Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dainty and written in June, and now it is time for you to post until the dainty cows come home - and let's not forget that Dainty June had a moo-cow a true cow named Caroline.

And the word of the day is: HAIMISH!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
OMG Vixmom! Good thoughts to you my dear.
-
I'm still on NY time. I thought I would sleep later but it's 4:30 in MN (5:30 in NY) and I'm up. I came down to the Business Center since Anthony is still sleeping. I checked my e-mail and soon Breakfast will be ready. I may take the Saint Paul Pioneer Press newspaper and read it in the lobby.
-
Vibes and love to everyone from beautiful downtown Coon Rapids.
-
Backstage! I haven't read (the hard copy or the on-line copy) that paper for years. It was a necessary purchase when I was acting but I never thought it was a great paper. I wonder how much it's changed since it went on-line. I know they still publish a weekly hard copy but I don't want to pay over $3 just to see how much they have changed.
-
And now it's coffee and a newspaper while Anthony slumbers blissfully, unaware that I have left the room.
-
Thoughts to DR VIXMOM et al!
-
There were less than 8 posts when I arrived here this morning.
(Just for DR JMK)

First Act run through went very well. We folded in our new Lilly Belle Savage who fit right in! And now we are just waiting for ONE actor who has been on vacation since auditions to return....that happens on Monday.

TOD:
DVD - Dark Shadows Special Edition - some show cliips from the original series.
CD - Time Life the Ultimate Love Songs

Tomorrow night we are having an all included Anniversary Party for my brothers and sisters - featuring my sister Myrna and her husband Mike and my brother David and his wife Deneen.
But ALL wedding anniversaries will be noted in song....so that should be fun....after a LONG day at work.
-
DR MBARNUM I don't know what I was thinking putting June in TACM......maybe it's because I really don't like the girl who is really in it.
-
Good morning, all! I will ahortly be heading down to Toyland to deal with these two horn parts. Most of my weekend will be spent here at the apartment, trying to get a set of notes on EILEEN ready for perusal and critique.
I did have one peculiar dream last night; I dreamed that BK was directing a film of Cole Porter's JUBILEE; Rob McClure, who was so wonderful as the lead in the Encores! WHERE'S CHARLEY?, was playing the Prince, and our DR PennyO was in the ensemble. Thatis all I now remember about it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes for Our DR vixmom and her family! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My record with these Netflix DVDs is so bad, I'm not posting a TOD today.
DR JRand, someday I'm going to have to have the Dream O Meter tell me why I have dreams (all the time) of going to other houses, looking to buy or sometimes buying and wind up hating them.
I toured two houses last night and didn't like either one of them. One had holes in the floor and the other had a horrible bathroom with just a shower, no tub. Thankfully, I didn't buy either. It's true that I do watch House Hunters. I guess I'm just doing my own show in my dreams. I remember thinking that I was much better off with the house I have.
I can barely walk at the moment. I've got massive blisters on my feet due to doing too much walking up and down those steep hills in Kiev.
With that there above post, I seem to have become a Sr. Member.
We recorded HATFIELDS AND THE McCOYS and watched the first segment last night.
I thought it was pretty good and reasonably historically accurate.
[I had no idea that was Tom Berenger under that beard.]
So, if no new DVDs arrive, we'll watch the remaining 2 segments this weekend.
Regartdless of how accurate it may or may not be, I guess I didn't care enough about either the Hatfields or the McCoys to devote three nights to them.
Back from the dentist. I have to get a bridge. I guess you would call it a tooth bridge not a foot bridge. After some thought, I wonder if it should be a foot bridge for those times I put my foot in my mouth!
I'm watching part 2 now as I type this. I like historical drama's. I think it just proves that more things change, the more things stay the same. They were just two gangs no different than the street gangs of today. What's that saying about those who don't learn from the past are condemned to repeat it?
Wow, we have DRs travelling all over the world this! Have fun DRs JohnG and DougR...and be sure to post many photographs of your trips!
DR ChasSmith, I have yet to become much of a fan of Spaghetti westerns, at least not yet...although I have watched several due to interviewing a number of actors who went to Italy in the 1960s to star in them.
I always tend to enjoy their gladiator films more then their westerns. I don't know why.
-
TOD:
I forgot to include "The Hound of the Baskervilles" DVD which arrived yesterday and which I have yet to see. This is a Russsian film from a long running series with Igor Livanov as Holmes, described by the Sherlock Holmes Society as one of the best Holmes portrayals on screen. It's a 2 disc set running 146 minutes.
DVD:
I might dip into the complete season set of the old John Gavin western series DESTRY this weekend. Found it at Fry's for just $9.99. Got sets of two vintage Rod Cameron series, CORONADO 9 and STATE TROOPER also, each for just $9.99.
Fry's seem to be the only brick and mortar store around now that still carries a gigantic selection of DVDs, so I need to get up there (it is in Wilsonville, about 30 minutes north of Salem) more often.
Internet radio:
Currently listening to a song from the 1961 Bollywood film GIRL'S HOSTEL.
TOD:
Nothing planned, although I do have the Blu ray of "The Woman in Black" just sitting there waiting to be opened. A critical quote on the package admonishes me to not watch it alone. I'm a-scared to open it.
-
I made a false start on the spaghetti westerns last year. Wasn't quite ready. Then I saw the last part of one on cable not long ago, and could tell it's time.
I think the only gladiator films I know are the big name mainstream Biblical epics.
Back in the late 1990s when he had the studio in Ireland, Roger Corman wanted to do a remake of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. He even had a script, but he never shot the picture.
I think it was a smart move on his part. BASKERVILLES has been done and redone to death. If you're going to shoot a Sherlock Holmes movie, why not do a Conan Doyle that has never been filmed?
Actually, I did tell Roger that, but I don't think that was the reason he didn't make the picture.
I have used FaceTime. Naturally it took a while to figure out rather than just working easily - had to call Apple, but once I got a senior tech on he had me up and running quickly. Then I Face Timed with the East Coast Singer.
Went to Wal Mart to print out some pictures, went to Old Navy where I got a shirt for $3, went to Target where I got a pair of boys jeans (size 16) for $11, had a nice lunch and now I'm going to take a nap before the graduation this evening, which starts at 7 and then we are going to my Brother and Sister-in-Law's afterward for a small family gathering before the big party tomorrow.
Since the party doesn't start until 4pm tomorrow we will go to Cheapo Records first to see if there is anything they have that we must have.
That's all from lovely downtown Coon Rapids, Minnesota (not to be confused with Coon Rapids, Iowa, yes there are two cities with that name).
Well, this is an interesting article about Moss Hart's unpublished diary...not his memoir, "Act One," but a diary that he wrote about the same time that he was writing "Act One." He evidently didn't hold back on his real opinions of people. ::)
DR George, thanks for posting this! ACT ONE is one of my favorite books, factual or fictional. When I was working on JUBILEE, I reread it and still loved it. but I also learned a lot Moss never discussed. Whenever someone heard I was working on JUBILEE, they had stories about Moss, Cole Porter. Kitty, the original cast. Paula Laurence always thought Moss was going to marry her, and she went with John McGlinn to see Kitty in ON YOUR TOES when she replaced Dina Merrill on vacation. John said her first words when she took her seat were "Hello, Kitty! I'm here for your job."
According to press agent Philip Bloom, who died at age 84 in 1989 and represented everyone from Merman to Stritch, Beatrice Kaufman decided Paula was too trashy to marry Moss and she set up the Carlisle-Hart marriage. Oy!
This morning I had a really bad intermittent stabbing pain in my ankle, a little higher than where it hurt in Memphis. I decided it was time to go to the doctor. She diagnosed exactly what I did when I went on the internet. Peroneal tendonitis. I had it pretty much under control until the last weekend when I did a ton of work inside and outside the house. SO, it's RICE again for me
This morning I had a really bad intermittent stabbing pain in my ankle, a little higher than where it hurt in Memphis. I decided it was time to go to the doctor. She diagnosed exactly what I did when I went on the internet. Peroneal tendonitis. I had it pretty much under control until the last weekend when I did a ton of work inside and outside the house. SO, it's RICE again for me
Left or right, DR Cillaliz? I had the same thing in my left and figured NY/DC would either kill me or cure me. I'm much better now and have walked 2 days in a row on the treadmill. I think mine was from walking on the concrete basement floor.
DR Vixmom - I hope you have a relaxing, uneventful weekend!
Right, which will be something of an issue because I have a lot of driving to do in the near future. i don't think it will take long to get it under control. I already have all the supports I need to put on it. It's been bad in the morning so I think I'm going to try to sleep with the support on tonight
I was doing ok walking most of the day, it was just when it hurt today it was a really severe stabbing pain. Much worse than when I was in Memphis. I'm just glad to know I was right about what it is. I can deal with this
Tomorrow morning I need to be in Vermillion SD (not far from here) at 8:00 AM to help with Ride With Larry II. I've talked about Larry before. He's a friend with Parkinsons who rode his bike across South Dakota last year. This year it's a 50 mile loop. I'm just helping with registration, T-Shirts and lunch. I'm looking forward to it
-
Actually, my avatar was taken at the party when he ended his ride last year. I'll be wearing that shirt tomorrow
-
Better get some sleep. It's going to be an early morning.
Finished with my viewing for the evening.
I watched the trailer for the "Les Miserables" movie 3 times. All 3 times I got chilled and teary-eyed. I can only hope the rest of the film is a amazing as that 1:38 teaser
