Well, you've read the notes, the notes were Rosh Hashanah-like and wished everyone a wonderful Jewish New Year, and now it is time for you to post until the Hassidic cows come home.

And the word of the day is: MOIETY!

And don't forget to subscribe to our web series channel - that way you'll be all ready when we put up the trailer and then debut the show.

A Very Happy Birthday to DR John G.!! ;D
-
Happy day to John G.
-
Jose, he's working in small stages but I also have/had a lot of work to be done. Most of it is finished. I now have to wait for the crown to be made and put in and then I have just one more tooth to fix which requires a root canal, the post/prep work, taking the impression and making the crown and then the installation of said crown and then I will be done.
It takes some extra time because every procedure has to be reviewed/OKed by one of the dental faculty who supervises each dental student. Each procedure is also limited to only two hours. Someone else may have the chair scheduled for the next two hour slot so they try to come to a finishing point each time so you aren't left with problems when you leave.
The school was also closed for 2 weeks in late August, reopening the day after Labor Day so that took away two appointment slots as well.
It's winding down and by Thanksgiving I think I should be finished. Hoo and Ray!

Mentloned Seth McFarlane's new cd. I listen to the clips that amazon provided.
Good voice, but I'm hearing Brian The Dog singing which I gather is the closest to Set M's real voice.
He is also releasing it on vinyl!!!

Good morning, all! I slept well, and I have a busy day today. My first stop in the MTA office to initiate my senior citizen fare reduction. After that I have a round of photyocopying music for Drew Massey, the musicologst doing the liner notes for this New World Records release. That's followed up by a trip to the US post office to send te music over night to Drew. After al of that, we'llsee what new fresh hell awaits.
Yesterday afternoon was crazy; a very nice lady who has a great deal to do with the music of Victor Herbert learned of the EILEEN recording through a couple of my friends. I think she took it as a deliberate snub that I hadn't contacted her about it. Rather than call me or email me to ask about it, she sent several inquiries on the recording to various folk, even though she knew much more than she was letting on. I feel quite bad that I let the recording slip by her attention; there was no intention to slight anyone; July and the first weeks of August were a madhouse to finish the music, cast the singers, and record. What I'm not happy about is her current approach with her emails; it made for a testy and unpleasanr afternoon. It can only lead to more unpleasantness.

Happy happy day to dear John G!

Happy Rush-a Home-ah (the day before Rosh Hashanah when everyone rushes home)

I send thanks to all the DRs with the DC reports on the Library of Congress being open next week. I spent some time yesterday pondering my options about going with Amtrak and the hotel, and things seem okay now for my trip. That's a big relief.
-
Happy Rosh Hashanah and early Happy Yom Kippur.
-
Happy Birthday DR JOHNG
-
I haz subscribed to the Web Series!
Super vibes for DR TCB.
-
I may buy Mr McFarlane's CD.....I am still pondering it.
Comcast is supposed to come this morning to see why two of my HD channels are tiling.
-
Zumba in a couple of hours.
DR ELMORE thank you so much for mentioning the LA VIE PARISIENNE dvd - what great fun....it was so funny, and the design, direction, and choreography was outstanding!
I liked everyone, but particularly Marc Callahan as Bobinet and Marie Devellereau in all of her roles! Didn't really like the Metella....although the Baron and his wife were okay. The ensemble - dancing AND singing - were glorious. I supposed it would have been TOO distracting if Callahan had forgotten his undies when his admiral uniform split in the back....and the seesaw table...LOL
The two scenes in front of the wall of lights are both hilarious......
Fun for all....

What is your favorite opera that you have seen?

Quiet morning at HHW.
-
DR MBARNUM when do you leave for Hollywood?
-
A Happy Birthday to DR John G.!! By all means, yes.
-
And a Happy New Year to all- no matter what you believe.
-
It's a grey day here in Manhattan.
I spent yesterday after work in the dentist chair. Today after work I'm going out for a drink with two colleagues to celebrate my 20 years at the Foundation Center. I started, full-time, on October 1 1991. If they included all my time it would be 28 years. I began as a temp in 1983 when I was still an actor and from 1983 to 1991 I worked at the Foundation Center at some point during each of those years, even if it was only for a few weeks. Wow, 20 years. Whoda thunk it. And I'll probably be here another 7 or 8 years since I can't afford to retire unless I win the lottery. I like to do those luxurious things, like eat and have health insurance and live in a decent apartment.

Happy Birthday to John G!
-
GLEE was fun last night.
-
DR TCB so sorry to hear about your day. Hope today is much better!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
DR Cillaliz, do you have a favorite on DANCING WITH THE STARS yet?
Not sure who mine is yet. But i have a few contenders.
I like Kristin and Mark. I still like Hope and Maks. But i was disappointed with her this week. I know she's busy. But she is athletic and has potential. But it didn't seem like she put the time in. Her jive kicks were pretty bad.
Surprisingly i love Carson and Anna. I don't normally like people who aren't very good. But it is obvious that he is completely uncoordinated. Yet he put in the most time to try to do the best he could. I respect that. And he loves it so much and is so fun to watch.
I also sort of like Kym and David.
Undecided about Ricki/Derek and Karina/JR. Both teams are very good. And i like both of the pros. I think these teams could go very far.
-
Happy Birthday to DR JohnG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Damn! It is horribly humid. I've been to 3 Stone Street and dealt with the MTA folk, and I've. arrived at Toyland with my new Senior Citizen Metrocard, good until 2014.
Nothing's changed here, and since status quo at Toyland is a good thing, I can leave it with a clear conscience.
I've been in touch with my favorite librarians, Loras and Mark, and I guess my DC trip is on schedule.
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR John G!
-
We are now probably in W I D E S C R E E N.....but just for a few posts.
My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is your favorite opera to listen to?
What is your favorite opera that you have seen?
I'm an opera novice. I like all of Puccini and Madame Butterfly best. But I also am a very big fan of American opera and love Robert Ward's The Crucible. I suppose seen would be Madame Butterfly.
-
And I'm up and awaiting the arrival of the helper and CDs.
-
Happy 20th to Ben!
-
Happy Rosh Hashanah and early Happy Yom Kippur.
Not really supposed to wish someone a "Happy Yom Kippur" :-)
What you say is "Have an easy fast" as Yom Kippur is the day of atonement.
OK, I've mopped up an AAUW mess and now I think I'll go for a cardio walk in the basement...
-
I am in our client's Philly office today. I'm thinking of going out for a walk at lunchtime, but it's so dreary and humid outside.
-
Good Morning! Good Afternoon!
I'm up, I'm up... And it's been an interesting weather day so far here in Northern Virginia.
-
I actually slept in today. Again. Which was much needed. :)
I also slept on my brother's living room couch last night since the mattress in his spare bedroom has been the culprit of my lower back pain. A lot less twinge-y this morning.
-
Oh...
It was raining earlier this morning, complete with some thunder and lightning.
Then it stopped for a bit.
Then it started back up again.
Right now, it's bright and sunny outside - and I'm guessing humid (I haven't stepped outside yet) - but there are thunderstorms in the forecast for the rest of the afternoon.
-
Exciting, huh?
-
As for last night's "Glee", well...
My brother's DVR/Cable box continues to not record anything, so... I'll catch it online later.
-
Damn! It is horribly humid. I've been to 3 Stone Street and dealt with the MTA folk, and I've. arrived at Toyland with my new Senior Citizen Metrocard, good until 2014.
DR elmore - Sounds like getting your Senior Citizen MetroCard was a relatively easy process. I was all set to hear some major tale of an MTA employee's incompetence. ::)
-
DR elmore - Since I'm dealing with a similar situation right now with BFS, is it possible for you to scan the Eileen materials and just send PDFs to Drew Massey? -Or does he prefer hard copies?
Yep, Seth MacFarlane is Brian the Dog! ;)
*He's been doing some semi-random talk show appearances over the past couple of months as part of the promo of his new album. He'll just show up, sing one song, and leave. He really has a nice, "retro" (in the good sense) voice. -And he's a lot more handsome than Brian too. ;)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR JOHN G!!
DR DOUG R, I enjoyed the photos of Istanbul. I think you're getting the hang of HHW.
Or even prosperous on the Bhosphorus?
I have been asked to take part in a couple of Roundtable discussions at next month's Austin Film Festival.
Should be fun.
-
DR Ben, kudos on all the dental work. I had quite a bit done over a year ago, though not as much as you and NO root canals, thankfully, but I found it quite taxing to go to the dentist every week! I'm VERY glad it's over with.
-
Jane, I'm glad you and Keith are enjoying SHERLOCK. I'm looking forward to Season 2.
Did anyone yet catch the new show PAN AM?
I really enjoyed the four actresses who play the stewardesses and the actor who plays the co-pilot, but the actor who plays the pilot...not so much...he both needs a haircut and to look a little older (he looks like a teenager!).
The first episode was sort of Ok, but I suspect it is a show that will grow on me. I will give it a few more weeks.
We haven't watched it yet, maybe tonight. From your response we might only be watching one episode.
I shall watch it again soon DR ELMORE.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.......I got the dreaded credit card email.....over $1100 in unauthorized charges, so my Visa card has been cancelled and I have to wait to get another one......sometime in the next two weeks.
I think I got all the charges off.....all of the charges were internet based.....and of course now I cannot access my account.
Most distressing - but NOT as distressing as getting the bill and THEN finding over $1100 in unauthorized charges.
Not sure how my information was taken.....but Peggy from USA PrimeCredit said probably from some Merchant Account. I have only used PayPal and Amazon, so that is scary.
-
Been doing errands and whatnot, picking up a couple of packages. CDs are shipped, Kickstarter t-shirts and Blu-rays are shipped, and orders have been coming in for both Blu and CD - mostly combos, which is great.
DR Jane, PAN AM wasn't bad, it is just that this first episode lets you get to know the characters' stories, so the basic plot line of the show hasn't really got going, yet.
If the future storylines are interesting then I think this will be a winner. I sure like the "look" of the show....and I have never been a fan of Christina Ricci...but I really like her in this.
Got going. Is that correct?
-
DR Jrand have you set you account up so you can do a daily check on your charges?
Vibes you only pay for what you owe.
Got going. Is that correct?
Sure ;D
Thank you for clarifying.
It's a grey day here in Manhattan.
I spent yesterday after work in the dentist chair. Today after work I'm going out for a drink with two colleagues to celebrate my 20 years at the Foundation Center. I started, full-time, on October 1 1991. If they included all my time it would be 28 years. I began as a temp in 1983 when I was still an actor and from 1983 to 1991 I worked at the Foundation Center at some point during each of those years, even if it was only for a few weeks. Wow, 20 years. Whoda thunk it. And I'll probably be here another 7 or 8 years since I can't afford to retire unless I win the lottery. I like to do those luxurious things, like eat and have health insurance and live in a decent apartment.
Congrats on 20 years.
Thank you, Marilyn and Joanne and MBarnum. Not a gay one. Too much work for that.
DR Jose- did you hear the thunder in the theatre? It was pretty loud in my neck of the woods!
Nope. They really improved the sound-proofing in the theatre in the new facility. In fact, they can have parties with (loud) DJs in the outer-lobby while a show is going on, and there's no sound-bleeding.
-
I have been asked to take part in a couple of Roundtable discussions at next month's Austin Film Festival.
Should be fun.
Wonderful news, Druxy!
That is great news.
Well, it's time for me to head home and do some stuff.
Until later!
I'm sorry you didn't have the birthday you wanted to have, John G. I hope your celebration later makes up for it.
-
I spent the day with The Monarch Scientist in southern Arizona, where she taught some very nice older ladies how to net and tag monarchs.
-
Happy Happy Birthday, John G.!
Thank you, Laura. Dealing with Word problems now. Hair falling out. Well, I'm pulling it out.
Did anyone yet catch the new show PAN AM?
I really enjoyed the four actresses who play the stewardesses and the actor who plays the co-pilot, but the actor who plays the pilot...not so much...he both needs a haircut and to look a little older (he looks like a teenager!).
The first episode was sort of Ok, but I suspect it is a show that will grow on me. I will give it a few more weeks.
I agree with you. I'm hoping the first episode was mostly introductory and it will get better as it goes on. I'm willing to give it a chance
this has been some month
DITTO TO BEN ON HIS TWENTY YEARS!!
OF COURSE IT REMINDS OF THE SONG:
Twenty Happy Years from Bring Back Birdie (edited to fit the situation)
Twenty Happy Years
Flew so quickly by
Twenty busy years
Twenty dizzy years
Now let's try for twenty more
Good Evening!
When I got to the theatre, I was thinking (hoping?) it was already Friday. -Thankfully, tonight's audience was, in a word, amazing. They were just what we all needed. :)
-
DR vixmom - At the very least, I hope that you're getting some very good sleep after your very long days.
-
And since I realized earlier today that tomorrow/Thursday has to be my "get things packed up to head back to NYC" day....
Goodnight.
