And the word of the day is: CHRESTOMATHY!
A preview of the upcoming "Great Gatsby." Not exactly inspiring, but then again, I was not a fan of "Moulin Rouge":

Well, the info coming in on THE MUSiC MAN at Arena bodes not much good; the director for some reason has set the show in the 1930s, which blows to hell Willson's valentine to his childhood before WW 1, and dances like the Castle Walk and Turkey Trot seem awfully out of place, along wth the Wells Fargo Wagon and Captain Billy's Whizbang, in that period of talkies, Fred and Ginger, the depression, and other matters of social and economic change.
DR Ginny, I'm sorry that the performance was screwed up because of the scenery. At least you got to see the whole performance. When Skip, DR FJL and I saw MARY POPPINS the first time, the scenic problems stopped the show cold and we had to come back for another performance.
I'm looking forward to the news on ONCE. I think you and Richard should go onstage and have a beer at 1:30.
And I'm afraid that the more I see of Carey Mulligan, the thinner her acting seems to get. I heard she was great onstage, and I certainly enjoyed "An Education," but she doesn't do it for me as Daisy in these previews. Neither did Mira Sorvino or Mia Farrow.A preview of the upcoming "Great Gatsby." Not exactly inspiring, but then again, I was not a fan of "Moulin Rouge":

I like MOULIN ROUGE very much, but the GATSBY trailer did not make me want to see that movie.
JMK, what is the point of an abdominal massage?
This (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/166251-Bernadette-Peters-Audra-McDonald-Ricky-Martin-Danny-Burstein-Norm-Lewis-Will-Be-Featured-on-Tonys) looks great. But why does Godspell get to perform? They received 0 nominations.Because they paid to be on it.
Oh, good morning :)
Plumber is here hopefully repairing our Instahot unit. No, that is not a euphemism, though it probably should be.He is not the person performing the abdominal massage?

Sit-down break in Bryant Park. Overheard in a nearby phone conversation: "All the porn stars are going to be there."And you didn't follow them?
Not something we hear often in Middletown, OH!

DR ChasSmith, glad you got some Susan Gordon viewing, as others said, she was an absolute sweetheart.
If you search the innerwebs, specifically Ebay, you might be able to locate the issue of SCARLET STREET magazine which ran my interview with Susan. In fact she is the one, along with DR JRand61, who urged me to join HHW several years ago.

Oh great! I guess Susan wasn't perfect after all.
I realize it might be something my drug addled brain created; however, did someone mention a week or two ago, that there is another version of the song "Nothing" from A CHORUS LINE sung from the point of view of Mr. Carp?

This reminds me of something that Mervyn LeRoy said to me once. He was talking about Hollywood, but it certainly applies to this situation.
"The problem with the movies is that they take a Broadway hit and improve it into a flop."
Somebody posted the notes to the blu-ray.com discussion board thread concerning Journey. I'm sure if I wasn't already hated there I will be now :)
Just one more post, BK!
:D
Arrived at the Council offices to find out the meeting was yesterday not today. It's always on a Wednesday and was originally supposed to be today but I hadn't noticed that the reminder letter gave a different date. Doh!! I'd been looking forward to the usual buffet as well because with my fridge/freezer out of action I haven't got much food available. So no meeting and no food!
Wow, didn't even realize - 65,000 postings. I must eat a churro or something to celebrate!

I was hoping that Danise's absence meant that the work crews were so busy that she couldn't find a time or a place to post.

You are much closer. And I hope you are having a kidney-stone free day today.
My question for ASK BK day is:
What is your favorite stock play or comedy - the one that is produced at community theaters across the country.
Does ENRON count as a "stock" play?
Or HOW NOW DOW JONES?
In other news, I received a screener for the Wallander series BK has been raving about. Looking forward to viewing it. Hopefully it has no DNR or Edge Enhancement.

I am going to a progressive health emporium today to have what is billed as an abdominal massage. I hope they can deal with someone who's incredibly ticklish. :)

Yes, it is a Coward comedy. I saw it around 1965 and never laughed. Perhaps I would now if I saw it again.
This is one solution
Where is our DR Danise? Anderson Cooper was so disgusted by one of his guests he threw her off theshow!

IMHO, her best movie is FIVE LITTLE PENNIES with Danny Kaye.

We are back from ONCE and I'll have to repair my eye make-up before we proceed uptown to our friends' home for dinner. As DR Elmore predicted, it's a real tear-jerker. But wonderful...
At both NY Theatreworks and the Broadway production, by the time they got to the final version of "Falling Slowly" I was blubbering like a baby.

DR Ginny, or anyone who has recently been to a graduation...What should I wear to the Civic Opera House for Bryan's graduation? I was going to wear a summer skirt but the temps are dropping before we arrive which only leaves me with jeans. Of course I would dress those up with a blouse and jacket, or something nice.
