I keep my bra in place with spray-on tack. I learned that during my pagent days.

The orchestra parts are mailed. I believe I shall go to Tekserve and look at MacBooks, perhaps purchase one.
DR Ginny, the next time - although why you'd want to go is beyond me! - you go to the dying Middletown Mall, would you see if that men's clothing shop is still there and if they have any more of my caps? The manufacturer is Broners. The style is the O'Malley.
Thank you, dear!

Nice. I've been a PC user since the beginning of time, but have been thinking very seriously for the past several months that when it comes time to buy a new computer, I will cross over to the other side. Looking at the prices causes some wavering in that conviction, but really, I think it needs to be done.

Morning all! Have to make this quick because I've decided to start walking again so I don't have the time I did to post in the morning. I walked a mile today. I figure I will work my way back up. I really do need to get this weight off. I look horrible.
I can sing in a couple languages but I really don't speak anything fluently. A few words here and there in German, French, Latin, Spanish and maybe one or two in Russian. Oh and Klingon. That's a language too! :)
Everyone have a good and safe day! Vibes to all!

DR Elmore, I'm pretty sure the shop is still there and you may remember that Richard was looking for a similar cap. Maybe later this week I'll drag him out to the mall.
When we were in France last fall, I found myself remembering the Spanish words for things I wanted to say in French!
Travel vibes to Craig!
Is "retrograde" a kind of constipation?
;)
Yikes! Don't look at me!Why, should you have worn green? You wore green the last time.
Craig's flight has been delayed AGAIN. At this point he will not make his connecting flight. Usually when flights here to San Francisco are delayed so is the flight in San Francisco. As of know the SF flight is showing on time. :(Travel vibes.

DR JohnG. I had meant to thank you for the nice comments about the Herbert Songs. I don't know if anyne else on HHW has heard the collection or even liked it much, but we could sure use a positive review on Amazon. Both reviews posted there seem negative to middling to me, much like Suskin's for Playbill, generally dismissive. One says the first disc is great and the material gets worse and the other says (s)he could get six friends and a bottle of wine together and produce something similar, which is an insukt to most of the singers we cast. I know there are clinkers in 102 numbers, but I feel there are listeners happier with the recording than these two critics.Sure, there are a couple of songs that are not as wonderful as others, but the point of a collection is to show everything. I have only made it through about two and a half of the discs (mostly starting one and not having the time to listen to all of it.). What I particularly enjoy is the wistful feeling a lot of the music has. I had played some George M. Cohan last week because of the Fourth, and there is a definite musical heritage that both express that, well, deserves to be heard and preserved. The singers are gorgeous. I will also say I was a little worried that I would miss a full orchestral sound, but I don't. The music and the singers are that good. Zachary Strains (is that his name?) is the one newcomer so far who has stood out for me alongside the more familiar, to me, voices of Rebecca Luker and Ron Raines.

So, yes, I will try to go on there and post a review when I have finished. I owe BK a rave, too, for "Album Produced By ..."
All is quiet now and Kitty has come out of her hiding place. I need to re-program the new DVR. Of course I can't remember everything that was on there to begin with.
Craig's flight was delayed AGAIN. Long delays for flights with planes sitting there just waiting to take off.
This play may be about Presidents and elections, but it makes no political statement whatsoever. It's just fun.
It's also the (extended) book of the musical that I worked on with BK.

Zachary Stains. Our DR JRand61 is a huge fan, as am I.
I sent all the singers an email saying "if your friends are liking your work, tell them to post a good review." I hate being a shill. I don't think we'll be sending EILEEN to Suskin. It would be a waste of money and time.
Craig could use some traveling vibes today. His first flight has been delayed, hopefully not too long so he can catch his connection.
He is headed to Maryland to take a class he hasn't even been able to register for due to the major power outages and the holiday & weekend. This has been the only class out of the five he needed to take this summer that he could find available.
At least he was able to set up his introduction to Johns Hopkins while he is there and will be looking for a place to live.

Craig's flight was delayed AGAIN. Long delays for flights with planes sitting there just waiting to take off.
Reminds me of the trip I was supposed to take to Scottsdale a year ago last April.
Southwest?
With Mercury AND Uranus going into retrograde this week.....such delays are expected DR JANE.
We have to live with it until at least August 7th.
DR Elmore, regarding your executor situation. Just have in your will that all your assets be liquidated into cash and put into my savings account. I will take care of it all for you, I promise. It is the least I can do for you, my friend.I just got slightly choked up reading the concern and love expressed in that statement.

I did French at school and have done classes in German and Spanish. I am abysmal in all of them.

I found this casserole recipe on line and decided it sounded yummy (and simple) enough to try. First I was going to make it yesterday, and then I considered making it today. Now, I am not sure if I will make it, at all. It is an easy throw together recipe, but it requires me to boil noodles and to fry hamburger. I am worried about trying to do either while I am still in a wheelchair. I am not sure how to get the boiling noodles to the sink to drain, and I am nervous about knocking over the fry pan.
A Facebook comment from Varla Jean Merman, love child of Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine, on the death of her father:
Thank you all for your kind words. The loss of a parent is devastating, and my love for him was unrestrained. He was a quiet man, but his lawyers often conveyed his true feelings for me, and at least reassured me that he did know I was out there, especially when I came within 400 feet of him.

I actually wish that I had learnt more Spanish. So many vintage Mexican films are out on DVD now, but without subtitles. Knowing Spanish would make it easier for me to understand and enjoy these films.
I am guessing that the DVD companies releasing them figure that no English speakers would care to watch them, but they are quite wrong.

Did you see the photos of the plane back East that melted into the tarmac?
Yogi does not like that there are two men from Directv working in & outside the house. Kitty doesn't like the noises Yogi is making and is hiding. I'm locked in the laundry with them both.

I have to tell you all about what happened today.
You know I have a really bad boss. Well, I'm trying my very best to get the heck out of Dodge even if I have to take a step down. I put in for a Clerk 3 (data) position and that meant I had to take a data entry test.
I hate tests but I took the time to listen to Joseph's Confidence track before I went down to Civil Service on my lunch hour. I had Joseph's voice ringing in my head--"You are a confident person. Confidence! Confidence!" and you know, I went in, had no butterflies or that sick feeling I always get when I'm being tested on any thing and out of the 40 entries you had to do in the time limit, I got 39. With ZERO errors! The guy who gave the test said that was very good. It's a closed position meaning it is only available to folks who already work for county and I am hoping against hope that I get called for an interview. :)
I'm thinking that sometimes you may have to take a step down or back to go forward.

Time for bed. I'm actually taking today off. It's my aunt's last full day and I'm going to spend it with her and the rest of the family. She leaves on Tuesday to go back to California. Fortunately, we're not meeting at my parents' until 2:00 pm, or so...so I get to sleep in. I love it when that happens. :D

the food was good. It's a really difficult read and several people really tried. I started it, but after a few pages was falling asleep. We're going a completely different direction for the next one and reading The Art of Racing the Rain.

Back from finessing the Follies mixes. We actually didn't do that much to what he'd done - brought up two little brass things in the opening track, smoothed out and lowered two vocals that were a bit too loud and it sounds absolutely stunning. We compared it to the old CD and there's no comparison and if people can't hear the difference they're deaf in at least one ear. The ONLY problem is that One More Kiss, a song not included on the LP but added for the CD was not on the eight-track session tapes. My fear is that they no longer have it, and that what was included on the CD was a rough mix they'd done back in the day. I've e-mailed my guy at Capitol asking him to look for it, but I'm not holding out any hope at all. So, I have a decision to make, which is do I include One More Kiss where it comes in the program sequence, where it will sound VERY different - I can help it a little in the mastering by brightening it up and giving it some level, but the mix is worse than any mixes on the old album, which is why I believe it was a rough mix - or I can include it at the end as a bonus track. I have to give it serious thoughts, but would like to hear opinions.
