Well, you've read the notes, the notes were twitchy, and now it is time for you to post until the twitchy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TRUNDLE!
-
~~~Break Legs Vibes for BK and Cast!!~~~
-
Good morning, all.
Break-a-leg vibes for BK and company. Sounds like a fun holiday show.
-
Good morning, all.
(Said over some very good sourdough toast and coffee.)
Of course I wouldn't even pretend to imagine it's as good as Bay Area sourdough, which I've had but not for a long time. But sourdough is such a great bread, and some of that goodness still comes through in this loaf freshly baked yesterday at the local market.
-
Feel better vibes for DR Vixmom!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
DR Ginny, I really enjoyed seeing the outside of your house with the decorations!
-
DR TCB that is great news about being able to drive!!!!!
-
DR Jane, re: my tv not turning on. It is not a hook up problem. It is the tv. IT won't turn on. It's old and has had this problem for a while. But there were ways around it. But it just won't turn on. :(
-
Break Legs, Everybody! For those of you NOT in show, please don't break your legs. Good vibes instead.
-
DR TCB, that was indeed great news to read last night. Did you exclaim "Mein Fuhrer! I can drive!"?
Now, if only you'd hit the road right then and driven through the night, you might have had a chance of making it to L.A. in time to catch "Turkey Lurkey". Talk about yer missed opportunities. :)
-
Good morning. My DH had to remind me that today is Sunday. I thought it was Monday.
-
Break legs tonight!
-
Okay, one more slice of sourdough toast. But that's it. I swear it. Really. It's not a problem. I can stop any time.
-
Great show vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
I very much enjoyed the photos from DR GINNY and DR JOHN G yesterday!
-
Good morning, all! I slept late and I'm staying home today in perhaps another vain effort to shake this cold. The alarm rang at 7:15, and I thought, ugh - another hour, please. The next thing I knew, it was 9:45. So, I'll crash here all day, perhaps work on the orchestration that I'm doing for fun and watch some DVDs.
DR George, TMI maybe, but I heard Bette Midler somewhere yelling "I feel like breaking up somebody's home!"
BK, break a leg tonight! Bill Hayes is great. I met him after the Kennedy Center's so-so WHERE'S CHARLEY?, in which he and sally Ann Howes played the older couple.
More coffee!
-
It is December 2 - it is 58º - that is all.
-
And the word of the day is: TRUNDLE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: SPINNING WHEEL
-
Break a leg. BK!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
It's a grey but mild day in Manhattan.
-
Break a leg with the show tonight.
-
We have no plans but I may go out on my own just to get out of the apartment.
-
Tomorrow we begin the bag packing. T'will be a long but worthwhile day.
-
Tuesday I will be excused for the morning as I go to the dentist to finish my implant (or so they say).
-
And that, my friends, is that.
-
Good morning!
-
Let's Put On Our Dancing Shoes And Dance To:
"ERBIE FITCH'S TWITCH"
-
I have never seen Sundays and Cybele - although I think it was on television many years ago on a local channel....but it was the dubbed version, and I didn't like it much.....or maybe I am thinking about that French film with kids that has LOLLIPOP in the title somewhere....
-
TWO!
-
Break legs, BK and co.!
-
Will be leaving soon for the screening of "The Guilt Trip."
-
I just completed a new trailer for the audio version of ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker.
I think it's fun. Enjoy!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv9jvya6FZI&feature=g-upl
-
I'm up - I think I got at least eight hours so that's good.
-
There is no way to watch Sundays and Cybele and appreciate it without seeing it in its original scope ratio. But I don't think it's ever been on regular TV.
-
Happy December 2, everyone!
If there is anyone who missed out on the Broadway Cares Angela Lansbury/"Mame" holiday ornament (the first in a series that includes Carol Channing as Dolly, Chita Rivera as Charity and Bernadette Peters as Dot), they have yielded to popular demand and had the ornament reproduced. The cost is $60 (the same price they charge for each new edition). But, it's a unique series that, if you're like me and had all but the first one, you'll want to be complete.
-
Watched two movies last night.
On Blu ray, "DeathTrap" which was far more enjoyable than when I suffered through it in a theater. It's still flawed, of course, but it's interesting to watch Christopher Reeve work post-"Superman".
Very fun Johnny Mandel score (that never saw a release on LP or CD).
Then I watched the Warner Archives issue of the made-for-TV "Dress Gray". Still riveting. Excellent quality DVD. Very atmospheric and chilling score by Bill Goldenberg.
-
In keeping with the theme of the day...
Twitch-a-dee-doo-dah, twitch-a-dee-ay
My, oh my what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Twitch-a-dee-doo-dah, twitch-a-dee-ay!
-
There is no way to watch Sundays and Cybele and appreciate it without seeing it in its original scope ratio. But I don't think it's ever been on regular TV.
So it must be the other thing I am thinking about....
-
From DR Vixmom:
I am borrowing the Vixter's laptop I find it too difficult trying to type on the Nook
My new Nook HD is much easier but not as easy as a computer.
-
From DR Vixmom:
STILL have this stupid head cold thing --- was on antibiotics all week to no avail
You should not be taking antibiotics for a cold!!!!! I hope it was more than that and they were truly needed.
GET WELL VIBES!
-
I also recommend the BC/EFA series of "Carols for a Cure," if you like carols. Some years are better than other, but there are real gems, such as Antonio Banderas singing "Los Peces en el Rio" and Bernadette Peters singing "White Christmas." This year's features the cast of the never-to-open "Rebecca."
-
From DR TCB:
I drove my car today for the first time in 11 months.
But I stopped and bought myself a mocha and then drove to the Rite Aid to pick up my prescription, which was the main reason for the drive. Then I drove home, parked the car, and then got myself back into my apartment with no problem.
A little independence, CONGRATULATIONS!!
-
From DR George:
TMI...I know.
LOL, no. You did the right thing which doesn't surprise me.
;D
When we lived in Pennsylvania Keith worked with someone that lived in San Francisco. He would take us unbaked sour dough loaves that could also be kept in the freezer until I was ready to bake them. They were delicious. When we moved to Tiburon (outside of SF) I could not find any unbaked loaves. Of course I could find plenty of fresh baked loaves to purchase to take home.
-
The alarm rang at 7:15, and I thought, ugh - another hour, please. The next thing I knew, it was 9:45.
Good, you needed it!
CONTINUED FEEL BETTER VIBES!!
That should feel satisfying.
The new version of iTunes is completely irritating. Everything is different now. The playlists, which were ALWAYS viewable all the time on the left are gone - you have to click "playlists" now to see them. Stupid. Making an mp3 from a WAV or AIFF file - used to click on Advanced and "make mp3" - not anymore. Now you have to go to
File and Create New Version and then you select - so extra work and completely stupid.
Agreed. Another example of something which worked perfectly fine being ruined by the constant need to change things.
-
I have never seen Sundays and Cybele ....
I don't think I've ever seen it either but I've added it to my DVD rental list.
-
Has anyone read FATHERS AND SONS by Ivan Turgenev? I'm shocked that I'm finding this boring.
-
Good morning. My DH had to remind me that today is Sunday. I thought it was Monday.
That is because you were at church yesterday.
Indeed.
-
Has anyone read FATHERS AND SONS by Ivan Turgenev? I'm shocked that I'm finding this boring.
It was not my favorite. I found the main character too irritating. Don't remember much else about the book.
-
Loving this BBC "Pickwick Papers." Very droll, and I love the way the Pickwick visually reminds me of Mr. Toad in "Wind in the Willows."
-
Page two? Two pages?
-
It's the holiday season - let's get some posting going on, shall we?
-
Or there will be hell toupee.
-
I did do a two-mile jog and in about forty-five minutes I'll head over to The Federal to do the video check.
-
Page three? Three pages?
-
I shall shortly be on my way to The Federal for video check, sound check, artichoke check, and show. And I truly hope that upon my return we'll have had a frenzy or nine.
-
I would like to get a new toupee.
-
Thanks. I keep reading how wonderful the book is, and it is a classic, still I'm not sure I want to get through this.
Mr Toad-very funny.
-
It will be almost 9 pm. before we see The Amazing Race tonight.
-
Now we are seeing Mid-Season/Winter Finale episodes of series....which means a few weeks of reruns are just ahead.
-
I now have two books from the library I don't want to finish reading. I'm wondering if it is the books or me.
-
It's time for TAR (delayed on CBS)!
-
Sunday evening greetings! This being Fr. Richard's first Sunday back after a 2-week medical leave, I drove halfway to and all the way from Lima today. We picked up lunch on the way home, watched the last 2 lectures in our London series, and then I took a 90-minute nap.
-
Best to BK & Co. for December's show!
-
I'm back from "The Guilt Trip." Even if you're not a fan of Barbra's I think you'll like this. It's one of her best performances ever, imo. And Seth Rogen has great chemistry with her. Most of the supporting players have little to do, but it doesn't matter. It's all Seth and Barbra.
-
After the movie there was a live q&a with Barbra and Seth from LA. They were both quite funny. Apparently Barbra did an interview with Piers Morgan afterwards.
-
I look forward to the report on the show tonight.
-
As for me, I'm off to bed.
-
I'll read all the dish in themorning.
-
Because it's clear I'm not getting us to page 4!
-
It's shaping up to be an early night here, too. Will look forward to reading the notes first thing.
Jan. 1 - Michigan v. South Carolina in the Outback Bowl, Tampa, FL
Go, Bearcats! Go, Blue!
Good morning, all.
Break-a-leg vibes for BK and company. Sounds like a fun holiday show.
I'm sending Break A Leg Vibes, even though it is too late for BK to know that I am sending them. I am sure they will still help!
-
DR TCB that is great news about being able to drive!!!!!
Thanks, Jennifer. I may go for a drive a couple of times this week.
-
Thanks. I keep reading how wonderful the book is, and it is a classic, still I'm not sure I want to get through this.
I think it's a classic in the way that "The Sorrows of Young Werther" is a classic. That's a book I respect, but hated reading. Hated the main character. Just because it's a classic doesn't mean it's for everyone.
-
Still only three pages?
-
We need to correct this situation.
-
One more.
-
Four!
I saw this, it is sad.
-
We had our Christmas dinner at church tonight. The local food bank catered. The food, by and large, was excellent, but the portions were tiny.
-
So I ended up eating some of the food I've packed for lunch tomorrow.
-
Four days of orientation starts tomorrow. Seems strange after 18 months of doing the same job. But I hear it's a full four days.
-
Now to watch some Wallender.
-
Am enjoying this Wallender a lot, which means I won't get any work done until I watch all three episodes.
-
Which would you rather receive for a handmade gift: a bottle of amaretto, a shelf-stable jar of salsa or a jar of an almond butter? Trying to figure out what to make.
Probably not the almond butter, because you can get machines at Whole Foods to make that fresh for you. But what do you think of the other two?
-
I shall shortly be on my way to The Federal for video check, sound check, artichoke check, and show. And I truly hope that upon my return we'll have had a frenzy or nine.
That depends. What day will you be back?
"Young Werther" is that about the caramel guy?
-
What's the matter here? Cat got your fingers?
-
What's the matter here? Cat got your fingers?
No. Wallender Episode One just came to an end. Great stuff.
-
But I have to get to bed soon.
-
Must be up way too early in the morning.
-
Orientation starts before I usually get to work.
Today for the first time in my life, I tried to download some music from iTunes. I couldn't get it to work at all. So, the changes mean nothing to me, because I never used it before.
-
I haven't used iTunes, only Amazon's music service. I know it's easier, but it's less fun than holding a CD in your hands, reading the booklet, etc. And that's nothing compared to the good old days of vinyl and some of those great albums that folded open, whether one disc or two. I remember how gorgeous "On the 20th Century" was. And how intricate "Merrily We Roll Along" was.
-
So, TCB, can we move this to page five in a few minutes?
-
We only have a few more posts to go.
-
Where is everyone else tonight?
-
Must be up way too early in the morning.
And I was up way too early this morning - 'night!
-
The bird is playing up a storm tonight.
-
So, TCB, can we move this to page five in a few minutes?
I think we had better try.
-
Well, that inches us closer.
-
Five!
-
And with that, good night, all.
-
We can
do did this!
-
-
Thank you, John. Good night.
Where is everyone else tonight?
I'm at home watching TV..."Nashville," right now. I watched "Grey's Anatomy" just before this and I'll watch "Glee" next.
-
From DR George:
TMI...I know.
LOL, no. You did the right thing which doesn't surprise me.
Thanks, Jane.
-
George, you said your show runs for 4 weeks? Can we go to FIDDLER during the week? I think the show starts at 7:00, but, of course, it is three hours long.
-
Nope, it is an 8 o'clock curtain, except Tuesday @ 7:30.
-
George, did you know the other guy at Capital Playhouse who was convicted of putting a camera in the women's dressing room?
-
I didn't, and I don't remember if I'd heard/read who the girl was.
December 27. Well, it doesn't actually close on the 27, but after that it moves to Everett.
-
Good evening. I've been e and t. I'm working on something I can't really talk about yet, but could use some positive vibes. I may be able to say more by the end of the month
I didn't, and I don't remember if I'd heard/read who the girl was.
Well, there was another actor who I heard about, but it wasn't the guy they mentioned on the news
-
I haven't caught up so vibes of all kinds for all who need or want them
Thanks George!
-
Back from a pretty wonderful holiday show - everything went perfectly, episode three got huge laughs (although I'm going to adjust one shot in the set-up - interesting thing I learned tonight), our singers were brilliant and the audience just ate it all up like candy. Best of all, we were almost completely full.
-
Congrats on the success of the show, BK!
-
I'm watching Thursday's episode of "Glee" and Sarah-Jessica Parker is the guest star. She's at Rachel and Kurt's loft for Thanksgiving and she starts to sing about having a "Kiki," which is some kind of party in NYC. Anyway, in the middle of it, Rachel starts to sing "Turkey Lurkey Time," and it becomes a mash-up of those two songs. It was pretty darned fun!
-
And after one week exactly, episode two has passed 11,000 views.
