I've been feeling that there have been many more visitors to our little site than ever before and I just checked our stats and boy is that right - last month we had just under one million page views - we've never had a month like that before, but the last five months have all been over six hundred thousand page views - a year ago we got only 300,000 page views a month - I suspect that by the end of this year we will have had close to eight million page views, maybe more. I knew we always had three or four million a year, but last month just surprised me.
Well, you've read the notes, you know what the worst film score ever is, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they've just informed me that Mr. Lloyd Webber is working on the sequel to Cats, entitled Cows.
And the word of the day is: BOSH!
How could anyone not be a fan of pancakes?? ???
Morning all! Hope everyone has a great day! Vibes all around! Sorry for my little rant last night. I was tired.
I was going to tell you all about my bird dog, Toby. I say "bird dog" because I had filled up two old dog bowls with bird seed and put them in the dog pen. I shut the door so none but the birds could get in and the birds are safe. Well with the rain I've been bringing the bird seed bowl into the house. Last night I sat it on the kitchen floor. Then I discovered Toby eating the bird seed!
I don't think it will hurt him. What I don't get is that he has his dog food. Lord knows neither he or Sheena go hungry.
Do you think he will begin to chirp?
Yesterday, Jennifer asked:QuoteHow could anyone not be a fan of pancakes?? ???
Well, count me in as a non-fan of pancakes. I will eat them, of course (name a food I won't eat, if needed), but I would much rather have a sausage and cheese omelette, or a good farmers scramble. And, given the choice between pancakes and sleeping in for another hour; I will vote for sleeping in every time.
good mrnng to all.
Had a bad few days with the first one with a trip to the ER. This has been my second trip in less than a month. My stomach problems have been acting up again and put me out of commission for the last few days. Seeing two doctors this week. Hoping that this can get to the bottom of it. I really hope that they can find something so they can know what to do to fix it

It's funny, but throughout my childhood and teen years at home, I would always eat pancakes whenever we had them, but they weren't something I craved or totally loved. I think I ignored them for many years after that -- the one syrupy breakfast thing I loved now and then being french toast -- and that may, in fact, still be my all time favorite. But now... NOW... I crave, and adore: pancakes, waffles, the aforementioned french toast... all of it...with real butter, fake butter, real syrup, fake syrup...you name it, it goes in my belly. It's a good thing we don't have any IHOPs or such nearby, because I'd soon be able to blame mucho extra pounds on them.
Jrand, how did the opening of CLUE -THE MUSICAL go?
Last night was the Double Anniversary Party at our house. ALL four of my brothers and all three of my sisters were there....with only one SPOUSE missing.
Lots of photos....wedding dvd's (my two nephews Grant and Garrett had never seen their parents wedding video and were torn between being fascinated and appalled)....
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of brother David & Deneen....and the 16th anniversary of sister Myrna & Mike.
Jrand, how did the opening of CLUE -THE MUSICAL go?
I will let you know when it opens on Thursday. However today IS the Open House.

Thanks, DR TCB.Morning all! Hope everyone has a great day! Vibes all around! Sorry for my little rant last night. I was tired.
You deserve to rant whenever you feel like it. This nightmare with your house has gone on far too long.

it wasn't my picture, was it? I tried to make it SMALL enough!

Thanks to all for the interest in my ACTING career.
In September I will be taking part in the Dixie Chopper 20th Century Radio Hour - which is a fund raiser for the USO and for the Young Eagles aviation camp. I will be doing a Shakespearean version of "Who's On First" with my friend Larry Sutton....he and I were The Old Man and Mortimer in THE FANTASTICKS a few years ago....no I WAS MORTIMER, thank you very much. He was also the long-time head of the technical department in DePauw University. This happens in September.
THEN in November, I have been invited to help celebrate the 150th Anniversary of DePauw by being one of the "guest" actors in a 9-night run of THE CRUCIBLE that will include student actors and "professionals".
Playing Governor Danforth is none other than DePauw alumnus Mr David Cryer. His wife is playing Rebecca Nurse and I will be playing HER husband, Francis Nurse.....although in the program you can bet it will be spelled "Frances Nurse"....ANYWAY...it should be fun. I don't even come on until the second act....so there's lots of down time and it's a beautiful theatre.....DePauw has more $$$$ than ... well ....anything.
So in essence I will be playing the husband of the stepmother of Jon Cryer....so I am two degrees removed from working with Charlie Sheen.
If nothing else, it will be interesting.
David Cryer was in Phantom as Firmin on Broadway and on the road for almost 20 years....

I am often guilty of it myself and someone needs to educate all of us how to condense the URL to a word or two. I've seen it done here and on other sites, but I am a computer moron. Andshort tempered.
And testy.

Where did everybody go?
I was outdoors doing hard labor with the weed whacker (however that's supposed to be spelled), leaf blower, and lawn mower. (You might also notice I like traditional separate words.) Last chance before another week of possible showers every day. Time to sip some ice-ed tea, and enjoy a cool-down shower. And then? And then? I get to settle down to Spaghetti #3!

I woke up feeling pretty lousy today. I got ready and was in the car getting ready to drive the 2 1/2 hours to go to my niece's baby shower. I decided that it was pretty stupid to do 240 miles round trip when I feel so lousy, so I called Sam and she didn't care at all if I wasn't there. My mom told me she thought I was crazy for driving that far for a baby shower in the first place, so I stayed home. I am VERY glad I decided to stay home. I feel much better now and can have another day to rest my ankle rather than driving 5 hours
Well yes.....
I was just trying to be funny DR ELMORE. Obviously, I failed. If you have to explain a joke, it doesn't work.

Kevin, I hope you didn't have any of the flooding in the area that you live.
Kevin, I hope you didn't have any of the flooding in the area that you live.
No, no problems where I live, TCB. Thanks for asking!
Speaking of Andrew Lloyd Webber (we were, right?), I'm now watching the DVD of "Love Never Dies," which is the Australian version. I much prefer Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess, who were in the London production. I do think that there are several good songs. The plot is another story.

I wonder if it will ever open on Broadway?
Will post more photos later. But the place is wonderful and peaceful, and that's what matters.
Dividing the cost up among six people (the house could actually hold eight) is what makes it affordable for me.

DR TCB, one of the couples we met on our cruise had been on a barge cruise in France. I got the impression, though, that theirs was more rustic and they even did some "crew" work. We'd definitely be poor persons at the end of this one!
Travel vibes for DR Ben and DP Anthony!

Yesterday I was watching the Seattle Mariners' game on TV (what else is new?). There was a little girl who was probably seven or eight years old in the stands. She was obviously a birthday girl. She was wearing a crown that was made of the same material as her outfit. Also, she seemed to have the same snotty attitude as so many entitled children seem to possess. This was obviously her birthday party. I saw, at least, four or five children of the same age sitting next to her. Now, the only reason I noticed her was that she and her group were looking terribly bored during the whole game, and that hey were sitting in the front row of of the stands at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago very close to home plate; so everytime they would show the batter up close, I got to see the birthday party.
Now, I have no idea how much those seats cost in Chicago, but in Seattle those seats would go for, at least, $400.00 a ticket. That makes a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese sound pretty reasonable.

Did we know that Sam was having a baby shower/baby?
Back from an all-day major family get-together, hosted by distant relatives who we had located through the internet. The idea being to exchange family history and to try and come up with a definitive family tree. In particular we learnt much additional information about my great grandfather's brother and his wife who moved from England to purchase an estancia in Buenos Aires in the late 19th century.

Congrats JRand1 on your upcoming theatrical events
Sam is former DR Samantha not DR Sam. DR Samantha is my niece. That can be a bit confusing. Don't know if you were here when she went to NYC with me and met a bunch of the HHW group and saw The Brain from Planet X and The Last Starfighter and of course Legally Blonde.
Don't know how much I've talked about it. She's due the end of this month. She's very uncomfortable but very excited.

And the doctors point? If they were going to fix one thing they certainly should have went ahead and fixed it so you wouldn't be in PAIN for the rest of your life. Geeez.I'm sorry you're still in pain, TCB. I hope it improves soon.
From what I have gathered from all my doctors and surgeons, the pain in my lower back is not going to go away. The suregery was only supposed to cure (in time) the numbness in my left leg and my ability to walk. Getting rid of the pain would require an additional surgery.
We're finishing up the last day of our visit. You and Ant have a safe and stress free trip home!
This morning and afternoon we had no plans so we saw Dark Shadows for the exorbitant price of $5.00!!!
I know I'm in the Midwest.
It was fun, not great, but fun.
Anthony is napping and then we are going to my sister's (one of 4) for one last meal. When we return to the hotel we may go in the pool one more time but if so I'll have to use the hair dryer on my swim suit and then pack it in a plastic bag tomorrow if it's not completely dry.
We leave for the airport about 6:30am tomorrow and we will be back in New York (Manhattan, the Center of the World) about 3 or 4 pm depending on traffic.
It's been a fun, relaxing and stress-free trip. I have to go back to work on Tuesday but it will be OK now that I've had a few days off.
Later, gaters.

For DR TCB and any other kindle ownersThank you very much Jennifer. I don't have a Kindle but I have the app for my Itouch. I keep thinking about buying one but just can't see it. The Itouch may be small but it works fine and does the same thing with the movies, address book, music, photos, etc.

That is appraently the problem, I had lumbar 3 and 4 fused during my last surgery back in 2002. The bad disks now are lumbar 1 and 2. If they fused those two, the entire lumbar area would be fused, which is apparently a bad thing that they don't want to do.
good mrnng to all.
Had a bad few days with the first one with a trip to the ER. This has been my second trip in less than a month. My stomach problems have been acting up again and put me out of commission for the last few days. Seeing two doctors this week. Hoping that this can get to the bottom of it. Off for some good old Sunday night TV watching: THE GLADES season 3 starts tonight (after a false start or two I grew fond of it) and MAD MEN.
Closing Day vibes for DR GEORE & Co.
good mrnng to all.
Had a bad few days with the first one with a trip to the ER. This has been my second trip in less than a month. My stomach problems have been acting up again and put me out of commission for the last few days. Seeing two doctors this week. Hoping that this can get to the bottom of it. I really hope that they can find something so they can know what to do to fix it
I woke up feeling pretty lousy today.
Feel better, Cilla!
Well, you've read the notes, you know what the worst film score ever is, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they've just informed me that Mr. Lloyd Webber is working on the sequel to Cats, entitled Cows.
:D :D :D :D
My sister Molly and me getting ready for the party.....I made wine spritzers....and we also served Mimosas....and played the Newlywed Game with the couples of honor....it was most wonderful.
BUT the best part was having my parents and ALL of their children together! ;D
Richard Dawson has died.
Closing Day vibes for DR GEORE & Co.
Thanks, Jack! Today, we had two great shows. Good audiences without too much interference from the kiddies. Now, it's all over...back to my regular life. :)
Doug, are you still in Kiev?
I'm sorry you're still in pain, TCB. I hope it improves soon.
From what I have gathered from all my doctors and surgeons, the pain in my lower back is not going to go away. The suregery was only supposed to cure (in time) the numbness in my left leg and my ability to walk. Getting rid of the pain would require an additional surgery.

Congrats on the show, BK. And congrats on your run, George.
Well, it really couldn't have gone better - this was a very difficult show to put together - to keep it all moving and fresh and get it in the right order. But we had a great cast, and everyone delivered in spades, even the one number that I had to get a little tough about - the performer delivered it flawlessly. Only one singer went up on a lyric and I don't even think anyone really knew - he just kind of moved around while Grant and Tom cleverly vamped and then Tom threw out the lyric to the singer who picked up and went right on. It was a very large crowd, very responsive, and the patter, which wasn't as easy as doing Lost in Boston or musical theater commentary, came off really well, I thought. Doing Don Knotts was so much fun - it really came out of the blue, but when I was talking about people who'd recorded Newman songs early on I mentioned Tammy Grimes - and then I did a little impression of Miss Grimes, which I do REALLY well and have done since I was a teen. Then a little later when I said that the first version of I Think it's Going to Rain Today that I ever heard was by Joel Grey, I did my Joel Grey impression. And then I just went to Don Knotts land. I also had some really fun interplay with Grant Geissman. Just such a fun evening all the way around.
