Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in retrograde, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're waiting for MOOcury to come out of retrograde.

Good morning, all! I slept well, and at 5:30 I was ready to crawl out of bed and hope the recording cast was completed. We signed James Cleverton for the recording.

This morning, I head back to the McGlinnventory. Hopefully, to finish off the auction mess. Much as I like our paralegal Gerri, she's not been on top of this thing since December and I am not happy about it.  know there are personal prblems with two dying friends, two small boys in school, etc., but the office is ientirely in her hands and she keeps me dangling on finishing things because of personal issues. WE STILL NEED THOSE OFFICE VIBES!

After that, I will stop by Toyland and see if anything's come in on DEAREST ENEMY before heading uptown. So much for my day. I hope everyone's goes well.

TOD:

I grew up loving Abbott & Costello, and was fortunate enough to meet Bud Abbott once when he was doing the A&C cartoon series.  Nice man.

BUCK PRIVATES and A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN were certainly their best overall pictures, but their "funniest" movies were the ones that featured some of their classic routines, but were, otherwise, duds.

For example, LOST IN A HAREM is not that good of a movie, but it does have the "Slowly I turned..." routine, which makes me laugh every time I see it.  And, the saving grace of THE NAUGHTY NINETIES is the inclusion of "Who's on First?"

I didn't request the Beach Movie Marathon DR DtM and DR JMK - although I am enjoying seeing many of those that I haven't seen in a LONG time.....Aron Kincaid is fun to watch.  And the co host - Tom Lisanti wrote a very good book about the movies, and last year released DUELING HARLOWS which was most entertaining!

We had a very rough night. Sherlock must have crash landed on me 20 times. He is very restless & keeps jumping up and moving around. He wants to sleep in his usual spot but is uncomfortable. He finally settled out of the bedroom near the kitchen. We need to turn down the heat in our room at night.  Keith turned it down in the entire house this morning.  I'm going to need to bundle up.

To us, all this restlessness means he is farther along than the doctor stated.  How I didn't make the connection sooner I don't know.... ignorance is bliss.

Well it's a lobby card - and rarely do the colors have anything to do with the REAL color of the b/w costumes - and sometimes even the color costumes.

I looked for it in the 20th Century Fox auction catalog, but it wasn't listed, and I didn't see it in Debbie Reynolds' auction either, so I think it can be ANY color we want it to be.

I liked contacts when I used to wear them (25 or so years ago), but the stupidest thing I ever did was dive into a swimming pool with them still in my eyes. And I was far from home on a business trip. I spent the next day as if I were a blind person being led about by the two people I was with.

Mom and I had a great lunch at China Cottage, an unplanned stop at Cooks' Wares, and a delightful time at Dorothy Lane Market.  She bought all the baked goods I can no longer eat and I bought fresh fruit and yogurt.  Home now for a couple of hours until meeting with my book group friends.

:)  Have a great discussion & fun time.

Back from a salad and some sweet potato fries, picking up a couple of packages, doing some banking, and other errands and whatnot.  CDRs have been made and the one piece of missing sheet music will be here Saturday via e-mail.

Thanks, DR Jane.  We're discussing The Death and Life of the Great American School System, so I hope our school board member is there.  I attended a discussion of this same book last Friday at the AAUW state convention and it was pretty much a gripe session for teachers and retired teachers.

Hi all.  I have just learned about Jonathan Frid's passing.  Oh my gosh.  Such a flood of memories of running home from school to make it time to see the show.  Meeting him years later and feeling  bad that he was type casted and never really allowed to do anything else.

And then to hear about Dick Clark as well!  My world is diminished.  Two wonderful men are gone.

The house now has a vent on the roof and wonder of wonders a surveyor has offered his services so we can have the draftsman draw the room once they have the property lines in place.  Yay!

I believe today is the birthday of actress Betsy Joslyn, who replaced Sarah Rice as Joanna in the OBC of SWEENEY TODD, and who played Nora in A DOLL'S LIFE, in which she appeared with our DR PennyO.

A friend of mine posted this and I couldn't help but think of your saying, DR Elmore about what fresh hell awaits me.  For what ever reason every time I think about that it makes me laugh.  This gave me a good chuckle as well.

What can I say?   :D

5 years 8 months.  It isn't going to be ok, not unless a miracle happens.

Is Delmer Daves' last name pronounced like the plural of Dave or Davies?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Stressfree Vibes to DR cillaliz! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks Elmore!!
I'm really glad we had a work day today. I'm feeling a little more in control. We aren't taking any new people until we catch up and Monday afternoon the new intern will be coming in for the first time to "get an idea of how we do things".   Today I also bought supplies and set up her work area a little better.  I've got to go get her parking pass tomorrow.  I'm really curious to see how it goes having two employees.  If it goes well with Regina, I may add a second assistant, whether it's her or someone else.
Good news DR CILLA LIZ - hope the new intern is a good fit.
So do I. The best part of this is I get to see what would happen if I hire another assistant without spending the money.  She gets college credits for working for me. As busy as I am right now, I may be at the point where it's exactly what I need.  And since she really wants to work on the criminal side of my practice, it will show me exactly what could happen.   I think Edith likes that she doesn't speak Spanish.  No threat to her work at all, lol
TCB will like this...I just checked my mailbox and work and there was a package waiting for me from www.dresscircle.co.uk.  I ordered Ramin Karimloo's solo CD debut: Ramin (http://www.dresscircle.co.uk/9600-Product-CD-Ramin%20Karimloo-Ramin-38167) and it arrived!  When they were taking pre-orders, you could order the signed copy, which I did!  It cost the same as the unsigned, so why not?  I've listened to about half of it and it's not bad.  He gets a little breathy at times for my taste, but otherwise has a good voice.  There are some pop songs and he's co-written four of the songs  The only theater songs are "Music of the Night" and "Till I Hear You Sing."  In the synopsis on the website, the first sentence is, "Ramin is one of the biggest musical theatre stars in the world."  Umm...no, he's not. ;)
I'll finish it tomorrow.
Just back from dinner with friends. Somehow, the owner of the restaurant thought it was my birthday, so, well, it was. And I didn't even know it was really Betsy Joslyn's birthday. In addition to "A Doll's Life," she also sings on the BOTMC Sondheim collection, if I recall correctly.
