I have a meeting at 11:30 today at Toyland about a new office and other concerns. Much as I complain about my team in music preparation, they are the best, and I want to keep us working together for as long as I can. This year's been stressful, but we're surviving,. If we can secure a new office, which is still in the air, the happier I will be.

I've got Act Three of THE ONLY GIRL to finish, so I'll work on that until I head downtown. I need an assistant.

Or an intern.

The Weather Man keeps saying we are going to be in for some rough storms today. Hoping Sheena won't be to scarred. Toby doesn't seem to mind them.

No plans for today except to chill, read a book, watch some TV/movies, etc. A nice relaxing day! Ahhhhhhh......

I have a Grease rehearsal this morning, and then this evening, the "mother-in-law" arrives for a rather lengthy stay. I'm a little uneasy, but I do like her and she's coming for much needed R&R. I'm sure everything will be great, fun, etc. We'll probably do some things with her while she's here, but the first couple of weeks, she may have quite a lot of alone time with her new iPad (which we got her) and the dogs, as I go into tech for Annie tomorrow and the DP is severely understaffed at the hotel.

Thank you for asking. His temp has stayed normal. During the day he seems fine, it is at night that he becomes restless, is up & down & can't settle comfortably. Last night we put the mattress from our murphy bed in front of the dining room table & left the sliding door to the deck open to keep the house cool. Sherlock stretched out between us and slept with us all night.

Even though there wasn't room on the small queen mattress for Keith & I to move we slept rather well for us. Poor Keith was exhausted with Sherlock keeping him up every night most of the week.

I'm currently reading one of Laurie King's Sherlock Holmes/Mary Russell novels, so it's no surprise that Mary Russell comes to mind. I really do like this character. There is soooo much dumbing down these days, which I deplore, and then there's Mary Russell: a charming young woman, an Oxford scholar, and even able to keep up with Sherlock Holmes. Thank you. We took Sherlock for a short walk in town before meeting Craig at a restaurant for lunch. Now Keith is mowing the lawn. Sherlock enjoyed Keith's birthday very much. The outdoor tables weren't set up yet and they suggested we eat in the hotel lobby which is attached to the restaurant. Sherlock was very comfortable there, much more than we were balancing our food. ;D

Post by: bk on April 21, 2012, 03:40:44 PM: Back from a visit to The Hollywood Show - I decided to go say hey to Cindy Williams and a few other pals. And the interesting news is that one of the two new folks running the show is gone - done - kaput - and apparently he was the big jerk. Ray Courts and his wife Sharon were there and told me that news (they came to show support to the now-sole owner). So, I may, at some point, see if the new guy has a little respect for those who've been in the business for over forty years. If so, I may do the next show. Cindy and I had fun - as I was walking away to visit Eddie Mekka and David Lander she called me back - there was some huge Nudie fan there, so I met him. The show was poorly "staged" again - with black curtains at the back of every celebrity's place, blocking the view of the rest of the room - it's silly because it just makes everything look closed-in and insular rather than open and spacious. It wasn't a hugely attended thing, but most of the celebs seemed to be doing well. Many cancellations though, including Henry Winkler - I think they only ended up with about sixty. One of them, a man I frankly thought had passed away, was an old pal, Dave Ketchum - I did my Alice episode with him and we stayed in touch all through the 80s, but I hadn't seen him or heard anything about him in many, many years. I'm thrilled to say he looks great and is healthy. He must be over eighty now.

She's had so much terrible facial work she barely resembles herself anymore, so in the end I didn't. Other interesting attendees - Brett Halsey and Al Hedison (both looking great), Julie Adams (ditto), Sally Kellerman, who does not look great, Michael J. Pollard, who looks like a shriveled up, wizened old man - it was a little shocking, frankly - Keir Dullea, still handsome, Gary Lockwood, very heavy but looks good, the Sound of Music kids, including, for the first time, Charmian Carr - she still looks great.

Didn't you read my book? :) I talk about it a fair amount, and talk about Dave Ketchum, my little date with Beth Howland, and my loathing of the director.

He finished his last rotation which was in Internal Medicine & enjoyed it very much. He said it was an extra hard rotation & they had him working as an intern instead of a student.

He has also received an award for the student of the year in emergency medicine, or something like that. We have been invited to the awards ceremony which is the day before the graduation ceremony. Bryan isn't sure if he will attend. I'm not sure now if he will go to his graduation if we can't be there. Even if Keith can't go I might try to. Bryan completely understands if we need to be here with Sherlock.

Post by: George on April 21, 2012, 05:47:19 PM: I was errant and truant all day yesterday...I was at work, then I went to feed my sister's cats (they're visiting our cousin in Coquille, Oregon) and then I went to a birthday party. It was at the local Eagle's Club (where TAO used to perform) and it was quite smoky. Since it's a private club, members and guests are allowed to smoke inside...not fun for non-smokers. :P But it was a fun evening. We chatted, played pool, played pinball, sang karaoke, then I went home and went to bed.

I didn't watch. Then I had to feed my sister's boyfriend's cat because he went with my sister and niece to Oregon. I'm now doing laundry bit I need to take a nap. I can't keep my eyes open. I'll have to feed the cats later tonight, but until then, I'm going to sleep a bit.

I'm actually looking forward to reading it again. I bought the kindle version a while ago. My memory is a funny thing, I don't remember a lot of things I read. So reading it again might be a new experience for me. :)
