Title: EPISODES THREE AND FOUR
Post by: bk on November 15, 2012, 12:10:15 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of episodes three and four, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently shooting episodes three and four of their web series, Chewing the Cud.

Good morning, all.

Banana.  Two eggs over medium.  Dry rye toast.  Coffee.

The eggs were fried in just a smidgen of butter (or a Midge of butter, if you're watching Vertigo), as I'm only halfway through this course of Doxycycline and am guarding against undue dairy intake.  This Midge of butter, however, was due.

Good morning, all!  I'm still pondering last night's peculiar dream which shifted between Middletown, OH, and Manhattan and involved my dad and several college friends I've not seen in forty years. My colleague Curtis was also in the dream; we were trying to find him in a Manhattan bar with several floors.

I'm off to Toyland. I slept late and accomplished little yesterday. Back to work.

Last night I watched the beginning of LEON MORIN, PRIEST which looked wonderful before I blissfully passed out not three minutes into the film.  Woke up exactly halfway through and made the correct decision to forgo trying to watch it at all then, in favor of getting a proper night's sleep.  So, tonight.  But I was stunned, stunned, to find that it has not just Patricia Gozzi in it, but two other Gozzis -- Chantal and Marielle.

Certainly our audience is not on Facebook - the only way we get viewers there (because friends are too busy making with the posts about themselves that few read - which is the BIG problem there).  So, if you don't come here, and you miss the "local" announcement on B'way World, then you're out of luck in terms of people knowing, outside of the channel subscribers.  With the switch at least people would see that we're doing the show.

Hmmm...well, I did recently catch this obscure political "thriller." The film was very educational, as it dealt with how bills get passed in D.C., but it was not in the least  bit entertaining, despite what the lurid poster might insinuate.

The only "shocking" thing about the film was that it actually released to theaters.

I bought it from Amazon.co.uk, but on the listing at www.soundofmusic-shop.de (http://www.soundofmusic-shop.de/CD_ROCKY_-_DAS_MUSICAL_-_Original_Hamburg_Cast_2012.html), there's a YouTube clip from a German TV show (I think) of rehearsals with an American cast, including Andy Karl (who was in Legally Blonde) playing Rocky.

Finished with today's shoots.  Actually, the second shoot also only took about forty-five minutes - and we did two more takes than the morning shoot.  But when you have such great pros in front of and behind the camera, it's very quick to do a three-minute scene.

I have just said yes to Broadway World.  We'll see how fast they can move from here on in, but I'm certainly willing to premiere episode two on You Tube if they can't move fast enough.  I think the plan is a major press release on Monday, and they'll air all of season one immediately, followed by an immediate airing of season two's first episode, and then, if it all works out, premiering episode two on November 25.

I've only just noticed that the Kritzerland site is shamefully misspelling Miklos Rozsa's name as Rozas.

I believe this was Mr Rozsa's cousin from the old country.

I have to say, it's so great that the DGA is finally allowing us to get screeners like every other major union.  Today I got The Dark Knight Rises, Cloud Atlas, and Argo.  They do come via UPS and Fed Ex and have to be signed for, so from now on there will be a permanent sign on the front door with my permission and signature to leave packages.

I don't see that many movies, but I do recommend Argo.

The show also got pretty bad reviews. Jackson was spared for the most part and it was the play that was most criticized but it sounds pretty dull and unfunny. I was surprised it never went on TDF. I would have bought a ticket just to see CJ and Daniel Breaker (he's very good, I liked him in the hot mess called Passing Strange and he was very good as Donkey in Shrek).

Tonight's movie was LEON MORIN, PRIEST by Jean-Pierre Melville (1961) which features a very young (four years before RAPTURE) but nevertheless charming Patricia Gozzi.  Very interesting film.  I'd say it's pretty unique regardless of who'd made it, and it's apparently not at all typical of Melville (whose films I've only seen bits and pieces of) or Jean-Paul Belmondo.

I would think they would hold on until after the Thanksgiving weekend with the hope of a bump in the attendance.   What good religious American family visiting NYC for the holiday wouldn't include the Macy's Parade and Cheyenne Jackson naked on their schedule?

It will be at my brother's house. Not sure if I'll spend the night or just go up for the day, but I am going up there.

I decided it wasn't really necessary to sing through the show again - the order works and I just have to get the thing on its feet (via Skype or Face Time).  So we went to Jerry's Deli and I had some matzo ball soup and we made a rehearsal schedule.  The Christmas CDs came in today and were shipped.  It is the most beautiful Kritzerland package ever, probably because we didn't have to foot the bill.  In fact, it's a stunner and the CD within ain't so bad either.  Those who bought it I hope will be very pleased with the purchase.
