And the word of the day is: BILLET!
DR JOSE:
And two bits.
Opening night break-a-leg vibes to DR JRand and the CAMELOT company!
Oh hell. DR ELMORE - I'll sing Eileen for you.
Funny that PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE should be referenced, as I just last night was joking with Gabe about it. The only two films which totally freaked him out when he was young were PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE (due to that horribly morphing truck driver early on) and DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE (due to the banshee). We were giggling pretty heartily last night about these two movies being the ones that freaked him out so badly.
Opening night break-a-leg vibes to DR JRand and the CAMELOT company!
Congrats, too, to MBARNUM on his published article.
While driving to Carmel on the winding coast road we were the second car stuck behind two idiot drivers up ahead. For 45 minutes, far below the speed limit, we followed a white SUV with a paw print sticker on the back & the name Zoe above the paw print. We kept trying to figure out what the large, Sherlock size, dog in the back was but it was difficult to see through the tinted windows.
While we were talking to Sidney & her family in comes a St. Bernard named Zoe, & yes they were also as frustrated as we were. In fact they turned off the road before we did which is why they arrived at our hotel after we did. They had heard of Sherlock & knew who we were.
.... "Postal Card" is no longer the weirdest song I've ever heard. It's some song about a boy from a place with an impossibly long name. One thing I noticed is that there were no programs, which is good because programs can spoil the surprise element, but bad because if you really like something, and you want to know what the heck it was, you have nothing to refer to. Bruce, what was the name of that crazy song?

Jane, are people stalking you...or Sherlock??
;)
The three sneezy kittens are sneezing and playing. Mother Kim is hissing at everyone.

Did you really expect them to pick her up after the way they gave her to you?
Oh... That's right... Ali Hakim is only in one song...

Silly me! After all these years I still keep trying to have a bit of faith in my fellow man.

Very much the same as I have cleared my life of friends since this latest health crisis. I have a knack!
Amy, the song was The Boy From... written by Mary Rodgers and Stephen Sondheim for The Mad Show.

Did anyone watch FALLING SKIES? We are watching it now & have three episodes left. We like it so much we watch 2-3 episodes at a time.
How many do you have left to watch?
Hmm, "where it is going" sounds like I will still be wondering once I'm done-lol.
George do you think it matters if I don't watch all three tonight? Last night we watched Sanctuary part 1 & 2 & it was definitely a continuation of one story. The finale doesn't say it is 2 parts, only 2 hours.
Thanks for the Ben Brantley link, FJL. If any of you read it, read Bob Gunton's hilarious response among the comments afterward. And, of course, FJL's lyrics.
A good editor would do that. Or do you find it too much?
I read a book last year called "The Shallows" and it talked about how such links keep people from remembering stories in a linear fashion, so they don't remember all the details correctly.A good editor would do that. Or do you find it too much?
Oh no, not too much at all. As i said, i think it's fun - both that Brantley does stuff like that in the ArtsBeat blog and that the editor follows through with the links to the actual songs. Also smart, in that it seems it probably keeps people on the Times page longer.

Now, in a piece like this, that's OK. In a story about a medical treatment or a Ponzi scheme or something convoluted, it may be a different story. But it's always interesting to hear what people think of such things.
