMORE....should be painless.
That song is exactly how I fee DR ARNOLD M BROCKMAN!
Great news, BK!
When you started out with "I am a puddle of tears right now," I was thinking that something horrible happened.
Lovely photos yesterday from DR JOSE and DR JANE.
Callie is feeling good too

Oh, so now we're charging each other, are we? ;D
The washed bedding is on the bed, the laundry is put away, I've vacuumed and had some breakfast, and I can either clean the bathroom or tackle the refrigerator. I think I'll clean the bathroom and leave the defrosting till this afternoon.
has anyone listened to the new KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY recording? I like much of it, but I'm unhappy that it's a live concert, since there are some bungled lyrics and poor sound balances, and it's cut. We're midding about fifteen minutes of the entire score including the wonderful "Algonquins from Harlem" swing dance. "The Bachelor's Song" was cut during the out-of-town tryout, probably to cut the wait for Walter Huston's entrance, and I really love the song. Chris Fitzgerald does a great job with it.

Chris Fitzgerald and his soccer calves.
My mother was hilarious yesterday. We went to a garage sale down the street. I got some things and she did too. We had to have help carrying the box full of stuff she got. Then we did some things and she said "you know, I'd really like to get the silverware they had, it goes with my set" so we went back and I carried another big box of things she decided she needed. A little later she said "Why don't we go see if they are still out there" So we walked down and everything was half price. LOL, yes, I carried another big box of stuff to her house. You'd think at 84 years old she'd be getting rid of things and not getting more things.

You can never have too much STUFF!
I just finished watching GERONIMO: An American Legend.Stranger things have happened. :D
According to the film, Geronimo surrendered on September 6, 1886.
My father was born on September 1, 1886.
:o
I'm not claiming that the two events are related.
I just thought that was interesting.
::)
Ginny, I loved seeing the banns. Every time I see that word I think of the kid in 'Spellbound" who gets knocked out of the spelling bee for not knowing it.
Good news about the new Kritzerland release.......wonder what it could be? I shall have to read some of the BK books to see if I can figure it out.
I am pretty sure it is NOT Ronald Stein's score from RUNAWAY DAUGHTERS.

Thanks, DR John G. It was the first time in his priestly life that Richard had read the banns - for anyone. I'm surprised he (and I) got through it without choking up.
DR Jane, I am so glad to see that you have returned.
Off to the meeting.

Hi Jose. What is egg pie?
DR Ginny my father's name was Charles Robert.
Hi Jose. What is egg pie?
Isn't it like a quiche?
Hi Jose. What is egg pie?
Isn't it like a quiche?
My 1st guess but it could be like an egg custard pie.
I once slept with a guy named Robert.
Today, I'm going to help my sister and her boyfriend move the refrigerator that's in her garage to our parents' house. My sister doesn't use it and my mom wants one in her garage. I don't think that it'll be too difficult, just heavy.
After that, I'm supposed to meet my friend Margo and her friend Marsha for a late lunch at the local Panera's, but I'm also supposed to go to my parents' for dinner. Oh, what to do? That might be a bit too much to eat...but we'll see. ;) I can easily eat light at Panera's so that I can have something at my parents'.
Yeah, the documentary.Ginny, I loved seeing the banns. Every time I see that word I think of the kid in 'Spellbound" who gets knocked out of the spelling bee for not knowing it.
Ohhhhh, that SPELLBOUND.
As I was saying...Well, that made me hungry.
Today is E. Faye Butler's last day as Aunt Eller. -Terry Burrell starts on Tuesday. Well...
During one of her exits, E. Faye would make ad lib about cooking something in her kitchen. Each day she would be cookin' up something different. So...
In honor of her last day, the cast and crew hosted a potluck dinner between shows based on the various foods that she had rattled off over the past couple of weeks and months. A list went up and people chose the food they wanted to cook. So...
Baked Ham
Fried Chicken
Pork Ribs
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Okra and Tomatoes
Fried Corn
Collard Greens
Rutabagas
Cornbread
Deviled Eggs
Hoe Cakes
Plum Preserves
Green Beans
Egg Pie
Banana Pudding
Custard with Raspberry Syrup
Fried Green Tomatoes
Etc., etc., etc.
There was a LOT of food.
My niece with her two nephews, our two grand nephews.

Why do you ask like that?
The view of Lake Arrowhead taken after the wedding was over.
Melody had the best rehearsal she's had. We didn't actually have people there (I guess people are busy on Sundays at two). There are certain things we've been working on religiously, most importantly, how to take charge from the first entrance and never let the audience go, ever. Today, for the first time, she did exactly that - she was superb. Her moves were sharp, her energy was high, her vocals were great and she really took control of her patter. It was so much fun to see. She knew it right away, too. I only had three teeny-tiny little notes. We're doing one more run on Tuesday night - but she is VERY ready.Great to hear. And would love to hear her one of these days. Any videos of her on youtube yet?

Great view.
I spent many summer vacations at Arrowhead.

I've been watching a talented friend - one who's neither a go-getter nor, I fear, a survivor - on the road to Crash and Burn today. I can do nothing but watch this occur and wonder why the hell someone with so much potential got himself into this condition. It's truly appalling.
I can't say more than I have, but this friend needs some serious vibes, so please send them.

And now, I'm off to Panera for some yummy food and friendly conversation.
Be back later.

*I watched from the podium during the matinee, and I'm watching from the house tonight... It really is a beautiful production of a beautiful show. :)

It could be anything from diet to needed meds, but that doesn't make it any easier on him or his friends.

And we had lunch at Panera today...
Yours too, Cillaliz. They both are funny.
We're recording Melody's show - if I think it comes out well, I may release it on Kritzerland - I'm leaning towards wanting to.That's wonderful
Well... After two and a half weeks of rehearsal and five weeks of performances, OKLAHOMA! managed to make me cry. A few times. :)I wondered if -- and when -- it would do that.
Just finished watching THE CAINE MUTINY.That was the movie my parents saw on their first date.
Great movie.
Bogart is sensational.

I was particularly impressed with Parker Esse's choreography - and the very fine dancers in our cast executing his choreography. "Kansas City" - which you can see bits & pieces of on Arena's site - really gets the audience going at the start, and the Dream Ballet is stunning. -There are also some wonderfully effective and evocative lighting effects too. -And my Dream Curly is even more dreamy when he's dancing. ;)
That's the one I thought. We don't call it that out here. We call it a red bird of paradise. And I guess if you grow it out there, it must be drought tolerant.
