Well, you've read the notes, the notes had melody and landed, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently residing in MOOlodyland.

I have the picture disk from CAMELOT and shall upload and edit the photos and then put them on the website.

Family night went very well.....except for the last light cue....

I have made an interesting discovery....MY script from 1993 and the script from Tams-Witmark do not match in the final scene.  A couple of Arthur's speeches are switched around.....

".......run, boy, run....."   now comes before  "......some of them do sparkle...."   So when the lights went down on "Run, boy, run....."   Arthur and Pellinore were still talking.....

Good morning, all! I slept late until 8 am, got up, showered and dressed, got my coffee, took my meds, and then discovered that my imternet connection was gone. It caame up around 9, and Ihave answered emails, checked my bank balance, and all is good.

This morning Joe Csibi of Chapter Productions sent me three mp3 files of coloratura soprano Mary O'Sullivan, singing Musetta's Waltz, Adele's Laughing Song, and "Glitter and Be Gay." She went straighht to the top of my list for the leading role of Eileen, so it's now between her and Marcella Walsh.

As for the remainder of the day, putzing about the apartment, taking a nice walk, and final preparatons for Dublin, like printing dialogue sheets and breakdowns, putting crap away, thinking about my shopping list of things to take.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Break A Leg Vibes to Melody and BK for tonight! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had meant to comment on the CAMELOT libretto problems: 1958 London libretto has major rewrites of the last scene and the screenplay has others. I think the T-W script is the original Broadway or touring libretto since that's what Tams contracted for. I always lke the London scene better.
I am once again on a huge Incognito kick.  I had never heard of this band until I had to review a BD of their 30th anniversary London concert, and I was hooked.  Imagine Earth, Wind & Fire jamming with Sergio Mendes and maybe Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and a few others and you have some ideas of the sonic delights in store.
Since I'm leaving bright and early Friday morning for San Diego, I need to get some of my pre-trip stuff done today - especially since I have understudy rehearsal today and tomorrow in addition to the shows in the evening. Thankfully, one of the cast members is letting me crash at his place tomorrow night so that my trek to BWI will only take 30 minutes instead of a possible 60-90 minutes on Friday morning.
This will dismay that dreaful E&T Mr Farrow of Manchester; I said the same things about the last Trevor Nunn adapration in the West End, not as radical a revision, but attempting to make the piece a musical and transposing roles and using a tiny orchestra. Mr Farrow was apoplectic and quite ugly about my protests to what was being done. He sure likes to feel superior.
Rex talks not only about his films like THIS ISLAND EARTH, LADY GODIVA, BAND OF ANGELS, THUNDERING JETS, THE SAD HORSE, and THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, but also about his near death experience while doing his TV series MAN WITHOUT A GUN, his close encounter with a naked Rock Hudson, and his death defying fight scene with Jack Palance.
He also tellsl about his sudden departure from show business just as his career was going gang busters and what he has been doing since.
Marcella or Mary? Mary or Marcella? Which soprano do I cast as the lead?
Here's Marcella Walsh singing "O Mio Babbino Caro" in performance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUvS0Z4JxyA
Here's Mary O'Sullivan with Andrew Ashwn, one of our options for Shaun Dhu, the smuggler:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpVTfM0-Rmk
DR elmore - Do you need to get all of these singers/roles cast before next week? Are all of these singers currently available?
We need to decide ASAP. If we go with Marcella, she has commitments in London to get disentangled from.
No wonder you are having a difficult time deciding.  Does your comment mean you are leaning towards Marcella?  If not, then cast the one that doesn't need disentangling ;)
The person with the checkbook has come down in favor of Marcella, so I guess she will get the offer. I like them both but I'm leaning toward Mary because i like the lightness and agility of her of voice. I think she sounds a bit younger. Either will be fine. Two days ago we had no options.
I've been trying to get everything done.  We now have a sound man for both days but a cameraman for only one.  I'll have my Flip Camera with me, or maybe we'll rent the same camera we're using Monday and someone can show me how it works.  For what we're doing on Tuesday, it's literally just a master shot (two people) and two close-ups - no camera movement or anything.
I have the picture disk from CAMELOT and shall upload and edit the photos and then put them on the website.
Family night went very well.....except for the last light cue....
I have made an interesting discovery....MY script from 1993 and the script from Tams-Witmark do not match in the final scene.  A couple of Arthur's speeches are switched around.....
".......run, boy, run....."   now comes before  "......some of them do sparkle...."   So when the lights went down on "Run, boy, run....."   Arthur and Pellinore were still talking.....
Glad the show went well.
I had meant to comment on the CAMELOT libretto problems: 1958 London libretto has major rewrites of the last scene and the screenplay has others. I think the T-W script is the original Broadway or touring libretto since that's what Tams contracted for. I always lke the London scene better.
I like Richard Harris' rewrite, not that I necessarily liked his performance. But he started it with the ending, using it as a frame for the piece, so the darkness is there at the beginning. At least it provided a more consistent tone.
*And even though I know he worked with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the Spanish lyrics for the recent Broadway revival of West Side Story, I would love to know what he thought of the musical bastardizations changes in that production.
The fact that they dropped the Spanish, or most of it, after a while might say something to that issue.
Rex talks not only about his films like THIS ISLAND EARTH, LADY GODIVA, BAND OF ANGELS, THUNDERING JETS, THE SAD HORSE, and THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, but also about his near death experience while doing his TV series MAN WITHOUT A GUN, his close encounter with a naked Rock Hudson, and his death defying fight scene with Jack Palance.
He also tellsl about his sudden departure from show business just as his career was going gang busters and what he has been doing since.
I will tomorrow if the problem continues.  I asked the mother of the groom if they are registered anywhere else.
I'm very disappointed we can't attend.  It is just too soon after returning home from our niece's wedding.  We have known the mother of the groom for 42 years when we moved into her apartment building after our wedding.  She graduated high school with Bruce though he doesn't remember her.  She remembers him as he called her Mouse.  I'm sure because she was just so darn cute & small.
I have been mad all day.  I finally had to say "I am not leaving here until my client is released from jail"  I followed a probation officer around who had to review the paperwork we had completed (which included me running all over town).  I was given the runaround and the around a run by the jerks in the marshal's office.   I was SOOO disgusted.  Anyway, if he didn't get released today, there won't be a judge here for another week.  So I made like the pesky lawyer in The Closer and just refused to leave until he got out.   I was still making calls after hours, but I was told he was being released.   If he wasn't there will be hell to pay in the morning.
