Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both relaxed and in a state of high dudgeon, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're in a state of medium dudgeon at the MOOment.

Sometimes it is hard to determine what is a TV movie and what is a "TV Movie" that really was a pilot for a television series. Or is a two-part movie a "mini-series" or a movie.

Universal and ABC's movie of the "week" were pioneers. There some great movies made back in the 60's, 70's & 80's. Things changed when the 3 major networks basically stopped making the TV movie and HBO and SHowtime took over. (I didn't have these channels for the longest time)

Here are some that come to mind.

Duel
A Case of Rape (Elizabeth Montgomery)
A Storm in Summer
Playing For Time
Andre's Mother
The Day After That

Good morning, all! I forced myself to sleep in until 9am, and now that I am up, dressed, and moving about, I have things to accomplish or at least begin. The Herbert piano and cello music now has an approximate release date, so I've got liner notes to begin. Last night I was emailed the New World Records guidelines, along with a pithy epistle from the man with the bank account. I need to clean off my writing table and cogitate.

I have no more news. I need more coffee.

MR BK it is midnight at the oasis, put the projects to bed.

I think a new You Tube channel for the series is a good idea - otherwise someone new to the series after a few episodes might have to look through several other things to find an episode.

Btw, I think 3lbs in 2 weeks seems like an okay weight loss.  I think if you weighed more the weight would be coming off faster.

Do you still only eat once a day?  Have you tried eating a few much smaller meals?

I'm still trying to get off the extra pounds too. I haven't weighed myself all month. But i do notice a difference in how i look, which is better than nothing. :)

So many for me in TOD....so many good ones already mentioned.

A CASE OF RAPE had an outstanding performance by Elizabeth Montgomery...wow!

SMASH UP ON INTERSTATE FIVE - we see the huge pile up during the credits....and then go back 24 hours in the lives of those involved.....

THE HOUSE ON GREEN APPLE ROAD - a murder mystery

THE DEADLY TOWER with Kurt Russell was also outstanding.

DR TCB - There is still some buzz about some sort of transfer coming from places both legit and internet-legit ;). There were actually some tweets the other day about it posted by Howard Sherman who recently stepped down as head of The Broadway League), as well as Peter Marks from The Washington Post. -I guess if they were hearing things, well... One supposedly hopeful note is that it appears that the set will be put back in storage and not torn down after we close on October 2. Then again, maybe they just want to save the lumber for next Spring's production of The Music Man? One never knows...

I'm happy - we're all happy we've had such a long run by DC standards - 12 weeks! Work is good. Work on a good show is even better. Nothing to be sad about there.

DR JRand - When you posted yesterday:

"I would like to be in my 170's.......I would have a whole new wardrobe."

...I first thought you were talking about being 170 years old. So my response was going to be: "A casket?"

::)
Title: Re: HIGH DUDGEON

bk - The more you "yo-yo" with your weight losses and gains, the harder and slower it gets to take it off again each time you try to drop some pounds. However, three pounds in two weeks is a very sensible pace of weight loss. The slower the weight loss, the less likely you are to put the weight back on since it means you're adjusting your eating habits. -Now as to whether or not eating one meal a day is a good eating habit, well... ::)

-And, remember, as long as your clothes are fitting better, then you know that progress is being made.

Maybe I'll just take a nap.

I may just do the same thing.

Although, as I've been discovering ever since I got out of bed, my lower back is feeling a bit twinge-y. Yes, the 12 hours of sleep was a good and much-needed thing. However, 12 hours on a mattress that is a bit softer than what I need, well... I'm doing some stretches now, and that's helping a lot.

Well...

Over the past couple of hours I decided to not take a nap. Instead, I followed up on some emails, did some laundry and even did some final (I hope) corrections on the keyboard part I cobbled together for Oklahoma!. -R&H will be gathering back all of our orchestra parts for this production, and I want to make sure they get as error-free copy of my work that I can give them.

I didn't take a nap either.  I went out and got a small hot fudge sundae, then I went for a bike ride on my electric bike - Finally the weather is good to ride it - then I started trimming the lowest branches of my big spruce treel  It's got some problems and I'm thinking the air can't circulate around the bottom, so I'm trimming it a little and taking out the dead branches.  I could only do it for awhile before I was pretty pooped out

I just got the most touching email from a friend of 33 years or so who's just ended his marriage of 25 years because he's decided that he's gay. His wife and children are handling things well. The last time I saw him in Manhattan, about a year and a half ago, when he was in for some arts council program he's working with and we had dinner, he made a comment that had me thinking, that sounded awfully gay. Things and times change.

I wish him well and much happiness.

I have changed my mind about Rachael on BB.   I like her a lot now.

For some reason there are a lot of people who are saying the same thing.

I think that a lot of people like her without Brendan.

Or maybe they just dislike Porsche and Kalia.

Some also like that she is such a competitor.

Or maybe they are just editing her better :)

Actually probably a lot is that she is with Jordan and everyone loves her.

Tomorrow I have a physical at 2:00 PM.   I guess that means I have to fast all day.  Think I'll head a good meal tonight. I'm thinking about whipping up a batch of chili.  It's cool weather, supposed to get into the 40s again tonight....chili weather.

Will the doctor be drawing blood?  I give at the hospital so I go one morning when it is convenient for me.  Last time I went prior to my doctor's appointment which I plan to do from now on.

DR elmore I'm impressed with the family of your friend, at least the wife.  I would expect the children to be supported, however, if I were the wife I would be rather pissed at him for taking so long.

I wish him the very best.  It must have been very difficult.  After watching FAR FROM HEAVEN, Keith & I both felt the story of Randy Quaid's character should have been more developed so we had a better understanding of what he was going through.

Going through some old VCR tapes (remember them) I discovered copies of the two plays I wrote (directed one of them) and another play I directed and also a tv commercial  and movie (the only lead I ever did) that was scrapped.

I've been trying to burn them to a dvd. Want to do this before the tapes dry out. I've trying to do them though two older machines, but have not been able to successfully do it. So frustrating!!

I think I will have to buy a new machine that is combines the vcr and dvd burner together.

I just caught the episode of THE CLOSER that I missed while I was in Ireland. Pope has lied to Brenda about the city paying for her lawyer and Fritz knows already he's a shit. What's going to happen in these last two episodes?

Hmmmm. . .

I will miss this series, but I'm starting to get into THE MENTALIST reruns.

...But before the downpour came, I managed to make it inside Sichuan Village. I had passed this place many times, but never gave it a second thought since there are big signs in their window: BUFFET! Well... Washingtonian Magazine recently came out with their "Cheap Eats" issue, and Sichuan Village listed. It turns out they also have a truly authentic Sichuan and Chengdu menu - and five Sichuan/Szechuan-trained chefs in the kitchen. Well...

The Dan Dan Noodles, Spicy Cabbage and Cumin Lamb truly made my tastebuds happy. It almost made me feel like I was dining at one of my favorite Chinese places back in Flushing, Queens.

When I requested the "menu" side of the restaurant, I got a very quizzical look from the waitress ("Are you sure?"). But once I started to ask about some of the menu items, I could tell that the waitress was happy to learn that I was familiar with the dishes listed on their menu.

Best of all, there was enough Spicy Cabbage and Cumin Lamb left over for my lunch tomorrow.

Actually, that didn't happen.  I decided to look in the garage storage room for something as I was getting ready to go to the store.   I started looking in boxes that have been out there since I moved in here and found a bunch of treasures that have been packed up for years.  SO, I ended up bringing a number of boxes in, sorting through them and putting away the treasures.  It was really cool .   I didn't have dinner until 9:00.....a big bowl of chicken noodle soup.

Does anyone watch Castle?  The promo makes me want to watch the season premier.  I've only see a few episodes

I really like this show.  The banter/chemistry between Castle and Beckett is quite good.  I can't imagine that a pairing like this could happen in real life, but that's what TV is for, right?

My Irish actor's cousin Colin is on RIZZOLI & ISLES again tonight.

My niece loves this show.  I've been recording it for her.  She'll buy the DVDs once they're released (and she's assuming that they will be), but until then, she's watching them as they're broadcast and she'll have the burned DVDs that I make.

i had so much fun finding the treasures in my garage.  A few things were fragile and a few valuable and I'm shocked they are still in good shape after this many years.

When I sold my house at the lake I threw out a lot of stuff, donated some, and gave away a lot, so some things I can't find from time to time, I figured were gone.   When I left the lake many of the boxes were just stored in my basement in my old house in Sioux City and when I moved here they were just moved unopened.  Many of them were just stacked by the movers in the storeroom in my garage.  I've been  thinking I'll go through them later, but I never do. Tonight I was frustrated when I couldn't find something I KNOW I didn't get rid of.  I didn't find what I was looking for tonight,  but I found many other things that I really want to keep and I  had no idea that some of the things I found out there were there.

I also found a few things that I've kept since I was a kid and I may try to sell on eBay ...

Yeah, some are things like my autograph books from grade school, my calendar from high school where I wrote EVERYTHING.  A couple journals....then there is my Royals plate collection.  I have Queen Elizabeth's coronation, the Royal family when they were young.  the queen's silver jubilee, charles and di's wedding, and expecting the first child.   I stopped the collection after that, lol.   I guess I could check out eBay to see about the rest of the events since then

Some final thoughts on weekend cat-sitting.

Despite the headway I thought I'd made Friday evening with Miss V (the "V" is for "Valentina"), I never saw her again.  Not of her own volition, that is.  She remained firmly planted under her mistress' bed during my visits Saturday and Sunday.  I let her be, but I did get on hands and knees to ensure I could see she was there and alive.  Of course, her food plate was my best clue.

Karen, her mistress, stopped by to pick up her key and asked me how things went.  I told her all I'd reported here about Miss V's activities (or lack, thereof).  I was warmly thanked.

I learned that Miss V left a prezzy for Karen's boyfriend on his bathroom rug.  I never looked in there, so I don't know when it was left.   Miss V was obviously not a happy camper with the household situation.   She did come out for Karen and allowed herself to be stroked for a short while...and then it was back under the bed.

Karen acknowledges there is mutual loathing between Miss V and "Tom", the boyfriend.   Oh, well.

Miss Vee is not amused with the condition of her home since Tom moved in, apparently.

And right now, I'm watching the DVD of a Lifetime made-for-TV movie, Prayers for Bobby (http://www.amazon.com/Prayers-Bobby-Ryan-Kelley/dp/B0042EJDCQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1315287564&sr=1-1).  Talk about emotional. :'( It's a real-life story about a conservative religious woman played by Sigourney Weaver whose son Bobby killed himself when he was 20 years old.  She eventually questions her strict beliefs and becomes a gay rights advocate.  According to the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prayers_for_Bobby), it was nominated for several awards, and it won the 2010 GLAAD Award.
