And the word of the day is: THERMOCEPTION!
It's not raining now but it's chilly and wet outside so I'm back in the basement saying hello to all you people out there in the dark.

Closing day/night vibes for DR JOSE. Have fun at the party!
Boarding pass printed, shave shaved, and will shortly shower.
It's sunny and will be in the 70s here today. It's been WAY too long since we had rain....and none predicted
I'll be back in Manhattan sometime later today. I want to make sure I go early enough in case it starts to rain again and the LIRR decides to crash which happened last Thursday when we had a big rain storm. A lightning strike at Jamaica hit the new signal tower and all trains were cancelled. By Friday morning all was right but rain seems to have a bad effect on the trains and I need to be at work tomorrow morning.
DR DOUG R - my sister and niece are in London, too!!!
We'd call that "fall," DR Doug.

Two months for us -- and this was monsoon!

Vixdad was trapped on a train between station for three hours Thiursday night
DR JohnG, water heater vibes!!Thank you. I priced one. It was $377 (+tax, of course) with $250 for installation. Then they added a $35 charge to come out and take a look at the hookup to see if any work needs to be done. Then I have to pay $95 to the city in order to hook it up. I wonder what other charges there will be. All of the charges will cost more than the heater itself. Ugh.
You're doing the original, not with the movie interpolations, like "Lovely to Look At"? And is it "Roberta" or "Gowns by Roberta"? I have a divinely deco designed piece of piano music for "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" from the original production hanging on my wall and it just says "Roberta," but I've heard others swear the title had the "Gowns by ..."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Excellent Travel Vibes & Xylophones for BK! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've moved some furniture around, and I'm ready to begin some prep work on ROBERTA, a 1933 musical comedy by Messrs Otto Harbach amd Jerome Kern.
Good morning, all! I slept lste, much later than I had intended, but I blame it on the meds: yesterday morning, in a fit of mental distraction I tok my evening meds, so around 6 pm last night I took the morning ones, one of which is hydrochlorothiazide, for high blood pressure and water retention. As a result I was up half of the night running to the bathroom. Oy!
I remember only one of last night's dreams now: working at the Drama Book Shop over Christmas holiday and the frustrations of dealing with the owners on book orders. This could be frustrating for both clerks and customers, since the buyer believed in getting the highest possible discount and she did this by ordering large quantities, but there would be periods where the store would be out of stock on a hot item while we waited fora large order to arrive. It was very pound wise and penny foolish because we spent a lot of time watching customers go elsewhere to buy something.
Today, my agenda is to clean up this dump, prepare for tomorrow's trip to DC, and pack. My funtime will be a dinner visit with the wonderful delightful DR PennyO at Artie's!

Jose!!! Hi! What time do you get back Tomorrow?? I'd love to hear about your Oklahoma exploits! Has it really been 6 and a half years since we worked together here??? How is that possible???
DR JOHNG - that's a LOT of money. And who's going to buy him those damned long pants? Sorry, MBarnum, the Jerry Herman in me just took over.
Yes DR MBARNUM - I would suggest nice trousers for the matinee.....
We finally gave in and turned the heat on in our house. And we're still having days in the 90s.

Cable guy is gone and all is connected and working. However, I now have found that my new DVD recorder will not record from channels that have now started copy protecting their movies/tv shows...for instance Encore Westerns.
Evidently, DVD recorders made before 2006, which my old one was, were able to by pass the copy protection that cable stations use...new machines do not bypass this...I am beyond unhappy. My DVR is FULL of stuff recorded off of Encore Westerns and now I cannot burn them to DVD like I could with my old machine....so getting a new DVD recorder was rather pointless. Hopefully Turner Classic Movies is not using the copy protection.
Saturday's service in which Holy Nativity will be designated our diocesan pro-cathedral, making Richard the Dean.

The original title of the show that opened out of town was "Gowns by Roberta," which is the title of the Alice Duer Miller novel that the musical was based on. By the time it opened in New York, it had changed directors and title. The early Russell Bennett scores have the "Gowns by Roberta" title, and the alterations have "Roberta." There are three Appendix numbers: "Lovely To Look At" and "I Won't Dance," added to the film, and "Armful of Trouble," cut from the show, although the melody appears in the underscoring several times. I'm taking the novel with me to DC
Back from the show - slow today, but somehow I had more fun. I sold a few books, no Blu and Rays and a few photographs. I'm about to go join Cindy and writer Bo Kapprell in the restaurant. I had really nice chats with Diane Baker, Millie Perkins (so sweet), Barry Bostwick, and Henry Winkler. That alone made it a fun day, but I met some nice folks, too.
Sorry to hear about your former neighbor, Jane. My sympathies.

Last night I watched the 1964 B movie RAIDERS FROM BENEATH THE SEA.
It was an interesting movie, but not nearly as exciting as the poster would suggest...

Wow - Charles Grodin can suck the life out of any scene he is in.....doing it right now on THE IRON HORSE on Antenna TV.
I started packing for Los Angeles. Trying to decide if I should take a pair of slacks to wear to the play. It is at the East West Theatre and I don't know how dressy it normally is for a matinee.
I have a headache and am now going to take a nap.

I have had to stop taking my hydrochlorothiazide, because this imaginary (in my head) spinal stenosis has caused me to have bladder control problems. The restroom at work is on the other side of the office. And wetting my pants at work is not something I wish to do.
Sunday afternoon greetings! Richard and I are back from Lima (Ohio, not Peru), where we had a very small crowd for church. We went to Panera for lunch and ordered some bagels and pastries for the coffee hour that we're hosting after next Saturday's service in which Holy Nativity will be designated our diocesan pro-cathedral, making Richard the Dean.

I'm not familiar with this. Is it a special honor for Richard?

Holy Nativity? Wasn't she a stripper with Tempest Storm? Oh wait, that was Holly Nativity.
I guess it really HAS been 6 and a half years since we gathered in NYC for Jewish Thighs on Broadway - hard to believe!

DR John G - Um, DR MBarnum will most likely ask, "Jerry 'who'? Was he the cute extra in the background of the drag race scene in "I Married A Hot Rodder"?"
;D
TCB, I'm so sorry to hear your surgeon's visit went so badly. I really hoped you'd be getting some relief soon. It angers me the way patients are treated sometimes, too. There is just no excuse for it. I hope relief is coming soon.

I'm sure the stress of your "imaginary" condition isn't helping your blood pressure. I looked up the "imaginary" condition & didn't really find too many comments that it is in one's head. Were you told your current problem could be a side effect of the surgeries? They were so long ago it is difficult you would suddenly imagine these problems.
CONTINUED VIBES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am praying that the shots will be the miracle for you, TCB.
Continued health vibes for DR TCB.
The reading I did didn't suggest it was in your head, TCB. It suggested it was because of prior surgeries.
I'm back from the live Phantom screening. It was really great! Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess were magnificent. Sierra's rendition of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" was flawless, IMO. I'm so glad this will be released on DVD.

What about the bedroom scene?
Well my sister's RAIL PASS arrived at her house yesterday and she needs it in London by Wednesday....
Which would be best:
USPS
UPS
There is no FED EX office locally.
Have fun DR PENNY O and DR ELMORE!
Ok, I added a pair of tan dockers and another shirt into my suitcase. Then I decided to removed 3 t-shirts. I had way too many packed.
I pack like the Howell's did for their 3 day tour.

Thank Jane. No, I was never told about any possible side effects at the time.

It was a fantastic 2-hour non-stop event! I'm now working on getting Miss PennyO an audition for our Appalachian Christmas show; we need a fierce matriarch, and I think our DR PennyO would be FIERCE!
That doesn't mean it's all in your head. They said the same thing about fibromyalgia. They know now it is real.

Laura, you saw PHANTOM in Vegas didn't you?
DR Laura - Thank You!
I shall share it with everyone in the green room later and at the party.
:)
DR Laura I know you don't "do" movie theatres but it may be worth your while to make an exception in this case --- there is suppose to be an "encore" performance
I'll look for the dvd.
Laura, you saw PHANTOM in Vegas didn't you?
Yes, I did, TCB. A friend of mine is in the cast.
Although I did meet the WSMA once and we had a brief, but thrilling, conversation.
Continued health vibes for DR TCB.

By the way, Jose, Aunt Pearl is the fourth of thirteen children, and she is now 106. Sandra's grandmother is number eleven. Two infants died.

You're welcome. I thought about it several times, but I didn't get it taken out of the frame and scanned until today.
I am now back home safely. The weather here is so much nicer than in Montreal
I'm watching "Return To Me" with Minnie Driver, David Duchovny and Bonnie Hunt. I didn't realize that Bonnie Hunt also directed and co-wrote it! It's a very sweet movie.
And as we go into the final scene of the show..
See you after the party!
Laters...

Carroll O'Connor and Robert Loggia were the old guys in it, right? And Sinatra sings "At Long Last Love" on the soundtrack. Sweet movie.
Sounds like a great match.Have fun DR PENNY O and DR ELMORE!
