And the word of the day is: PARONYMOUS!
I did take the time. Here are a couple of photos that I took backstage AFTER the show last night.....the wig is a little worse for wear, but I think it is an improvement.

Today is my mother's 85th birthday. Wish I were in Louisville to celebrate with her, but I will give her a call later today. My sister is going in from Lexington for a visit with her son, so there will be some celebrating.
The omens are not good, dammit.
Fed Ex is no help ("we've received your fax"), and I can get no answers from the producers in Dublin over the whereabouts of the package delivered to the wrong address. I've decided to do laundry, something positive, rather than get drunk and/or go back to bed or go out and stomp pigeons and kick strangers.
Everyone is ordering the Kritzerland FOLLIES--even the guy on All That Chat who said he would never order anything from Kritzerland again.
Congrats to JRand on a good opening night!
Yes, I saw that post on All That Chat - he admits that he had a bad experience with customer service but that "maybe" that was because of how he worded his e-mail, i.e. he probably sent something completely offensive and then was saddened when someone probably answered him in kind.

How is the actor who plays Sam?
Cute.
He has a scene in episode 5 that seems to serve as an introduction to the character, which means more and hopefully better scenes are coming. He's also a good dancer.

Very conciliatory of him to admit that, wouldn't you say? Trying to make amends with the "maybe" there as a precaution so as not to have egg on his face just in case the gesture is not accepted?

DR Jane I just checked the listings for SMASH.

From the description it looks like ep 1-14 called PREVIEWS is the one that features Sam a lot. He is still a supporting character. But he definitely started to get a bigger part towards the end of the season.

I thought the screen captures for today's notes were really poor. The colors were all muted and there was too much brown.

Which reminds me. I saw a review of the blu-ray "Singin' in the Rain" in which the reviewer said "the film's inherent softness can be prohibitive". What does that mean? I never saw the film in 35mm but I don't believe the film could ever have been anything but pin sharp.

Conciliatory I don't know about, since he also says he has stayed away from us since. If he knew he was wrong in the first place, apologies were probably in order. I probably still have the e-mail somewhere - I tend to save them for just such occasions :) Then again, I don't think his ATC name is his real name.

Anyone else keep thinking they're talking about glamorous entertainer of yester-year "Jaye P. Morgan" on the news when they talk about "J.P. Morgan" executives on the news -
hmm, no one else? -
Guess I'm stuck in a former entertainment era.
Happiest of birthdays to DR John G's Mother!

Annnnd, it's Friday. The week seemed slow, but yet, too fast. Aida opens next week and Dear Edwina Jr the next week. Then it's another week and we're off to Munich. Oh, and next Sunday is a surprise 40th birthday party of the DP that I'm throwing here at the ol' homestead. I'm hoping for a party of epic proportions. Early evening, dusk, garden party, very reminiscent of the final episode of "Downton Abbey" season 1. Without the announcement of war, I hope.
Friday morning greetings! My sister and I left here about 8:15 for thevampire'slab, where I was scheduled for 2 different blood tests, one of which was fasting. We then went out for a nice breakfast, picked up a prescription for Mom, and did a little shopping at our pitiful mall. She brought me back home and is now on her way home to Michigan.
Great card DR TCB!

Thank you. I'll try to record this so I can see him.

Last night's opening night went well.....there were some line mishaps, but we had a very nice audience.....about 3/4's of a house.....and we are nearly sold out tonight.....
However the man didn't show up to do the slide show/promo DVD - and he has NEVER told anyone else how to do it.....so we couldn't figure out how to get the picture from the tech office television to the television in the lobby.....which also meant NO preshow or Intermission music.... AND he didn't answer calls or texts.
I am a bit worried that no one has heard from him.....but perhaps he will answer some texts or emails today.
LOL, a wig change does make a difference in a person's appearance, doesn't it?
he says, stating the obvious.

Our promised 85 degree day is now going to turn in to a low 70's day. AND, with possible rain showers thsi weekend. Ah, Summer in the Pacific Northwet!

Yes, but it also can make a huge difference in the way that an audience perceives a character...and that's really what's important.
Did I mention I'm getting a haircut tomorrow? I think I did.

Very true, thanks DR GEORGE
People do judge a book by its coiffure.
I just wrote an obscene number of checks, which, thanks to Follies, I was able to do.
Did any of the usual suspects go and see SINGING IN THE RAIN on the big screen yesterday? Naturally, Tacoma still didn't have any theaters on the list.

Is that an epigram?

This was on her 80th.
Guess Friday the 13th wasn't good for Richard Zanuck:

London is buzzing here with the Olympics fast approaching - especially for me because I live close to the Olympic site. Streets being cleaned up, fast road lanes being introduced, posters and sculptures going up.Is it still pretty cold there? Still need the heat?

I think I heard thunder this morning! :o
I do think maybe DR Elmore should hop a plane and do some stomping and kicking in Dublin. How hard can it be to let someone know if you received something or not?
Great Filichia on Friday. I have a couple of borrowed books I haven't returned, but when I think of the things I've loaned out that haven't come back to me (including the original vinyl of "Merrily We Roll Along"), I get grumpy.
Home from camp. I think I need a nap. I'm definitely on theatre overload. My brain hurts.
Tonight the DP and I are going to a German Beer Garden to soak up some culture before our trip in a few weeks. I kinda just want to sleep. But, we've been putting it off for a while.

That made me picture DR Elmore kicking up his heels and generally letting loose in the Dublin streets.
Well, tonight I'm off to my friends' house to see Abraham Lincoln vs. The Zombies on their patio movie screen (aka a sheet attached to the side of their garage). Not sure if I'll actually stay for the movie, but I told the host I'd show up if he baked me a birthday cake....well, I don't know if they are going to do that, but I better go just in case they do
Sly Stallone's son, Sage, has died of a drug overdose.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a Laptop computer and a Memory Laptop computer? Both are HP and they look the same. I tried reading all the junk incuded, but I got lost.
DR JohG, glad your mom had such a wonderful birthday!
Gosh, this day sure flew by!
The rain storm when I left work was so great that I had to duck into a nearby Indian grocery for an hour while it raged and flashed and thundered. Water was deeper than a half foot on the streets and cars everywhere were getting stranded.
I get home, which is 12 miles away, and we had no rain. Go figure.
I have been taking some cute photos of Kitty but have no idea how to post them. I know, I wasn't paying attention cuz I didn't need it at the time. I think I was still managing to do it the old way.
We have so many talented people here. Is there anyone who could volunteer to fix the problem for Bruce?
Back from the Sondheim event, about which more in the notes, which I must now write.
