I've never seen it.  The premise is fascinating and the songs sound delightful.

Good morning, all!  I slept really poorly: all the usual aches plus the new ones caused by the fall conspired to keep me uncomfortable most of the night. On top of that, I had very peculiar dreams: my last one involved Stephen Rea and me, lost in the countryside of Connecticut looking for Cincinnati(!) and my brother Tom driving a car backward down in interstate.

So, I will return to Toyland this morning and work on the spoken dialogue for the recording. I cannot remember if I am waiting for Fed Ex to pick up the broken printer today or tomorrow, but it will be shipped out of the office today or tomorrow,

Had I mentioned here teh high-concept idea I'd proposed following last week's Times report on the G.I. JOE and EVIl DEAD grosses:

Margo Channing Tatum in ALL ABOUT EVIL DEAD: The Rock Musical. (perhaps even starring The Rock)

I think it would be a natural for a summer series.

Good morning, all.

In my dream I was walking with some people near a beach in Florida where it was of course quite hot, and then we were entering the tourist area at the Cape Kennedy Space Center in a bus, where we circled around but didn't actually go in to see anything, then we were in some large auditorium-like place where I placed my old light mint-green (!) suit on one of the auditorium chairs while doing whatever I was doing.  When I went over to pick it up later I found all kinds of dirt on it that I hadn't noticed before, and then more and more of it, and I resolved to take it for a good dry cleaning immediately upon arriving home, since it hadn't had one in years.  But I was so happy to have found that it still fit so nicely.

Waking up, I realized the suit was based on a nice quality light tan one from ca-1984, and that the only way I would ever be able to fit into it now would be having surgery to remove about half of my body.

Coffee!

In the coffee shop today were two young women with two children of about 6 and 7 years old who were being left to run about all over the place, stand on chairs etc. When I was young you didn't see children acting like that in reastaurants and shops and I and my siblings were taught to sit at the table, wherever we were. Why don't parents control children nowadays?

I'm not keen on Chaplin's feature films other than "Modern Times". I used to enjoy many of Chaplin's shorts from a very young age because my father had 9.5mm prints of them, including "Easy Street", "The Pawnshop", "The Fireman", "The Cure" and "The Rink".

I have to take my car in this morning to have the driver's door handle replaced.  It's starting to break off.  Today was not the most convenient day to do it, but I'd figured I'd better do it now before it breaks off completely and while I can still open the door (without having to use the passenger door or some such thing).  Exciting, huh?

DR TCB, if you get a new kindle then all the books you bought from amazon.com will load onto your new kindle. Because you will be using the same account.

But I would highly recommend contacting amazon.com customer service. They will tell you what to do. And if it is truly dead then they might give you a better deal on a new kindle. I would definitely contact them. I've heard they are quite good about things and will try to help you.

DR CHAS SMITH the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that you are ready to explore your past and accept any decision and choice you made without regret. It also says that you feel you have moved away from many people in your past that may have been holding you back, although there is some longing to get in touch with some of them, even though you know it may bring up issues.

I got word that the City Center Director of marketing Christopher Williams, whose marketing department was coincidentally responsible for Encores insistently hawking on talkin Broadway despite how evil Talkin Broadway has been, and telling the artists that they must stay out of the discussion - has left City center in the last day or two.

I don;t know if this means he is just no longer an employee, or if he has actually left, though - but it is a ncie step.  maybe his replacement will lead a department that is  less harsh and unyieldiing and calculatedly nasty  in its marketing decisions.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  SW Ohio is finally getting the rain they've been predicting all week and, so far, it's been nice, gentle spring rain.  Maybe the thunderstorms are out of the picture...

Anyway, I've had my basement walk and after a shower and lunch, Richard and I have to make our windows accessible from the inside by moving furniture away from them.  Tomorrow morning we'll take down the curtains.  We expect the cleaning crew between 11am and 1pm tomorrow - they'll wash the windows inside and out and swap the storm windows for the screens.  Aaahhh, must be spring!

Traffic is fine.  Hayward has a LOT of bike lanes, which is awesome.  I try and ride in a low gear so I have to really work at it and get a decent workout.  Overpasses and things like that are great and sometimes take a lot of work.

I haven't made it yet.  If you do please let me know how it comes out.  I have a recipe for chocolate cookies for making ice cream sandwiches that I might try.  I'm open for suggestions.

Sometimes instead of using chocolate chips I use heath bar pieces.  That might be good & then fill the cups with coffee ice cream.

Had yet another contractor out here to make a bid - this is the last and hopefully they will decide next week and get this stuff DONE.  Meanwhile, next Tuesday the major tree and bush trimming stuff begins and we're going to be planting roses and all kinds of pretty flowers in front and in back, when they remove all the dead and pointless shrubbery from both places.

Page Two Precious and her Bow Dance.  It came off about five minutes after I took the picture.

I had a standard statement on my files at the groomers, no bows! :)   Bandana's were very acceptable.

East is east and west is west
And the wrong one I have chose
Let's go where they keep on wearin'
Those frills and flowers and buttons and bows
Rings and things and buttons and bows.

I think this will be her new song.

City Lights is one of my favorite films and that final shot of Chaplin holding the flower to his mouth and smiling in my opinion is one of the greatest and iconic images in film history. It always has me in tears.

I sw BK's landlord on an episode of "The Nanny" night before last.  He played a guy who had first been involved with eldest daughter Maggie when he was a waiter during a function her father hosted.  In this episode, he was the same character but was delivering Chinese food.   He looked very young.  His character was working to pay his way through Yale Drama School.  Maggie's father, the Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield, didn't want her to have anything to do with actors or show business but relented at the end and let her date him.

I also recommend the three part documentary The Unknown Chaplin. A fascinating look on Chaplin's working process. A lot of behind the scenes footage and rehearsal footage of him working out his routines. I don't have it with me but I think part two is dedicated to his work on City Lights.

Oy -- I just got reminded of another dream, in which I had apparently ordered a CD of R&H's ALLEGRO from someone selling through Amazon, and when it arrived I found that I'd already purchased it at a store.

Buying things twice by mistake happens to me rather too often in real life  ;D

Oh, ain't it the truth!  I've "re-bought" DVDs, Blu rays and CDs.   It's so very annoying to find I already had it.

Of course I do this in wide awake real life, too.  Mostly in the DVD department.  Current case in point:  I guess some months ago I picked up the DVD of PANIC IN THE STREETS along with a handful of other items, put it on the shelf, and hadn't yet gotten around to watching it.  Then a couple of weeks ago, I saw a nice secondhand copy of it in an FYE store and said Wow! I'll take that!  I get home, find its place on the shelf, and ..... oh my.  So one copy goes in the sell-back-or-giveaway stack.  Not three days later, to add one final kick in the arse, I see the press release announcing a must-have Blu-ray transfer.

Oh, and this is why one keeps a "database" of one's collection, right?  It would have been available via the smartphone had I bothered to check it in the store -- but there's a flaw in the system if you don't check every single thing.  I didn't check, just in case, because I truly didn't recognize it as something I even MIGHT have already had.  Oy!

I've been thinking about that all day.  I think I'l try it with the tube of cookie dough, it may not work as well, but there are fewer cookies for me to eat than if I make a batch

Ok, I tried the muffin pan thing.  Rule number one.  Don't use that much cookie dough.  Put a cookie sheet under the muffin tins....trust me on this, it will run all over your oven.  I caught it before it got bad.  The dough ran all over the bottom of the muffin tin so it made one really big cookie with three cups.   There was no way to get it off the pan when it was warm, so I'm cooling it on the pan and wil try to get it off.

I'm beginning to think my mom was right when she said, "why not just coat the inside of the muffin tin"

Jennifer, mom likes the young Disney girl - her words.  She likes a couple others, but over all she was disappointed.  I think the fact the all stars season was so good made this one hard to live up to. Derek is always her favorite.  She really doesn't like Tony. not sure why

I received an IPOD  for my birthday    what you do is

1. you get the Ipod you put the cord on it
 2. plug it into the computer -
3 get the cd you want to download
4 insert that into the little cd thingie
5 stare atthe screen wait for something to happen
6 call your daughter over and tell her somethings wrong with Itunes
7 Daughter presses magic buttons and the music jumps onto the IPOD

Ok, I tried the muffin pan thing.  Rule number one.  Don't use that much cookie dough.  Put a cookie sheet under the muffin tins....trust me on this, it will run all over your oven.  I caught it before it got bad.  The dough ran all over the bottom of the muffin tin so it made one really big cookie with three cups.   There was no way to get it off the pan when it was warm, so I'm cooling it on the pan and wil try to get it off.

I'm beginning to think my mom was right when she said, "why not just coat the inside of the muffin tin"

Did you spray Pam on the outside?

Taxes are almost done. While looking for one receipt, I found another in medical expenses for close to $1,000. That helped. (I didn't find the other receipt, though. Will have to get my bank statements tomorrow and that will be the end of it.)

Diabetes doctor in the morning. Ugh.

Night, all.

They teach it in junior high school these days, instead of English.

Someone needs to tell Hugh Jackman not to use a retractable dog leash.  ;D

I assure you Jane, if Hugh Jackman appeared in my bedroom right now, dog leashes would be the last thing we would talk about.  Well, maybe not the last, but it would be down the list.

oh I don't know.....they might come up sooner rather than later.....

And here I took the high road!

I have a stupid question. I hope someone can answer it for me without laughing at me.

My son bought me an ipod for Christmas. I think it is a nano. How do I put music on it? It seemed to do it automatically the first time I tried, but I can't figure it out now.

I plug it in, and I can get the CD to the itunes. But how do I get it on the ipod?

I received an IPOD  for my birthday    what you do is

1. you get the Ipod you put the cord on it
 2. plug it into the computer -
3 get the cd you want to download
4 insert that into the little cd thingie
5 stare atthe screen wait for something to happen
6 call your daughter over and tell her somethings wrong with Itunes
7 Daughter presses magic buttons and the music jumps onto the IPOD

I didn't even know you could download a CD to the generic ipad ipod.  Mine remains completely empty because I had no idea what to do with it.

Well, mine came with a very short cord (Careful!) and it said to connect it to my computer.  I thought that was just to charge the damn thing.

Actually, I have both.  I have an ipod, but I also have a little music / video thing.  It isn't an actual Ipad, but the same thing.

I have a question for DR JRand.   Is there something batty going on in the sky?  Is Mercury retrograde or something?  Everything I had planned this week didn't happen.  I spent all that time getting ready to present today and it's really next week, I had a miscommunication with the Merry Maids and now have had to reschedule twice. I was going to see Mom on Saturday, but she's decided to go to the bridal shower after all, so I have to change that.  It's pretty funny, actually

Funny it hasn't been a bad week.  Nothing has really gotten accomplished and it's kind of been a cluster, but nothing bad has happened. I'm not complaining, just hope it's a passing thing
