Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in Uranus, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - the cows are currently in Mars trying to figure out why they're not in Uranus.
Gas is 4.97 a gallon on the corner where I live, glad today is payday, need to fill the tank.
And the word of the day is: LILOTES!
Nowadays they have recipes for casseroles from scratch down to handmade pasta. That's a little too ridiculous, and frankly, they don't taste anywhere near as good.
Good morning, all.
Life has been very busy lately. So, I will likely be E&T for most of the day.
Tomorrow is crazy day. CAT scan first thing to make sure the cancer is gone. Then the job interview.
Vibes for all.
Today is 10-11-12.
Good thoughts for John on the procedure!!!
But not as high as California.
And the word of the day is: LILOTES!

I was working on union stuff after I got home from the show, which was pretty good...not great, but pretty good (I liked the production more than the show itself). I had to check on some things and do some things and now I must go to bed.
;D
Morning
Happy Thursday to everyone.

Why oh why did I move sooooooooooo far from where I work. Stupid me.
:)

Think yourself lucky. This side of the pond it's the equivalent of about $9.70 a gallon.

TOD: Casseroles? Mom used to make them, and in the best worst way possible. Open a can of cream o' something soup, add pasta and canned meat, some canned cheese and cook. That's the way it was back then. Of course, they tasted great, despite all the canned food involved. Maybe it was all the sodium.
Nowadays they have recipes for casseroles from scratch down to handmade pasta. That's a little too ridiculous, and frankly, they don't taste anywhere near as good.
Since I moved to Texas, I have discovered the local enchilada casseroles, with cheese enchiladas rolled up and laid out in the pan and then topped with sauce and, of course, more cheese. A gooey mess. And great.
OH....I forgot the can of Cream of Chicken soup in my recipe.....
Hello 1 Guest.
Talk about fast delivery:
Warner Archive had a one-day 5 for $50.00 sale, which I took advantage of.
The DVDs were shipped yesterday....AND ARRIVED TODAY!
I'm impressed.

Druxy, I asked the other day if there was an audiobook of your one-woman play, LOMBARD.
Druxy, I asked the other day if there was an audiobook of your one-woman play, LOMBARD.
I signed a contract for an audio version about 10 days ago. The actress lives in Tacoma. I'm hoping to get the first 15 minutes by the end of this month. Then, I will give her notes, and we will continue.
The audio version of my Orson Welles play, however, is now complete and, unless ACX finds a technical problem, it should be up for sale in a week or two.

She gave an excellent audition, and I am looking forward to working with her.

I apologize if I spoke (typed) out of turn. I can delete my post, if you prefer.
I have a meeting at 10:15 in the morning and I need to get there earlier so that I can make sure that everyone who wants/needs to be there will be there. And I'm still up and I have a freakin' meetin' at ten in the mornin'! But now I must sleep.
Good night...anyone. 8)

I'm at a Starbucks all day as I wait for my car to be repaired. It will be a LONG day.
Hi All,
I don't usually post, mostly because I don't really have anything to say worth hearing. But today I think I'm going to make an exception. Someone sent the link below to me, and I think that some of the folks here might be interested in seeing it. Be forewarned: the video is very difficult to watch, at least it was for me. But those closest to her want people to see it, so I'm doing my small bit to get the word out. It broke my heart to see it, so if you're not up to it, don't click on the link.
Annette Funicello: Her life with multiple sclerosis (http://www.ctvnews.ca/w5/annette-funicello-her-life-with-multiple-sclerosis-1.984202)
We posted at EXACTLY the same time DR GEORGE!
DR VIN TEK - I almost posted that yesterday, but it was so hard to watch, that I didn't.Jrand62,
I wish I hadn't watched it..... But as you say - her husband is her primary caregiver and is positive about the video being seen....and Shelley Fabares, her best friend says that she is sure Annette would want it to be seen if it can help people.
I still wish I hadn't watched it.

What show did you see, George?
Capital Playhouse's production of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (http://www.capitalplayhouse.com/).
DR TCB - I think DR GEORGE wrote that he was seeing BUDDY HOLLY THE MUSICAL last night.
I have never seen a production of the show, although I really like the cast CD and I bought a souvenir book of the show so I could look at the pictures.
A casserole I would be interested in having the recipe for:
Anything with asparagus
Anything with brussels sprouts (I love me my brussels sprouts)

Not sure why i'm wondering right now.

Is the s on the end of the first word brussels silent/ Or does it not matter anyway?
Glad you are getting that new stove, DR Elmore. Next time I am in NYC it will make it so much nicer for you when you are cooking my meals.
I should send you my updated list of dietary requirements and favorite dishes, while I am thinking about it.

Gasoline prices are at about $3.95 per gallon here right now....but it changes every day.3.46 here
Nicky had a urinary blockage that could have killed him if we hadn't gotten it taken care of in time. They knocked him out, managed to drain the bladder and remove some backed up poop, and I was able to bring him home. He didn;t speak to me for the rest of the day, but he is much better today.
We may get rain on Saturday!!!! Wow! and possibly thunder. Haven't had that in months and months and months
I am sure that the vet's office is not used to senior citizens with red-rimmed eyes and sniffles bringing in their kitties to be treated.
Had my new bed delivered today so I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep ;D
Gas is 4.97 a gallon on the corner where I live, glad today is payday, need to fill the tank.

TOD:
I have never made a casserole.
My wife makes casseroles.
She puts stuff into a pot, cooks it and then I eat it.
That's all I know about casseroles.
BTW: My wife is an excellent cook.
Had a very fun time last night.
Traffic was good so I made it to Lake Oswego in just under and hour. Amazing, for 5 o'clock traffic!
As I drove up to former DR JMK's home, I saw him drive away. My first thought was "Uh, oh, he saw me coming." But come to find out he was just heading to Portland to pick up former DR Edisaurus and her everlovin' Greg. So I visited with JMK's wife Betsy until they returned.
For those who have met her, I don't have to tell you how delightful and charming Betsy is! And oh, what a great cook! Main dish was a meatless spaghetti with almonds. I believe I had two or three helpings, it was quite yummilicous! ;D
Dessert was coffee cake...next to chocolate, this is my favorite kind of cake!
Finally meeting former DR Edisaurus and her everlovin' DH Greg was such a wonderful thing! Fine people, the both of them! I hope they have great fun exploring Portland today and much success with the new documentary "Doc Pomus." I am very disappointed at not being able to attend the showing on Friday night :(
One additional highlight was visiting, petting, and hugging dogs Beejee and Blanche! Such beauties! I wanted to take them both home with me!! Normally JMK locks them up in the dungeon when guests come over, for fear of them slobbering on people...however, I begged Betsy to let them roam free with us for the entire evening! Oh gosh, I just love those two dogs!
This weekend I will post photographic evidence of our get-together!

The newest Bollywood hit film BARFI! has been playing all week at Clackamas Town Center Theater and I didn't know it! Dang...it ends tonight.
I am told it is quite good and has shades of THE NOTEBOOK.
Here is the trailer...DR Jane, I think you will like this much more than the E.T. remake1

He seems to be getting better all the time, and his appetite is back to normal. However, every time he hears a noise he thinks someone is coming to take him to the vet again.

Beautiful!
BABY JANE is on TCM and I think I'm going to call it a night by falling asleep to it.
I'm interested in the next thing coming up, another Robert Aldrich film called LEGEND OF LYLAH CLARE (1968) which I know nothing about except that it stars Kim Novak, Peter Finch, and Ernest Borgnine. I might be the last person in the U.S. of A. with no DVR, so I can't record it. But I see it's in the Warner Archive.
For anyone interested -- I had a pretty butterfly in the yard today:

Time for bed. I do have a hearing in the morning and have to deal with the traffic in the afternoon...Bill Clinton is coming to town. I've seen him twice or would probably go, but it's an outdoor event and you can't usually see or hear as well at those events.
That's wonderful, Matthew! Will you take requests? Can we make requests?
Tonight, I had a dream come true... and a new job. I've always wanted to play piano in a restaurant. We have a small local chain of restaurants in the Bay Area that had a chain of "Opera" Cafe's where the waiters/waitresses sang. Over the years, the singing became less and less and recently, the pianists sang as well as played. Well, to make a long story short, I "Auditioned" this eve, played and sang and accompanied some people, and got a position there playing on Saturday nights starting in November. I'm really excited to finally get to be able to do something like this.
How did I get in? Well, I guess I can mention that the DP is leaving the Four Seasons Hotel to take a job as Bakery Manager for Max's Restaurants here in the Bay Area. Same people that have the aforementioned "Opera" cafes. He will over see the bakery for the restaurants as well as their wholesale and catering departments. It's a great move for him financially and for his career. It's a great position for lots of room for growth and incentives.
And these are the days of our lives.
