Welcome to 2012 - I can't find the calendars I bought.....they are NOT where I put them.....most frustrating.

Is it starting the year off wrong if I say you'll find them in the last place you look?
Oh...
And I'm doing laundry. -Since I forgot to wash my tux/costume shirt yesterday. Spoo.

That reminds me. I forgot to do the laundry. I'll do it tomorrow as it's a holiday.
When does Eliza sing again DR JOSE?
I am bummed that the Rose Parade is not today. My sister said that it's because it's the last day of NFL games and that the Rose Bowl game is tomorrow.
To me having the Rose Parade on January 1st is a tradition. Everything here is closed. You wake up sleepy and watch the parade. I hate hate hate that they changed this!
And the birthday of another popular actor that not many may recognize. ;D

I just got back from an overnight stay in the hospital, not the most auspicious ways to ring in the new year, certainly. I woke up at about 4 a.m. Saturday with horrible abdominal pains. When they didn't subside after a few hours, I drove myself to the ER, where they discovered not the cause of the pain but a kidney problem that I'm going to have to get checked out with a urologist this week.
I have written the first seven pages of a new book. So, I'm sure that I'll get past ten today, which is a fine way to start a new book.

And just in case people don't read through all 12 pages of last night's posts, here's the exact moment of the new year on the west coast:

Today is wife Sandy's birthday!
It's so thoughtful that people all over the world celebrate and set off fireworks in her honor.

All this and I have another day off from work tomorrow! Yay!
When does Eliza sing again DR JOSE?
At approximately 2:15pm this afternoon. At least I think that's when "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" starts. Maybe it's more like 2:10-ish.

D'oh--who's the damn page editor around here Department: Juxtaposed right next to each other in this morning's OREGONIAN, these two headlines:

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH was written for Unity Churches back in the 1950s. I was the Music Director of Unity of Portland for many years and one of the writers came out one week, I can't for the life of me remember her name.
Did the four-mile jog, did a little revising of the seven pages, made some additions to them, and have now done fifteen pages, which is, I think, the most I've ever done of the first day of a new book. And I'm having a great time and may actually do a couple more pages later after the party.
Happy birthday to Sandy!
I went to bed last night, but ended up staying awake until 4:00 a.m. First I watched (or listened) to the Live at Lincoln Center New Year's Eve Concert. They were doing an all Gershwin and Bernstein program. They did CANDIDE and WEST SIDE STORY DANCES for the Bernstein and Concerto in F and the Rhapsody in Blue for Gershwin. I was not familiar with the piano soloist, Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Since I know little about music, I should probably not comment on any parts of it, but it was a nice concert.
Then since it was after eleven, I fiugred that I might as well watch the Space Needle fireworks. But after that, I could not fall asleep.
BK, has Barry Pearl's Broadway show closed, or was he in for a limited run?

I just submitted, on line, my solution to today's NPR Weekend Edition Sunday puzzle. Richard and I hear that segment every Sunday on our way to Lima and this is the first time I've been able to solve the challenge.
There's a ONCE UPON A TIME marathon on CBS (?) tonight, and i missed the fourth episode, which I missed in November, again! Damnation!

I'm watching the "Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" episode on THE TWILIGHT ZONE. The electricity has gone out and I swear I heard one of the characters say, "I can't get hold of anyone on-line."
