Rumors abound of a SUPERMAN move!!!! Hoping this means more work for elmore!
I haven't read in two days. 8) I could have read a book in the same amount of time I didn't read anything.
I went from decongestants to regular allergy meds this week and still feel as if I have some sort of sleeping sickness. All I want to do is sleep. And sleep is not on the agenda. It was funny Wednesday trying to sleep while learning a new tap step.
Friday morning greetings. It's a sad morning in Middletown, because our friend Cathy lost her battle with cancer yesterday. Her son John and our son Rob grew up together and remain such good friends that John was one of Rob's groomsmen. RIP, Cathy...

DR Ginny, did I know Cathy?
Very sad about your friend Cathy, DR Ginny. :-\Indeed. My sympathies.
Happy Birthday Mr. Sondheim and Sir Andrew!Happy birthday! Twins separated at birth, right?
In the UK we are going through the coldest March weekend for 50 years.Yuck. Stay warm. (BTW: we're reaching for 90 tomorrow.)
Jane are you familiar with a restaurant in town called Cucina Biazza (sp)?
Callie takes Lactulose
Hmmm.... seems like everyone WANTED to like the show DR JOHNG.... I would be interested in hearing the score.Loved the movie when it first came out on video. A fictionalized version was what Robert Altman was working on at the time of his death.
I never saw the documentary....but such events are held regularly around these parts. ;D
And the word of the day is: INSOUCIANCE!
There was a young woman who was driving the other way who was not in the accident, but witnessed it (she was may be 22) and she was a wreck - cyring and shaking - the Vixter brought her in and gave her some water and comforted her whiel Vixdad and I grabbed flashlights and staning on opposite side s of the accident scene directed traffic away -

DR VIXMOM - wow what an adventure! Glad everything and everyone is okay. And continued vibes for your Dad!
DR Jane did you not read because you did not have anything to read or because of your ailing body parts? Earlier this week I did not read for four days. I just could not seem to start the book I needed to start.

I guess there were no photos from the HHW Mini Meet in D.C.
Such a buys weekend ahead! Saturday my sister and I are driving up to Portland to shop, shop, and more shop. Probably lots of thrift stores and a stop the the outlet mall in Woodburn. In the evening we are meeting our cousin Molly at something called the Funky Junk show or Funky Junky Women show or something where jewelry, antiques and crafts are sold.
And on Sunday, I think my buddy Mark is flying in from Wyoming. If this is the case then he and I will be meeting up for breakfast or lunch
Many vibes for cat Nicky! Poor little...but very cute...kitty.

If only we could have had a photo of this incident!

Me, too - and I really needed a good laugh today!
I am reading a very interesting book for review - it is titled TENDER COMRADES. Interviews with those who were personally and professionally involved in the Blacklisting of the 1950's....
I didn't expect to like it - but there are a lot of interesting stories in there.....much better than a "history" of the times written by someone who just researches the facts.
Donna Kane? From Meet Me in St. Louis! Loved her in that!
Hot News indeed!
Good morning, all.
Vixmom, I haven't sent your book, so don't send me a thing. (I'm slow, I admit.)

Back! And worn out. Greatly enjoyed my drive through DC this morning, but with that and a few stops along the way, I didn't get home till 8:30 pm. But what a great little getaway that was, and I say thanks again to BK and SB for a delightful evening.

Yes, why?
We haven't eaten there since Bryan moved from here to Portland which was a long, long time ago.

DR MBARNUM - have a fun weekend.
Perhaps someone in the DOLLY audience will recognize MR BK as the producer of the Hello, Dolly! Grammy-nominated revival CD.

Can you get a really small one to cook with the spuds and carrots?
I am thinking of buying another corned beef this weekend, just so I can cook up a whole bunch of potatoes and carrots. The one I bought last weekend was more St. Fatty's Day, than St. Patty's Day. But damn those spuds and carrots were 2 die 4.
And then there was Hello, Dolly. I'll talk more in the notes, but let me just say that in fifty-something years of theatergoing it was the single worst professional production of a classic musical comedy that I have ever seen. I don't mind a director having a "concept" - in this case a stripped down Dolly with no sets that basically takes place in a train station with the luggage carts moving around to become tables and the hat store and like that. In fact, without changing that part of it, I could stage a fun Dolly on that set - one that would use it cleverly and make it work. If you like brown, this is the production for you. Everything is brown - sets, costumes - it's like you're watching Hello, Dolly by Anton Chekov. Everything is lifeless and dreary and there's simply no joy. The director states he's trying to play the text, to get to the heart of Dolly, but he's doing the opposite - he simply does not have the tools to deliver. And if you're going to forego Gower Champion's brilliant choreography, you'd better have something damn good to replace it. Gower was one of the greats at dance as storytelling - here we get steps (not interesting steps) and that's it. Twice the choreographer paid homage and gave us Gower moves and they were the only moves in the show that worked. Funny that. A cast of around seventeen including a six-person ensemble. Not the Dolly I want. The title song is performed by Dolly and four boys. They do roll out a big carpet for her entrance - I thought, finally some red, but alas, it was beige. The poor actors are left hung out to dry, especially the talented Nancy Opel, who is so much better than she's being allowed here. Either her director encouraged a performance without energy (real) or her director didn't do what he needed to do to GET the energy.
Just kiddin' Cillaliz!

20 pounds!!!! :o
Yep, that was his weight the last time the vet saw him.
TCB, that's a funny thought - but you know, there re actually enough guys in it that you could call "in really good shape" - and all of them do actually have hands on them - that I guess if anyone tried to claim no literal truth in advertising, they'd have trouble making their case.
Seriously, an excellent show! I'm surprised to see the ad breaks HARD BODY into two words, didn't noitice before that the logo did, that.

How very disappointing. I suppose it could have been worse; the actors could have played all of the instruments.

A flat cut is a little less fat than a point cut. It should say which it is on the package. I had a point cut, but went through every single one in the case to find the leanest.
Just kiddin' Cillaliz!
??? Not following the games. Were they playing ISU?

This is the proposal I'm supporting. Both of the buildings to be restored are on the national register
That's very nice to be asked, Cillaliz.

Two of the stories at the links above are about the Sgt Blass, a young man from my home town who died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. The first is at the airport when the family met his casket and the second is about the man who lined the streets of my home town with 2000 flags in honor of Sgt Blass
The flag man story is on the same page, I can't get it to come up in a separate link. It' below the first story and called "man honors fallen soldiers with thousands of flags"
