Sorry I didn't answer your question DR ELMORE.....no I do not have an all region DVD player.
As to your post RE:the Post Office.
My MP3 player left California on October 5 - via first class.....and there have been NO updates since then.
And the word of the day is: VITUPERATION!
I don't think I've announced this here, but:Congrats!
I've just signed a contract with Bear Manor Media to reprint my book, Basil Rathbone: His Life and His Films, which has been out-of-print for 35 years.
Not sure when it will be released, but my guess is either late this year or early next.
And the word of the day is: VITUPERATION!
And The Song Of The Day Is: IT'S A SCANDAL! IT'S AN OUTRAGE!

I guess Oscar Hammerstein #2 was never known for his grammar. :-)

I looked at those returned checks yesterday.
1. I mailed my health insurance premium, due Aug 7, on July 22. On August 3, I mailed my final health insurance premium before Medicare kicked in via Priority Mail.
2. On Aug 5, I canceled payment on the July 22 check and hand delivered a replacement.
3. When the Priority Mail check hadn't arrived by August 9, six days after mailing it, I canceled payment on it and mailed a second by Priority Mail to a different address I was given when I hand delivered the payment.
From the returned check, it looks as if the check from July was denied payment on Aug 25, nearly a full month since I posted it. I have no idea when the HMO mailed it back to me, but it arrived on Oct 13.
I'm at the Times Square Visitors Center, taking advantage of the free Wi-fi. I had a smooth flight to Newark, took the bus to Bryant Park and walked to my hotel on 31st Street.
I decided to try the Book of Mormon lottery and of course lost. But...I then went over to the Wicked lottery, and after about 25 times trying over several years, won the lottery!!
I did see the show, but it's been several years, so I'm really looking forward to it!

And I've been spending the past hour or so on YouTube watching some "South Bank" shows on...
Sweeney Todd (http://youtu.be/-WyVSaXbPYY) - Great footage of the first London production with Dennis Quilley
And...
Stephen Sondheim in 2010 (http://youtu.be/Pa646nfBeY8)
I'm stll on my Encores! orchestration so I may miss the G&S at Symphony space. I've also not heard from Jo today so there's been no Kindle aid. DR Jose, you're MR Techno - have you any Kindle experience? Perhaps we could make a date this week?
Saw that Jack Nicholson will be playing Branch Rickey in an upcoming movie. Won't be as good as yours..
Shayne, the Blu of Chitty does not have foreign language tracks, at least that I can find. It's got one audio track, the 7.1 stereo. So, you must be talking about the older DVD?

Kevin, great news about the Lottery.
We are having Ginny's famous "tuna glop" for dinner except that I put in chicken instead of tuna.
Years ago Ginny posted a recipe for tuna noodle casserole that she called tuna glop. It's easy and tastes good so it's become a part of the Morelli/McLaughlin household menu.
Alan Jones and Irene Dunn are singing Make Believe from Show Boat.
Yes, JR, add one more initial to yours and you have the headliner. :)
I believe Bear Manor is the publisher which once contacted me and offered me a contract to write a Farmer biography, but they couldn't do hardbacks, didn't want to include glossy stock for photos and most of all didn't like my idea of combining a traditional bio with my own journey to find out the truth about what happened to her. :)

Denis Quilley was a wonderful man. He was also the original Candide in 1958 in London. When I met him, he had stories about Hellman.
Just made the most amazing sweet potatoes with a vanilla-nutmeg-rum glaze. Too bad I can't eat any.
And, yes, Jason Robert Brown and Shoshana Bean were appearing in Indy over the past two nights at The Cabaret (http://www.thecabaret.org/).
An old friend, who I had lost touch with over the last few years; just sent me this post on Facebook. I guess it is what I needed to read, because it left me in tears.QuoteSaw that Jack Nicholson will be playing Branch Rickey in an upcoming movie. Won't be as good as yours..

i recall looking for MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG TICKETS on Ebay and being offered among items I might be interested in
A COMPLETE SET OF ROLL-ALONG LUGGAGE

DR elmore - The Kindle is much easier to set up than you think. Have you watched the Set Up videos on Amazon? They literally walk you through the process. Just start one up and follow along. It should take no longer than 5 minutes - probably more like 2 to get it set up and certified.
Otherwise, if you'd like to meet tomorrow afternoon...
My sister, my niece, my mom, and I went to see STAR WARS when it was first released. I didn't enjoy the experience; in fact, I was bored to death.

Videos? They have videos? I do not function well with gadgets, yet I can transpose a score to any key and do square roots.
Tomorrow would be great, if it's late afternoon: I've got a trip to the McGlinnventory, then a stop at Encores! before I get home.
Bring out the flavor and bring out the best.
I wonder if TAR will start on time tonight.

First time in NJ I went to the market I was very confused trying to find my Best Foods. There was a jar that looked just like it only it had a different name. Fortunately someone came along & told me they were the same. Wise to different names for different coast I figured out the store bought bread I liked also had a different name.
And Carl's Jr. and Hardee's.

I didn't know that these were the same chain.
Of course, I used to manage shoe stores for Hardy Shoes, which was kind of the same as Falgg Brothers Shoes. Our unofficial company slogan was:"Every woman loves a man with a Hardy on"
I'm wondering if the CBS censors were worried about how some of the contestants on "The Amazing Race" are pronouncing "Phuket". ::)

I could have sworn some DRs had already posted the links to the set up videos on Amazon's site? Hmmm... In any case, you really should be able to do it yourself. And you should set it up yourself, since purchasing and downloading books to your Kindle basically follows the same process. So, in the meantime, go to Amazon.com, then:
-Mouse-over "Kindle" in the lefthand columm, then click on the link for "Manage Your Kindle".
-At the bottom of the lefthand column, you'll see "Kindle Support". Click on "Getting Started Guide".
-The "Getting Started with Kindle" page will come up.
-Breathe.
-Then just start reading the instructions.
-Breathe again.
-Then click on "Watch Video Demo" for each step.
-Repeat as necessary. ;)
*Just think of it as following a score one measure at a time. It's all a sequence of events that come one after the other. And just like in music, if you read too far ahead, then, well... Don't. ;)
Did anyone here happen to see BAD TEACHER?
I must say Bear Manor is not really to my liking - I don't like the look of their books. No slight to Druxy, who has a good relationship with them - this is purely an aesthetic comment. They are, like many publishers today, basically self-publishing without the charge and with the use of an editor (I think I'm right about that). They don't take returns and therefore cannot get in most bookstores - that isn't even a problem anymore, however, since brick and mortar is going the way of the dodo bird. I just wish they put out a higher quality product, even as a paperback.

Not I. Did you?

No, it is coming out on DVD on Tuesday, and I was just wondering if it is as lame as it looks.
Not sure if this was posted here before, but here's the NY Times obituary for agent Sue Mengers.

The obit mentions this:
In the 1973 film “The Last of Sheila,” (wrtten by Stephen Sondheim & Anthony Perkins) one of her clients, Dyan Cannon, played a brassy Hollywood agent widely believed to be based on Ms. Mengers.
Dyan Cannon says in the film commentary that she in fact based her character of Christine on Sue Mengers

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I, too, got a very good night's sleep last night.
I guess What's Up, Spock? (http://nymag.com/movies/features/zachary-quinto-2011-10/) was a better title for this article than "Spock Is Gay!".
Congrats to Zacharay Quinto!
DR George Shore Acres is even prettier at night with the holiday lights. I hope you also walked to the view of the ocean looking down from the cliffs.
