Well, you've read the notes, the notes had some holes and some pudding, and now it is time for you to post until the holes and pudding cows come home.

Not Patti Lupone, she depones!

Our weekend plans just changed. We are no longer going out to Staten Island for lunch and dinner with an uncle and aunt of Anthony's. We may get some snow on Saturday and they are worried that it will make travel difficult. We've moved the L & D to the 19th (the Sunday of President's Day weekend).

Off to work.

DR TCB - I usually watch Happy Endings because it follows The Middle, Suburgatory, and Modern Family....

It can be pretty funny and I like most of the performers.

Good morning, all! Another night of very peculiar dreams - although nothing in the last year beats the one I had yesterday - and I fortunately remember none of them.

Now that everything ecxcept the recording data and credits is finished, my day can be used for other purposes. I will proof the opening number of DEAREST ENEMY, and then move on to work on ROBERTA. I'm doing laundry at the moment, and once it's in the dryers, I will tidy the apartment,

TOD:
DVD:  operas: new Marraige of Figaro and Berg's Lulu, The Fighting 69th
CD:  Music of Victor Herbert, Guy Haines, Liz Callaway, Rebecca Luker, Jacques Offenbach
   VCR:  1980s porn

Otherwise...

All of the activity of the past seven days - which included playing for about 850 auditions - caught up with me last night. I got back home after dinner around 8:00pm, turned on the TV... And the next thing I knew it was 8:00 this morning.

And now I'm debating whether to head back to bed for a few more hours of sleep, or head out and run some errands... And then come back for a good nap.

::)

Time to run some errands.

I have a stack of review titles to work on today, a rather diverse bunch that includes WAR OF THE ARROWS, URBANIZED and ELITE SQUAD:  THE ENEMY WITHIN.

Amazon UK has "dispatched" CLEOPATRA, hopefully it will be here next week.  If they had merely "sent" it, I'm not sure how long it would have taken.  :)

So, Joshie had a checkup today at the vet. Joshie is very smart. I was very
careful never to say the words that he might understand: vet, carrier, etc. When
he was out of the room, I got the carrier ready and put it on the desk out of
his sight.

Rex is loveable, but dumb. He had such an ordeal recently with his teeth,
surgeries, forced feedings, meds, and every-other-day vet visits.

I was able to just walk up to Joshie, pick him up, and quickly shove him into
the carrier. We were ready to go without any problems! I didn't have to chase
him. I didn't have to move the furniture. I didn't have to try to trap him in
one room. Wow! So easy!

Maybe not.

I have been listening to BK's close personal friend Julius Wechter's last A&M album.  It's rather more jazzy than a lot of the BMB releases.  I find it odd that Herb let two of the most instrumental (no pun intended) people in building A&M in the early days go in the early seventies--Julius and Sergio.  Such are the vagaries of showbiz, I guess.

Well, I've hd encounters with dishonest Amazon Marketplace vendors but today I had to deal with one of their stupid vendors who can't tel the difference between a complete 4-cassette set of Marni Webb reading GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES and a one-disc recording of Carol Channing reading excerpts. I don't mind the loss of $10 as much as I mind the fact I don't have the correct cassette.

I just spent quite some time on the phone with Apple Care.  Ever since doing the latest updates when I wake up the computer after sleep it hasn't been connecting to my wireless network automatically.  I looked up the problem on the Internet and its one that has been going on a  while but one that's never been a problem for me.  So, the guy had me do a few things but couldn't fix the problem.  As it turns out, the latest updates were supposed to fix this very problem, but instead of fixing a problem I didn't have it gave me the problem.  The final thing he had me do was reinstall the latest update to see if it would now fix the problem that it gave me.  It seems to have worked.

We took Sherlock for a hike before leaving him at the groomer's (in the back of the pet store) for a bath.  Keith worked out and I went for a swim.  After picking up Sherlock we went to the market.  I have had a snack & a shower.  In a few minutes I will have to dry my hair.  Now wasn't that an exciting reason not to be here ;)

When dropping Sherlock off & picking him up we had to play with the Bernese Mountain Dog puppy at the pet store, along with Sherlock's cousin Sesi.  The owner of the store, and parent of the pup, said when she walks around with Sesi people ask if it is Sherlock.  The untrained eye can't tell them apart though they look very different.

I'm glad it was still nice out when the UPS truck delivered a box of yummy ginger cookies from Bryan.  The driver was telling me that our road was the only road he drove that had any major damage after the rains.  He was rather surprised when he drove on it.  Lucky us.

Good Evening!

Well... It's been quite an interesting day. Somewhat productive, somewhat leisurely, and, sadly, a bit disheartening. I found out a few hours ago that a friend and fellow musician passed away earlier this afternoon. He was admitted to the hospital last week with some sort of blood infection, which led to total organ failure. He had been in serious but stable condition earlier this week, but... Truly shocked.

Rest In Peace, Phil Mathieu.

Earlier today I was watching some of my favorite You tube clips.  I love to watch Tommy Tune and Twiggy in MY ONE AND ONLY, especially "Boy Wanted / Soon"

And that, of course, leads me to the Tommy Tune Video Tribute (including The WSMA):

And today that lead me to watch Tommy Tune giving a commencement address at the Boston Conservatory.

It is really a touching speech (and it is only nine minutes long)

I would assume that they no longer allow that in schools.  At least, I hope not.  I would gladly take a whole day of Christmas carols rather than having to send a single stupid valentine.

They still do it.  Although interestingly the teacher included a class list in my niece's backpack. From that i understood that you are "supposed" to give a card to each kid in your class and not just the kids you like.

I like this idea (anyhow she's only 6). So everybody gets something from everybody. Not sure everybody will do this. But i think most do it.

My 2 year old niece has Dora Valentines she is going to give to her class. She is pretty excited about it. Although she doesn't understand when the day is. She keeps asking if it's today.

Thank You for all the Condolences. Phil and I first met when we were played in the pit for Aida (the Elton John one, not the Verdi one) at The Kennedy Center. That was one of his first theatre gigs - he had done a lot of solo and band work - and it was also one of his first gigs after recovering from a serious arm and hand injury that left him with a piece of metal and a few screws in his arm. He was the banjo and guitar for Oklahoma! at Arena Stage. He will truly be missed by a whole community of people.

I suppose that is an improvement, but I still remember that you had to be careful which ones you sent to certain girls in the class, or you never heard the end of it.

Jose, my condolences to you and to his family.

So...here's something that I'd bet one here has experienced. :-\

Last night, I was at rehearsal for A Bucket of Blood and was talking about seeing Capital Playhouse's Hair the night before with a fellow BOB cast member who had been in Capital Playhouse's previous production of Hair in their 2001-2002 season.  He rather nonchalantly said that it was interesting doing a show with a porn star.
