That reminds me, I still need to read CATCH ME. It still isn't available at my library as an eBook, guess I'll buy it.
BK, you would think that since it was THEM WHO MADE THE ERROR that they could just fit you in for an eye exam right away at the place closest to you!

This goes without saying.
So let DR Jennifer and I both say it.
DMVs, alas, do not get quite into that level of customer service and satisfaction.
I swear, there can't possibly be one thing that BK missed while growing up. And I can't begin to say how much I envy that.
This LADYBUG, LADYBUG, for instance. Never heard of it! I did go to DAVID AND LISA, and even if my memories of that are sketchy, I'm forever grateful (not sorry) I honed in on the Frank Perry type of film at that tender age. I have to see this one. Stat.
DR ELMORE we need to hear the Euan stories from Kansas City Rep.
Wednesday.....
I saw Ladybug, Ladybug on TCM last year, I think.....most interesting. I had read about it, but never seen it. It is certainly worth looking for.
Morning.Thanks, Sam.
Congrats John G.
;)
It's windy this morning. I think The Association already took care of musicalizing Windy. Not be confused with The Beach Boys song Wendy. And of course, Lerner and Lowe went as far as giving the wind a name called Mariah. Or was it Maria?
Did I mention it was windy?
On the neti pot front, I prefer the item below because sometimes I get so clogged that the neti won't work:

I've spent two hours peeling potatoes and slicing celery and carrots , and the soup is finished. It smells quite good. I'm going to clean up and go to Lincoln Center to meet Niall and Paul Byrum. On my way back, I'll stop at a drug store and pick up some more freezer containers, and put the soup away. And when you clean up your mess, you can come start on mine. :D
Then, I will clean up the mess I've made.
And the word of the day is: HORTATIVE!
RIP Ruby.So sorry to hear that, Laura.
RIP Ruby.
Help me understand something:
A couple of years back, when Peter Jackson was not only producing "The Hobbit" but was taking over the reins as director, the plan was for two films to be made from the one book.
Now I'm given to understand there are THREE films from this one book? THREE? Seriously?
Well, it seems I get to go to the employee appreciation party tonight for the company I'm leaving Friday and the Christmas party for the new company next Saturday.
RIP Ruby.
DR JohnG, many congrats on getting the job!!!Thank you, MBarnum.
Tonight I take the last Doxycycline, thank the Ye Gods. Has it really been 30 days? Seems like 30 weeks. Tomorrow, dairy products. Just because I can.And ice cream. Just because you can.
You can also submit Outside The Box for an Emmy. I believe there is a category for it now.
Has everybody bought their PowerBall tickets?
Sorry, I thought it could make an interesting fictional biography.

Can you request/suggest ebooks? I'd think it would work the same way as regular books. And do they have the other books as ebooks?
Also, is it really that bad on your shoulder that you can't read any hardcovers? Even if you lean them against something? I know I usually use my bagabook. BUt even without it, I don't find I have to hold the hardcovers much.
Woohoo I got accepted for Touch and Go by Lisa Gardner.Congratulations!
RIP Ruby.

What a day! As mentioned in the notes, I've been having a devil of a time falling asleep before three, and that was certainly the case last night, once again. Once asleep, however I slept until the phone rang - and that was 11:50. I couldn't believe it. I had to to meet dear reader Jeanne at 12:30. I was out of the house in eight minutes flat, but then had to fill the motor car up with gas. Timing was on my side going to Beverly Glen - got there very fast, but was behind slow drivers until the road splits into two lanes. Then I zoomed past Mulholland and was zooming along when an Acura turned right and got in front of me - that they had to do very quickly. After that, however, they were going about fifteen miles an hour all the way down, past Sunset towards Wilshire at which point I finally got around the fool. Then I zoomed all the way down to Olympic, turned right, turned left, zoomed down to Pico and got to the restaurant to find no street parking in front, so I had to park a block away. With ALL of that, I was only five minutes late - pretty good!
Thank you all. Ruby was loved by many.
Jeanne had what she always has: a small salad and fettucine alfredo
I was never late while traveling in Los Angeles. I would always leave 2 hours ahead of time. Would often arrive a few minutes early, even.
Next time I am renting a car with a GPS.
Woohoo I got accepted for Touch and Go by Lisa Gardner.Congratulations!
I purchased CATCH ME and will read it after I finish my current book and read a library book.
Our toilet is fixed and we have a new faucet on the kitchen sink.
Amazing how little things can make you happy.
One more day.
Some days living in NYC is so neat: I got out of a taxi at 81st Street & Broadway and held the door for Phyllis Newman and her nurse/companion to get in. It was nice to see her. She said she couldn't take my hand since she'd just done her nails. Jungle Red, I believe!

I've been getting rejected a lot lately for some ebooks I really want. But I had a good feeling about this one since I was accepted for CATCH ME.
Vibes for DR Jane's friend!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I always want to fall asleep when I get in bed - and I'm tired when I do - there's just so much going on in my head and so I'm thinking instead of sleeping.

I'm enjoying the song, THIS CHRISTMAS, as well as the CD. I've always said that there just aren't enough Jewish Christmas songs.
I could see it still might taste good. Did you have cheese in it today?
As much as I loved it, it's such a rich dish that I eventually quit ordering it. That's quite a while ago, and I'd probably go for it on occasion now, though I really think it would work better in a "side dish" portion than as the main event.
Condolences to Ruby's friends and family.
One more day.
Is tomorrow your last day before vacation?

The more you review books will that increase your chances of receiving more to review?

That's why I read until I fall asleep. My problem is I tend to wake up again, often with in minutes or a couple of hours.

I"m not sure. Each publisher has their own set of rules. Some don't even allow any bloggers (only librarians...). I don't really think that my reviewing will change the minds of those publishers who only accept bloggers. But if I do get accepted for a certain publisher and they see my reviews then that might help them accept me next time I request from them.
DR Ginny is this on your diet?
DR Ginny is this on your diet?
Not really, DR Jane, which is why I don't use it nearly as often as I used to!
A Broadway Christmas is full of them, or at least Christmas songs written by Jewish people.I'm enjoying the song, THIS CHRISTMAS, as well as the CD. I've always said that there just aren't enough Jewish Christmas songs.
;D So true.
ChasSmith, Amazon Prime is incredible and more than pays for itself if you order from them a lot. It's free two-day shipping on anything, and you usually get pre-orders on release day no matter what. And add to that that you can watch any movie on their site for free - just well worth it.

I agree. Amazon Prime is a great investment. It paid for itself within the first couple of months.
Then I zoomed home, stopped at the mail place and picked up one lonely package, which contained the new Blu and Rays of Gypsy and Deathtrap, so I've got my viewing for the evening.
I've been talking, in a private group, on Facebook with a friend who is beginning chemo tomorrow.
I hope her surgery really got it all cuz the odds the chemo will work are not very good. Sigh.
I don't go to the movies very often. i don't really enjoy sitting in a seat for 2+ hours.
But yesterday I went to see Breaking Dawn part 2. And I was looking forward to seeing some of the previews. I did see one for a movie that looks funny with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as the grandparents.
I also saw the one for Les Miserables. It's interesting that the preview is all in song.

NY doesn't seem so large the way New Yorker's tend to run into people they know.
Yes, but I think I read somewhere that the movie will not be entirely through-sung.I don't go to the movies very often. i don't really enjoy sitting in a seat for 2+ hours.

Isn't the entire musical sung onstage?
That should have say my prayers for your friend do not despair, chemo worked for meAnd more prayers.
I've stayed away from fettucine alfredo ever since I heard it described as a "heart attack on a plate." That doesn't mean I don't eat other food that's not good for me!

I would LOVE to see Vixmom win the Powerball. Personally, I don't see why anyone would need $550m, but I know Vixmom is a generous person and would share with herDRsfriends.
I find it interesting that her Nook has the same dysfunction as her old laptop. Maybe something in her Internet connection? ;)
LOL.I find it interesting that her Nook has the same dysfunction as her old laptop. Maybe something in her Internet connection? ;)
Yeah Jeanne, that must be it.
Just watched "Miracle on 34th Street." In one of the previews from 1947, both a teen girl and a studio boss use the word "Groovy." I didn't realize the word dated back that far.
Finished with my viewing, about which more later.

Unfortunately yes. It would be ok if I didn't do most of my reading in bed with the light out. I even rest the Nook on top of me while I read or roll on my side with it on the bed.
It is my understanding that it is the publisher's who have decided not to sell certain eBooks to the libraries. I could ask about this. Our library eBooks are a statewide library service vs through our individual ones so I'm not sure how I could request a book.
