Mr. Preston Sturges' very funny film CHRISTMAS IN JULY is on TCM this morning at 10:30 a.m. EST......if you like Sturges or Dick Powell....or William Demarest....I highly recommend that you give this a look.
Since the wonderful restoration of FOLLIES is on its way.I want Philemon, too.
I would like to see if BK can get the rights to restore the complete concert of Sondheim: A Musical Tribute which still has a lot of unreleased tracks including some marred by technical problems that I am sure PRO TOOLS could get rid of?
Also how about Schimdt & Jones' Philemon which as far as I know was only distributed by the composers and never had a commercial release

DR Elmore, will you get to see the show? Richard and I thought very highly of the one Irish Rep production we've seen and would go see this in a minute! Thanks for sharing the video.

good morning
today is Viixdad's birthday
Well I had another 5 hour nap. I think that the sleep is really helping me heal. I think I've slept about 12-14 hours a day all week. I'm not taking any pain medication except Aleve and may cut back on that tomorrow. I have a ton of work to do this week so I'm hoping my mind will clear and I can get it done.
I think some of my hobbies are rubbing off on her. She loves scrapbooking. She loves biking. She loves reading. And she loves swimming.

my very best friend has been my friend since we met on a church retreat in 1972 --- we have not lived in the same state (and often not eh same country!) since 1977 when she joined the Air Force - sometimes months go by without us speaking - but 40 years later she is still my dearest most treasured friend and I whenever we speak on the phone or see one another it is as if we have never been apart
I am wearing my store bought hair and new Vicar glasses to the audition. We shall see what it accomplishes.

Good morning. I slept another 12 hours yesterday and today woke up feeling almost normal. I'm a bit sore, but definitely on the mend. I need to find some range of motion exercises for my shoulder. That's the only thing my doctor recommended I should do.
I've always had a really close friend wherever I've lived but only a couple lifetime very close friends. Paul is my closest friend in Sioux City. We drive each other crazy from time to time, but that happens less often than it used to and it always passes. The strongest part of our friendship is that we accept each other and our limitations, we aren't always there for each other to do the every day normal sort of thing but, when it really matters, like when I was sitting by the road, about to be loaded into an ambulance.... I knew he would drop everything and go to the emergency room and that's just what happened.
Both back and front lawns are mowed. I LOVE my new little mower. It's so light to push and it did a very good job.

I have good friend's like that but they all live so far away. I do have friends & acquaintances I could call in an emergency just because they are nice people. In an emergency we want our friends.
I'm very lucky to be married to my best friend. When Keith worked he was usually out of town during emergencies.
I'm back in London after a few days in Wales, hence my recent truancy. Communication is difficult out in them wild parts of Wales, where I can't even get a signal on my phone!

Are you flirting with Debby's husband?
I'm up and was up at eight-thirty thanks to some creep next door who is obviously either doing work for or keeping watch over that million dollar piece of crap. The owners seem to spend most of their time out of town - heaven knows what they do with their poor dog during these long absences - just more entitled people who care only about themselves and nothing about boarding a dog for three weeks.

Maybe they think the dog is being well cared for at home while they are gone. If there are issues, different from when they are home vs the sitter, they might appreciate hearing about them.
Philemon: Harvey and Tom both hate that album and will not allow its release. I've tried for years. What they WILL allow is the TV version, which I have on CD here. It just doesn't sound great, but I suppose after five years I should send it up to my mastering guy and see what he can do with it.What about a DVD of the TV version?
PARTY PREP!!! All is well.
I was asked to write a Christmas song for the East Coast Singer's Christmas album - it took quite a while for me to find something I thought was a good idea - we only knew it should be a little different and funny. I wrote a funny ballad called This Christmas, finished it yesterday, did a little guide recording and chord chart for Lanny Meyers, who'll be orchestrating it, and that's that. And will it be recorded?

After two years in physical therapy I might be able to help you with that.
The first exercise my therapist gave me is still the one I use the most. I use it throughout the day no matter how silly I look.
I plant my feet so I'm balanced well.
I then bend over as if I'm reaching for my toes, going only as far as comfortable.
I let my arms relax and get them going in circles.
Try 5-10 one way and then back in the other direction.
I attempted to find an example of this on the internet. This is the best I could do. It also looks uncomfortable while I find doing both at the same time relaxing.

Can someone find Vixmom a better job? If we marshall all our energies maybe one will materialize. I think it's long overdue.

He looks very good in suspenders.
I was broadsided once. My car spun a bit. Don't mean to be negative, but do take care. When you feel up to it, maybe a series of massages.
A t-bone steak sounds really good right now
DR John G, I've heard so many wonderful things about your friend who died in the shooting in Colorado. She sounds like a wonderful person, you and her friends and family have my ongoing sympathy
Hello, everyone.
Colonoscopy vibes to DR Elmore! Hope it goes well and comfortably--well, as comfortably as such things can.

Tom, will you be talking to your doctor this week? Perhaps you could "remind" him that you're in a wheelchair and it's not so easy to come in. Their office policies aren't taking into account patients who are sick or not ambulatory. Surely he can see that. Or do you go to Doc Martin?

I suggest waiting until most of the rib & other bruising has eased up. I have found most massages are not gentle enough on injured shoulders.
I can't imagine the neighbors have a dog sitter for three or four weeks. I think they board the dog is what I think. I knew they were back yesterday because I heard the dog yelping quite a bit.
I have begun drinking the potion, and I hate this whole routine. I will sign off now and check in before I leave early tomorrow for the clinic.

Some of the cuts have healed but I still have some on my upper arm. My doctor said there could still be glass in there, but it will work it's way out if it's in there. I don't think massage would be good there either

Doc Martin is all about patient care. It is bedside manners he is lacking ;)

DR John G, I've heard so many wonderful things about your friend who died in the shooting in Colorado. She sounds like a wonderful person, you and her friends and family have my ongoing sympathy
I meant to mention that earlier. She certainly touched a lot of people in her short life.

Yes, she did touch many people's lives. I haven't been able to read much of the stories, simply because too much of it is still conjecture at this point. And that kind of lazy investigating irritates me. We can wait until we have some answers, not just some hyperbole that some bloviator spews to fill a few column inches or a few seconds of air time.
They've done right by her, it's all the speculation about the shooter's motivation and the comments of the neighbors and the conjecture about his schooling tied in, etc.DR John G, I've heard so many wonderful things about your friend who died in the shooting in Colorado. Other than a few words that her brother said he was told by the friend that was with her at the theater, all of things I have heard concerned her as an aspiring journalist and her work as an intern.
Just had the most delightfully delightful hour long telephonic conversation with Jill O'Hara.
I hate to say this but I think my Apple may be going rotten. I've noticed that sometimes it just throws a blank screen and I can't make it come back unless I power down and then back up. That just happened. I typed my post, hit post and the whole screen went blank.
Has that happened to any of you fellow apple users?

Must be a problem with the core. Perhaps a worm.

Well, tomorrow it's back to work. Aleve seems to be doing what I need it to do today. I got three loads of laundry done and vacuumed the livingroom where I've been sitting for a week. I just couldn't look at the cat hair on the floor for one more day. I'm trying to stay awake all day today, but am taking it easy and staying inside. It's 100 degrees outside.
I am going to have dinner tomorrow night with a very dear friend I haven't seen in several months.
That is nice. Does she live locally?
I got through almost all of mine. The taste wasn't so bad (I'd refrigerated it) but the sheer quantity of it, once down to the last two servings, was the challenge. Enough was enough, already. I think I stopped short of completing it, but I had the feeling they allow for that by making sure you have a little more than enough. At any rate, that worked for me.
Having observed the behavior of my young, entitled neighbors I can pretty much guarantee you that they had no friends watching their dog for four weeks.
I have begun drinking the potion, and I hate this whole routine. I will sign off now and check in before I leave early tomorrow for the clinic.
Oh, and I happened to see a certain DR, named Jose. We had a quick cold drink before the show. It was nice to see him and to meet his brother, nieces and nephew, who all happend to be at the same performance.

How nice. Another haboob alert.Sorry about that. Hope it's a hollow haboob alert.
So, George, I think that BBC download that I had problems with really affected my computer. I now have some irritating side programs, such as enhanced text that I'll need to get rid of. Weird that only I seem to have had the problem.
I'm sorry, Jane.

I believe it was an entire jar of Miralax.
Is this the one I got -- the first act that's split into two downloads of some 10 MP3s each, with the second act all in one?Yup.
John G., try downloading this program and you can easily uninstall all of the hateful Ask Toolbar. The program is pretty easy to use. Scroll down to the bottom of the page below and choose Free Full Downloads of Revo Uninstaller. I know it means downloading another program but I use Revo all the time and it makes uninstalling programs much easierThank you. Going to try it.
Once you've got the program up and running look for the Ask toolbar in the list of applications. Click on Uninstall at the top and choose the last option, which is full uninstall. Just follow the prompts, including deleting added Registry entries. It should get rid of everything.

Oh, I see. Kind of like these entitled parents who try and try for years to have a child, finally do, and then leave it with the in-laws so they can go have a vacation? I know of two recent such occasions, BTW, lest you think I'm making it up.
Then at 9:00 I'll watch the new episode of The Newsroom...my new favorite show
