I'm thinking the job switch is not going to be too likely. It would require a move to Atlanta without moving expenses and with a raise that would not be enough to offset the cost of living increase. Oh well.
Hopefully DR Jane got some news about DR TCB.
And the word of the day is: AGLEY!
Not if I have to be gardening. I would need my own plot of land.I'm thinking the job switch is not going to be too likely. It would require a move to Atlanta without moving expenses and with a raise that would not be enough to offset the cost of living increase. Oh well.
Perhaps you could rent a room from our E&T DR edisaurus?
Good Friday and Happy Passover!
And now I will make my traditional lament about wishing that I had a copy of Elizabeth Swados' THE HAGGADAH.

I believe that I am on the same emailing list she is concerning TCB, and there's been nothing for two days. You might check his Facebook page for any updates. I'm going to do that now.
Good Friday greetings from the west side of Lima, OH! We arrived yesterday in time to check into the hotel before church. After the service we pIcked up sandwiches to eat in our room while we watched TV. Today I'm letting Fr. Richard sleep in and this afternoon we're going to visit a shut-in.
We watched THE IRON LADY earlier this week.
The movie itself: Not so much.
I've heard from DR TCB's friend Sharry that he'd requested 48 hrs to acclimate himself to both the surgery and transfer to rehab. She's going to see him later today and inquire if he'll let me call him.
Who is going to a Seder tonight? I wish I was.
HAPPY PASSOVER!

I keep thinking that today is Saturday.
I did not care for the images I found for Good Friday. Happy Good Friday was not amongst them. What does one say to someone who honors it?We don't really say anything. We just observe the meaning of the day. Certainly nothing like, "Don't get nailed on Good Friday." ;)

I meant the televised production that was shown on PBS about 20 years ago. But I would love to hear it too. Thanks for the info, DR Arnold!
We always seemed to have gloomy weather in Good Fridays when I was a youngen. Today it's beautifully sunny here in the South of Jersey. I guess the Catholic Church has given up on weather control because of the costs involved.
I actually have a craving for chocolate covered Peeps. I never had one. I wonder if they come in dark chocolate? They come in all flavors. And they all taste like sugar.
I'm up - have been up since nine having telephonic conversations.

I don't remember what make the digital grand was.
Has anyone ever heard of Easter pies? News story on local well-known bakery Termini Brothers keeps mentioning their long tradition of Easter pies. I've never heard of having pie for Easter.I've had pie for breakfast, pie for lunch and pie for dinner. Why not Easter?

Here is a recipe from Giada for Easter pie. It looks like cheesecake in a phyllo dough crust:

Dealer is just leaving Pasadena now, so will be over thirty minutes late. And the engineer is now telling me we could start as early as five. Isn't that always the way? So dinner may have to be put aside, or if we eat then books will have to be gone through more quickly. Had they gotten here on time at three we could have been back here at four-fifteen and they could have spent ninety minutes going through stuff. I've told the engineer that I'll try to get to him by six. Probably foregoing dinner is the easiest thing to do, but if we do I will then not have time to eat until after the mix, and that's not good.

Can you have something delivered and eat while the dealer is looking at the books?

If you leave now, you can. ;)
But I will be going to a sedar tomorrow.
Thanks for the updates on DR TCB. For some reason on his facebook page i can only see the comments he started. not the ones any of the people who visit him write.

My coworker Monica and I went to lunch at Falafel King today. I had a Shawarma and she had Hummus (she can't eat meat today).
Abdullah let me try some Falafel for free.
Good Friday is a somber day for Christians. I have never heard anyone wish anyone anything on this day. Usually there is a church service where the crucifixion of Jesus is remembered.

Is this part of a chain?

Why would they call it "Good" then?
Not so good for Jesus,
I'll be leaving for Buffalo in the morning. I think it's safe to say there won't be snow for Easter (though it's certainly happened in the past).

SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES AND HAVE A VERY GOOD EASTER WEEKEND!!

I too wonder about the "Good".
Evening all!
Good Friday means I have to honor my promise to my Mom and not eat any meat on this day. That means I have to eat fish. Yuck. But I did it.

Fr. Richard says "Good" Friday evolved linguistically from "God's" Friday, the commemoration of the crucifixion.
Sergio will be at the house on Tuesday to look over those things that Turner left open.
So glad this week is finely over and that my sinus headache/earache is gone.

It must be nice to spend the night there and not get up so darn early in the morning.
It's interesting, Ginny, how differently we observe the day in our services. Ours was filled with music, which is what makes it my favorite service of the year.
The titles of many of the hymns are gruesome: "Stricken, Smitten and Afflicted," "O, Sacred Head Now Wounded," "O, Dearest Jesus, What Law Hast Thou Broken?"
But the melodies are so good.
I can't stop hickcupping.

BOO!! yes thank you
Then it was the mix of act two of the ALW show. We got two-thirds through and then just got very giddy. The Jesus Christ Superstar stuff was okay and I think we saved quite a few numbers in act two and got them to sound decent. And Carole Cook's usual fifteen-minute monologue edited down to two hilarious minutes perfectly. At the point the began the Sunset Blvd. section, the band just seemed to give up completely - that song, one of the most horrifyingly bad things I've ever heard, will not be on the album, unless we want to sell this as a comedy album. We just starting howling with laughter the more we tried to fix it. Every instrument seems to be playing in whatever key they feel like - or perhaps they were just playing the wrong bars, and the screeching violin (with only the DI pickup - no natural sound) was so pathetic I began saying, "That sounds like a cat in the throes of being strangled to death. That sounds like a cat choking on its own vomit. That sounds like a cat having having its appendix out without an anasthetic." And that's exactly what it sounded like. We put it at the end of the show, just so the director could hear what we've been dealing with. Otherwise, we've done as good as we can do. My big suggestion is to switch out the openings of disc one and two - the Superstar segment on disc two is much stronger - then we'd move the original opening segment, Joseph, to disc two. That will help things, I think, and then some judicious repositioning of other numbers will help, too.
Are you thinking? Now would be a great time to dive in and DO it :)
