Well, you've read the notes, the notes were berserk, and now it is time for you to post until the berserk cows come home.

And the word of the day is: TRUNCATE!
-
First post!
Well, I slept a little better last night. I am looking forward to the 3 day weekend.
Vibes to all! Hope your computer is doing better, BK. Wishing they would come and fix your AC, DR Elmore!
Have a wonder filled day all while I go into battle once again.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all! I slept an hour later than I had meant to. At 3:30am I was wide awake and I slept fitfully between then and 7:15 when I decided to get out of bed. I will shortly head to Toyland, unpack a bit and deal with some ROBERTA questions.
Today seems like Friday to me.
-
Good morning, all.
Had a very solid sleep, thanks to the perfect -- PERFECT -- temperature. Couple of dreams near the end turned into a repeating annoyance, which is unfortunate because there had been something interesting about them up till that moment, but I can't quite piece together what the proceedings were supposed to be. I have a few of the images, but they make no real sense now.
-
The coffee shop was full of children running around. As a child in the '50s, I and my siblings were taught to sit still at table yet nowadays parents let children run amock with no consideration for others.
I do like to have a good moan in the moaning morning :)
-
Yes, it's Thursday, but it's already seeing like Friday to me too.
-
I can't believe it. One reason I've awakened at four EVERY morning is because the back sprinklers have gone on - why is anyone's guess. Today they went on at four, then five and now just went on again. I went out there and it's not MY sprinklers it's the stupid neighbors' sprinklers which are right near my bedroom window. They will be getting a visit from me this morning. I should damn well go over there right now and pound on their door.
-
This is going to cause me some serious harm if I don't get some sleep soon.
-
DR Laura, I also use a grill pan on my electric stovetop.
-

I hope no one else has wretched traffic for the rest of the week.

We got some compliments on our work last night....but mostly were chastised for not making entrances quicker and using the same crash box for noise offstage at two different times.....the noises should be different, you know. Even though we are all rushing to get to doors on opposite sides of the stage and also do offstage "voices" .... I was hoping we could get a stage manager for some of that!!!

DR JOSE your photo album of the Arts Jam was very nice.
Thank You, DR JRand. I'm kind of surprised at how well they came out considering the lighting conditions were not actually ideal. However, those two lamps on stage and the track lighting seemed to work well for the Instagram filter I used. *In fact, one of the singers sent me an email this morning asking if she could use them on her website and in her publicity packet. :)
-
GHOST OF FLIGHT 401 is a good one.
For the most part I left out military/war titles, but there are some great ones. Also things like THE HINDENBURG. Of course MAGNIFICENT MEN isn't an airliner movie, which is what I'd want to concentrate on here, but I couldn't leave that one off.
Also very fond of things like CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, THE TERMINAL, and the short-lived PAN AM series.

In other news...
It's a gorgeous day here in New York City. I had planned on riding my bike today, but the weather prompted me to really ride my bike today. So, after my breakfast this morning down at City Bakery, I biked on over to Hudson River Park, then took the bike path down to Battery Park. I then turned around at Battery Park and rode all the way up to 96th. After a little bit of a breather there, I biked over to the Whole Foods at 97th & Columbus for lunch, then back over to the East Side via Central Park.

Right before I went to bed last night, I got an email from my friend, Jennifer. She's the one who runs operamission and presented the #artsongjam. When she was leaving her studio last night, she noticed that there was a Medical Examiner's ambulance outside her building, and that there was medical equipment and personnel on the floor where her (/mine) studio is. She figured that one of the residents on the building had passed - there are a lot of elderly tenants, and, alas, ambulances are a common sight at her building.
Tragically, it turned out that one of the other voice teachers, Marianne Challis, had passed in her studio. Some of her students had shown up for lessons, but weren't getting an answer when they knocked on her door. One of them knew Marianne's daughter, so they called her to see if she knew where her mother was. She didn't. So she came over to check to see if something had happened since she had a key to the studio. Sadly, when she stepped in the studio, she found her mother had died. -And, apparently, it happened sometime yesterday afternoon.
A dear friend of mine was a student of Marianne's, and I've played for a few of his lessons. Marianne also had a cabaret act, and she performed at The Metropolitan Room and Feinstein's.
We're all hoping that she died of natural causes, and that no foul play was involved.

Interesting. I've not even heard of my book, The Big Fisherman by Lloyd C. Douglas. Initially I looked at the book which is exactly 1 month before my birthday & decided to add it to my "to read" list. I must have seen the movie version by the same name, The Young Lions but I don't remember anything about it.

I pre-ordered mine the day you mentioned it, so I've done my bit. Is anyone advertising it in San Antonio? Will there be a book signing? Perhaps you and your co-author should hire a PR person?
The publisher has a PR staff, but they rolled out 25 of these across the country in one day. I think they're focused on Chicago or Nashville or Pittsburgh at the moment. We have one signing set up and are planning a second.

Last night we finally watched "Hunger Games" We are looking forward to the sequel.

Thanks, DRs John G and Jane. Sorry to be such a complainer the past couple of days.
Anytime. Yesterday was just venting, not complaining. Today with your mother, that has to hurt. :(
She's always been one of the most positive, upbeat people I've ever known - sometimes annoyingly so. It's really a downer to see her become so negative and withdrawn.
Trying on clothes that don't fit can do that to anyone. Her problem sounded extra upsetting. I hope you will find something she can be happy, or happy enough, with.
VIBES YOUR MOTHER QUICKLY BOUNCES OUT OF HER MOOD & IS BACK TO HER NORMAL "ANNOYINGLY" HAPPY SELF!
Well, she's in constant pain, she's terrified of falling, and her eyesight is shot...
But, thanks for the vibes, anyway.
I can really identify with the first two. I'm sure you know medications could also be causing depression.
DR Ginny, HUGS!

DR Jose where do you put your bike during all your stops?

Sleep vibes for BK ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Instead of watching the GOP convention, I'm watching another Aryan tale, the second half of 'Siegfried." And also "Night Gallery" season 3 came in at the library. So there'll be a few scary stories tonight.
-
Vibes to DR Ginny' mom. Maybe try pants that are loose in the legs like gouchos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Hmm...interesting, as in good, suggestion DR Jennifer. Pants like that can be fun & comfortable. Finding them might be another problem.
DR Ginny, have you tried altering a pair of her pants? Just have it taken in where needed.
-
All pants are loose in the legs on my Mom. She tried some today that weren't too baggy, but I'd made the mistake of telling her they were Size 8 and she didn't believe she could wear a size that small so she insisted that they were too tight around the waist. I'm tempted to buy some and not tell her the size.
-
Taking clothes home for her to try on might be easier than shopping in the store.
I think I was also under the impression the legs might not fit right. If she knows the pants are an 8 just tell her "this style run big" or something like that.
-
On the upside, I saw several things in the store today that might fit into my England wardrobe. Think I'll go back tomorrow and take a closer look.

Be back later!
-
Night, all. And thanks again for the vibes. Much appreciated.

They have posted the position that I am currently working as a contractor. I will be applying, probably later this afternoon, and would appreciate those job vibes and prayers HHW is so well known for.
I'm late -- but I hope it goes well!

R.I.P. Marianne Challis
I'm so sorry, Jose.

Ginny -- sweat pants? Or maybe some plain colored sleeping pants?
Or maybe some leopard-spotted sleeping pants?

I spent a lovely day outside. Well, a couple of hours, anyway. Most of the day we were driving to get to and from Flagstaff, which is up in the pine country.

I cannot wait to announce the next Kritzerland CD release, which I've almost finished listening to. It is absolutely breathtaking and seventy-eight minutes of breathtaking. It's going to make people go back and look at old threads on the Film Score Monthly message board (I just did - and wow are people going to not want to acknowledge what they posted there, including ME). At the time, the previous CD release was fifty-five minutes of score (the booklet said it was complete - not), in mono sound, much of it derived from scratchy acetates - but it was such an important release that everyone just stuck up for it (including ME). But in the intervening years since it sold out, other elements were discovered and we now have it all and in amazing and I do mean amazing stereo. Dear Readers Ron Pulliam and Doug Raynes will have mouths agape when we announce - and yes, they both took part in those old threads :)

Accuweather is nuts. They are saying we are under a flash flood warning from all the rain we've had tonight. Uhhhh. No rain.
-
Sounds like a great release, BK.

The conventions should have brought several chills, alone!
Tonight I switched on the TV just as Mr. Romney was going on about how gays will not be allowed to get married in the US, if he gets elected.
It always makes me feel so wonderful to hear a politician on television who thinks of me and many of my friends as second class citizens, or even lower....and gets applause for it, no less.
And it hurts a great deal when I actually find I have friends and relatives who support politicians with those beliefs.
I would never, and will never, support or vote for someone who is bigoted against gays, Muslims, Jews, Hispanics, Asians, or anyone else. Even if I agree with them on other issues...prejudice and bigotry trumps all for me.
-
In other news, BIG BROTHER is having a wonderful season!
-
...and two Chippendale's dancers are one of the teams on the upcoming season of THE AMAZING RACE...along with a goat farming gay couple.
-
I am thinking I might only vote against one person this time around. I will probably leave the rest of the slots blank.
-
And that's all the politics you will hear from me.
