Title: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 33
Post by: bk on May 05, 2013, 11:55:07 PM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland 33, and now it is time for you to post until the 33 cows come home.

BK - So great to read these notes about how well last night went.

We all know only from the postings along the way there were a few rehearsal glitches along the way on this one, but it sounds like everything turned out so incredibly well where it really counted!

Good morning, all! I have to be to Toyland early to receive the second shipment of this Kinko's order. Let's hope it looks great and that the manager, who seems very friendly and wanting to help, came through.

Once that's delivered, I can deal with binding the scores and preparing a shipment to Dublin. I hope I can talk to Rob Berman today about this leading man situation. He's not accepted the offer, which was made a week ago, and I am ready to hold auditions.

DR Cillaliz, raccoons bite! I hope you can easily get rid of it.

It's nice to hear the show went well. Was the singer who began the number again the fit thrower?

No Oys, no schleps to the high school, just a day of blessed rest and recovery.  Then I'm playing auditions tonight and tomorrow night for something composed by some local person, for which auditioners were advised to bring something G&S-ish or otherwise operetta-ish.  That part at least should be interesting.

Raccoon Be Gone vibes for DR CILLA LIZ....they are persistent messy creatures.

Speaking of Jodi Arias, hopefully we get a quick verdict so that DR LAURA is charged much more $$$$, at least for THIS phase of process.

Good news about the Kritzerland Show - I think most of us can figure out who the starter-overer must have been.

If there are a few orders for FOLLIES from Indiana, it may be because I sent the link to my friends who are doing FOLLIES this month in Indy.

Raccoons carry rabies and other diseases. Also, they do a lot of damage to property. I'm already seeing wood strips in the eaves trough, so I have to see what damage he did last night and find a handy man to fix it. I found one spot and I'm concerned the roof may leak there.

So, a friend with a flexible schedule does pay off. He just got off the line at the Booth Theatre with two rush tickets for tonight's performance of

I'll Eat You Last (http://www.illeatyoulast.com/)

The Booth is one of my favorite theatres, small, good sight lines and beautifully maintained. We are in the last row of the mezzanine on the aisle in the center section. I'm looking forward to it.

Now I just have to get to Kinky Boots and Pippin next Saturday (18th) and Sunday (19th) and do the same thing. Rush for $37.

Finally looked around on the net to see what the problem was.  Found it!  If anyone else is having this problem, let me know, and I can send you the solution....it's just a couple of clicks, nothing to download.

Rain stopped so I went out to do a jog - got five blocks and it started to drizzle, then drizzle harder, so I turned around and came back.  Naturally as soon as I got home it stopped - I actually think it's drizzling still five blocks away - it's funny in LA that way - here it's not drizzling, five blocks and further east it's probably really starting to come down.  I'll go later maybe or just take the day off.

Quote
Boy, I understand Keith's sore back. I am just recovering from back pain myself. Which part of his back hurts? My biggest complaint was my mid-back on the right side. That is finally better.

Base of his spine, or lower back center.  Currently the back of his hip running down the leg hurts more.

You both do a lot of gardening, wonder if there is a connection.  My back is hurting more because Keith is using my heating pad-lol

Wishes your back continues to improve!!!!

Site down for over an hour!  We cannot be moving from there fast enough and I've told the new folks this - I'd like it all to happen in the next three weeks.  When I first noticed I wrote the host and was told (ten minutes later) that they were aware of the issue and working on it.  An hour later I'd had it and called and the guy made the mistake of larding on the attitude, saying "We're working on it" just dripping with "why are you bothering us?" attitude.  I shut that down right away by raising my voice slightly and giving back more attitude than he could possibly know what to do with - I said, "Why don't you knock off the defensiveness - it's MY site that's down."  He told me it was a lot of sites that they host.  I told him, "Funny, your own site is up and running just fine, and I'd like mine to be, too - maybe we should be on the same server."  He told me they were working as fast as they could but it could take another hour.  But, ten minutes after and here we are and hopefully that's the last of the problems with them today and tonight.

Today started with a big, hairy spider in my bathtub. Normally I let these critters live, but not in my space! I washed him down the drain.

Then I had a notice from the California Franchise Tax Board, saying that I owed them several hundred dollars. No, all has been paid. It took a couple hours for someone to call me back, but he did and we got it straightened out. (Their error.)

I tell you, all is not right in the Heavens.

It's nice to hear the show went well. Was the singer who began the number again the fit thrower?

I think we've all been wondering this.

No-more-raccoon vibes to DR Cillaliz!

Many years ago, when I was living in Alexandria, VA, I was in the upstairs bathroom, brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed, when I noises above me that made me think that someone was on the roof. I called out to my friend John, who was staying with me at the time. His response was the typical, "I didn't hear anything; you must be imagining it."  Then we went up to the guest room on the third floor, which looks out to the bathroom roof. And looked right into the face of a raccoon. Boy, was John startled! Some raccoons are the size of a small dog and, on the roof, do sound much heavier.

Is it just me, or does the singer in the video give a very affected performance of the song??  She rarely opens her eyes. :-\

In both of our Michigan homes we enjoyed watching the raccoons.  In our first home, which backed up to a ravine, there was a big old tree they lived in.  Standing on our upper back deck we could see them climb down the tree at dusk.  Boy, did they move slowly when they first woke up.  In the spring the babies would walk out onto the end of a big limb and watch us while we stood on the deck watching them-oh so cute.

After I saw the eyes, I went around to the bathroom window where I could get a better look.  I was looking at his back and thought for a minute it was the big stray cat that has been hanging around the house.  I couldn't figure out how a cat got up there and how the heck it was going to get down.   Then the raccoon turned and I knew what it was.

A few months ago, I and other board members of Theater Artists Olympia were brainstorming ideas on fundraisers.  Someone suggested an evening of scenes of the Shakespeare that TAO had performed over the years, and I added that we could also do songs from the musical versions...and mentioned the aforementioned CD.  The idea was tabled, but I think several people liked the idea of the songs along with scenes.
