Arnold, I'm joking only when i say this but a variation on TO SURD WITH LOVE, maybe?  (You'll come up with something much better! I haven't had coffee yet.)

Or TO SURD MAN is a cook book?  (for Twilight Zone fans)

Here is that "SHIP MY PANTS" commercial if people don;t know what I'm talking about.  they really might just as well say the "cuss" word and be done with it, LOL, for all the subtlety.

I love the Losey/Bogarde/etc. films and revisited them mostly via PAL DVDs a couple of years ago.  I guess I'll eventually pop for the UK Blu-rays, but I sure wish so many US releases didn't lag so far behind -- sometimes so far behind as to remain simply non-existent.

My latest folly:  saying yes to playing in the two-piano revue "Some Enchanted Evening - The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein".

Folly, because of the conditions:  a small outdoor summer theater venue where you swat Flying and Crawling Things from Hell off the music whilst praying the tent won't leak onto the instruments if it should start raining.  But it's a short gig, two weekends.  Haven't seen or heard this.  I hope the arrangements are good.

The prosecutor's rebuttal case started yesterday DR LAURA, and it is going much faster than the defense case. He is pretty much steamrolling over everything the defense tried to do....which was mostly smoke and mirrors to confuse the jury.  Hopefully no one took them seriously.

I bought some packs of DVD plastic sleeves. I thought I'd put each DVD together with the DVD cover, flat, inside the sleeves which will save a lot of space. I can then store the original DVD boxes in the attic. All I need now is some sort of container to place the boxless, sleeved DVDs in. Obviously it can work for Blu-rays as well - but I only have about 120 of them.

By the way, why do I have to keep typing Blu-ray? Why don't people use an acronym like BR or BD or BRD?

This is what I am doing, too, DR DOUG R - but I am using the sleeves that are punched for a three-ring binder and putting them in there = and sheet protectors to hold the covers.  It's amazing how many DVD's/BR that I can get in a small space that way.  I am saving a FEW of the cases, but not many in case I ever want to loan a disk or use it away from home.

This morning, I opened my morning paper and, on page 3 or 4, I found a detailed diagram on how to make a pressure cooker bomb.

I believe in freedom of the press, and I know that this information is available on the Internet, but do we really have to make so easy for the bad guys or just some stupid kid to find it?

Whatever happened to common sense?

An excellent question, DR Doug R.  I do it differently all the time, depending on context.  One option I kind of like, while not falling in line with DVD, LD, BD, etc., is the abbreviation BLU.

Good idea DR Jrand62. I was beginning to think along those lines. I think A5 ring binders are the way to go. The sleeves I have are big enough for me to punch holes and put them in the binders.

Have you ever heard of Tate's Bake Shop cookies?  I'm addicted to the chocolate chip-walnut.  I'm told the butterscotch-pecan is a dream, but local suppliers don't carry them.

Trader Joe's carries its own brand of chocolate chips which are baked/packaged by Tate's.  Whereas Tate's has a greenish package, the Trader Joe package is a yellowish.  Otherwise the packaging is the same.

Yes DR Ron Pulliam, it will be an ouch experience! After insurance it will cost me around $300.00.

Of course, if I was one of those without any dental insurance it would be much worse, so I am terribly thankful, actually.

Tomorrow I go to see the Sleep Clinic doctor as my sleep apnea has been worsening the last few months. My fear is that I will need to do another sleep-over at the hospital which will cost me, after insurance, another $500-600 dollars. Again, very thankful to have insurance, but still...ouch!

It also means that chances of taking a vacation this year are getting slimmer and slimmer.

I'm beginning to think this ROBERTA recording is cursed! We've found the ideal leading man replacement, who wants to do the recording, and he's committed to a trip between August 11-18. We could rehearse him in New York, but he'd miss rehearsing with his castmates between Aug 13 and 15, but I need him in the studio the morning of the18th to record. If there were delays or flight cancellations, we'd be screwed.

My mom went to Mexico to get crowns on several of her teeth...at about $200 each!  Friends of hers live in Arizona near the Mexican border and have been going to the same dentist for years.  The were trained in the states and have all the latest technology.  Her dentist here in Olympia checked out the work when she got back and said that they did very good work.  It's just a LOT cheaper in Mexico.

I now musts and needs to be running some errands at:  Trader Joe's (for evening snack material), Guitar Center (for cables), Home Depot (for water softener salt pellets), Costco (to ask about tires), the library (for a DVD I'm happy to rent, not purchase), and perhaps a bite to eat.

What is a guitar cable?

Probably a telegram that reads:  "I'm all strung out.  Stop picking on me!"

My needs were simple:  two 3-foot 1/4-inch stereo (balanced) cables -- something you used to be able to walk into Radio Shack and pick up for a couple of bucks.  Okay, I did take the "better" ones today, but I am now $25.50 closer to poverty.

But it sure is better for me that I didn't!

Just got a CD of ASSASSINS (original cast recording).

Never heard it.  Looking forward to listening.

Wow. So many memories of first hearing that CD. Hope you enjoy.

Just finished listening.

Loved the music.  Terrific show, but as my wife said, "So depressing".

I love the original recording.  I haven't listened to the revival recording in quite a while, so I don't remember much of it.

I remember reading that the original cast recording has the most spoken dialogue on a musical cast album.  I think that it's pretty cool that they put that whole last scene on the recording.

Folly, because of the conditions:  a small outdoor summer theater venue where you swat Flying and Crawling Things from Hell off the music whilst praying the tent won't leak onto the instruments if it should start raining.

Ah, yes. All those little knatty things.

I've had Tate's chocolate chip-walnut. They were WONDERFUL!! So good! I had no idea there was a connection between Tate's and TJ's. Ron, do you know if all of TJ's chocolate chip cookies use Tate's chocolate chips? Some types of chocolate chips make me a bit sick, but not Tate's or TJ's.

I don't mind not having dental insurance because when I had it the insurance company would just deny the claim, anyway. Why bother? The premiums were high, too. Now, if there's no premium, fine.

Well, I must be off.  Today is my niece's 29th birthday and we're all meeting downtown at Budd Bay Cafe (http://www.buddbaycafe.com/).  It's a local restaurant that has some vegan options for my niece and sister.  For her birthday present(s), my niece asked for three DVDs with Paulette Goddard:  "Charge of the Lancers" and "Vice Squad," which have arrived.  The third, "Sins of Jezebel," is marked as "shipping soon."  She'll get it as soon as I get it.

Until later!

The prosecutor's rebuttal case started yesterday DR LAURA, and it is going much faster than the defense case. He is pretty much steamrolling over everything the defense tried to do....which was mostly smoke and mirrors to confuse the jury.  Hopefully no one took them seriously.

And the defense is doing a lousy job trying to impeach the state expert.  Yes, she's young, but she's professional and going over her CV line by line doesn't really mean a thing to anyone

If you have a deficiency of vitamin D, you gain weight easily or something.  Anyway, when I'm on my mega 50,000 units a week, I tend to lose weight. Whether it's because I have more energy or whether there really is a link between the deficiency and weight loss, I don't know

TCB, will you give us a few details of your cruise before you leave?

Of course, thanks for asking.  I have always wanted to take another cruise that had more "AT SEA" days as opposed to "DAYS IN PORT.  This one certainly fits that requirement.  We sail from New Orleans on Sunday evening,  We are at sea on Monday, and then on Tuesday we stop in Miami.  From there we are at sea for seven days until we dock in the Azores.  From there we are at sea for, I believe, three days.  Then we stop in Dover, then a day at sea, then Helsingborg, Sweden, and then final stop in Copenhagen.

Finished with my viewing - I still can't decide on two numbers - was going to do Talk to the Animals, but I just can't get with it.  I'm trying to think of a nice put-together song I could pair with Two for the Road preferably a Mancini - Bricusse wrote a bunch of Mancini movie songs - nothing from Victor/Victoria is striking my fancy and if truth be told I'd rather have a Newley/Bricusse song anyway.
